Script support in keynote '09?

Do you know if Apple Script is supported in Keynote '09? So we can generate presentations automatically? Tx.

tell application "Keynote"
activate
make new slideshow
end tell
Beyond that I can't help as I really know nothing about the practical scripting of Keynote. If someone here with more knowledge doesn't post, try asking in the AppleScript forum. There are some posts on Keynote scripting there already; just search that forum for "keynote".

Thanks for the prompt reply, Gary. I am specifically talking about quicktime animations (.mov files) with clear backgrounds. When they play back in Keynote, the backgrounds are black.

  • Can I extend the scripting support through the SDK?

I need to create an automated process of saving different layers from documents as different file formats. Unfortunately there is no scripting support for exporting to EMF-format, which I need to do. I glanced on the possibility of calling a self-defined action from my script, but I need to automatically set the output folder and name of the exported files which apparently isn't possible.
In my frustration I've started to think about a more "advanced" solution, which is: Can I somehow extend Illustrator's scripting support, to be able to export files as EMF? I can't even find how to export files to EMF in the SDK documentation, so I feel a bit lost.
Has someone done something like this? Or even more desirable, does someone have a better solution to this?
    Thanks!
    Johannes

    Dear Johannes,
If I had no experience with the SDK, and I only needed a solution as described, I would certainly prefer a scripting solution.
In that case, I would recommend saving the file to a fixed path and file name with an action or script.
Then a script could move/rename the file to where you would like it saved. As long as it was being moved to the same drive, the difference in performance would be imperceptible.
You didn't mention what scripting environment you are using, however, this would be trivial with AppleScript and most likely any scripting language you might be using. If you are using AppleScript, I could provide a one line example on how to move files...
    Hope this helps.
    Best.

  • Outlook 2010 cannot provide form scripting support

I have followed two workarounds and fixes for Office 2010 in  a terminal services environment.  One was to copy a .dll file to the terminal server and the other was to remove a registry entry.  Both workarounds fixed the problem temporarily,
but it continues to show up.  When a user opens some email messages they receive a warning that "Microsoft Outlook cannot provide form scripting support. This feature is not available.  For more information, contact your system administrator."A+, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, Security+

Here is what I did to enable VB scripting for Outlook 2010.
    1.
Determine the GUID for Office 2010.
    In the Registry, go to
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features. Search for
    “OutlookVBScript”. I found it at:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features\00004109110000000000000000F01FEC.
In the Registry, for an x86 server go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products,
or for an x64 server, go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\InstalledPackages (the first one)
and select the key where you located “OutlookVBScript”.
    On my server, it is:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\00004109110000000000000000F01FEC
When I select it, this is what I see:
DisplayName “Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010”
InstallSource, ModifyPath and UninstallSring all show the Office 2010 GUID as
    {90140000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}
    2.
    Install VBScripting for Outlook.
My commands to install VBscripting for Outlook are therefore:
    change user /install
    msiexec /i {90140000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE} ADDLOCAL=OutlookVBScript /qb
    change user /execute
Note: After installing VBscripting for Outlook, “OutlookVBScript”at
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features\00004109110000000000000000F01FEC changed its value from “OUTLOOKFiles”
(where the box glyph at the beginning appears to be a minus or dash in the Registry editor) to “OUTLOOKFiles”.

  • How do I download apple script support

How do I get Apple Script Support Download for ITUNES on windows 7

AppleScript is a Mac OS X technlogy only. You cannot get AppleScript support on a Windows system. Depending on what it is you wish to accomplish, though, there may be other ways. See:

  • Does ABSL (ByD Script) support Short Circuit Evaluation?

    Hi,
    short question:
Does ABSL (ByD Script) support Short Circuit Evaluation?
For example the following code snippet:
    var Call_query;
    Call_query = !this.LastChangeIdentity.IsSet() || (this.LastChangeIdentity.UUID.Content != CurrentIdentityUUID.Content);
Will "this.LastChangeIdentity.UUID.Content" be evaluated and cause me into trouble if not initialized?
PS: Is there a language specification available?

