Scroll with trackpoint only works downwards

Everything is in the title: when I hold the middle button of the trackpoint and try to scroll down, it works, but if I want to scroll upwards, nothing happens. What am I missing?

I have a T42 ThinkPad and the vertical scrolling with TrackPoint's middle button won't work on MS Word and therefore not in my email either. Big pain in butt as I'm so used to using it. Are there any patches that fix that? Any ideas on why it won't work?

It's really weird. My suggestion would be that you install the most up-to-date driver by direct downloading or via System Update (if you haven't updated the driver).

Mouse scroll ball only works downwards

The scroll ball on my mouse (which came with the computer) only works when scrolling downwards. It was OK yesterday. Any suggestions?

Cleaning the ball is temporary at best. Most of the time the problem is not only a dirty ball but dust and dirt on the sensor below the ball. This is what works for me every time:
Place a piece of clean white printer paper on your desk. Disconnect the mouse and turn upside down on the paper. Push down on the mouse so the ball compresses on the paper. Now virtuously move the mouse ball on the paper (fast, up and down, in circles for about a minute). You should see little bits on crud on the paper when finished.

Page scrolling with keyboard not working

Scrolling not working using keyboard. Page Up / Page Down, Arrow Keys - Up, Down, Left & Right - keys do not work.
Scrolling is possible only by using the scroll bar.

hey rmurthy, please press f7 in order to switch off caret browsing mode, then the arrow keys should work as known before.

Subscription with recursivity only works in one level

Hi,
in the KM Content, in the suscription, if I choose the value "All Items in this Folder and in SubFolders to Complete Depth" in the scope, it only works in the first level or in the first folder. I mean, If I've the following scheme:
root\first folder\second folder\third folder and the subscription is on the root folder, where somebody hungs a file in the root folder I receive a notice but If somebody hungs a file in the 'second folder' folder or in the 'third folder' folder I don't receive any notice.
It isn't a problem of permissions because I use user with administration permissions.
Can anybody help me?

Once again: If your description is right, then it is a bug. From what you have described, nothing more can be said.
"two companies with the Portal" - Nobody even here in this thread knows the version (7.0? 7.01? 7.02? 7.1? 7.2? 7.3?), the SP level and the patch level of the KMC components. Nor do we know (do you?) if the companies you are referring to have the same version down to patch levels (very unprobable).
If you give all this information down to patch levels, you might have very much luck and somebody, being aware of being at the same version/patch level, could test it on his portal and report if everything is right there. But even if - would be of no help for you.
A good consultant could track such a thing down in max a day, being on site. But that's money. As the description points to a bug, the best effort would be to open an OSS message.
If the result would be a mistake on your side, it would make sense to come back and report in this thread what it was - at the same time, it would be the information missing to track this further down from here...

Autofill only works downward and right

When you want to autofill a cell in Excel you can go 4 ways to copy your cells, but Numbers only does downward and to the right.
A workaround is to copy your formula to the first (uppermost or leftmost) and then autofill from there but still *****.

A bidimensional plane has 4 ways or directions x, y, -x, and -y.
A tridimensional space has 6 directions x, y, z, -x, -y, and -z.
See those little arrow keys on your keyboard? Um 4 right?, well, if you are on a cell in the middle of your spreadsheet, you can go the same 4 ways as your arrow keys, up, down, left and right.
Common sense and apparently and against all odds, Microsoft (go figure) says that if you can go 4 ways, you can also do a 4-way autofill.
As for functionality, I've never thought about it as a special feature, but after the shock of not being able to do so in Numbers, I've found that many times I design a formula and after autofilling it, find maybe a mistake or a better approach and then go on editing the last one, solve the problem, and again autofill it upwards. Simple as that.

App created with DPS only works while on WIFI

I have created an app in InDesign and went through all the steps to create an .ipa. I then loaded it onto my ipad. The app works fine on the iPad only went it is connected to wifi. Once I disable any connection the animations in the app do not ever load. and I end up with blank spaces where there should be an animated image or such. Does anyone know why?

The version of the folio is 24
Another thing that I have realized is that I did create an animation in Adobe Edge Animate and I used the .html that Edge created in the InDesign Doc. When I created the app, it is this animation and only this one, that works on the iPad app when it is not connected to WIFI.
Any more thoughts?

Mouse will not scroll with FireFox but works with Explorer

The only time my BlueTooth mouse has problems scrolling is with FireFox.

