Scroll Up Problem - need to use Italics & Regular Typeface!!!!!!@@@!#

I am making a "scrolling" text for the end of a movie in Motion.
I used the "Scroll Up" Behavoir & typed directly onto the Screen using a Text called Trade Gothic. I used a combination of Bold typeface with some parts in Bold/Italic. It works fine until the project file gets to be over 1 MB - then if I save & try to reopen - the project file will NOT open again. Also, its gets slower and slower - the more Italics I add. It isn't that much text, so I cannot understand why it will not work - since it is made to do so. What am I doing wrong. I am working on Motion 2 on a G5 Quad. The end product will be in FCP. I cannot use FCP Scroll Text option because it does not have the ability to use both Bold & Italics in different parts of the scroll - which is what needs to happen.
It seems like Motion 2 should be able to handle this - its very basic.

Scrolling lists really aren't an appropriate application of the scrolling behavior, I know that sounds lame but you are seeing a few of the reasons.
First, be sure you have all style effects for the text switched off. No outlines or shadows, that kind of stuff. Turn 'em all off.
Second, try to create your list of names/titles in a simple tall layer. Then animate the layer to move up the screen.
Or, use LT or Motion to create the layer or layers of text, save then out as still images and import them into FCP where you will make the layer move. If you do that, be sure to include to include your style effects on the still.
There are lots of ways to do superb text in Motion and LiveType. It is a topic that comes up often around here.
