Scroll Bar in forms 6i

I have the following requirement-
to create a form based on table columns of a customized table as per bissuness requirement and register it onto oracle apps 11i. the table has around 80 columns. so horizontal scroll bar is required to scroll thru all the columns. and it is also required to display 10 records when the form opens. so vertical scroll bar is required to scroll through the records.
i tried lots of combinations like - seting show scroll bar - yes, scroll bar orientation - vertical on the DataBlock property pellet. and show horizontal scroll bar on the canvas property pellet. the canvas i created from the Datablock is a stacked canvas only.
please suggest if i am missing anything, as scroll bar is never showing up. neither vertical nor horizontal. atleast m able to see the vertical scroll bar on the canvas layout editor. but its not coming on the Apps Forms window.
Please Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi Sam,
1. Create your main canvas Type will be CONTENT.
2. Draw a stack canvas over it
3. Set the Viewport width and height property of the stack canvas to visible area (Press F4 by selecting it or Right click Properties in Object Navigator).
4. Set the Canvas Width so u can put all your field in that canvas.
5. Set the Horizontal or Vertical scroll bar property of the Stack canvas.
Note: Canvas width and viewport width both are different things. Viewport is the visible area of the canvas
plz mark it helpful/correct

  • How to do implement an Auto scrolling bar in Forms 9i

    Hi,friends
How can we implement a automatic scrolling bar when we edit item data in block which is so wide.
I will be appreciated for your response,Thank you!!
    Pls give me some ideas

    Hi,
actually this functionality does not work. The reason for this is that Forms9i is Web only and there is no functionality downloaded with the generic Java Applet. For the moment I filed an enhancement request to have this on our radar. Meanwhile, if you need thi sfunctionality you can help yourself by writing a PJC that opens a dialog and performs the action that you want to.

  • [FYI] FRM-92101 and scroll bar and form crash

    Forms 6i
    Windows 2k for app server.
I have just spent three hours figuring out why I was getting a FRM-92101 when I deployed a form from my development app server to my test app server. Noted that the development server has patch 18 and uses cgi, not sure what patch the test server has but it uses servlet. Anyway the form worked perfectly on the dev server but would crash out with the error on entry in the form on the test server. Eventually I found the solution to be a scroll bar on a block, get rid of the scroll bar from the canvas and voila it worked. Ended up having to place the scroll bar on a stacked canvas to get it to work on the test server. I have already had to deal with a palette issue and those dark pink colours on deployment. Developed for a while on visual studio and never came across such annoying quirks as these.

I use XP to develop so I was compiling it there and then copying it across to both servers. Should I compile forms on the app server where they are going to be served or have I picked you up correctly?
    Kind regards

  • Web Form - takes extra time to render scroll-bar

    Hi,
    11.1.2.0.83
When we open a webform that is relatively small in scale it takes ~ 4-6 seconds to come back from the 'hourglass' but then leaves the user waiting for upto a minute before the scrollbar appears at the side of the rendered web form (which appears after the initial period) and you can actually take any action.
Smartview does not have this same delay on the same form, and when I monitor server / client activity on both sides it seems to be minimal impact on cpu / memory.
We are on IE7, though some clients are IE8.
Has anyone else seen this - is it a known issue - are there any fixes?
    thanks,
    Robert.

    Hi,
I think both Planning and Essbase are done sending the required data/metadata to client and from that point on it's up to the client to generate the form. Like you are suggesting, although you see the form with cells and numbers, it takes time to generate the scroll bars (i.e. complete the form generation). My hunch is that this could be related to a security setting or an antivirus setting that could be slowing down the java script. Essentially, it's a hefty java script that generates the form and in some cases (such as with McAfee) there are certain settings to enable scanning java scripts on web pages before running them. You can make sure by tracking the process in task manager on the client when opening the form. If this is the case, disabling this option might improve the performance.

  • Remove scroll bars in dynamic form

    Hi all,
I'm starting to kick myself every time I put a post here.  Apologies and thank you for everyone's help - slowly but shortly I'll be one of the people answering the questions.
Really easy one (I think).  A have a dynamic form, which updates a dynamic list.  Is there a way to alter a text area in the dynamic form, so that it is a fixed area  i.e. when you get to the end of the line/characater usage, the cursor goes down to the next line rather than creating a horizontal scroll bar and running forever into the distance.  I have played around with Wrap options without luck, the css doesn;t seem to play much of a part as this is an actual text area in Dreamweaver as opposed to a CSS clipping in the list.
    Thanks again,
    Nathan

