  • Use of scrollbar in forms

    hi guys
    iam developing a custom form using forms 6i
    this is my prob i have a content canvas and a tab canvas in my window i have abt 20 col in my one of tab and i want to use a scroll bar in the tab how can i use that option can any one help me urgent

    You can try to use the stacked canvas into your tab canvas.
    In this way you can use the vertical scrollbar to go through your records and the horizontal scrollbar to view all the columns.
    Hope it helps you,

  • Horizontal scrollbar in forms

    Hi All,
    Working on 6i forms. We have vertical scroll bar which lets us scroll down from first to last record in a block. What do we have if we want to scroll from first field to last fields of displayed record. This is assuming, we have to display say, 20 fields for one record and all can't be shown on screen at one time... similar to what we have in say Excel Sheets.. even the property palette of a object ( when we reduce width of property palette window).
    Came across scroll view, but that scrolls whole page/view/canvas ( including the buttons that are triggering the scroll action, anything else on that page). We want to just scroll thru the records field (as in case of vertical scrolling). Any ideas?
    Any inputs would be appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards.

    used a stacked canvas with the scroll view. On the conetent canvas put the fields you don't want to scroll. on the stacked canvas put the fields that will scroll.
    Designer generates those nicely.

  • Cuatom Forms: Loosing the Vertical scrollbar when resizing the Window

    Hi All
    I have developed a Custom Form. In that there is a Content Canvas and on the top of that I have put a Stacked Canvas so that i can get both the Horizontal and Vertical scrollbars. the form has more than 40 fields to display.
    Folder tool functionality has also been added to the Form.
    The form works absolutely fine and scrollbars too.
    But when I am resizing the window (making the window size bigger or smaller by dragging the window on the Oracle Apps screen), at that time I am loosing the vertical Scrollbar. Other than Vertical scrollbar everything works fine.
    Is there any way (any code) by which the Vertical Scrollbar will not disappear.
    I would really appreciate if any one could guide me on this.
    Thanks
    Madhu

    Madhu,
    Please post your message in the Oracle E-Biz forum. This forum is for Non-EBS Forms development and everyone here may not have EBS Forms development experience.
    That having been said, I encountered this about a year ago. If I remember correctly, we were able to resolve the issue by applying a Forms server patch to the Apps Tech stack. Please check Metalink to verify.

  • Forms 5 Tab Canvas & Horizontal Scrollbar

    We are trying to implement a tab canvas which will hold a multi-record data block. The difficulty is that we would like to display a lot of fields and there is no Horizontal Scrollbar easily available for the Tab Canvas.
    We are thinking about "simulating" a tab canvas by using stacked canvases. The stacked canvas allows us to have the scrollbar, but looses some of the look & feel of a tab canvas.
    Anyone try to do this in Forms 5? How about anyone try to place a stacked canvas on top of a tab canvas?

    We're using forms 6.0.8.8. Our standard practice is to never put items on a tab canvas, instead we put stacked canvas' on the tab canvas. Besides having canvas scroll bars, it also provides a basis to work around documented bugs for refreshing/resizing windows when returning from other forms/windows of different sizes etc.

  • How to handle Scrollbar's event in the Form Block !

    I want to create three Block like
    Block : X-axis , Source From View
    Block : Y-axis , Source From View
    Block : Cell , Source From Stored Procedure.
    The relation is (X-axis , Cell) , (Y-axis ,Cell).
    Then , if i scroll X-axis or Y-axis Scrollbar , then Cell will change !
    Problem : If X-axis Cursor record does not change , the Cell's Data will not refresh.
    Can tell me how to handle the scrollbar's event , Thank.

    Thank you.
    The Cell's behavior is a matrix , the relation will execute when X,Y record is changed !
    if you move the scrollbar , will chanage block's data , but the cursor record does not change another!.
    If i use JaveBean to handle it , possible ?

  • Forms 6i window scrollbar focus (flickback)

    i have a requirement to make a tall/high dialog style form that can be displayed on different screen resolutions. A scrollbar needs to be used to enable users of lower resolution screens to scroll from the top of the canvas to the bottom (<b>without key press type navigation</b>). The problem is focus flicks back to the last item that had the cursor in it.
    For example:
    in forms 6i (at least) if you create a content canvas that is larger than is able to be displayed on the screen then assign it to a window that has a vertical and/or horizontal (so you can scroll down the oversized canvas) and can be maxmized. Place a text item at the top and a button at the bottom of the canvas. run the form, focus/cursor goes to text item at the top. maximize the window. use the scrollbar to view the button at the bottom....as soon as the mouse leaves the scrollbar and enters the canvas focus flicks back to that part of the canvas containing the text item which has the cursor in it. This makes it impossible to ever get to that button without a key-next-item or other navigational function.
    i have tried many different settings including using a stacked canvas with its own scrollbar and the same thing happens.
    why on earth is this? is there some way to get around this problem - i want the focus to remain in that part of the canvas that the scrollbar was used to view.
    any assistance would be appreciated.
    regards
    ps: i have not been able to locate any related discussions on this point.

    i have found a workaround, albeit not enormously satisfactory.
    The MDI window scrollbar does not seem to have this flick back problem, just forms defined canvas and form window scroll bars (at least) do. Therefore, so as long as the over-high (or over-wide) form is in a window that is Document Style (meaning it is affected by the MDIs scrollbar - unlike DIALOG style windows) then an overlarge "dialog style" called form can be scrolled down via the MDI scroll bar.

