Scroll left on mulittasking bar? HELP!!!

when I double tap on the home bottom it brings up the multitasking bar and when I scroll left it shows ipod controls..now when I scroll left twice there is a volume bar and some symbol? cant figure out what it is for..any help?? thanks

The one that you select and it says portrait orientation lock/unlock? That either locks or unlocks being able for the screen to turn sideways while using safari ect.....

ITunes Horizontal Bar Help While Trying To Register iPhone 3G

So i purchased the iPhone 3G, and updated my itunes to iTunes 7.7, and i plugged in my iPhone, and it wants me to register, so i click on through, but then it gets to an area that is the iPhone Software License Agreement.. i scroll to the bottom and it only gives me three things to click. a box (The Box that states "I have read and agree..."), another box that says Cancel, and another that says Save. Obviously, A BUTTON IS MISSING, and it is on the far right, but iTunes somehow, does not stretch that far!!! it doesn't make sense, but it doesn't have a horizontal Scroll Bar (THE BAR THAT MOVES THE SCREEN LEFT TO RIGHT). please help. i've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 7.7 twice already. and there's still no horizontal scroll bar!

Again, you need to set your screen to at least 1024x768 and you will be able to see the correct button at the lower right of the iTunes screen.
Actually, you need at least 1024x600 but 1024x768 will display everything proportionally correct.

Unstable screen distortion after startup - scrolls left to right rapidly

My Mac Mini (2.0/2GB/GMA 950) will not provide a stable screen after startup process completes - the screen rapidly scrolls left to right (possibly right to left, cant be sure) and the mouse pointer appears broken up until I move the mouse to the lower right corner of the display.
I can get a menu bar menu to drop down, then move the mouse to the corner to stabalize, then use the keyboard to active available commands - but any movement of the mouse cause the screen to resume the instability.
this only occurs after the initial staup process completes - the startup icons display normal until the loging window or desktop is displayed - then the display goes unstable, scrolling horizontially rapidly.
This occures in any display resolution I can access, with alternate mouse & keyboards, and even without mouse or keyboard. Also occurs after changing back to original 2x512 memory modules.
This also occurs with a clean statup from the original installation DVD as well as a 10.5 & 10.6 installation DVDs which suggests a Hardware failure.
However when I boot into Windows XP using the BootCamp partition the system behaves completely normal - no display problems what so ever.
Any suggestions on how to narrow this down to a software driver or hardware? Any notices from Aplle that relates to this to a hardware problem?

Hi. After a 'hard shutdown' - such as pulling the plug - the boot directory may be damaged. It may help to boot from the most recent system disc DVD that you have - could be the 10.4 retail disc - and use Disk Utility to Repair Disc

If Disk Utility finds errors it cannot repair, you could try DiskWarrior

Oh - and if you are on 10.4.3 or higher - if Disk Utility on the system DVD repairs the boot drive ok, you may then wish to run the Disk Utility > Disk Verify (the one on the 10.4.3+ boot drive) - just to check. More Good Luck.

Safari stucks when I do scroll left

When I do scroll left my safari stops to respond to touch pad gestures. I can switch pages and open new one, but can't scroll.
When I close the page I can use scroll up and down on other pages.
This is happens from time to time.
This had never happend with OS X 10.8.
How to fix this?

Quit Safari.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, check the settings (gestures) in System Preferences > Trackpad

Shift+scroll no longer scrolls left and right!!

I have a logitech mouse w/ a scroll wheel
I have always been able to hold down shift to get the scroll wheel to scroll left and right instead of up and down
and it's suddenly stopped working and I have no idea why

I THINK this is related to installation of a new logitech bluetooth mouse driver
that stinks. a logitech driver should only control the logitech mouse. it shouldn't affect how other mice work with the OS

I, am now getting annoyed with i-cloud. I had an express lane discussion with your support group earlier this morning after discovering that the cloud icon wasn't next to music in the left hand side bar.

I, have spent considerable time trying to connect my i-pod touch wirelessly with no success untill I saw on the i-tunes store tab that my i-tunes match was not turned on. I clicked to turn it on and I was asked to add this computer which I have already done. I talked to the Apple support group and they talked me through the set up through add this computer again! But sure enough it worked I had the cloud icon next to music in the left hand side bar and in the store tab i-tune match was turned on and everything seemed to be working.
I, looked again less than half an hour later and i-tunes match was turned off again. I began to turn it on again and now I get asked to pay the i-cloud subscription. How is this resolved?

ITunes 9 - No scrolling Left & Right

The new iTunes store for version 9 does not have any scroll bars! I can scroll up and down only because of the scroll wheel on my mouse. However, I cannot scroll left and right in the iTunes store window.

Your screen resolution needs to be at least 1024x768.

My imac keeps scrolling left

My imac keeps scrolling left no matter what app i run (garage band, safari, photobooth) mouse isn't broken and i dont have sticky keys. I tried with three different mice and it still scrolled left even when i unpkugged my keyboard. This has been going on for days already and i havent found a solution.

Try doing a SMC reset 2-3 times and if that does not work try a PRAM reset. Instructions are in:

How to hide left frame on iSupport help pages?

I'm trying to hide the left frame on iSupport help pages.
I've seen that this is directly in relation with a profile option named: HELP_TREE_ROOT (Root Help System) But the funcionallity is veru peculiar:
If we have set the profile option with FND:LIBRARY value, "Help" link appears in the top right of iSupport pages and when we click on it.. it appears the help page but adding the frames to the left of the screen.
If we set in that moment the profile option to blank (null, without value)... frames disapear.... but if we restart Apache or if we navigate to other iSupport pages with Root Help System profile option without a value.. , the "Help" link.. doesn't appear on the iSupport pages....!
So.. how could we do to mantain the link but without value in the profile option...or.. Mantain the value.. but wihout showing the frames...?
I'm trying to modify the fndhelp.jsp to try to avoid showing the frames.. but I don't exactly what to change (if that would be a valid solution)

There's a piece of code in that .jsp where is showed as a document the help page. It's commented too where the frames are not used.

HT1338 My new magic mouse will not one finger scroll left and right

I am up to date with software but after connecting my new magic mouse it will not one finger scroll left and right. It does scroll up and down. Any ideas on what may be wrong??

I don't have a Magic Mouse, but there is probably a setting that enables and disables horizontal scrolling. Look on System Preferences Mouse pane.

Scale and Crop - left with black bars

In Final Cut Express, I know the concept of "scale and crop" but when I am scaling and cropping, I am still left with black bars on each side of the video. It seems that I am able to crop/scale the white background and the video but not the canvas. Here is a screenshot of what I am working with...

Even after I export the video, I am still left with "unused space."
I want the white background to fill the total space yet when I resize the video/white background, I am left with black excess.

You have a black background BECAUSE you cropped the clip. When you scale down or crop a clip and nothing is underneath it, all you'll see is black.
If you want a white background, place a color matte on a video track below the clip and set its color to white.
