Scroll bar behaviour

Hi all!
We've had some complaints from endusers that the SAP scroll bars do not respond until released. Then the content is scrolled. They use scroll bars a lot in TMW (Time Manager Workplace)
They want it to behave like a Windows scroll bar so the contents are scrolled when they move the scroll bar. Not just after releasing the mouse button.
Is it possible to change the behaviour of the scroll bar???

Finder window scroll bar behaviour

Hi folks,
In a finder window in icon view normally I can scroll down to the end, go up to the enclosing folder and then back into the starting window and the scroll bar will be at the bottom, where I left it, which is perfect. Just recently it will always postion itself at the top of the window now, which is annoying to say the least. Any thoughts on why the finder behaviour changes apparently at random. I don't think there is a full moon tonight...

Yes just one more. Playing around with this in Finder, if the window is open wide enough there is no jump back. Least that's how it works for me, and I do keep that 'spring thing' deselected as a matter of course.

Scroll bars in Lion - Not what I was expecting

On upgrading to Lion, which was relatively painless, I was surprised at the lack of control that I now have with the scroll bars. Previous versions have always had some way to increment/decrement position using arrow heads, but Lion doesn't give me any option to do this. I find it deeply frustrating. I can't believe I am th eonly one who is experiencing this so either you all do things differently to me or I haven't figured out the best way to use it (or change it).
I am right in thinking there is no option to change this behaviour?

Hi Tom,
I thought that was the case.
The rest of Lion works fine and I can do everything else so it is only these blasted scroll bars that give me grief.
I do have Snow Leopard backed up on a NAS, and I have the original Snow Leopard disc. All data is double backed so no problem to rebuild if needs be. I'm just amazed that the scroll bars have been so badly designed in a system that gets everything else right.

Horizontal scroll bar missing after switch to Apex 4 theme

Hi,
I upgraded Apex to 4.02 and switch my application theme from old 3.2 theme to new Apex 4.0 theme,
I found that all the Apex 4.02 won't show horizontal scroll if the interactive report width larger than the browser windows width.
Is this the default behaviour of all the 4.0 theme?
How can I change it to display the horizontal scroll bar.

How about editing the template with some css?
something like this should fix your problems (worked fine for me)

Horizontal Scroll Bar in Power Pivot?

Good Afternoon,
I have recently installed PowerPivot and began importing my T-SQL queries into it, unfortunately for queries with a large number of columns, I am unable to see a horizontal scroll bar, although I do have a vertical scrollbar. I can move my cursor to
the right, however it just disappears off screen. Is there any way to add a horizontal scrollbar to the PowerPivot window?

Thanks for providing the screen shot. This behaviour isn't normal; the horizontal scroll bar should definitely by present in this scenario.
Does re-sizing the Power Pivot Window cause the horizontal scroll bar to appear?
Does toggling between the Data View and Diagram View make a difference?
Does disabling and then re-enabling the Power Pivot Add-in make any difference?
Does the same thing happen if you create a new workbook and load the same table?
Have you already tried a repair on your Office installation?

Slide Show on Home Page Creates Scroll bar in browser...

I have created my site, and at the tope of it I have a hero Slider Composition with text in it. But, when I view it in the browser, it scrolls to the right. But, if I delete the composition slide show, the scroll bar disappears. I've tried to re-create the slide show, but it continues to do the same thing, I would really appreciate some help quick, in that my site is live. http://www.serpentsndoves.com

Firstly: Congrats on a very cool web design!!
I had a look at the site, and think that what you are seeing is expected behaviour. You have little control over the width of the browser window a viewer might have set when they are viewing your web page. It can be narrower or wider than the page width you set in Muse:
When the browser window is narrower than the width of the web page, the scrollbar at the bottom for right to left movement appears.
When you make the browser window wider than the width of the web page, the scrollbar will disappear as the full width of the page is displayed.
In contrast, if you were to look at the page on an iPad in landscape, the width of the page will snap to the width of the browser window, as mobile browsers behave differently to desktop browsers.

