  • Hyperlinks in a scrollable frame moving on scroll

    Context:
Application for iPad, created in inDesign with DPS.
    Situation:
We have a table inserted into a vertically scrollable frame. On top, we have a series of links that correspond to the table text (please see screenshot below).
    Problem:
When the table is scrolled all the way to the top, the links shift and no longer correspond the text.
    Details:
The links and the table are grouped. They were cut and placed into a scrollable frame.
              The links work.
              The scrolling works.
The links correspond properly to the text when the content is in the 'top left'.
Scrolling partly up, the links are still okay.
Scrolling all the way up, and the links scroll further than the table, causing them to be off.
    Screenshot below:
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Bob. I think I found the problem -- the new guy hadn't removed the old scrollable frame from the text when he added the links, so the links were in a scrollable frame, and the text table was actually inside two scrollable frames.
Sorry to have wasted your time with something that turned out to be an error on our side.

  • Problems with scrollable frames

I have an old DPS file that has videos inside a scrollable frame and they work fine. However, i am updating my files and in the new CS6/cc when i create the content, I group all the items, cut and paste into the smaller textframe and when i go to the Folio Overlays panel with the text frame highlighted, the option for scrollable frames is greyed out.  Video is highlighted but it will not allow me to create a scrollable frame.  Does anyone have a recommendation for what i am doing wrong.

You are correct, I missed your point.
I got it this time though and it worked!
    Wow, nifty work around.  Thanks.
Now that I have successfully embedded video within the scrollable frame, I am concerned about the 2 GB max from apple.
I researched streaming video and successfully tested this, however it seems the frame for the video needs to be scaled to the preferred viewable size because there is not an option for “play full screen”.  As you can see in the screenshot below, I am trying to place the video under the play button using streaming content.
Do you know if this is possible?

  • Anchoring an object within a scrollable frame

    Hi there,
I am trying to create a page that scrolls horizontally through a series of images. I am able to do this but I am having trouble anchoring my company logo so that it does not move when I scroll through the images. I have seen on apps that this is possible... can someone give me some advice?
    Thanks!

Turn your company logo into a two-state MSO that's set to Auto Play and Stop At Last Image. Put the logo MSO on top of your scrollable frame, and you'll be able to scroll the frame behind the logo. Let us know if that works, or if you're looking for a different effect.

  • Pullout sidebar help!  When hidden the scrollable frame blocks interactive content beneath it.

Ok, I feel like this is one of those things that has a really easy answer and I'm just missing it but I have been kicking it around for a few weeks and can't come up with anything.
Really basic problem:  I have a pull out sidebar for my app as a scrollable frame and it works fine.  It is the top layer of course because it has to always be available from any part of the app.
The issue, as I said in the title, is that even when the sidebar is hidden and you can only see the pullout tab, the entire scrollable frame is still invisibly blocking all interactive content beneath it.  So for example any buttons on that side of the app arent clickable, no video controlls, etc etc.  Anytime you click on that side of the app it thinks you are trying to manipulate the scroll frame.
I don't know what to do!
    Thank you for any ideas.

Redesign the page. That's simply how it works. The entire space of the frame is always live.
Try dragging in the middle where there's no content and you'll see that the content still scrolls.

  • V20 Problem Scrollable Frames

    Hi Everyone!
I have InDesign CS5.5 and I'm having a problem with the new scrollable frames functions.
I tried to recreate a scrollable frame like the one shown here tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-digital-publishing-suite/scrollable-frames-and-pan-zoom-v19/ at 03:43.
    My Problem is:
Hide Scroll Indicators does not work
Use Document Position does not work too.
I have installed the latest producer tools (FolioProducerTools-CS55-1.10.1 and FolioPanel-CS55-12.2.2.1).
I'm running Windows (Is this the problem here? :-P )
I un- and reinstalled the producer tools.
I also tried it on my windows notebook. Same result.
Do I need to install anything else to get it working?
Maybe someone can help me here.
    Best,
    Wolfgang
Message was edited by: Onefootvisual19 I uninstalled the Folio Producer Tools v 1.10.1 and installed s v 1.8 (where the feature scrollable frame wasn't available yet) than installed v 1.9 (the wanted function as described above didn't work) and then finally reinstalled v.1.10.1. It still doesn't work ...  Am I the only one here who experiences these problems?

