since updating to firefox 09 my scroll feature on my touch pad doesn't work. How do I fix this, please? I have a Gateway laptop. This has never happened before with other updates.
    Thanks so much!!

Thank you so much for your link - unfortunately it is totally beyond my skills to understand or correct the bug as posted. I can find the touchpad icon and right click to open the options and that's about my speed. If this is a bug should I uninstall Firefox 9? Thanks so much...

Besweet, I'm having the very same problem with 60GB colour which was bought new and worked for 6 months before suddenly just not being recognised by PC. I hadn't changed anything at all.
I've followed all troubleshooting advice and reinstalled and updated iTunes and iPod updater software but all troubleshooting routes seem to hit the dead end of either the need to access the iPod via the PC (which isn't possible as it's not showing up at all) or the iPod in disc mode stuck at "ok to disconnect".
It's still under 1yr warranty so will have to take to a dealer.
I'm sorry that's not much help for you but at least you know it's not a unique problem.

  • Scroll ball doesn't work

scroll ball doesn't work. there is nothing like NOKIA as we can easily view messages through NOKIA PC Suite

what u can try to do is to press the ball a little harder while scrolling this can take the dust out of the device.
or if u are really handy you can take out the ball to clean it yourself
else it is an internal problem that can only be solved by sending it to a repair center

Scrolling page doesn't work in “Fit one full page to window” view
it is still not working in V11.0.10 is there a new fix?

Not sure exactly what you mean. It may be that you have continuous view activated, rather than the page view.

  • The mouse scroll wheel doesn't work with Xorg

I recently installed Solaris 10 on my x86 box. One issue is that the mouse scroll wheel doesn't work with Xorg. Hmmm... Okay, it sometimes did work, and most of the time went on strike, and recovered at random. This pattern continued.
My mouse is an ordinary PS/2 one with two buttons and a scroll wheel. I want to promise that there's absolutely nothing wrong with it per se. Here is some info:

    You remember correctly, Yvan.

  • My MacBook's keyboard and track pad doesn't work property.

My MacBook's keyboard and track pad doesn't work property after update to snow leopard. It's work fine while still using is 10.4. Please help me!

  • After installing FF4 scrolling up and down with the touch-pad doesn't work on my Acer Aspire anymore.

Neither does it work to browse forwards or backwards with the double gesture. Zooming in and out works fine though.
Everything still works in IE8 and in Google Chrome.
    The touch-pad uses an ALPS-driver.

Thanks, I don't have the file tp4table.dat on my computer. Currently I've reversed to 3.6 and will run it as long as it works. Really don't like 4.0 anyway... May be forced to use IE again if I don´t find anything better. Tried Chrome and worked well at first but now back and forth doesn't work there either and that's so annoying.

  • Two Finger Scrolling using track pad doesn't work.

You know how you can drag 2 fingers down the track pad to sroll down a page. Well, it doesn't work for me using Vista through Boot Camp. I tried the update, but it wouldn't install.
Is this as good as it gets?
    Hypnoguy

    Hypnoguy,
Sorry I haven't used boot camp for a long time my memory is a little fuzzy. Also note I used it with XP and not Vista, but don't use it at the moment anymore.
Here is a list of Supported Macs for 64-bit windows: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1846
As per your trackpad problems after the drives have been installed I would try to install the update again: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3336
Here are the boot camp updates and also may help with errors:
    64 bit: http://support.apple.com/downloads/BootCamp_Update_2_1_for_Windows_Vista64
    32 bit: http://support.apple.com/downloads/BootCamp_Update_2_1_for_Windows_Vista32
Also I would look in the boot camp system tray tool to see if there are settings related to your function keys.
Sorry I don't know of a function key that changes the startup volume, I only know of the select from the boot camp system tray (Windows)/Startup disk preference pane (Mac) or the hold option during startup. More on that here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/11892.html
A good place to find a lot of Bootcamp support would be here: http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
    Hope that helps,
    Weston

  • Apple Keyboard with number pad doesn't work with Mac Pro?

