Script to find certain sized messages a move them to a folder.

We are preparing to move our organization to Exchange Online. Because of this we have an issue that no message in any mailbox can be > 25MB. Management wants a script to parse every user's mailbox to find messages that are
> 25MB and put them in a folder in that mailbox called 'Large Items' so that the end users can deal with them on their own.
I am unable to find any script that will go through EVERY user's mailbox and make this folder and move items into it. Has anyone else done this?

Yes, there is no script or command could do that.
The most closest command should be Search-mailbox
Search-mailbox can search messages in a specified mailbox and copy message to a specified target mailbox, but it may not search the message based on message size.

Got to your Desktop folder in the Finder sidebar, command i will open the info pane.
What are your permissions here? Unlock the pad lock and Change to read write.

My sent email folder is full and I cna't compact them. I owul dlike to move them to another folder, start fresh, but be able to see that older folder

My Thunderbird Sent folder is almost full (4 Gig) and I can't compact it any further. My Inbox folder is getting there as well so my question applies to both folders.
I've backed up my Thunderbird data files onto another hard drive, so they should be safe.
What I'd like to do is to move my current Sent folder emails to another folder that I can still access easily with Thunderbird. Then I'd create a have a new Sent folder (and eventually a new Inbox) that I can start filling up again with new stuff.
The other thing would be to just increase the four gig limit for both the Sent and Inbox folders.
Is there an easy way to do this?

Compacting is deleting messages marked for deletion. It has nothing to do with trying to squeeze out just a little more space in an already full folder.

You could also create folders under Local Folders and move the older message there.

Ghost Icons on desktop after attempt to move them into a folder

I was trying to clean up my desktop so I highlighted a few files and tried dragging them into one folder. After this happened the icons that were highlighted remained on my desktop, completely grayed out with no way of clicking on it or moving it. when I checked the folder that was supposed to contain the files they were all there but the ghost icons remain on my desktop with no way of accessing them. Restarting will usually take care of the problem but I want to know if anyone can tell me why this is happening in the first place?

Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR34
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
Software OS X 10.9.5 (13F34)

Can't delete messages or move them to personal mbox

Hi All:
I sent about 6 messages from my Web Mail account (not .Mac) to an address in Germany, all of which had attachments. The largest attachment was 1 MB. This has never been an issue for me before. The only thing new is that I sent a BCC of each message to myself. These BCC messages have all been downloaded to my Mail Inbox and deleted from my Web Mail account. Now come the problems.
Basically, I want to delete several of the BCC German emails and save the rest in a personal mailbox in Mail. The earliest BCC download keeps trying to display the 1 MB attachment and basically keeps spinning its wheels (might be the source of the issue.) I am unable to delete that and all subsequent BCC emails to the same address in Germany. This issue has slowed the downloading of new mail from the Web server. In other words, if I go to my Web Mail account, I often find several new emails which have not downloaded to Mail. When they do download, I am able to delete them, unlike the BCCs to Germany
DELETING
When I "delete" the BCC German emails, they continually reappear after quitting Mail or even rebooting. I have also had to Force Quit Mail many times.
MOVING TO PERSONAL MAILBOX
When I drag those BCC emails to a personal mailbox, they will not move. They remain in my Inbox.

You will probably find that mail makes many copies of your messages and everytime you start Mail it's almost as if the mailboxes are rebuilt from copies of the messages you deleted. Try the rebuild mailbox approach. If not try the link above.

Every picture I import changes from one simple photo to 16 pictures when I try to move them to a folder. Why? I can import from my iphone or my camera and they import fine but then I can't move them anywhere without this crazy page of 16 photos appearing

When I import pictures from either my camera or my iphone via photo stream then attempt to place them anywhere; in a folder for instance, the picture appears in the new folder as 16 small individual identical pictures. The tiny pictues are like a kalidescope and there is no way you can see them or work with them. What is happening? Why are they changing in this wacky way? I'm not very familiar with iphoto or Mac's in general but I'm not doing more than clicking import to import and dragging them into folders.

If you want help with what you are doing you have to tell us what you are doing, how you are doing it and what you have.
iPhoto does not modify anything during import - it makes a bit for bit copy of the original
What version of iPhoto and of the OS do you have? What camera? What mode are you shooting in? (I have an older Sony camera that do this in one mode)
How are you moveing photos and to where (in iPhotoi it is not possible to have photos in folders - folders only hold other folders or albums)
In short we can not see your or your computer and we can only work with details you provide - and they must match iPhoto language

Search for files & move them to a certain folder

I'm trying to scan my harddrive in search of certain documents. These documents should then be moved to a specified folder.

