Scripts missing from Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables

I updated my Tiger system to Leopard, and in general all is well, however, there are no scripts in Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables. I believe there should be at least two, test-cgi and printenv. In fact, I can't find these anywhere on Leopard. Can anyone point me to copies of these scripts? I did not try to use Web Sharing until after upgrading to Leopard, if I put my own script into Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables, my browsers do access it correctly.

I have none in either Tiger or Leopard, but then I've never run a webserver. Have you backed up your Tiger installation. If so, copy them from there. If not, bad juju.

  • Files missing from library after archive and install

    Hi forum folk
any help you could give would be much appreciated.
I can't seem to verify my permissions on HD. I have run disk utility both from finder and from my OSX startup disk and consistently get the error message "Disk Utility has lost its connection with the Disk Management Tool and cannot continue." I then reinstalled the operating system all together making sure to archive and install as well as archive previous network and preference settings. This means I am running 10.3.4 at the moment (and I can't verify any of the software updates at the moment). After reinstalling I still cannot verify my permissions, so now I am trying to back up all my files so that I can reinstall the OSX again, erase everything, and start from scratch. But I'm running into some very strange problems while doing this. select files are missing from ~/library. there is no Safari file, for example. I tried looking in HD/previous systems/library where my library files were saved before I reinstalled the operating system but there is no such folder in there either. this means all of my bookmarks are gone. additionally, under library/preferences (in both the old and new library folders) there is no file named com.apple.itunes.plst. so all of my itunes playlists are gone as well. these are the only missing files I have found thus far and i can't explain why they selectively would not have been saved after the archive and install. Everything else seems to be intact. Any ideas?
    thanks

    jbeep:
my HD has a capacity of 8.85 GB available. When I reinstalled panther I had little more than 3 GB available (I deleted a bunch of unneeded things since then)
Thanks for this update. What is the total formatted capacity of your HDD? I ask because I suspected that you might be cutting it pretty close. The rule of thumb is that you should have 10-15% of your total capacity available as free space. My personal rule is 15%-20%. This allows for more efficient perfomrance of OS X.
I am in the process of backing up everything on my seagate combo USB 2.0/firewire 200 GB external (I am using the firewire cord)
Having an up-to-date backup is one of the primary rules, often observed more in the breach than not. Since you have an HDD that supports Firewire, I suggest that you make a bootable clone of your entire HDD using SuperDuper. You can then use this backup as an emergency boot drive. However, it must be Firewire, as PPC Macs don't boot from USB devices.
I also have heard that it is advisable to reinstall the OS "every now and again" and I hadn't done this for at least two years. was I ill-advised?
Most experienced Mac users never re-install, except under dire circumstances. Since installing my new HDD in this computer I have never re-installed. Re-installation is the utlimate intrusive measure, and it exposes one to all kinds of issues, from lost data, to flawed installaton, to installations that fail midstream. Re-installation is not an effective maintenace procedure. Here are some helpful links in terms of maintenance:
Mac OS X 10.3/10.4: System maintenance
    Macintosh OS X Routine Maintenance
    Maintaining OS X.
I'm going to restart now and try and verify my permissions again using the procedure on the above link. I'll let you know what happens.
Instead of verifying permissions, just go ahead and Repair Disk Permissions. Verifying permissions does nothing, and wastes your time, as it is difficult to tell whether you need to repair, and you have to repair anyway.
Do post back with an update of your progress and any further questions or comments.
    Good luck.

  • Photoshop CS6 Startup Script Missing from Bridge CC

Hi. After downloading a Photoshop CS6 update, Camera Raw unlinked from Bridge CS6. I have a full CC subscription so I downloaded Bridge CC and that solved the problem. Now Photoshop does not appear in the 'tools' menu. It is missing from the Startup Script list in preferences as well. Where can I find or download the photoshop script?
    On a mac, using Mavericks.
    Thank you!

    Bump. Any solutions yet?
restart Bridge holding down option (Mac) or ctrl (Win) key ad from the menu choose reset references. Try again. BTW, the start up scripts from the needed applications for Bridge Tool menu are in Bridge preferences / Start up scripts, they should show and have a checkmark in front of them.