Scroll bar creation

I am attempting to create a scroll bar for my text and am following the tutorial provided by Adobe.
Problem: I am unable to select parts of the scroll bar (i.e. up arrow, bar, thumb) to convert their behaviour. I have followed the tutorial to the letter, but when it comes time to select each part of the scroll bar I only can select the entire scroll bar...not any one part.

I've come to the same conclusion, it's the software. I had the same results when I ran the project in IE. It worked although the scroll bar was shorter than I had set it, but it worked. When I tried to go back and reset the length, it stopped working. I have shortened my text and reduced the font to make it fit without the scroll bar.
There are a number of other odd things that happen. After spending hours and hours on it, essentially testing the software, it's easy to come the conclusion of 'wonky' software. I love the idea of Flash Catalyst and someday the bugs will be smoothed out, but until then...

Best explained by example:
I have 2000 things of data that I need to populate to a table. This table is being refreshed every 5 seconds. You can imagine the slow down of having to do this. Now, I have method that will allow me to pull out only 25 at a time, and as needed. I want to set up a vertical scroll bar that will allow me to pull out the specific 25 based upon where the scroll bar is at. Like if I scroll half-way, it'll pull out 1000-1025 portions of data. The problem that I'm running into is that I can't get the scrolling to work properly. I've been using the:
m_scrollPane.getVerticalScrollBar().setValues(cur_sel, DATABASE_SPACE, 0, tol_count);tol_count: how many is in the database total
cur_sel: where the scroll bar is at currently
DATABASE_SPACE: how many will populate (for this example, it's 25)
Every time I attempt to scroll, it just resets back to 0, and doesn't even scroll down.
Any and all ideas to help me with this problem would be great! Thanks

Scroll bar does not retain its position after or before pack

My Scroll bar does not retain its position after pack in my application.
But i need to retain its state.
My code snippet is :
System.out.println("VAlue--->" + getHXValue());
scrollPane.getHorizontalScrollBar().setValue(getHXValue());
pack();
My VAlue printed is 100.
But my positon of scroll bar is at 0 th location.
Can any one help me.....

JEditorPane with automated linewrapping and no horizontal scroll bar.

Hello.
I am working with a JEditorPane which is added insisde a JScrollPane, the thing is that i want to have
[1]Automatic line wrapping, although this works good with the method .setText(String str) i am not using that method, instead of that i prefer to have an HTMLDocument object inside the JEditorPane and use the method insertBeforeEnd(...) . When i do that, i do not have automatic line wrapping.
[2]Not having that line wrapping means that i see an ugly scroll bar in the horizontal position, which i want to avoid, since this is for an IM application.
Before i used a JTextArea with the method .setLineWrap(true) and everyghing was ok, so is there any way to do the same in a JEditorPane with an HTMLDocument? Any help will be apreciated.

I have no scroll bar on the right side; how do I get it back?

I followed Co-rel's instructions and got my mail back on the page--thank you-- but there is no scroll bar to scroll through the mail in the inbox. There is a scrollbar on the left to scroll through folders.

The current build of iTunes may occasionally draw the scroll bar off the edge of the screen. It should be possible to resize the window to reveal the scroll bar.
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
Ctrl-B to turn on the menu bar.
Ctrl-S to turn on the sidebar.
Ctrl-/ to turn on the status bar.
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the previous search behaviour.
You can also open the menu bar temporarily by pressing Alt.

PCUI HTML viewer Scroll bar

Hi,
We have a custom HTML viewer as one of the tab in PCUI application.It conntains a vertical scrollbar within it. That means while accessing the page we have two scroll bar one is browser scroll bar and another is within the tab.We don't want the scroll bar within the tab.
If we check standard html viewer tabs ( configuration tab in orders, Questionaire tab) inside scroll bar is not present.
How can we remove the additional scroll bar.

