Scroll Bar Arrows

I've got a document with multiple scenes, and in the 2nd
scene I have a dynamic text, multi-line field with a scroll bar
that works just fine. However, when I try the same thing in other
scenes the roller bar doesn't have arrows and the text is no longer
dynamic. Has anyone else has this problem or the solution?

I answered my own question, if anyone else has this problem,
remember to put the scroll bar IN the text field.

  • How Do I Get back scroll bar arrows Back

Is there a way to get back scroll bar arrows back in OS 10.8.4  ? Thats all.

Newer systems might also provide different functionality instead of just more.
There are many cases where Apple has changed things (taken away here, given something different there) and with good results.
However I agree with you bernuli:  (Mountain) Lion has been a disaster in many ways.  At least to me.  I produce information and want to be productive with precision and speed.  I know how to spell and I know what I am looking at.  So I want all animations OFF, all spelling checking OFF, all horrible yellow "tooltips" OFF and so on.
Just today I have finally switched, after more than two years ago buying a machine specially for Lion and figuring out how to live with it.  I can still feel my blood pressure rise, despite a lot of tweaking in those two years.  I want those little arrows back (using TinkerTool I had both of them at the top and both at the bottom!)  The keyboard arrows are NOT a replacement.
You will be assimilated into the touch-interface world, resistance is futile.

  • Scroll Bar arrows Gone?

The verical scoll bar arrows are no longer there on OS X 10.7.
Any way in System prefs or Safari prefs to get them back?

Installed Lion today. Started testing out applications and I miss and still need the scroll bar arrows.
I use several applications where the arrows on the scroll bar allow small movement as one line, especially important when copying several different sections of several paragraphs in Word, picking and choosing file movement in Spring Cleaning, or seeing just how far your object is off the printable field in Visio.
I do love the touch functions of my iPhone but this will just not work on a desktop workstation.
Does someone know if Apple will look at these comments with some interest in keeping those of us that have used Apple hardware since the Apple II happy?
Well for now, I'm just moving back to Snow Leopard. So much for progress.

  • No scroll bar arrows in some Safari apps - is there a recent update on these much missed arrows?

I know, I know, there has been much discussion on these arrows.  I have read most of it.  But I am still using OS 10.6.8 and the arrows are missing in ALOT of the sites I use (Safari 5.1.10) (I have arrows in this forum and am thankful for it!).  Yes, the up and down arrows work.  No, there is no "General" in my System Preferences.  Yes, I want the scroll bar arrows back everywhere!  Writing to Apple won't help cause I don't plan on updating to any new version in the near future!
    Thanks!
P.S.  I know I am late to the discussion - please don't roll your eyes when you see this!

No, there is no "General" in my System Preferences.
System Preferences - click and hold the 'Show All' button to see if General is listed there.

  • My scroll bar arrows disappeared after my cat 11 lb cat lay on the keyboard. Cac anyone help?   keyboard

I am using Lion and had no problems. Then my 11 lb cat decided to lie on the keyboard. She turned on the accessibility,  keeping me from scrolling, but I turned that off. After what she did my scroll bar arrows vanished. My mouse has a scroll wheel but on some pages I need to use the bar. Any advice?

Yes.....be sure to feed the cat hairball control treats every other day and keep it groomed.

  • Scroll bar arrows in Lion?

Just curious if anyone knows if there is a way to get up and down arrows back at the bottom of the scroll bars in Lion? I'm using a trackball mouse so it's a little annoying having to click and drag on that tiny little scroll bar...
Thanks for any insight you can share!
    Charlie

You can click on the space above or beyond the scroll bar. That faster than clicking on the arrows.
In the common preferences menue there are some options.
But Apple is proud of it's multitouch thing, the mouse now is from yesterday... ;-)
    Best regards
    Kevin

  • Scroll bar arrows lockup application

Using an app that utilizes Java to show an image window with scrollbars. When the scrollbar arrows are used, the application locks up. If you just drag the scroll bar, the app works fine. Client platforms are Win XP Pro, Win 2000, Win server 2003. The app may work fine for months, then all of a sudden start having problems. The issue is not java version specific, but we are fairly certain that the problem is java related. Any ideas?

Tried that but still scroll are not coming.

  • No double-scroll bar arrows in iTunes 7

I like a lot about 7, (gapless playback, hooray!) however I'm disappointed that the trick to add arrows to both ends of the scroll bar ( there are many pages that describe this, here's one ) does not affect iTunes 7. There are only one set of arrows.
Others seem to confirm this, but I've not found a workaround/remedy.
Anyone know if there another way to do this?

I can't believe that after 7 versions, support for keyboard access in dialog boxes still hasn't been enabled. No sheets, either. iTunes has always felt like a glorified port of a Classic app.

  • Suddenly I can not select anything within the top inch or so of any web page. The scroll bar arrow doesn't work at the top. I don't know what to do. I tried updating my browser but the problem still exists.

Everything worked fine on Tues. I shut down my system and then on Wed. morning, the problem appeared. Anything within the top inch or so of a webpage is unavailable to select. It is like there is an inch of the page that is dead. It is that way on every website that I visit with Firefox. It does not happen if I use internet explorer, which I do not like and do not want to have to go back to using. Please help!!! My sister in law has the same problem with firefox.

  • The right side scroll bar on firefox no longer has an up and down arrow after my last update. I have to fix this! Please help!

After my last update with Firefox, my right-hand scroll bar no longer has up and down arrows. I really need to get them back. I'm using a Mac laptop.

So the whole button is missing. I have no idea how to fix the default theme, since it is inside omni.ja, which is not accessible from just any archive handler, and I have not found any way to open it. My problems were with third party themes, and I managed to fix those by editing parts of the themes.
Maybe you could set up scrollbars yourself by using a userChrome.css file plus images. You could get some tips by opening third party themes and looking at their scrollbars.css files.

  • In Lion, why did Apple remove the up/down arrows in the scroll bars?  There is currently no way to move up and down in small increments.  WHY????

Every mac operating system software until Lion had the ability to use up/down arrows in the scroll bar.  This makes it easy to move up and down in small increments.  In Lion, it is impossible to move up and down in small increments.  Click on the scroll bar and it moves up or down an entire page.  When you try to put the curser on the scrollbar and move it up just a little, it moves a whole bunch.  With the up/down arrows, you can click on the arrow and it will scroll ulp or down one line a time.  There is no way to do this in Lion. Why would apple remove the very useful feature of up and down arrows.

    Yes, agreed a missing element.
Did you try using the up / down arrows on the key board.

  • Scroll bar buttons/arrows

Scroll bar buttons (aka arrows) allow for much more precise scrolling than using fingers on a trackpad, dragging the scroll bar, or pressing the arrow keys. These methods are all too jerky, and it's too difficult to scroll to a particular line in a large document. I cannot possibly overstate my frustration resulting from elimination of the buttons. I'm pleading with Apple to restore them. Why not at least make them an option?
Is there some hidden option to get them back or some alternative I'm not aware of?

I do not have any linux system, but located this item:

''Changing 'Appearance/Style' to a different 'style' through

    brought back the arrows.''

  • Down arrow in scrolling  bar has disappeared

On most screens the down arrow in the scrolling bar has disappeared or occupies the same space as the page expansion square in the lower right hand corner. Tried having the up arrow both at the top and at the bottom of the scrolling bar. Diappearance occurs on all screens originating from Firefox. It is available on this screen and most linked pages from Firefox.

Check the properties of the file, in the Initial View Tab > Hide Windows Controls is not checked. You should always be able to scroll with a scrolling mouse.
