Scroll bar keeps sliding while using internet
While using the internet, on certain web-pages, the scroll bar keeps sliding down or up and page will turn dark in color. I have linux operating system. What is causing this and how can I fix the problem.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

The scroll bar keeps disappearing as I am trying to scroll on the macbook pro osx 10.9 update installed.
Scroll bars have been doing this since Lion. You can set them to stay on in System Preferences.

I wake up, unhibernate my laptop and suddenly I can't scroll by hitting the space bar, or clicking on the scroll bar itself, or even use the scroll arrows. In other programs it works fine. What happened and how do I fix this?

Scroll bar keeps moving out of sight
I open fire fox and then when I open one of my accounts the scroll bars moves out of sight on the screen and I can't scroll down The Even when I use the zoom bar. The fire fox screen is large than my monitor and I have a large monitor. When I try to go into Face Book there is no way to scroll down the page to see when is farther down the page.
It is possible that the screen is too wide or too high and that the scroll bars fall off.
* Use Restore or Maximize in the right-click context menu of the Taskbar icon to set focus to the Firefox application if you do not see the Firefox window.
* Open the system menu of that Firefox window via Alt+Space and see if you can move and resize that window.
If that works then close Firefox (File > Exit/Quit) to save that setting.

Firefox keeps crashing while using the scroll button on my mouse but only on facebook Why?
using facebook on firefox is a nightmare. When i scroll through my news feed it just crashes out of the blue i can take a video if necessary and upload it. I have already made a new profile before and it hasnt worked and in safe mode it still crashes. Its getting annoying it has been going on for months and still no fix in sight. I use all the betas to see if maybe it changes but it doesn't. I even use the stable versions and nothing. I have cleaned all temp files I do not have flash hardware acceleration on and do not have hardware acceleration on in firefox at all it makes my text weird and my graphic card drivers are updated. I do not know what to do anymore this is the only site it crashes on and I refuse to use internet explorer or chrome so please please please fix this. I only use Fast dial and a plugin for youtube but like I said in safe mode it still crashes so Its not the addons.

I was dragging folders from main folders on the laptop-desktop onto the external drive icon - to copy them across....
Your suggestion sounds very promising - I didn't know about 'cloning'.
Yes the idea is to backup the laptop - I thought I would just move it all now, new - and then keep saving/dragging physically across to the new drive myself each day or two...
Would this be the sizeof the internal hard drive = c.500 gb ? = under the HD icon on desktop is written :
" 499.76gb , 311.5 gb free "
I can erase and start agin on the new external drive - so this plan is to make two partititions, rather than the one at present, and make one of them 500 gb ?
I have found CCC [carbon copy cloner] googling - looks good.
When CCC site says it backs up the hard drive - would this mean all my files [over 100 gb] that are mostly in folders on the desktop, plus the others in itunes, iphotos etc found in the HD icon, would all copy across successfully [wherever they are in the computer ] ?

Change the amout a scroll bar moves when user uses the mouse wheel?

i have a JScrollPane, and when a user uses the "wheel" on the mouse, it seems to move up/down 1 line at a time...i would like it to scroll faster basically...so that when the "wheel", the scroll bars move up/down like 5 lines at a time....is there some way to set this value, or how can i do it?
thanksIt looks like it behaves just like if the user had clicked the up or down arrow on the scrollbar, so
I would suggest setting the unit increment on the vertical scroll bar to be 5X its current value. Of
course, this would also increase the amount that gets scrolled when the user clicks on the up
or down arrow. If you don't want that, you'd need to somehow only change the increment on a
mouse wheel event, do the scroll, then change it back. My guess is that you'll need to provide
your own look and feel class to do that.

MBP keeps crashing when using Internet Tethering with iPhone4
I have had 2 crashes today of my new 13" MBP (I7 CPU, 8 Gb RAM, SSD) while using Ethernet Tethering with iPhone4. This is really embarrassing. I have used PC all my life and this is my first Mac. It's been many years since I have seen Blue screen of death on my PC. I have always heard about super reliability of Mac and could not believed my eyes when I saw the black message. Software industry moved long way improving reliability but looks like Mac team is moving in other direction. Unacceptable!
Same with my MacBook Pro!
I was really upset with this issue.
I got it in early March 2011, just only one month and a few days.
I always connected via USB tethering, it did work.
The problem just started yesterday, it almost 10 times after connect internet.
I called to the technical support and they told me to update to 10.6.7 (Mine was 10.6.6)
Then I updated and it went well (which I found out later that cuz I use the WiFi to connected) for the rest of the day.
But after I came back home and connected via USB , it crashed again.
Then I decided to go to the store at 5th ave. , they checked for a 10 minutes and told me to backup all my data and take it back to them.
Let see what is going to happen next. -
I find that after using Safari for several minutes, the scroll bar on the side (which allows me to move the screen shot up or down to see more of a web page) will disappear. I have to close and reopen Safari in order to get the scroll bar back. What can be causing this? (It happens regardless of the web site I am looking at)
Quit Safari. Delete the com.apple.safari plist from Home/library/preferences. This will reset your preferences back to their default settings.

I want variable list (not combo box) where I can add multiple JMenuItems through JPopupMenu. I have created JList in JScrollPane and I have added multiple JMenuItems one by one but in output I am getting the list of JMenuItems without scrollbar. There is no way I can navigate to last JMenuItem in the JList. Could someone help me with integration of JList, JMenuItems, JPopupMenu with scroll bars?

}I was going to say try setting the preferred (or maximum) size of the scrollpane to force it to be no larger than you want.
But ...
a) I don't see you putting menu items in a JList in that code. You are putting them directly into the popup menu (aka, the normal way to do things).
b) Calling setAutoscrolls() on the JPopupMenu does not make it a "scrollable" menu. It is for supporting dragging of components in a scrollpane (usually). Read the API docs. -
My scroll bar keeps freezing when a open a second PDF in a session.
When I open the first PDF, it works just fine, but when I open a second PDF, either in a second tab or just later on in the same session, the scroll bar remains locked at the top.
try doing a SMC RESET if you've tried repair permissions...

Scroll Bar does not show using Mac OS X 10.10.1, Thunderbird 31.3.0
I upgraded to Thunderbird 31.3.0, running Mac OS X 10.10.1. The scroll bars in both the inbox window and the message text window seem to have disappeared. There does not seem to be any support available on this.

Turns out, this is the case.
If I drag two fingers over the Track Pad, the Scroll Bar does appear. If I don't let go of the Track Pad, and roll over to the Track Bar it stays up. I hate it, but now I have a work-around.

Cursor keeps disappearing while using Safari
While using Safari the cursor/arrow will randomly disappear. I have to move the cursor/arrow beyond the Safari page and click on the desktop somewhere to make it reappear. This was happening on my MBP 15" for the last few months, now it is happening on my Mac Pro. Any suggestions on how to fix this?? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, We have a requirement of preventing the user entering duplicate fields. For example The user enters vendor number XXXX in the first record and when he comes to second record or any subsequent record he should be prevented from entering XXXX. Than