Sorry for bringing up this old topic.. but I did not find any other solution in the forums for my problem:
Currently we are using the PCUI HTML viewer to display a seperate BSP Application on a tab page. Everything works perfect, exccept the fact that I always get the user authentication pop-up when accessing the tab where the html viewer is embedded. Strange thing is, that we are using SSO. If the user logon fails I get an error page, but after that when selecting the tab again the bsp application is displayed correctly without authentication.
Has anyone experienced the same behaviour ? Did i miss something to implement in the BSP ?

ECC6 - SD - Transaction VA41 - scroll bar moves down

Hi,
since the migration of 4.7 to ECC6, we see a problem of display on VA41 transaction(Dympro 4001). We would like to know if it is a normal functioning or a an anomaly.
in ECC 6 :
As soon as we fill a datum on the screen (item overwiew), the scroll bar comes down automatically and move to the bottom, on the last item. The focus moves under the last item.
in 4,7 : The focus moves under the last item and the scroll bar don't move.
Is this behaviour OK in ECC6 ?

Please provide option to display/hide SCROLL BARS

Hello.
My colleagues and I are not happy with Acrobat and Acrobat Read for the reason that, regardless of computer and operating system, these products refuse to show the scroll bars when one opens a PDF in full scrreen mode. There's simply no option anywhere under Preferences or elsewhere in the application to force Acrobat or Acrobat Reader to display the scroll bars. Needless to say, this is exceptionally annoying. We've got hundreds of PDF's saved in full screen mode, and we must be able to use the scroll bars.
Please provide a check box option to display/hide scroll bars under Page Display (or some other preference category) to overide any wonky display behaviour in Acrobat/Reader.

This bug is annoying many users. I'm not so sure it's a backward step; it seems it's easier for someone such as myself with increasingly vague and inexact recollection to find an Address Book entry without needing an accurate starting point for the search. The ability to search by ''any'' part of the address, such as the domain, or the nickname, seems useful to me too.
If you typed "Ken " or "ngs" then you'd likely get the entry you want, wouldn't you?
A more significant bug, IMHO, is that when you have selected Ken's entry, it isn't necessarily the one that gets inserted into the address field.
There is a bug for this and it's being worked on, but I'm not sure you'll get your /^name/ option. You could go back to, say, TBv24.6.

Af:table Scroll bars not displayed in IE11 for large number of rows

Hi. I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.0.
The requirements of our application are to display a table potentially displaying very large numbers of rows (sometimes in excess 3 million). While the user does not need to scroll through this many rows, the QBE facility allows drill-down into specific information in the rowset. We moved up to JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.0 primarily so IE11 could be used instead of IE8 to overcome input latency in ADF forms.
However, it seems that IE11 does not enable the vertical or horizontal scroll bars for the af:table component when the table contains greater than (approx) 650,000 rows. This is not the case when the Chrome browser is used. Nor was this the case on IE8 previously (using JDev 11.1.2.1.0).
When the table is filtered using the QBE (to a subset < 650,000 rows), the scroll bars are displayed correctly.
In the code the af:table component is surrounded by an af:panelCollection component which is itself surrounded by an af:panelStretchLayout component.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how this behaviour can be corrected? Is it purely a browser problem, or might there be a programmatic workaround in ADF?

Some further investigation into the generated HTML has yielded the following information...
The missing scroll bars appear to be as a consequence of the setting of a style for the horizontal and vertical scroll bars (referenced as vscroller and hscroller in the HTML). The height of the scrollbar appears to be computed by multiplying the estimated number of rows in the iterator on which the table is based by 16 to give a scrollbar size proportional to the amount of data in the table, although it is not obvious why that should be done for the horizontal scroller. If this number is greater than or equal to 10737424 pixels then the scroll bars do not display in IE11.
It would seem better to be setting this height to a sensible limiting number of pixels for a large number of rows?
Alternatively, is it possible to find where this calculation is taking place and override its behaviour?
