Scroll Zoom Speed

Using OPTION + SCROLL on my computer is zooming in and out way too fast on InDesign. I can't figure out a way to control the speed.
I'm on a Mac using ID CS3.
The problem happens with my mouse and trackpad, which work fine everywhere else. Changing system scroll speed settings for either of them does change InDesign's scroll speed, but has no effect on its scroll-to-zoom speed.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your help, but did you see where I wrote that the problem occurs in the exact same way with my trackpad? I've also tried another mouse and had the same difficulty. So it's not just the magic mouse.

  • Scroll-zoom function does not work.

    Hey,
I am using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Pro on  Windows XP and somehow I am not able to use Ctrl+scroll for zooming in and out.
It only works using Ctrl++ and Ctrl+-.
Do you know how I can turn the scroll-zooming function on again?
    Thank you,
    Finn

In later versions the setting is controlled by:
Edit > Preferences > General > Basic Tools > Make Hand tool use mouse-wheel scrolling
I don't have a copy of A6 to verify if the entry is in the same place or not.

  • How do I turn off the alt scroll zoom?  When I'm in Adobe photoshop and illustrator using the pen tool, alt is utilized for another short cut.  I would like to use the alt command for the pen tool instead of zooming into the screen.

How do I turn off the alt scroll zoom?
When I'm in Adobe photoshop and illustrator using the pen tool, alt is utilized for another short cut.  I would like to use the alt command for the pen tool instead of zooming into the screen.

I tend to select things from left to right and every time I am moving in a downward right diagonal motion during lasso selection I am missing a clear view and I am tending to have a more sloppy selection.  All this does is slow me down since I need to go back and hit those areas again.  The big arrowhead just get's in the way.  The original lasso tool with the thin line and small active point at it's lower left was far better for me.
I don't like turning the cursors to precise because I like to see the active tool icon where my cursor is and as the icon changes as I hold modifier keys down.  If I am forced to get comfortable with using pricise cursors I guess I will, but man, I've never had to do this in my 15 years of photoshop use...
I would absolutely LOVE to find a way to get the old lasso icon -- without the arrowhead above it.
Is there any chance this option could be inlcuded in cursor preferences?  I'd give much thanks, Adobe.

  • UIScrollView - Scroll, Zoom, and Touches?

Im having an issue with a UIScrollView that I cannot figure out.
what I want to be able to do is to add images to a scrollview, and move them around by touching and moving them, while still being able to scroll/zoom the scrollview.
I've got an app where I have a ViewController whoes view (MyScrollView) is a custom view inherited from a UIScrollView.
MyScrollView implements touchesShouldBegin, touchesMoved and touchesEnd.
I add some subviews (UIImageViews) to MyScrollView.
when a touch event is handled, I compare the contentview to each of my UIImageView subviews, and if they match, then I save off which image is being moved. in thouchesmoved, I apply my changes to the selected subview.
I also have MyScrollViews delegate set (the viewController), and have implemented the two functions needed to zoom.
Now, here is the weird thing. If I comment out the touchesmoved implementation in MyScrollView, then MyScrollView will scroll and zoom like expected, but wont move the subviews (expected), but if I uncomment the touchesmoved implementation, then I can move my subviews, but MyScrollView no longer scrolls or zooms.
any thoughts as to why I cant get both working at the same time?

Since MyScrollView is a subclass of UIScrollView, you need to manually call the touchesMoved for the UIScrollView parent object so that it can do its default scrolling behavior. When you commented out your custom touchesMoved, then the message was automatically being passed to the UIScrollView's touchesMoved method.
At the end of your touchesMoved implementation, put
    [super touchesMoved:touches withEvent:event];
Assuming "touches" and "event" are the names of arguments in your function.

  • Scroll Wheel Speed in KDE, witha Razer Mouse???

I just bought a Razer Lachesis, with the firmware on the mouse configured from drivers on my Windows install.
    But-
How on Earth do I get the same scroll wheel speed in Arch that I do in Windows?
Some apps-such as system popups (i.e. plasma widgets download popup) follow what looks like the speed set in the mouse on Windows--most user apps do not...doesn't seem to be a Gtk/Qt thing.  Some apps such as the latest Opera10 qt4 64bit, do not follow the "Number of Lines to scroll" setting in KDE system settings.
I just reinstalled Arch64 with Vanilla KDE4.2.4, although I had the same annoyance on KDEMod4 stable.

No I have not, how does one set the wheel speed in Xorg?  I searched in the Wiki and online and didn't see anything.
I read about setting mouse pointer speed in Xorg in the Wiki, but didn't see anything about scroll speed.

  • Tabs for Point & Click, Scroll & Zoom, and More Gestures do not show.

    Hi all
Had to reformat my drive and install a fresh copy of lion but I can not see the  tabs for Point & Click, Scroll & Zoom, and More Gestures in my preferences all I get is
    Anyone have any ideas ?

Never mind. I found the answer. There is a selection in the Trackpad titled "When using gestures to scroll or navigate, move content in the direction of finger movement" that is what controls the setting.
I actually found the answer after I posted the question. I tried all kinds of combinations in the new ask a question psuedo-search feature of the support site and nothing showed up. After you post, the site offers questions similiar to the one just posted. It was one of those that solved the problem. I guess I didn't get enough keywords correct for the right answer to show up. I just wish Apple would let you do a standard search instead of trying to be helpful. So far, I've not found any answers I was looking for with the new search tool. All answers have been found on different sites using Google. Grrrr. </rant>

  • Kensington mouse and Leopard, no control-scroll zoom function

I see that this was discussed a year ago.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1204297
The Mouseworks driver is the same one--no update!
Anyone have a solution? It was nice to be able to control scroll wheel and zoom the screen from time to time. Is there a 3rd party mouse driver that works with the Kensington mice?
    Thanks!