  • Reinserting Preview/Images missing from  Library and Project

After ingesting my images from CF reader into a project, I started working on them. For some reason after working on them for awhile, I started noticing that previews were missing from the project. I looked in the Library and they were not there either. However, when I looked in to the project folder (via the Aperture "folder" in Finder), the images and associated Aperture information files were all there in their respective folders.
I'm not sure how I lost/deleted so many images from my folder and Library (I may have accidently deleted a stack, but when I searched the number of images missing I know I could not have accidently deleted that many that way if I did). But since the files are still on my hard drive in their respective folders, in the right location, is there a way to bring them back into Aperture?
    Thanks,
    Ed

bump...if anyone can tell me that would be great. I know it sounds like a dumb question, but for the life of me I cannot do any command - import, etc. - that can get these files that reside in the actual folder to show up in Aperture's Library or its original project.
    Thx,
    Ed

  • Songs on my iphone are missing from library, how do I load them back in?

I noticed when I was about to back up my iphone that some of the songs on my phone are missing from my library. They appear not to be on my Windows based computer either. Can I "push" or create a new library for the songs on my iphone?

  • Apps missing from Library sidebar after 10.1 update

Installed 10.1 yesterday and ever since the apps selection from the library is missing.
I experienced problems installing 10.1 yesterday, would not run via the update selection from within iTunes.
Instead, I manually downloaded and ran each component separately.
That was when I first noticed the problem.
I have completely uninstalled iTunes and all related programs.
    Re-installed iTunes 10.1, no change.
I have reverted to a previous library file, no change.
All the apps still exist in the iTunes/MobileApplication folder.
    Any ideas?

Sorted. In Edit/Preferences, General tab, Sources, the "Apps" checkbox was unselected. Lots of options there now - is this new?
Not sure why it got unselected...

  • Aperture 3.5 projects: Some are missing from Library listing

I use Aperture 3.5.1 with OS 10.9.2, and I have studied the various pages of Aperture manuals, and read quite a few Questions, and I think I understand the difference between projects and albums and between managed and referenced files. But I am puzzled about a few project locations.
To the left of the Aperture display window is a vertical pane about 2 inches wide, with tabs labeled "Library, Info, Adjustments."
In that left-hand pane of the window, under the tab “Library” is a heading “APERETURE LIBRARY-MASTER”  and under that is the icon of “Projects”. When I select this, the right hand portion of the full window shows thumbnails representing of all my projects. These are organized by year and for each year, by date. This is the organization that Aperture did when I imported the photos, mostly from cameras. Fine.
In that left hand pan, under  the Library tab, further down, there is a heading “PROJECTS”. It shows a list of folders and albums and projects.
I see that in this library there are folders marked 2011 and 2012. In each of those there are folders for the months. In 2012 these include   “May”, “Jun UK", "Jun US", “Jul" and others. When I select any of these the associated thumbnails are all visible in the main display window to the right.
In the 2012 > Jun UK folder are 5 projects, with dated names such as "Jun 06, 2012 Chicheley". The word “Chicheley” and “UK" I added, but the rest of the structure 2012 > Jun was created by Aperture when I imported the photos.
However, and here is what puzzles me. In the thumbnail display to the right, of several hundred projects, there are 15 contiguous projects, all from June 2012,  that are not listed in the library panel  of projects in the Library tab pane at the left.
I can look at the “info” tab and see what the “Project Path” is for any photo. To judge by the badges, All of my photos are managed, not referenced.  Indeed, I cannot find any photos in my Aperture library that are referenced.
The projects that show up in the Library listing at the left pane have Project paths that start with a year, for example
    2012 > Jun UK > Jun 06, 2012
The projects that do not show up in the Library listing have names such as
Jun UK Chicheley > Jun 05, 2012 Aston
At the top of the Library pane is a search box. It finds Jun 06 but not Jun 05.
I have looked inside the Aperture Library package and I see the organization there for the projects that show up in the library listing. But that is missing the days that are not in the listing — it is missing the projects that show up in the main window but not in the Library list..
Those thumbnailed of the missing projects are of photos that are not referenced, I have used the main menu at the top of the screen to check that.
I can edit all the photos, wherever they may be. No problem. But why do all the projects not show up in the library listing?  Where are they?
I have used EasyFind to search for a folder “Jun UK Chicheley”, allowing search in packages, but did not find it. Same problem with any of the other 15 projects that show up in PROJECTS  on the right, but not in the Library listing on the left.
I may have  imported the missing projects not from the camera but from a travel Aperture library, using the import library option.
Maybe I should select all of these photos and then do a “Consolidate”. I have read about this, in the Manual and in the Suppport questions,  but it is not clear whether that will do what I want. I see that Consolidate is something I can do for any of my photos, not just for those that are not shown in the library. So what happens with Consolidate of a photo that is already in the listing of projects? Should I choose “copy” or “move”? If I choose “move” then what happens to whatever collection these came from?
“Show in Project” and “Show in Finder” seem to be unavailable for all of my photos.
    I will appreciate help.

