Scripting error on Portal!

Dear gurus,
I am calling a URL iview on my EP 6.0. When I look at the preview of the iview, it appears fine. When I assign it to a workset and then to a role, it is giving a scripting error. The error goes like this: "Object does'nt support this object or method". However if I see it in separate window, again it is working fine. The URL is basically pointing to a BEx report deployed SAP Netweaver 04s WAS.
Valuable inputs will be definitely rewarded.
Regards,
Pawan.

No problem; download the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header and save it to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.

  • Java Script  Error in portal!

Iam Getting the following javascript error when i access a page in the portal.
    Environment: SAP EP 6.0 SP12 WAS 6.40
Error: 'pageSupport._getIviewBank(...)' is null or not an object.

    Peter,
What kind of iViews you have? I am guessing.. This looks like trying to get it from cache and doesn't find it. Did you turn on any cache for the iViews on the page?
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
Are you accessing the portal with IPAddress?
If so use FQDN (Fully qualified Domain Name), some thing like
    http://yourdomain:51100/irj/servlet/prt/portal
If this does not solve, then first patch to SP20 and then check if it is fixed.

  • BW Error on Portal, Right Click gets (Internet Explorer) Menu

    Hi Experts,
Our Netweaver Portal is 2004s. There is BW system also in the landscape whose reports are fetched and displayed on the portal. I get the errors when I navigate to (Role) -> GroupReports (Workset) -> Cockpit - > Customer Projects -> Plan Cost Quality -> Market Unit.
Now when I click on Market Unit (in detailed Navigation), its generates a Chart (Image) in the content Area which has many Market Units on the screen. From the list of Market Units in this Image I select any Market unit then Right Click on "Market Unit"- >GoTo-> Projects : Plan Cost Quality by Company. (This right Click gets me BW TYPE of options for DrillDown etc).
It processes and gets me the Name of the Market unit in the NAVIGATION BLOCK. In this Navigation Block, if I right Click on "BUYING CUSTOMER", it gets me a Internet Explorer (Right Click) Menu (with options like OPEN, OPEN IN NEW WINDOW, SAVE TARGET AS..., PRINT TARGET etc ) and not a BW iView Menu that allows me facilities like DRILL DOWN etc.
There are these JAVA SCRIPT ERRORS at the bottom of the browser (left Side - with a message "Done but with errors on page"), when this page is loading after I do Right Click on Market Unit"- >GoTo-> Projects : Plan Cost Quality by Company.
Following are the Java Script Errors in order of NEXT:
    1. 'SAPBWJSgdo' is null or not an object
    2. Permission Denied.
Plz suggest what needs to be done to resolve this issue.
    Regards
    Saurabh

  • ERRORS IN PORTAL WHEN DROPPING SCHEMA OWNER

I ran a PDK demo script and added 2 db packages to a schema in the portal repository. After running theses porlets, I decided to attempt to create my own. Prior to adding to the schema I wanted to clean out the old db packages. I thought the easy way would be to drop the user schema and recreate it clean. I attempted to drop the user schema by entering portal as orcladmin, clicking on navigator, then db objects, selected the schema I wanted to drop and it sat there for a few minutes and returned errors. I then opened SQLplus and dropped the user cascade. I noticed that the provider is still in the providers tab list, but can't delete it. I then attempted to re-create the schema using same name and I get additional errors in portal (see upload file: createrror2.jpg. I need to 1) drop the old provider and 2) recreate a new schema and provider that I will use for my portal/portlets.
    Any suggestions.

  • Script error "object required" when log off

I have created a new user and assigned the "Everyone" role to it. I log in to the portal using this new user. Then I press logoff. Then I press OK. Now I get the script error below:
    line:91
    char:8
    Error: Object required
    code:0
    URL: http://.....
any idea why I get this error?
note: I don't get a logoff error when I use the administrator or other user IDs.

    Hi,
you are using a customized masthead. InSP14 SAP changed some Javascript and therefor, the "object" your are colling in your logoff() function is missing. You'll have to comment out this JS call in your masthead. Check the IE error message explanation, it will show you the line where the error occurs.
I've already posted the solution in this forum, but unfortunately, I'm not able to find my previous post

    Hi manjunath,
I had the same error on a similar config (win2k, ie 5). We tried several
other configuration (with newer browsers) and didn't have the same
    experience.
I'm almost sure that the problem is the browser, which is too old and
doesn't support some featrue used by the webapp. If you can do it I
suggest to upgrade to a newer version.

  • Domainsuffix - firefox - IE7 - script errors

I do have a strange problem which is about entering our new portal via http://servername.domainsuffix:50000/irj.
It somehow has to do with our unusual domainsuffix which has no topleveldomain. It looks pretty much like the one above in the example. When entering via http://servername.domainsuffix:50000/irj I get the login page, do the login and come to http://servername.domainsuffix:50000/irj/portal. But there I do get a lot of Script errors.
When entering without domainsuffix like http://servername:50000/irj everything works fine.
But there is one more phenomen. This unwanted behaviour only happens when using our default browser IE7. When using our workaround browser Firefox Version 2.0.0.18 we do not experience this difference. We then are able to go via
    http://servername:50000/irj
    and also via
    http://servername.domainsuffix:50000/irj
One script error we see is about "'EPCM._private.implDSM' ist Null oder kein Objekt".
When I say these errors are about javascript I am not fully sure about this. Maybe it has to do with webdynpro as well.
Solutions like "take the functioning way and don´t care about the rest is not helpful because we need to get it to work with http://servername.domainsuffix:50000/irj in IE7.
some version and patch level infos:
    SAP NetWeaver 2004s,
    SAP_BASIS, level 15
    SAP_BW/SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0, level 17
    Thanks in advance
and of course sorry if in wrong sub forum
    Regards Thomas

I found something helpful in sap note 632440 ([sap note 632440|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1kZSZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=632440]). Solution no. 2 was possible for me. So now I have an additional DNS namespace "local". Under this I put my stupid zone which had no top level domain as a sub zone. And in this I created an alias (CNAME) pointing to the original A record of the server in question. That works in IE7 and in Firefox 3.0.x. So now my not working URL http://servername.domainsuffix:50000/irj/portal works as http://servername.domainsuffix.local:50000/irj/portal
Thanks to the answerers pointing us towards cross site scripting even though the sap note calls it domain barrier. It was not possible to drill the IE7 security that much down that it worked.
Maybe this helps someone else one day.
    Regards
    Thomas