You should find the software at path /Library/PreferencePanes/MouseWorks.prefPane -- that is in the root level Library folder, not a Library folder in a user's home folder. Any items in /Library/PreferencePanes/ should show up in "Others" in System preferences -- that much is normal.
The actual OS extension software that drives the trackball at the hardware level should be at path /System/Library/Extensions/KensingtonMouseDriver.kext.
The freeze is not normal. On my iMac G5, which has the MouseWorks software installed, the pointer responds during boot as would any standard USB mouse's pointer until the OS loads the MouseWorks software. At that point, the MouseWorks settings for buttons, acceleration, etc. kick in. This is very noticeable on my iMac because the acceleration setting in MouseWorks is much higher than the normal mouse tracking speed set in the Keyboard & Mouse system preference.
You can check for the presence of the MouseWorks software using System Profiler: Open that application & click on the "Extensions" item in the list at the left of the System Profiler window. You should see two items in the resultant list on the right, "KensingtonMouseDriver" & "KMWUSBHIDMouse." Clicking on each of those in turn should produce info in the bottom pane of the window something like this:
    KensingtonMouseDriver:
    Version: KensingtonMouseDriver version 3.0r1

Following the same procedure, but clicking on the "Preference Panes" item in the list should generate something like this:
    MouseWorks:
    Version: 3.0r1
    Supported by: 3rd Party
    Visible: Yes
    Identifier: com.kensington.mouseworks.prefpane
    Location: /Library/PreferencePanes/MouseWorks.prefPane
If you do not get something very similar (especially for the locations), it probably means the software has not been installed properly.

  • Delayed Fill command and intermittent scroll zooms image size

Since the last CC update I've noticed that the first time I open the Fill command it takes a moment or two to appear. Thereafter during the same work session, the Fill command appears immediately when pressed, as it should.  I am not using it with an especially large open image file.  This has only occurred since the latest CC update.  What might cause the initial delay?
The second thing I have seen is that the "Zoom with scroll wheel" command only zooms an open document intermittently.  It always works after I open Preferences and close them (without reselecting Zoom with scroll wheel - ie just opening and closing Preferences restores the function).  At other times it just stops working.
Everything else seems to be working fine.  Anyone else observe these behaviours?  Any ideas on causes or solutions, please?  I have not tried resetting Preferences yet.
I'm using a Logitech mouse with its latest driver.  Equipment is a 3770K cpu, Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe mothrboard, 32Gb ram, Asus GTX660 video card (with the latest drivers), (x4) SSD's for OS, Scratch and data files.  W7 64bit.  Photoshop CC.  System is stable.
    Thanks.

For anyone who might come across this issue in the future - the answer to the laggardly Fill command start-up turned out to be the removal of some Topaz plugins.

  • Turning off CMD + SCROLL zooming with Apple Magic Mouse?

Scrolling with Apple's Magic Mouse is extremely sensitive in Fireworks, so sometimes when I use a keyboard shortcut that involves the command key and I accidentally leave it pressed for just a split second after I perform the shortcut and I scroll at the same time, Fireworks will recognize the held-down key as wanting to "scroll'n zoom" and will quickly zoom in way too far/far out, sometimes causing the program to hang for freeze. Has anyone else experienced this and would be able to explain it better? It happens way too much for me. :/

    Hi
Same probem is here, suddenly pointer stopped to be active and no tracking at all. All buttons, gestures etc are performing well.
    - paired / unpaired > no result
    - replaced batteries > no result
    - cleaned contacts inside mouse > no result
    - cleaned laser > no result
Light is blinking only a few after mouse is connected, and completely stops to blink, while mouse buttons are working.
Tried to find solution on web, does not help much.
    Any solution?
    Thanks

  • Scrolling Thumbnails Speed

    Hi all,
I recently made a scrollong thumbnail gallery using a
    tutorial from Kirupa.com
    (Link).
I was wondering if there is a way to change the scrolling speed of
the thumbnails as the position of the mouse changes. That is, if
the cursor is a little to the right it scrolls the images at slow
speed. If it is further to the right, it scrolls at a faster rate.
Even further to the right, the speed increases again (this goes for
the left side as well). If the cursor is at the centre, the
    thumbnails don't move at all.
I don't need infinitely variable speeds, depending on the
cursor position (although that would be OK if it's easier to write
that way). I just want to divide the thumbnail bar into 7 areas,
with the centre as stop, 3 speeds to the left, and 3 speeds to the
    right.
    Please help a newbie out!
    Thank you in advance,
    -Tets T.

try mouse listener that you can get the _xmouse and _ymouse,
then you get the position of where your cursor is.

  • How to turn off CTRL+scroll zoom in the grid view of Lightroom?

Please help - I'm working with a big catalogue, where I have to do a lot of scrolling and keywording. I'm new to Windows machine (corporate), and having a problem when I want to hold CTRL and scroll down (to individually select more photos), it only zooms in and out...
Then if I release ctrl, there is always a risk to slip and lose the previous selection. When the workflow is thousands of photos to wade through, it is not fun at all and a waste of time.
There must a be a way of turning it off!
    Would appreciate any help.

    Hi,
If you wish to keep the CTRL key pressed and scroll up or down a grid list, just use the mouse on the scroll bar on the RH side of the grid.
To zoom you need to press CTRL and +/-.
If you press the CTRL key and try to use the up/down arrow keys to scroll it will increase/decrease the flag status of the currently selected image.