In my Documents folder I have a lot of files whose names contain 'Article'. I want to MOVE all these files to a specified folder. Automator should search all sub-folders of the folder I specify.
How can this be done?
I tried a simple 'Find Finder Items' but when I search for 'Article' it doesn't return any results, even if the files are not in subfolders.
What am I doing wrong?

Seems like it would be a lot easier to just open a finder window, click in the search box and type in "Article" and then select all the results and move them to a folder you created for that purpose. You can click on "This Mac" at the top of the search window to make sure you're finding all the relevant files wherever they are on your mac. Or am I missing something?

I am not computer savvy. I have a second generation itouch, and have never had any problems. Just recently, certain songs will not play. It will skip the song to the next one. Certain videos will not play. The message, "This movie could not be played

This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.

You have the latest version (CC 2014.1 or 2014.1.1) in which the interface condenses Design View with Live View buttons in normal layouts. See screenshot.
However, in FGLayouts, Live View is the only option which poses some editing problems and has been highly criticized.
Is there any way to display the Design View in fluid grid pages?

I'm sorry, had you already pointed out the rules which stated that lines from 2 separate accounts were eligible??? I don't see anywhere in the advertisement specifically stating that lines from 2 separate accounts would be eligible, so THAT is not what's advertised, either.
As far as I know Verizon's BOGO offers have ALWAYS been for lines on the same account. Possibly someone could chime in where they have received this offer on 2 separate accounts? The ONLY exception to this was someone getting the offer with 2 eligible lines on their account, reactivating the old phone on one of the lines and then giving one of the new phones to someone on another account.

When playing a video I have downloaded from iTunes I get the message "This Movie Cannot be played on this machine". The weird thing is that I downloaded the film from iTunes and while it was downloading I was watching it with my kids on my IMac. Once it had finished downloading I went with them to the living room Tao carry on watching on our apple tv. The apple TV wouldn't play it and said I needed to authorise my Pc, then the IMac gave the message above and I haven't been able to play it since. All my other downloaded films play. I am running iTunes version 10.2.2. And my iMac is Running Snow Leopard OS 10.6.7. Anyone who can shed some light on this weird situation will have my upmost thanks

I have the same problem. Been trying to find some answers, but not a lot of info about this. It seems to happen only when:
- itunes library is stored remote (NAS or external HD)
- starting a movie/show before download has finished will make it fail next time you try to start
Hope this gets fixed soon.. it's making purchasing content via itunes a hassle

Bridge CS6 Script to Find Multiple Images in Multiple folders.

Is it possible to have a script to find multiple images within multiple folders that is on a external hard drive?
For instances I have a external hard drive assuming it's for a library of pictures.
Inside this hard drive has folders named as below
1-1000
1001-2000
2001-3000
3001-4000
If I had a perfect csv file for example that calls out for specific pictures for example 2, 10,1500 and 2000 (remember think big, it may be a larger list than this it could be hundreds or thousands of pictures); is there a script that would allow me to find these images and save a copy of them on to my desktop so that way I don't have to hunt for them in the old fashion way? I can read scripts but writing them is a different story.

If you want to go with Batch I would recommend creating an Action of more or less these steps:
• set the resolution to the same as the background image’s
• change the image from Background Layer to regular Layer if necessary
• convert it to a Smart Object
• add a Drop Shadow Layer Style to the image (do not use Global Angle)
• place the background image (File > Place …)
• move it behind the image layer
• Image > Reveal All
• make Selection from that layer’s transparency (cmd-click its icon in the Layers Panel) and use Image > Crop
• select and transform the image layer to fit the intended position
This would naturally work out best if the images had the same size and proportions.
For the reflection on the floor duplicate the image, flip it vertically, move it in position and reduce its opacity to maybe 10%.
Realistically you may have to hide it partially behind the pillows, a Vector Mask would be an option.

If I delete a message using delete key, AND the "Find in this message" box is open, should the focus switch to the search box, or remain in the message list?

If the "Find in this message" search box has been left open, but I have selected a message in the message pane, if I use the delete key to delete the current message, the focus moves to the "Find" box. It took me a while to figure out why the focus did not remain in the message list so I could delete the next message. I can regain the desired behavior by closing the search box, but it would be nice to not need to. This is on a Windows 7 OS. I should check to see how it behaves on a Linux box.

Sometime I think I would like it if I could delete an iMessage completely.
Other times when reading them on my iPhone I wish to leave them until I can answer them with something that is on my Mac.
It seems that as a device or a Mac that is off line can "catch up" on iMessages sent within a few hours would suggest that the iMessages are held on the server for a period.
It would be handy for different levels of "deletion".