Perfect! Thank you Albert.  Is it possible to add virtual wrap to a box in a dynamic list?  As that is not presented in a normal html form'ish style way.....?
    Hi Nathan,
as a Dynamic List displays pure text only, you´ll need to help yourself by formatting the displayed column using PHP. There are several ways to add "virtual" line breaks, and the most straightforward (though certainly not the most elegant) solution would be to apply the PHP function wordwrap which wraps a string to a given number of characters.
The following example will wrap the text after 40 chars, and the "wordwrap" function will - as always - have to replace ADDT´s default "KT_FormatForList" function:
    <?php echo wordwrap($row_rsqueryname1['columnname'], 40, "<br />\n"); ?>

  • Trying to fill in a reservation form-no scroll bar and can't see whole page

    Hi,
I've had this problem before with Thai Airways website and am having it again with a hotel reservation site. When the form opens, there is no scroll bar on the right side of the window. I can't scroll down to the rest of the form (tab key doesn't work either, nor do the arrow keys) so am unable to complete the form.
    advice?
    thanks,
    Laura

    thanks for this advice.
I wrote to the company at indo.net--there is no webmaster listed that I could see, and you can't send them normal email (it bounces back), only through their online form, which fortunately did not require scrolling.
I'm planning a trip to Indonesia to visit small hotels, and this website offers the best discounts I've found. I guess at some point I will give up and find a different way to book, but these are not places that would be listed on Travelocity or Expedia. Same with Thai, they don't list their best fares on the big travel sites.
    thanks,
    Laura

  • Forms 6i scroll bar

This is a form running in Forms 6i and Windows 2000.
I have a block on a Tabbed Canvas. I want to activate the scroll bar on it.On the Block property,
I set Show Scroll Bar as Yes
Scroll Bar Canvas - The Tab Canvas Name
Scroll Bar Tab Page - The Tab Page name
But in Runtime, the Scroll show , but they are not active. The Window Canvas is active though(because there were some items in the page which went beyond the screen). I resized the window to a smaller size and the Window Scroll bars disappeared - which is what it should do. But I wonder why the Block scroll bars never get activated...
Even when I set I set the block scroll bar property to No, the scroll bars on the block are visible thought not active...
Anybody have any clue why this is happening...
    Thanks.

    Hi,
There are two kinds of scrollbars. The one you are talking about belongs to the block. This is used to navigate between records in the block. The other scrollbar belongs to the "window" object. Unfortunately that scrollbar will become active only if you have a canvas of type "content". If you have just a tabbed canvas the scrollbar is not active. You can try the following solution suggested by Oracle on their Metalink site

    ===================
How do you place scrollbars on a tabbed canvas in forms?
    Solution Description
    ====================
First create a content canvas. Then create a tabbed canvas to
place on top of the content canvas. These two canvases should
    be the same size.
Place your block/items on the tabbed canvas. Then go to property
sheet for the window and set the primary canvas to the content
canvas and set your scrollbars on this canvas. Make sure the window
is smaller than the canvases and you will see the scrollbars.
    ===========================================
The only problem with this approach is that even when you have a big screen or high screen resolution, the window will come up in small size with the scrollbar. If you have allowed the end user to adjust the size of the screen then they can increase the window size and make the scrollbar to go away. For people with smaller screens or lower resolutions the scrollbar will come in handy. If you have any further questions let me know.

  • Online forms scroll bar

When deploying forms to the web, the form size is too large for the screen. I have enabled the scroll bars in the window properties. The problem is when a button is clicked and a new form is loaded. The scroll bars disappear. I have them enabled in all the forms but the only way to make them appear is to goto the window menu and hit cascade, then resize manually. Is there a way to make the scroll bars stay all the time for each form?
    Thank you.

In the toolbar for the Property Palette there is a button called "Inherit". Highlight on your property and press the button.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded

  • Adobe forms - No scroll bar for Display only fields

I am using adobe forms for SAP Enterprise Portal. i am using these in Worklfows. In the form there is a text field with no size limit and Allows Multiple Lines. Any amount of text is allowed to be entered. when the form is viewed by the next person, the script in the form make the field as read only. This is as expected.
Problem: If there are multiple lines the scroll bar does not appear for the field. Entire content is not visible. Printout of the form prints the entire text from the field. In edit mode the scroll bar is displayed!!

  • How do I add a form which has a scroll bar?

    Hi there:
I got trouble when I try to insert an Excel form into PDF. The excel form is quite long,I would like to make a scroll bar for it so that I don't have to roll all way down to the bottom of the page. How can I achieve this function in LiveCycle Designer or Acrobat?
    Thanks a lot!!

From Tools>Advanced edit, select either the Combo box or the List box. One provides a drop down list that can be scanned and the other provides a scroll list. I suspect that Designer is similar, but I use Acroforms. For Designer, you would need to check that forum unless you have folks here that use it.
