Scripting Bookmarks & Hyperlinks in iWorks Pages

Am I correct in assuming the AppleScript dictionary for iWorks Pages has no hooks for scripting either bookmarks or hyperlinks?
Tell me I'm senile, unobservant, need another latte and have missed something obvious... Please.

Yes, it looks that way. Similarly, there's no support for page numbers, page count, date/time, placeholder text, address book fields, or comments.

Scripting Indent Levels in iWorks Pages

I'm getting inconsistent results from
tell application "Pages"
tell front document
set theIndent to indent level of paragraph 1 of body text
end tell
end tell
When it works, it returns an integer 1 greater than the indent level (i.e., 1-10 for indent levels 0-9, respectively. But that I can of course easily compensate for.
But frequently I get what seem to be random results. With the example above executing on a simple document, I can get change the result report by changing the indent level of paragraph, then changing it back.
I'm moderately new to AppleScript. Am I missing something, or is this a bug?

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I suspect I have a corrupt file. I can't reproduce the problem on any other document. I exported the ill-mannered doc to plain text, plugged it into a new document, and so far it's behaving itself.
Unfortunately, it's 1,300 pages long. At least I can script resetting the 8 different paragraph styles it uses according to content.
Which would go much faster but for this quandary...

Pages 5.0: Where is the Bookmarks/Hyperlinks panel?!

I swear I've looked everywhere. I hate the new "inspector" window. I need the bookmarks/hyperlinks/etc panel. I do documenting work for a couple of elderly couples, and I need to have a "table of contents" with hyperlinks to positions in the document. (Trust me, there's no way of teach all but one of them any other way.)
Please help!
If it's possible to revert to Pages 09, that'd be lovely. I don't have iWork or anything, I don't think. I just bought Pages off of the App Store on my MacBook Pro.

Apple has removed bookmarks along with over 90+ features in Pages 5.
The hyperlinks aree largely broken and buggy.
If you had it before Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.

External Hyperlink behavior in iBooks ePub created with iWork Pages

I am new at ePup publishing. I'm using iWork pages and exporting to ePub. Things were going great until........
I started playing with the hyperlinks in my ePub book in iBooks. I am doing this with an iPad and an iPod Touch. I'm in iBooks, I click on the link, the Safari browser opens and displays the page. As far as I know, I have to close the browser window to get back to the book. I do this by pressing the home button on the device. Now I have a blank screen. I have to open iBooks again to get back to the book.
This is a bunch of work for the reader of my book, I want them to see a bunch of images. this is awful. It is not acceptable.
Is this an ePub problem or an iBook reader problem? My guess is iBooks but I'm not sure
The system should have the facility to look at the external page within iBooks and press an X button to close it so the reader can continue reading.
So now I'm thinking I will need to go back and insert all the images in my book. I think I will proceed to do this once I know for sure there is no better course of action.
Smart and knowledgeable people, please tell me, is there a better way to let my reader see images without a bunch of button pressing?

iBooks only syncs purchased books. Others must be synced in iTunes.

Has anyone been able to get a book's internal bookmark hyperlinks working when exporting the book as PDF?

When a PDF-version of a book is viewed within Preview, bookmark hyperlinks do not work, but they do work on iPad.
In this support page, Apple states that hyperlinks should work.
Has anyone got a successful workaround that doesn't involve adding hyperlinks, one by one, via Preview?

Hi Ken.
By "Preview", I refer to the Apple Preview app on my iMac; 'Preview' displays the PDF but the hyperlinks within the PDF will not link through to their respective pages throughout the book. Each hyperlink displays underlines, and the 'hyperlink' mouse icon displays when hovering over a hyperlink. It's just that the links won't work. There are hundreds of bookmarks, so adding these manually from within 'Preview' is not a viable option.
Any thoughts?

