Can someone point me to the correct commands to script a silent, complete removal of the ZENworks management agent?
Thanks in advance!

    Hi!
Anyone knows how to uninstall zenworks agent with a script ?

The uninstall string should be in the registry along with the other programs
    in add/remove programs.

  • ZEN Agent install without admin rights

    Hi all,
Sorry to re-visit something I've seen a number of posts on, but I can't
seem to get things to work as I've been lead to believe they should. We
have a handful of systems that do not have any instance of the ZEN agent
installed, a mix of NT and XP (odd, I know). We are attempting to create
an automated process that will establish whether the agent is on the
system and if it is not, install it. Seems pretty straight forward and
I've been referencing the following suggestions. There are a number of
posts in the forums as well, but these were the most relevant.
    http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/trench/3490.html

    http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/trench/3383.html
    http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/se...?/10073212.htm
The problem is, despite what these instructions say, we cannot install the
agent without having local admin rights. All the batch files are in
place, and work, but ultimately the install fails. I've seen work arounds
for any OS later than NT, but its important that every system have the
    agent.
I've tried almost everything suggested in the links above but I am
primarily pursuing the batch file approach as detailed in...
    http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/se...?/10085696.htm
At what point are rights elevated such that the install can complete in an
    NT environment?
I am sure I'm forgetting some relevant details, so humor me please.
    Thanks in advance.
    Mike

I forgot that RunAs does not come with NT. ( It's available as an add-on,
but even that needs admin rights to install.)
Try PSExec from http://www.sysinternals.com, but I believe that will not
work either, but worth a shot.
Another outside shot is to push the "AlwaysInstallElevated" MSI installer
registry keys via a batch file.
Unfortunately, I doubt your logged on user has the rights to do this
    either..............
You may be stuck manually visiting and installing manually.

  • Manual Zen agent removal

I am trying to upgrade my Zen agent install from Zen 6.5sp2 agent to Zen
7sp1 agent. There appears to be a problem with my current install of the Zen
6.5 agent that prevents the install from automatically removing it pryor to
the Zen 7 install. I have tried uninstalling the 6.5 agent manually through
add/remove programs but the uninstall fails.
    My question is this....
How do I remove the Zen 6.5 agent manually so that all traces are gone from
    my machine? Thanks...

That tool doesn't remove zen-agent. It just can remove installer
configuration for it. In order to really remove agent you should use
msiexec /X package.msi or msiexec /X{package_GUID}. In Zen 6.5 case that
    would be MsiExec.exe /X{51E7C053-8ED5-4BB8-AEA7-69AECED4A282} (or
something like that. Right line can be found in
    /HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Uninstall) .
Cleaning installer configuration might help solving
installation/uninstallation problems though, so if those above lines
don't work, then use CleanUP utility and try again.

  • Command line login to ZEN agent

We use clientless Win XP machines connecting to ZENWorks via the middle
tier server. I have installed the ZEN agent with passive mode. However,
is there a way that when I log on to Windows Active Directory, in the
background I can log on to the Middle Tier Server with another generic
Novell Account and password? Something like a batch file that I can put in
start up to launch ZENworks with a command line?

    I don't know.
I never tried it, but I was told that by somebody smart that they
"Suspected it would work though they had not tested."
Could you please export the changes you made to a reg file and paste
that text here? I will not have access to my ZEN lab for a few weeks
which is in a different state than me at the moment, so I am going to
forward this back to someone. Before doing so, I want to make sure I
can give them exactly what you did to same them some time.

We tries to distribute the Zen agent via ConsoleOne and Install-Agent.
When we tries to deploy the agent, we get the error: "Unable to map

  • Uninstall In Home Agent from a Mac

I have been unable to identify how to uninstall In Home Agent on my iMac. Can someone identify the main filename for this program?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It's super annoying when tech guy comes into your house and install a "junk" program on your personal computer and you have hard time to removing it afterwards... when I turn on my Mac today, the verizon updater just automatically started on my start up items. I quited it, and it would start again.
The way I removed it was, just go to Application folder in your finder, and search for Verizon, it should come up with 3 different Verizon programs, In Home Agent, Updater and something else I forgot, just simply drag them to trash can and empty your trash. You will have a bit hard time to delete the updater because it keeps saying cannot delete because the program is open. You have to quit the program on your screen's top right corner, then go to System Preference, under User Group, click on your user name, and on the right there is start up items, uncheck Verizon Updater, and click on minus button to remove them from start up items. Restart your computer, now you should be able to remove the Verizon Updater in your Application folder.