Here are also three screenshots to illustrate my problem.
1.) I the red frame is the container of the grouped elements that are scrollable (on the left side is the whole element so you can see it). Hide scroll indicators option is checked and also use document position.
    2. When I start the Content Viewer the scrollable frame places the content on the upper left corner ...
    3. and scroll indicators are visible
    What's the problem here?
    Can  anyone help me out?
    Best,
    Wolfgang

    Here is another strange thing:
I looked up http://www.caniupdateadobedps.com/ and they say that you find the dps version number in the info window of the folio builder panel. it should be 20.
but mine says 15? though I installed v20 now for the fifth time.
the extension manager says I have v20 though.
Is this the cause for my dps functions not working the way they should?
I really would appreciate some help here.

    Dear Neil,
Thank you for pointing out the right direction.
    Here is the deal:
After I deleted all the parts you described and reinstalled the tools it still didn't work, but I noticed in the Extension Manager that the plug-in was still active and located at the location where I installed InDesign CS5.5. I again deinstalled the tools and also deleted the "(DigitalPublishing Resources)" folder and the plug-in "DigitalPublishing.apln" (which was from the year 2011).
Than I reinstalled the tools and after starting InDesign CS5.5 the panel window told me I'm missing a plug-in and I should download the latest producer tools.
Here is the trick: I copied the newly created (from reinstalling the new tools) "(DigitalPublishing Resources)" and the "DigitalPublishing.apln" from C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS5.5\Plug-Ins\Graphics to the location where I have installed InDesign CS5.5 and it works!
Neil, thank you very much for your time!
    You saved my day!
    Best,
    Wolfgang

  • Hyperlinks within scrollable frames

I'm trying to get hyperlinks within a scrollable text frame to work but it's not working properly in the content viewer. Is it possible to do them within scrollable content, and if so, is there a certain technique that works best? Thanks!

Sorry -- I've created a scrollable content layer that works properly, just with text scrolling down. I've selected the text and created a hyperlink using the hyperlinks panel (that works for the text in non-scrollable frames). When I view the issue in the Content Viewer on the iPad, the hyperlinks outside the scrollable frames work fine and open, but those within the scrollable frames do not. Is there a specific way I should be creating the hyperlinks within the scrollable frames that I'm not doing correctly? Thanks.

  • Hyperlinked button in scrollable frame not working

    Hi all,
I'm working on a multi-article folio. The first article includes a scrollable frame that contains a group made up of one image and two buttons.
One of those buttons works correctly; that is, it is a mailto that brings up an email client when clicked.
The other button should open a web page in a separate window. However, when I click this button, I get the following error message:
    Cannot Open Page
This page cannot be opened because of a error.
The error is "A server with the specified hostname could not be found." (-1003).
The odd thing is that another button in the second article that links to the exact same URL *does* work correctly. That article does not use scrollable frames; instead, the button is on top of an image sequence. I have very carefully copied and pasted the URL from the button that does work to the button that does not work. No joy.
Here's a screenshot of the first article that shows the non-functioning button outlined in a blue frame:
I am using InDesign CS6 (version 8.0) and Folio Builer
    12.2.4.20120611_m_691037 8.0.7.21 .
    Your help is much appreciated!

It happened to me too and the only workaround was that I copied the hyperlink text and created a separated text box and pasted the link.
I then made that textbox "fot frame to content". After that I created a button out of it and assigned the URL for it. After all this I pasted the button in the text as text object.
Here is a screenshot. This text was within scrollable frame

  • Hyperlink button inside scrollable frame

Is it possible to put a button that scrolls with the content inside a scrollable frame ?
I've tried with the hyperlink overlay and several ways with the button overlay, also tried to define the button action after defining the scrolling content (Bob suggests this in a topic from some months ago) but nothing seems to work, it's if the button doesn't exist.
When putting the folio online to check it on the iPad I always got a 'upload failed network failure' message but when clicking the try again button the upload restarts and at the end I got the 'content uploaded' message. Don't know if that could cause the button troubles.