What you're seeing when you try to view the original file is the warning that iPhoto had broken the file path/link to the orignal file.  Try this: make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Imported Music is missing from library

I've recently started having problems seeing imported music in my iTunes library.
I put a CD into my computer, and the CD is visible within iTunes in the devices Tab, as normal. I import the CD, and can watch the tracks as they are added to my computer (in the devices tab). However, after the import is completed, the tracks are not visible in the Library:Music window. The files are there on my hard drive (I can see the .m4a files in Music-->iTunes-->iTunes Music), and the folders are appropriately named by artist, but after I eject the CD I can't find them within iTunes. All of my old music is there, just not the new stuff.
I've tried moving the file of the music from the iTunes folder onto my desktop, and then adding it back into iTunes. I get the window saying the files are being copied into my iTunes library, and they go back into the iTunes folder, but I still can't see them from within iTunes. I can even drag and drop the files onto my iPod within the Devices tab within iTunes, and add the music to my iPod that way, but I don't know why I can't see the tracks in my Library:Music.
This has only become a problem within the last week, but I don't think I've changed any preferences that would cause this problem.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm having the same problem, it started like 2 days ago! Songs that I imported from burned CD's a few years ago are suddenly not available on iTunes because iTunes can't find them. And I can't remember their file paths either, so that's a bit of an issue...
A few songs that I downloaded from random sites are also missing...is this a temporary iTunes bug?

  • Purchased album missing from library

I purchased an album yesterday on my PC and synched it to my iPod. Today I went to sync my phone and the album is gone. It is still appearing in my list as "Purchased" but I can't make it appear in my library and can't redownload it. I definitely didn't delete it. Any help please?

I managed to fix the problem.
    Here's what I did.
    1. Copy the purchased album folder and files from the iTunes directory to a different location (Desktop), then delete the whole purchased album from iTunes.
    2. Missing track still does not show as an available download, so iTunes thinks it still exists.
    3. Locate track that iTunes thinks is the missing track (it's a ripped CD).
    4. Copy the whole ripped album to the desktop, then delete the album from iTues.
    5. Missing purchased track now shows in the Store as an available song. Re-download the whole album.
    6. Add copy of ripped album back into iTunes.
    7. Enjoy.
Trouble is, I expect this may happen with other songs/albums, and I fear my iTunes library has been corrupted. Something else to investigate. :-(

  • Vbs script called from a service cannot execute certain commands

We have a service, running as domain admin user on Win Svr 2008 std ed, that must execute vb scripts.  The scripts execute, but calls to SETX.exe using Shell.Run fail to set environment variables.  However, SETX returns no errror
    msg.
If I run the same script within a CMD window with elevated privilege (e.g. Administrator), the script works as expected and environment variables are set.
What is going on?  File creation fails as well.
    The call looks like this:
    gnReturnCode= RunCmd("setx.exe UD_UPGRADING_RELEASE "True" /m",True)
    Where RunCmd is as follows:
' Function:  RunCmd( ByVal strCmd, ByVal bWait)
' desc: Execute a command string and wait for result if indicated
Function RunCmd( ByVal strCmd, ByVal bWait)

I did the following and am providing comments on each:
Run setx.exe from a Command Prompt.
RESULT: This works and can be seen by new processses regardless of privilege provided they are done under the same credentialed user.
Run a really simple script from the Command Prompt, e.g. the one below, and check if it works.
    Set oWshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    sCMD = "cmd /c setx.exe Test %time% /m"
    wscript.echo "Error code=" & oWshShell.run(sCmd, 0, true)
RESULT:  This works and result can be seen by new processes regardless of privilege provided they are done under the same credentialed user.  My attempts to user another credentialed user failed with a permission to access reegistry path not
    granted.
Run the same script as a scheduled task, using the same account as you use for your service, then check if it worked.
RESULT:  Script ran, but only new processes with elevated privilege could see the change.  New processes without elevated privilege could not see the change.  I had to log out and log back in for new processes without elevated privilege
    to pick up the change.
Run that script as a service, then check again if it worked.
RESULT:  Script ran, but only new processes with elevated privilege could see the change.  New processes without elevated privilege could not see the change.  I had to log out and log back in for new processes without elevated privilege
    to pick up the change.

