Hello,
I am curious, is there a way to scroll up and down the toolbar using a shortcut. In Quark it was CMD-OPT-Tab (or shift tab to go up). is there something equivalent in InDesign?

Hi, Babs:
You can open the Quick Apply dialog box with Cmd/Ctrl+Return and type abbreviated fragments of tool names to select some tools. For example:
Type this
abbreviation
For this command
eye
eyedropper tool
swap
swap DnArrow
swap fill and stroke activation
swap fill and stroke colors
gap
gap tool (new in CS5)
th to
type on a path tool
moo
smooth tool
You may need to use DnArrow to select the exact item you want. Press Return to execute the selected item. It takes a while to get used to Quick Apply, but you'll probably like it better than you expect to<G>.
You can experiment to find the shortest memorable (for yourself) abbreviation for most of the toolbox tools and their options. Actually, Quick Apply can bring up almost any of the zillions of InDesign's commands, those on the menus, and many hidden ones, plus, variables, styles, scripts, and more. Search for Quick Apply in InDesign help, and search for "InDesign Quick Apply" (without quotes) in Google.

Create Run And Stop Buttons on Front Panel, rather than using the toolbar run/stop

I would like to make my vi more user friendly by creating start and stop buttons on the front panel. I havent found much info on how to create them. I have created a boolean stop button to stop my FOR LOOP.

Creating the buttons is easy - just select the style you want from the Boolean palette. What you need to do is change your diagram and the VI properties. To have a VI automatically start running when opened, open VI Properties by selecting that under the File menu or right clicking the VI's icon. Select Execution and check the Run when opened box. If you need the user to enter some data or change parameters before running the program, there's a couple of ways to go about it with a front panel Start button. You could have a separate while loop with just the start button in it and connect an output of that to a main while loop. This creates data flow and ensures that the start while loop executes before the main. You could create a simple state machine. T
here's a couple of shipping examples. Just open the Example Finder and enter state for the keyword. You could also use the Event structure. Again, there are several shipping examples. Instead of doing a search, you could also browse the Example Finder and look at what's underneath the Building User Interfaces topic.
p.s. I don't think you created a stop button for a for loop as there is no way to stop a for loop. What you can stop is a while loop.

Firefox logo appears in a white box rather than using the background like 3.6

I just installed Firefox 4.0.on my xp sp3 laptop. My desktop, quick launch and startmenu Firefox icons are all on a white background. On the change page it says that the Firefox logo was updated, but I could not find a description of the update. How can I change the Firefox logo to a transparent background?

You can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page.

Is there a way to make the clock show when the phone is plugged into the charger, rather than have the screen go blank?

I just finally got my first smart phone (I know), an iPhone 4S. I was wondering if there was a way to make it so when the phone is plugged in, the screen stays on but is dimly lit or something, just so I can see the clock without having to press the button? However, I'd want this to be automatic, as I want the screen to go blank when the phone isn't plugged in. I don't want to have to change the setting each time I plug in the phone. I kind of obsessively look at my phones' clocks when I am doing other things and can't be bothered to reach over and press the button.
I couldn't find an option in Settings, so I came here. If there's no way to do it naturally in iOS 5, is there an app someone can recommend?

In imovie how do I seperate all my videos from the photos from iphoto? I have thousands of photos so finding the odd video here or there is like finding a needle in a haystack! Is there a way I can simply import the videos rather than all the photos

Imovies - how do I seperate the videos from the photos. My library has bundled them all together from iphoto

One way I was able to do this, was to make a Smart Album in iPhoto, with the rule of showing just the movie files. This will work, once you know what format the movie files are in.
In iPhoto, select one of your movies, and right click it. Look for the option: "Reveal in Finder" or "Show in Finder" (this depends on the version of iPhoto).
Once you see the file, look for the three letters AFTER the period. Like this:
.mov (QuickTime movie)
.avi (Uncompressed Windows Video)
.mpg (MPEG video)
Back in iPhoto, when you make your Smart Album, set it up like this:
Once you have it set like this, press RETURN (or click "Ok").
What you'll see is all the videos that have that file extension (.mov, .avi, .mpg, etc.) listed. Now the nice thing is this: Every new movie you add to iPhoto will automatically get listed here, regardless of where in iPhoto they live!
Integration with iMovie:
By making this album in iPhoto, when you get to iMovie, you'll be able to see the movies when you select your Videos Smart Album.
I hope this helps you out. They have iPhoto and iMovie workshops at Apple Stores that cover this too. They're free, and you can learn a lot.

Is it just me, or do most of the upgrade problems (not bugs) happen when updating "over-the-air", rather than using a computer and iTunes ?

I have used iTunes on a computer every time, and so far have had no problems like the ones we are seeing here.

Absolutely!! I've had no problems upgrading the iPhone using iTunes. It also allows me to backup the iPhone's settings so I can recover them if something goes wrong in the upgrade process. I have always upgraded using iTunes and would not do it any other way.
My wife upgraded to iOS6 directly to her iPhone 4S and lost her contacts and other information, and had problems with wifi access, etc. At the next iOS change, I did the upgrade on her phone through iTunes and had no problem.
Even MacWorld reports that upgrading "over the air" directly on the iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch can create instability in the OS.

Does iCould Control Panel V2 still create new Outlook data files rather than using the default data files already in use?

This has always made iCloud for the PC an impossibility for me, and seems to be just a plain stupid implementation. My email notification is defaulting on an old hotmail account rather than using the form submitters email address. Does anyone know the fix?

Hi,
Email notification defaults to your account ID. If you want to change this default email, you will need to change the email (Adobe ID) of your account in "My Information" dialog under the account icon. A workaround is that you sign up a new account with your new email address and make your new account ID a co-author of the form, then choose your new email to receive email notifications. Pressing '#' enables gird rather than writing the character

When I press the '#' character, < AltGr >+< 3 > on a swiss-german keyboard layout, LV asks if it should enable the grid rather than writing the character. When I switch the layout to US-english, then it works correctly.
I use LV7.1 english on a german Win2k.
Might this be a bug?

This is an annoying bug of LV7-7.1!( Didn't exist on previous versions)
I use an italian keyboard and I get the same problem.
Let's hope it will be correct in the future!