  • How to uninstall Remote Diagnostic Agent (RDA) 4

I am planning to try installing Remote Diagnostic Agent (RDA) 4 to development server to help diagnose/analyze the delay in login. I’ve done client-level tracing and have the trace file. This is a trace file related to network, so TKPROF, Trace analyzer, and other tools to analyze and tune SQL are not applicable. I just learned from Oracle Metalink that RDA can help analyze this kind of trace file. Before I install RDA, I’d like to know how to uninstall it so that if there are negative impact/results after the install, I can uninstall it. I tried to search the web and Oracle Metalink but I didn’t get any valuable information on how to uninstall RDA.
My question is: has anyone tried to uninstall this RDA tool? If yes, could you please show me how you did the uninstall?

RDA is just a series of scripts/procedures. It is no more invasive of your database than a backup script. I wouldn't bother with an uninstall as you'll just have to re-install the next time you want to use it.

  • Deploy powershell script - Uninstall Forefront

    Hi
Im trying to build a powershell script that uninstall Forefront Client and later install SCEP and it also copy the local exclusions from Forefront to insert in SCEP (registry).
All works fine when Im running the script locally, but when Im deploying it from Altiris DS it halts on Microsoft Forefront Client Security Antimalware Service". Every time, I also have tried to sort them differently but it wont work.
All I see in the event viewer is a warning:
"Application 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\Client\Antimalware\MSASCui.exe' (pid 1964) cannot be restarted - Application SID does not match Conductor SID.."
    And then later an error:
    HRESULT:0x80070643
Description:Cannot complete the System Center Endpoint Protection installation. An error has prevented the System Center Endpoint Protection setup wizard from completing successfully. Please restart your computer and try again. Error code:0x80070643. Fatal
    error during installation.
This is the deployment from Altiris:
    powershell.exe -noexit "& 'C:\Temp\ForefrontSCEP.ps1'"
    Does anyone has any clue?
    Cheers!

    Start-Process -FilePath C:\Temp\SCEPClient_New\scepinstall.exe -ArgumentList "/s /q /policy C:\Temp\SCEPClient_New\ServerSCEP.xml" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue

I finally solved, in two ways.
    For the powershell part:
I changed the name match against a filter function. So now I can deploy the powershell script just fine.
    $app = Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Product | Where-Object {
$_.Name -match "Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Agent"
    $application = Get-WMIObject Win32_Product -filter "Name='Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Agent'"
    2nd solution:
I also created a batch file which worked at my first try. Gotta love the old fashion way :)
I post it here as well, maybe somebody can get use of it.
Uninstall Forefront - Install SCEP - Copy local exclusions

  • Zen Agent and "Workstation Only"?

We're using the Zen 6.5sp2 agent and NO CLIENT in our remote locations.
Users are consistently choosing to login to the local workstation without
authenticating to eDir, which causes obvious difficulties in
package/policy distribution. I would like to do one of two things:
    1. Set the Agent to default to Workstation Only = 0 so that the Agent
doesn't remember the last setting -OR-
    2. Remove the "Workstation Only" checkbox from the login (I found this reg
key) and then REDUCE the network timeout.
    Any suggestions?

I don't have the collection of settings on me but I can get them.
What I did in clientless environments is to enable "PassiveMode" on the
clients so that the MS GUI was shown and not the NWGina.
With the MS Gina, users would just automatically login to E-Dir in the
    background through the middle-tier.
There would never even be an option for them to not log into E-dir.
At http://www.zenworks.com there is a Group Policy maintained by Shaun
Pond for the Novell Client that I suspect would also include the
required settings for ZEN as well but I am not sure.
I would check it out. I dont have the link but it should not be hard.
I presume a GP would be an easy way to keep the settings you want.
