Scroll keys in Mail

Does anyone know how to use the down scroll key when reading a particular message in Mail in order to read the message? Sometimes it does and most of the time it jumps to the following email message.
Thanks

pressing the space bar would do the trick.
Other option is to set the cursors in the message and use two fingers on your trackpad.

  • Disable scrolling animations in Mail

    Hi everybody,
I really like the new Mail-App in Lion.
But is there a possibility to disablle the scrolling-animation (wenn you press FN+Down/Up-Arrow-Key) in Mail that it behaves like Snow Leopard Mail.
If you want to flip through multi-pages-mails very fast, the animation is too slow...
    Thank you, Gernot

Just found out, that shift-fn-arrow-down does the trick. Is there a way to switch behaviour of shift-fn-arrow-down and fn-arrow-down? Because shift-fn-del does not delete a mail-message and it was very convenient that holding the fn-key arrow-down and del did a fast skim-through-message and delete without releasing the fn-key.
    Yours, Gernot

  • How do you disable the shortcut key in Mail that deletes all mail in the trash folder

Is there a way to disable the shortcut key in Mail in Mountain Lion that deletes all mail in the Trash folder in all accounts: <shift><command><delete> ?
I did it once by mistake and it deleted all my trash - it is very difficult to restore when there are thousands of messages in various emaiil accounts.
    Thanks

While you can't (so far as I know) remove it - you can assign a different (& less likely to be used accidentally) one via System Preferences - Keyboard - Shortcuts.
Go there, create a new one (or 2) for Mail only, and give it the exact name(s) if the menu item(s) in question, capitalisation & ... included.
Below is on 10.6, but the idea's the same

  • Nokia E5 "Breathing" Scroll Key Light

I seem to be having a software problem with my E5. When you do not use the device for a certain period of time, the scroll key starts blinking slowly as if it was breathing. To turn the breathing light on or off, select Standby br.light > Breathing light. Thing is, when I get to "Notification Lights", I have only one option: "Notification Light". The "Standby light" isn't there. Any ideas?

Hmm....yes....I also have that problem. The breathing light option just isn't there =[

  • Pavilion dv4-1275mx notebook - once-flashing leds @ caps lock and scroll keys @ start-up

My HP Pavilion dv4-1275mx notebook runs Windows Vista Home Premium service pack 1 for 64x-based systems.
Recently, when I turn it on, the led lights @ the caps lock and scroll keys repeatedly flash once.
I'm not sure what, if anything, happened prior to this starting.  It's possible that there was a power surge when it was shut off, or it may be related to doing a McAfee virus scan or installing the latest version of a software, e.g., Adobe Reader.
I was able to use my System Recovery disks to reinstall the Vista software, thinking this might "kickstart" my computer into working, e.g., as part of the restart process.  After the reinstallation, I was able to use my computer, although the led lights continued to flash.  However, once I shut down my computer, I have been unable to restart it.  The leds continue to flash upon start-up, and I have not been successful in again reinstalling the Vista software.  (I thought if could get my computer to work again that way, it might stay accessible if I used hiberate mode instead of shutting it down.)
The computer's about 4-1/2 years old.  The screen has a short of some kind (only turning on when the screen is low to the keyboard, so I use an external monitor.

  • 6600 fold "NAVI" scroll key

I purchased a 6600 fold and after only 3 weeks of very light use the "navi" scroll key cracked and disintegrated,
Nokia care point wanted to charge to replace this key which on a 3 week old phone under warranty it outrageous.
Finally the shop where I bought it had it repaired only for the same fault to happen 4 weeks after repair, This tells me that there is an underlying problem with this flimsy plastic button, has anybody else had this problem?

its been reported before and nokia put it down to physical damage, ive seen cases reported with hairline cracks and they are not covered under warranty either however if nokia seen this was an ongoing problem and the piece is not a good build quality they should replace it free and look into using a better material for this to fix this problem.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

How do I scroll down in aol compose mail? I just keep enlarging screen when I try

    Hi Happybude1,
If you can't see the scroll bars you can enable them in the General System Preferences.
OS X Mountain Lion: Change how scroll bars work
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10895
Use General Preferences to customize scroll bars in windows.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click General.
Set the scrolling options. For more information about the scrolling options, click the Help button.
Some apps let you scroll through a document in other ways, such as by dragging in the document, using arrow keys, or pressing the Space bar.
I like to have mine set for Show scroll bars:  Always.
Thank you for thinking of Apple Support Communities for your support needs.

  • How to scroll in Mac Mail 6.5?

I recently upgraded to Lion and Mail 6.5. I've found it frustrating that scrolling is different and not very functional...or perhaps I just haven't figured it out?
When viewing a mailbox, I simply have a scrolling bar to the right and no up/down scrolling arrows that would allow me to click up or down one email at a time. And if I use the scrolling bar to the righ of the column, the slightest movement makes it jump more than a page at a time.
Previously, when cleaning out mailboxes I could hightlight an email, hold the shift key, then scroll or click down the mailbox, hightligthing emails, then clicking on one at the bottom, highlighting just a few or hundreds of emails,  and delete the entire highlighted list. The current scrolling doesn't allow that? It jumps too many emails so I cannot review them?
    Am I missing something?

If you wish to go one-at-a-time, you can use the arrow keys on the keyboard.
Do you have scrolling enabled on your trackpad?
You should be able to scroll through them as fast or slow as you want.
But, using the scroll thumb on the bar would be the same. Clicking above or below the thumb in the scrollbar will scroll an entire page.

  • Cannot Scroll in Mac Mail with either Mouse or Trackpad

    Hi!
Perhaps this is not the right category to post my question, but I couldn't figure out where it would go. Apologies in advance.
I've seem to come across a software issue with Mac Mail. As the title says, I can't scroll with a mouse or the trackpad in the Mac Mail application. I've tried different computer mice, and I tried switching between different monitors as suggested by another post. I haven't downloaded any new software updates, at least not to my knowledge.
I'm using a Mac Book Pro with Mavericks OS version 10.9.4
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