I have a Mac Pro, and have used an Apple Keyboard with a number pad (not bluetooth) with it for quite a while, with no problems. But then my keyboard broke and I ordered a replacement Apple Keyboard with a number pad (not bluetooth). This keyboard doesn't work with my Mac Pro. I have it plugged in, but I can't get the Mac Pro to consistently recognize that there is a USB keyboard connected to it. What magical stuff do I have to do to get the keyboard to be fit for purpose?

It would not hurt to try an SMC Reset. (But if it does not help, it adds credence to lllaass assertion that the keyboard is not working.)

  • All of a sudden my track pad doesn't work properly and mouse pointer is jumping all over my screen

Help, it feels like someone else is controlling my mouse.  This just started happening.  My trackpad doesn't work or works sporadically.  While typing the pointer is scrolling all over my screen.  This is really annoying.

Great tip! Your suggestion to check for a swollen battery in my laptop is working for me. You should get credit for solving the problem.
On my MacBook Pro (2008), my cursor was out-of-control for the past couple of days, like it was having a sissy-fit. In TextEdit, for example, I would enter text, but the text would no longer be entered smoothly, in sync with my typing. Nor would the text appear where I wanted it go. Sometimes, the text I was typing, say in the last line of the document, would jump and insert itself somewhere above in the document. Sometimes, entire lines of text, or entire paragraphs, would get highlighted and then immediately deleted upon my hitting the next keystroke. Not an acceptable way to work!
I tested this odd behavior in Leopard and in Snow Leopard and in Lion, which are all partitioned on my laptop's hard drive. Since I could not isolate the problem to any one version of the Mac OS, I began to fear that my motherboard had gotten compromised and went defective on me.
Your tip proved that it was merely a swollen battery that was the cause of my problems. I was able to confirm this by removing the original battery (now 4 years old) and placing it on a hard surface. It rocked like a see-saw, ever so slightly, about 1/8-inch to 1/4-inch at the far sides of the rocking motion. When I looked at that original, swollen battery from the side, I got further indication that your insight was likely correct, for I could spy the area where the swelling was occurring: it was at an edge in the middle of the battery, and it was separating from the base by about 1/16-inch, just enough to make me wonder why the "springiness" had suddenly disappeared from the central portion of my trackpad.
That change in the touch and the lack of aural feedback (i.e. no "click" sound or feeling) when I depressed the trackpad in the central section, was my first clue that something was wrong. The crazy cursor behavior on-screen was further indication that something was amiss.
I type this reply under A/C power, as the replacement battery, which I had purchased from Other World Computing back in September 2011 for just such an eventuality, is now charging. At first, I was worried that the replacement battery was a dud, for it was stuck on 0% for nearly 10-15 minutes before it began to take a charge. But, 30 minutes of paience has paid off: the replacement battery is now at 15% and getting more powerful by the minute.

  • Mouse scroll-down doesn't work....

LIttle trackball for scrolling on my mouse doesn't work when attempting to scroll down. I've looked at the pref settings for it, and it all seems fine. It will move in all other directions, just not down.
    Advice please?

Glad it worked. Folks seem to have varying probs w the scroll wheel. I have been lucky. 1st one lasted 4 months and would not clean. Free replacement. This one is now going on a year w a couple of minor cleans.

  • Bluetooth keyboard and magic pad doesn't work after sleep

This only recently developed, once my 2013 iMac goes into sleep mode, when I tap the keyboard to wake it up to put in my security password, the bluetooth keyboard doesn't work.  Also, the track pad shows no point, i.e. I have a sign in screen, but can't sign it.

I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.

  • I use iMac OS 10.6.8 (uptodate Snow Leopard) with Firefox for Mac 23.0.1. Online and at other times, my number pad doesn't work. Is there a 'Num Loc/unloc' on the keyboard?

On line or otherwise, my number keypad doesn't work, then I get a 'freeze.' Number keypad works durning sign in.
I use Mac keyboard (original equipment).

Hi, sometimes Shift+clear works as numlock.
Also open System Preferences>Universal Access>Keyboard tab, & see if Sticly keys is on.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...