I've had no problem getting buttons in scrolling frames to work so without seeing your files, there's not much I can offer besides making sure the links are created properly.

  • BUGS: stop at last image and scrollable frames

    Hey,
I think I've identified two bugs in the latest release:
    1) MSO slideshows that have Autoplay checked, don't respect the "Stop at last image" option, and return to the first stage regardless. This behavior only occures some of the times, and I am not certain what makes it happen. I think it may only happen with slideshows in which are configured to be exported in vector format.
    2) Scrollable boxes that are configured to be vertically scrollable only, are also horizontally scrollable, if the content of the scrollable box exeeds the horizontal limits of the scrollable frame.
Did anyone else expirience these bugs? Any workarounds or fixes?
    Thanks

    Doesn’t anyone bother to read?
I’m sorry, but It’s getting quite frustrating answering the same question over and over.
We now have about 15 threads on the same subject.
If you had read back just a few posts you’d know there’s a bug causing this.

  • DPS and Scrollable Frame text

Having an issue with text rendering inside a scrollable frame, it seems to be cut off slightly at the top. Seems to be a new issue, is there an solution outside of just adding a return before the first line of text?
    Thanks.

Thanks, Bob. Seems like a fairly simple fix. Appreciate the help!

  • Where is the "Scrollable Frame" on the Overlay Creator panel?

I can't seem to find the "Scrollable Frame" on my Overlay Creator panel and now I'm caught in the middle. Is there anything that I missed? I can only see the following:
    Hyperlink
    Slideshow
    Image Sequence
    Audio & Video
    Panorama
    Web Content
    Pan & Zoom.

I know you mean the other Bob, but the purpose of that is to have something to align with the edge of the scrollable content.
Without the dummy content you wouldn’t be able to position the content. Try doing it without that and you’ll see the problem.

  • Scrollable frame is text: anchored object in text can not be button?

Following example: A textframe. With an anchored object (group). Paste textframe in other frame to make scrollable frame (pan only). Select anchored frame in already pasted into textframe, make button for anchored object (go to state).
Does not work, button does nothing (and yes a converted it to a button after the paste into other frame as last step).
    Not possible?
    DPS v18

If you want the button in the scrollable frame to control an MSO state, the button/scrollable frame needs to be part of the MSO. It is an InDesign limitation that buttons cannot control videos, audio clips, or MSOs unless they're on the same "level" in the document.

  • Create a PDF with Scroll ( content in scrollable:TXT and Pics)

How can I achieve this: I am working on a project where  the Document will be share in PDF format and  I need the whole content to be in a scrollable frame, so that the Top banner and Buttons below will show at all times.. the content should be scrollable (Photos and text)

    1.  Create your document in Illustrator
    2.  Do a "Save As PDF" out of Illustrator
    3.  Open the PDF in Acrobat.
    4.  Use the Form Tools to create you fields
    5.  Save the Document in Acrobat
    6.  Done.
You should be ready to distribute the PDF form now.

  • Problem with V19 Scrollable Frame

I have a magazine that worked find on V18 of producer tools, since I upgraded to V19 I am having ptoblems.
I have a standard page size 2048x1536 (iPad 3), and I have the whole page set as a scrollable frame with a background placed behind it. Then all my content for the page is pasted into the scrollable frame which runs much lower than the 2048 page length. You can then scroll the page within the scrollable frame rather than having a long page to scroll down. This also creates a nice layering effect where the content moves on top of a static background.
This worked fine for me on V18 producer tools, but now when I load my magazine onto my iPad, I'm scrolling through articles and when I hit the page with the scrollable frame you can no longer scroll left or right and you're stuck on the page...
Any idea how I can fix this as I have a client that has seen and likes the layering effect? Last thing I want to do is have to remove it and just make a long page.

    Which totally sucks, BTW.
If you use JPG or PNG then it works but you lose the razor sharp text and pinch and zoom that PDF provides.
I really don't get this one, either. Especially since the scrollable frames option gives you the ability to make it vertical only. That should eliminate any "confusion" as to which way to you want to scroll and which way you want to swipe.