P.S.  I also created an application that gets called after the the script has made environment variable changes.  It broadcasts the WM_SETTINGCHANGE message.  I did this in hopes that something would refresh in the Windows OS allowing non-privileged
users to see the change.  It did not help.  Here's the C++ line that I executed:
    LRESULT error1 = SendMessageTimeout(HWND_BROADCAST, WM_SETTINGCHANGE, 0, (LPARAM)
    "Environment", SMTO_ABORTIFHUNG,
    5000, &dwReturnValue);

  • File dates and names missing from library

I have recently had my hard drive replaced and started afresh. My old copy of iPhoto library downloaded photos into separate files by date order and showed the roll name I assigned. I could click on a little arrow on the left to show or hide the photos.
In case this is relevant - when I got my computer back it didn't have iPhoto on it (just about everything else was there, such as iTunes, etc) so I put my disc in again and downloaded iPhoto from the disc. Now all photos go into the library and automatically sort into year files, but they are not organised into separate roll dates and I cannot hide the photos any more and just show a list of roll names.
I tried downloading iPhoto_715.dmg, but this message appears "An eligible iPhoto application was not found in the location /Applications."
Sorry I am not really very computer literate and just don't understand what is going on.... any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Linda.

Have you explored the options under the View menu?
I tried downloading iPhoto_715.dmg, but this message appears "An eligible iPhoto application was not found in the location /Applications."
To upgrade to a later version of iPhoto requires that you purchase the relevant iLife package.

  • Lots of music missing from library

    Hello,
I keep all my music on an external HD (not enough space on the internal). I just installed iTunes 7.02. But for some reason, it won't display the music on the external HD in my library. I tried the Apple instructions for re-creating my library, and that didn't work. If I go to Change Music Folder Location under Preferences, it shows that it's already pointing to the external. How do I get iTunes working properly again?
    Thanks for any help.
iMac G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   iMac 400Mhz SE, Video iPod 60GB, JBL Creature, Airport Express

I have the SAME problem! I have over 6,000 songs on my ipod (were on my computer) until I pulled songs from my external drive into my itunes music folder. Now, my internal HD says I have all the music there (approx. 40 GB) but itunes doesn't see all of them. I tried dragging my whole music folder into the itunes window and it only copied around 2,000 for some reason. I REALLY need all my music back- it took a REALLY long time getting all those songs off my CD's! Any suggestions out there are GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks!

  • Error: DAQ-STC Counter functions missing from library

Using LabView 6.1, NI-DAQ 6.6.1 for MacOS on a laptop.
    DAQ Hardware: DAQCard 16E-4.
When trying to use the advanced counter functions (for DAQ-STC type counters), LabVIEW generates an error saying that it can't find the function in the library. The code interface nodes for the VIs don't seem to be attached to anything. I've installed the latest version of DAQ Drivers for Mac; am I missing something here? Any insight into this problem would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    jdk

    Hi jdk,
I think it could be just an installation issue. I assume that you are using Mac 9.1. I've run LV 6.1 with NIDAQ 6.6.1 on Mac 9.1 and it works just fine, including DAQ-STC counter functions.
If LabVIEW 6.1 was installed without DAQ support, run the LabVIEW 6.1 installer and perform a custom installation for DAQ support. Then, run
    the NI-DAQ 6.6.1 installer to upgrade NI-DAQ.
    Hope this helps.

  • Content Missing from Library List

I just encountered a strange problem with my iTunes library that after searching the support communities for awhile I wasn't able to find an answer for.  So here goes, I just imported a video into iTunes (10.5.3, 64 bit) which I had just updated from 10.5.2 the day before.  The video is a handbrake encoded video .m4v, iTunes is set to copy into the iTunes library and I do find the video in the iTunes library folder for movies, the new file shows up in my home sharing library list as I can play the file from another computer, it also shows up in the "Recently Added" playlist, I can play it in iTunes from there and I can edit it as well, for instance changing from a movie to TV Show media type moved the files to the TV section of the library but for the life of me I cannot find the files in the Movies, Music, TV Shows or Books section of iTunes.  Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on with this and what I can do to correct the problem?
    TIA
    Ron

I am experiencing the same issue.