Bookmark hyperlinks not working within PDF

I have added hundreds of bookmarks and created hyperlinks to each one. The hyperlinks function from within iBooks Author but as soon as I export to PDF, the hyperlinks stop working.
From within the PDF the hyperlinks appear as underlined text, and the curser changes to indicate that a hyperlink is present. But clicking on a link does nothing. However, external hyperlinks (to websites: e.g. http://www.site.com) function OK.
I have opened the PDF within Preview, Adobe Reader and also within various iPads. Apple indicate that bookmarks/hyperlinks work when exporting to PDF, so what am I doing wrong?
I've searched the net for solutions and it appears that I'm not the only one with the same issue - but no solution is present.
Any ideas?

Are you sure that you really entered a link when you created an Hyperlink?
The described one is the one which is used by default by every iWork's components.
We must enter the true one by ourselves.

You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar

Select the text and delete.
If you don't want text in the box, don't use a text box ie in Shapes there are various shapes. Select one without 'T'.

When you follow a hyperlink in Excel, usually it should open in your default browser. You shouldn't have to do anything special in Excel to create the link when Firefox is your default browser compared with IE. However, the Insert Hyperlink dialog might work differently. I think it might be able to automatically pre-populate a URL from IE, while in Firefox, you need to copy the URL from Firefox's address bar and paste it into the Insert Link dialog.

Can't open com.apple.iwork.pages..alt-document

Just updated my iMac to Mavericks along with from iWork '09 to the newest Pages (5.2), Numbers (3.2) and Keynote (6.2). Somehow the vast majority of all my iWork documents got converted to "com.apple.iwork.pages.alt-document". Nothing but Preview will open them. Same for the Numbers documents. For instance, when I try to open the Pages Document called "Cleaning Requirements", I get a pop-up box that says... "\U201CCleaning Requirements\U201Dcan\U2019t be opened." I've right-clicked on the document and tried to open it with the older iWorks Pages app (4.3) with no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you...

Did any Pages '09 files translate successfully?
Do you still have your original files? You will be much better off continuing working in Pages '09 even if you did not have these problems, Pages 5.2 is a PITA.

My iWork (pages and keynote) are not communicating with the iCloud. I haven't changed anything and all of the sudden there is no sync happening. My iCloud account is fine as i can create documents on my iPad and they appear on iCloud.

However, when i change documents on my mac (documents that are supposed to be in the iCloud), the changes do not sync with my other devices nor with iCloud. Even when i create new documents on my mac and save them to iCloud, all seems okay and i can access them from my mac, however they do not show up in the iCloud and i can't access them with my other devices.
Most recent version of mountain lion updated over a month ago. New iPad in use for over a month.

Can anyone help me with the syntax to hyperlink to a page in the current PDF ?
I have not been able to locate any information on this !
This is a fill able XFA form & am attempting a Table of Content TextBox on the Main page with links to different parts of the form.

What I am looking for is something similar to the hyperlink options in Adobe Pro where you can specify a page # to go to.
Unfortunately, LiveCycle only has the option for a URL or an email. And For the URL, it generates an <a href="the URL"> syntax.
Is there a way to get it to generate a <a id=Page3> javascript ?
Or maybe force the <a href=""> to use an Id in the existing document ?

Hi guys can you please assist me with that issue I am describing in the question: How do I navigate from a hyperlink on one page to an anchor within the tab widget? I assume that it is not working because the tab widget is truly just on one page and anchors work within a page but not a specific tab. Is there a way around that?

an interesting question. Anchors work across pages (global) without any problem. Do they work within tabs or any other widgets I haven't tried, but it looks like you have and without success. I can see the temptation for doing this, but if you think about it why would you? Set the anchor on the page next to the tab(s) and hey presto the user needs only click the tab to which the hperlink refers, nothing could be more convenient! Of course, if the user cannot relate the tab to the hyperlink there's a problem. Generally solved by titling (like if the hyperlink is cats, the tab should preferably read cats and not dogs)! It's the only work around i can think of. Hope it helps.