I found something, which looks like a specification.
See within the Business Center Wiki -> ByD Studio -> Best Practices for Implementation,
section 'Best Practice for Business Object definition and scripting',
download ' Syntax for Actions and Events.pdf'.
Within this PDF, see section 'Logical Expressions'.
Cite: The logical u201Candu201D (&&) and u201Coru201C (||) operators always evaluate the overall expression to a boolean value (u201Ctrueu201D or u201Cfalseu201D)
This sounds to me, that Short Circuit Evaluation is not supported.
BUT: There is no version number nor time stamp nor something else, which points out the status of this document.
Can someone (from SAP) verify this?

  • Open Script supports Oracle Fusion Middleware Application

    Hi,
Can anybody please confirm whether Oracle Open Script 9.2 supports scripting for Oracle Fusion Middleware Applications?
We have received a project proposal to do load test for the same.
    Appreciate for early response
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,

    Hi Mahesh
ATS supports different protocols when you say Fusion Middleware do you know which protocols you are testing ?
I have used ATS to test Middleware a lot but is really the protocol that you need to test so find out the protocol that you are testing and you will know if its supported by ATS.

  • PSE 7 scripting support

One of the things that was introduced in PS 7 was the support for scripting using Javascript. It was an incredible addition when a user needed to automate repetitive tasks on a large number of files. I have found some very useful ones on the Internet and modified them for my personal needs and now I would like to make use of them in PSE 7.
The installation places a Photomerge.jsx file and a "Stack Scripts Only" directory under Presets\Scripts but there is no mention on how to execute them or add new ones.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/photoshop/scripting/
Hello there. I am glad to see someone else has discovered that scripting works in photoshop elements. I have been using java scripting in elements since pse 4. The easiest way to run and test scripts is to drag and drop just like you do image files. There are two ways that i use scripts, the first being using actions to call scripts. Using this method enables you to put the actions in your effects palette. The second way is to place scripts into automate menu. The following is a script to place smart objects. At the top of the script is is how to name the script so it shows up in the automate menu. Just put this script into your scripts folder and restart elements and it should show in automate menu. This only works in pse6 and pse7.  If you have acess to photoshop then you can use the script listener to get the code for different functions that are not recorded in actions. Many of the same limitations apply to scripts as they do to actions in elements in that some functions just don't work. Of course there are always work arounds, you just have to be creative and think outside the box as they say. The stack scripts you refer to are linked to the photomerge script and don't do anything by themselves. They are the functions for the photomerge script. Photoshop cs3 and cs4 include documentation on scripting or you can find them at the link above. Over in the photoshop forums is a scripting forum and also a forum on internet called ps scripts, although i don't know how much they know about elements, alot of the stuff still applys to elements.  Hope some of this helps.

  • Finally Flash 8 or browser support in Keynote'08?

    Hi everyone,
I'm very curious about the new keynote. I frequently have to present my interactive flash-projects and the only solution I know is to make a link to a webpage. Off-course it would be a lot better to integrate the flashfile (or the webpage) directly into the presentation. So, is that finally possible in the new version of Keynote?
    Thanks,
    J.

Keynote's Flash support is based on QT, so I doubt that changed, and seeing that they still haven't put QT VR support in it, I also doubt (but could be wrong) that it supports interactive flash.

Does Premiere Pro CS5 support scripting through extendscript or any other scripting language?  I see it as a target application in the extendscript toolkit, but i don't see a place within Premiere Pro to run scripts.

You can scripting in Premiere with extended script, but it looks that it is not officialy supported. No manual or using example etc I hope that it will be soon.

  • Which transitions are supported in Keynote iPad?

I use some simple transitions in Keynote '09 on the Mac that work flawlessly. Usually dissolve, sometimes several on a single slide, and sometimes with grouped objects.
It seems as if grouped object transitions on K-iPad is no good, and also seems as if more than one transition on a slide is a problem -- either doesn't work or is put in the wrong place.
Is there a list of which transitions are supported, etc? I can't find it in the Apple support pages, but perhaps I'm not looking in the right place.

Thanks Tom for the helpful article link. Though where would one find a list of the iPad availabe fonts...?
    From Apples own text...
Use fonts common to both the Mac and iPad platforms. Fonts that are not available on the iPad are replaced with the Helvetica font.
So does the iPad tell the user which fonts are "common" ???
    Thanks again.
