Vertical Scroll bar missing on opening any website in firefox nightly 38.0a1

On Mac the scroll bars can be hidden and only have them show when you scroll the page so you can see the current scroll position.
The idea is that a touch pad is used that doesn't require the scroll bars to be visible and thus have more screen estate for the browsing area.
You can make the scroll bars always visible:
System Preferences > General > Show Scroll Bar > Choose "Always"
You can try to delete the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

  • Why does my website have no scroll bars?

I made this website with dreamweaver - http://quantumsuite.site90.net/new/
The only problem is that there are no scrollbars (I know that my content goes off the end of the page).
I have tried this website in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and IE and none of them display the website correctly (therefore meaning that there is something wrong with the website itself).
At first I thought this was to do with the Flash content at the top of the page, but even after I removed it there were still no scroll bars.
Thanks in advance for any help.
(BTW the main stylesheet is http://quantumsuite.site90.net/new/css/main.css . (also nav.css)

iPhone 4S - who is your carrier.
There are some things we can try.
look on the right hand side of the phone -remove the simcard -re-insert the simcard - test.
    If that doesnt work.
then go to settings>general>reset>reset network settings- Test.
    hows that working so far?

  • Would an issue with Adobe Reader XI be the reason I would not have a scroll bar or another way to navigate a list on a website that requires Adobe?

The publisher of our text books have an online resource we use to access materials that requires the use of Adobe Reader. For the past few days I have been unable to navigate through the site because there is not a scroll bar or any method to move through the list using the navigation bookmarks provided for that purpose.  I have spoken, at length, with the online support team at the publishing company, and we have tried many trouble shooting steps.  The technician I was working with also checked on the Adobe website to see if he could find anything else.  He and I are both at a loss.  As the problem doesn't seem to be on his end (the publisher, website, etc) or my end (my settings for PDF on my computer, version of Adobe, platform, etc.), I am hoping someone might have an idea of how to help solve this issue.

My operating system is Windows 7,  I've tried both Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, and the Reader version is 11.0.09.  In Chrome, the Adobe PDF plugin has been enabled and "always allow" has been selected.  The Chrome PDF viewer had been disabled.  The adjustments have also been made in Firefox to use Adobe Acrobat.
I appreciate any help or advice you are able to offer.

  • Published website and the scroll bar is missing in Firefox

I have published a website through iWeb and mobile.me. Everything looks pretty good in Safari, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. The problem I am having and cannot resolve is that the side scroll bar that allows you to scroll to the bottom of the page in Firefox is missing!
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you fix it?
    Thanks for your help!!

    Hi
Do you have 3rd party Glims installed? If so, make sure you have the latest version (v 20).
I used to see the scroll problem more frequently. I haven't of late. Never determined what causes it, however older versions of Glims (since it alters Safari functions) may be one possible cause.
Only workaround I've seen is to quit the tab in question, then reopen another tab and reload the page missing the scroll bar. Tabs ought to appear.
If you don't have 3rd party add-ons, send feedback to Apple via the Safari Menu>Report Bugs to Apple.

  • Scroll bar disapeared on all websites

I upgraded and now have no vertical right-hand scroll bar on any websites I go to, including this one. Any ideas?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • The horizonal scroll bar is not there on some websites.

The horizontal scroll bar is missing when i visit some websites. Here is one of the websites, but there are plenty of others: http://www.fixya.com/support/t23137801-cannot_connect_android_tablet_arris
I know there is content to the left or right of the screen portion I can see because I can get to it using the arrow keys on some websites. On other websites, the arrow keys don't move the screen but I know there is content over to the side because I can see the edges of pictures and buttons.
I tested two other browsers on the example website I referred to above. Internet Explorer does not have the problem, Chrome has the same problem with the scroll bar as Firefox does.
This problem is tolerable on the websites were the arrow keys are a substitute, but on other sites, it makes the website useless.
I have disabled all browser extensions and that did not solve the problem. Changing screen resolution has no effect on the problem. I am using Windows XP on a ten year old desktop. Windows updates are installed automatically.
    McGyver

You have solved the problem. It is just an oddball glitch in code of that website and a few others, or in Firefox. Following your suggestion, I used the Ctrl+ and Ctrl- function on the example website. Repeated use of the Ctrl- reduces the content down to a size that can be viewed without scrolling, and there is, of course, no scroll bar. Then I used the Ctrl+ function and increased the size of the content so that it is bigger than the physical screen. At the point, the bottom scroll bar should appear but does not. However, if I keep going with the Ctrl+ several more times, increasing the size of the content, a scroll bar eventually appears. Strange, but harmless if you know the work-around.
    Thanks for the help.

  • In Firefox 5.0.1, why are websites off-center now? And where are the scroll bars?

After updating to Firefox 5.0.1, website content presents off-center, font sizes are either too big or too small, and the scroll bars are missing. I am running OSX 10.5.8 on a Mac Mini.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • On every website, my right vertical scroll bar is missing and all of my Toolbar bookmarks unless I minimize the window, click "view" and "full page." How do i get it back to NORMAL?

When I hit "full page" the right vertical scroll bar re-appears, but my bookmark toolbars, my bing bar, and pretty much the entire top 2 inches of my screen disappears. When all of these things are showing, the right vertical scroll bar disappears, and the entire webpage shifts to the right, so I can't see most of the right side of the page. How do I fix this?

  • Firefox Doesn't Load Any Website and Scroll Bar Switches to the Left Side of the Screen??

First let me say this is a work computer that I am using, so there is plenty of virus protection and firewall. I have always used firefox for all my casual internet browsing and work network needs. I recently updated to the latest version of firefox and that is when I started having problems. Almost any web page I go to wether it is my work intranet home page or a common site such as google mozilla will not finish loading the page. If I hit refresh or try to go to another site it gets wierd and the scroll bar switches to the left side of the screen and the page seems to be stuck loading. At this point almost nothing responds to any mouse clicks except for closing the firefox window. If I go to tools --> options it brings up a blank options window with only the "ok" and "cancel" buttons displayed. Help please, I don't like using IE, but right now that is my only option.

  • I would like to know it it's possible to change the scroll bar from the right part of the firefox browser, to the left part and, if it's possible, how can it be done. Thank you!

The scroll bar (the one used to scroll up and down any kind of website), that is normally in the right part of the firefox browser, would be of much help to me if it could sometimes be moved to the left part of the browser. Is this possible? How can it be done? Can anybody tell me the exact steps to take in order to do this (if it is possible of course)? This would be helpfull to me, since I think that the firefox scroll bar is overlaping the scroll part of the facebook chat sidebar, since I just can see a few people on this facebook chat sidebar and I can´t scroll along it, as I could a while ago. So my guess is that the firefox scroll bar is covering the other. In order to solve it in a simpler way, I guessed that if the firefox scroll bar could be moved to the left side of the browser, this problem could be solved. So, can anybody help me?

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/layout.scrollbar.side
Type '''about:config''' in Location (address) bar
    filter for '''layout.scrollbar.side'''
Right-click the Preference and Modify it to '''3'''
You may need to reload any pages open to have scrollbar move to left after Preference change.