V4 - After reloading all tabs, scrolling with mouse stops working

Multiple tabs open, right click on a tab and hit reload all tabs. The tab you are on wont scroll up and down with the mouse anymore until you click on another tab and come back.

does execute without error but it changes nothing.
the buttons do not wake the mouse which is why this is such a problem (well, the dpi button and LMB, RMB and MMB don't, there are two other buttons but I can't recall if I tested them)
Physically unplugging and re-inserting the mouse and keyboard fixes the problem regardless of any changes. The thing is that I would like it to be working from boot, and not having to replug them.
Obviously not working on my end though seeing I have to replug it every time it dies.
thanks for linking the post though (I had already read it but going through it a second time at least proves it wasn't just a one off that I didn't do it right or something but that it actually doesn't work. Odd that root doesn't have permission to do some things though, seeing that root should have ultimate power).

ICloud with Numbers: Only Works In One Direction?

Trying to get started with iCloud and a problem from the outset;
I use two computers;
iMac OS10.8.5
Macbook Pro OS10.9.2
and Numbers 2.3 on both.
When I upload to my iCloud the files can be read by both computers if I upload from my Macbook, but if uploading from my iMac the Macbook does not seem to see the files within iCloud when 'Open Files' within Numbers. I have the iCloud set up the same on both machines, and iCal seems to work in either direction.
How come? And no, I don't really want to go to Yosemite yet.

When you're doing a "clean-up" like that you need to use '''Reset Sync''' in Tools > Options > Sync - Current Account = Manage Account and use the ''' ''Replace all other devices with this computer's data'' ''' option. See the attached screenshot - use the third option.

Mouse scroll wheel now only working from right to left scroll...

After update yesterday (10/15) on my MacBook Air my wireless mouse (Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000) that has worked forever will not scroll up and down. Trying it In excel it will scroll right and left when I use it, but everything else (browsers, word docs) that have no real right left scrolling functionality there's no effect. Looking in Mouse options there's no option to change the scrolling orientation from rigth/left to up/down... help please.

ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint issues with scroll (55Y9003)

Hi Guys,
I am having issues with this keyboard...
I ordered it to use it on my work where I have Dell Vostro desktops.
However scroll simply doesn't work in all programs and even stops working ... I also using VM and it doesn't work at all in VMWARE even if you point inside it it still operates at host system !? Weird...
I have installed latest drivers 1.01 but nothing... So when I removed all drivers and just keep default scroll work as default but still not in all programs and not in VM Ware, etc... Just to be clear my regular mouse scroll works in all and works properly...
Is it possible that this keyboard will work only on Thinkpads used as external keyboard ?
There are two things to be installed when I start a disk one is driver and second one is some interface driver which can be only installed on Thinkpads ?! Couldn't be that that thing is missing when running on non Thinkpad systems?
Any help how to make scroll work in all programs?

I have the ThinkPad USB keyboard on a non-Lenovo desktop, and it works.
Yes the keyboard driver installs, but not the Lenovo System Interface Driver, for obvious reasons. All the buttons and TrackPoint work.
Yes the TrackPoint does not scroll in all programs. Search the community for "trackpoint scroll fix" and you will come up with instructions on how to fix this.
I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

L440 Clickpad - "Tap to click" function not working in "Trackpoint Only" mode

On a fresh Window 7 install it is possible to tap-to-click when using the Trackpoint rather than pressing down on the Clickpad (which is *very* noisy compared to the X220/X230 buttons and requires far more force). This is very nice alternative to using the Clickpad for left/middle/right button clicks when using the Trackpoint only. It requires almost no force, it generates zero noise and is very comfortable.
Unfortunately, upon installing the Synaptics Ultranav drivers from Lenovo SU, this function is no longer present! You MUST click down the Clickpad otherwise it is not possible to register a left/right/middle click when using the Trackpoint.
Even with Touchpad enabled this functionality is not present, which is quite baffling because you would expect that when the Trackpoint is used, the touchpad should behave as mouse buttons + gestures + scroll zones.
I remember that there were plenty of tricks that could be done through registry entries to enable/disable "hidden" functions of the Synaptics driver. Is there a knowledge base that I could browse and find out if there is a way of enabling the tap-to-click feature when using only the Trackpoint?

sorry for not getting back to you quicker, had a job getting hold of an L440.
When I received the system it had driver version 16.6.4.27 installed and tapping worked as expected. After updating to driver version 18.0.7.99 tapping also worked.
Which driver version did you receive from SystemUpdate?

After EFI firmware update the scrolling with two fingers doesn't work inside the browsers (both safari and chrome)

I've got a new MacBook Pro Retina from october 2013 13" (8 gb Ram and 256 gb SSD).
I had the "freezing" issue that was solved with the firmware EDI update.
But after this update i have now another problem: often during web browsing the scroll with 2 fingers up and down the page stops working (but the trackpad is ok for everything else and if i go in other programs the scroll works as usual). The only solution is to restart the browser but the problem happens again and again.
Both on Chrome and Safari. Especially on Safari everything freeze if i try to scroll on the right to go back to the previous page.
Does anybody else have this issue?
