Scroll Bar? I dont know

Question

I really dont know what to call it and I can't think of any
exact examples to show. Anyway I want to make a scrolling image bar
or whatever its called. An example of what I want is here:
http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/#?page=screens
But instead of it continuing to move like the one in the
link. I want to to stop at each image. For example lets say that
"bird" and "dog" are images. I want the scroll bar to work like
this:
< bird >
when I click one of the arrows it changes
< dog >
But i want it to kinda slide between images not just change.
I hope this is enough information to get someone to help me.

The one in your link was done with Flash.