  • How to act a form like a frame with scrollbars?

    How can i setup a form like a frame?
    I got a long list of input fields in my form which doesn't fit on a page.
    So i was thinking of creating a form that has frame with scrollbar function, like the iframe in HTML.
    Is there any way to do this??

    Not sure I understand what you want, but I set up a page with 2 items on one row, 3 on the next. http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=23834:30 is that the sorta thing you want to do? - control where the items appear?
    If so - you can just use drag and drop layout, or on the items settings (Displayed settings), specify whether or not it appears on a new line or not.

  • Show scrollbar for whole PDF form

    Hi,
    At the moment, on preview or when the form is embedded in a webpage, the scrollbar is not showing. I reckon this is because this PDF form only has 1 page. However, as user is allowed to zoom in/out for embedded PDFs on webpages, a scrollbar is needed. Is there a way to force the scrollbar of a PDF form to appear?
    Thanks,
    Bernard

    Hi guys,
    Found the solution.
    There is a property that disables panes(which include scrollbars), i.e.
    event.target.viewState = {overViewMode:5};
    Hence, removing this line of code will fix this issue.

  • Scrollbars problem when running a form with Sun Java instead of Jinitiator

    Hi All;
    Our forms are configured to run with the Sun Java instead of
    Jinitiator; functionality wise everything works fine, but when running
    the forms on the web there are 2 extra scrollbars
    (one vertical and one horizontal) in addition of the browser scrollbar.
    Note: This is does not happen when running the same form with Jinitiator (same configurations)
    Anyone encountered this situation or has an idea how to to get ride of the extra scrollbars ???
    Thanks.

    Thanks for your replay.
    I was able to make all forms working without scrollbars when running form developer at the desktop (windows os) without scrollbars
    but when I run them at the application server (Linux Red Hat 3 Enterprise), scrollbars are still there.
    I tried your suggestion but did not help
    here is the formsweb configuration
    [jdk15]
    baseHTML=base.htm

    width=975
    height=575
    form=xxxxx.fmx
    lookandfeel=Generic
    logo=no

    The window get maximized at when-new-form-instance.
    Does it has to do with the canvas or window height and width at the design time????
    Thanks.

  • Unable to move scrollbar due to forms bug

    We use Headstart for Designer 6.i.
    I have spreadtable in the form with verticall an horizontall scrollbars.
    In PRE-FORM trigger I used procedure qms$config.set_spreadtables_resizable('TRUE').
    In the running form when the window is resized the error message is displayed:
    'Unable to move scrollbar due to forms bug' and verticall scrollbar is lost.
    But in Headstart demo this utility works OK. I can't find solution for this problem in oracle Helpdesk.
    Thanks for reply.

    Martina,
    There is a bug in forms that won't allow you to change the 'x-pos' of a scrollbar to a value bigger than the width defined for the canvas at design time. So, if you stretch the canvas and set the 'x-pos' to a bigger value, you get a runtime error from designer. If you look in the Headstart User Guide under re-sizable spreadtables, you will see that we recommend that you put the vertical scrollbar on the left side of the screen instead of on the right side when using a resizable spread-table. That's what we did in the demo application.

  • Scrollbar is missing form Adobe Dropdown List.

    Hi,
    Scrollbar is missing form interactive Adobe Dropdown List. Same design is working in other system very well. What could be the reason?
    Thanks.
    Ali

    Hi Rali,
    I faced the same issue and posted two blogs on it. you may refer to the same.. I wont suggest it as handling too many records is not advisable in PDF forms.
    Here comes the importance of Markus's blog -> <a href="/people/markus.meisl/blog/2006/12/22/a-pdf-form-or-not-a-pdf-form--that-is-the-often-the-question">The blog most miss .</a>
    The basic question is - whats the need of a drop down with 4k entries. The users wont like to have a drop down of that sort. I would rather note the value down than to search for a single value, not to forget the size of the scroll bar. wat abt users prefering keys than a mouse pad??????.
    On top of it, this would greatly reduce your form performance.
    Hope this helps. i did the custom search help stuff, and it was preferred. Still the Form will need to refresh - which users wont prefer again.
    Hope we have a better standard search help soon :(.
    - anto.

  • Scrollbar In Oracle 6i Forms

    Hai all,
    I want to hide the scrollbar of a detailed block depending up on the data in the master block.
    but i can;t find any thing in the SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY.
    or is it possible to hide entire block including the scrollbar?
    thanks in advance.
    Manu

    I want to hide the scrollbar of a detailed block depending up on the data in the master block
    1.You cant create scrollbar at runtime (forms 6i)
    2. If scrollbar property yes(static) then we can play with hight and width and placement of scollbar.
    is it possible to hide entire block including the scrollbar?
    but if u want to hide the block that is possible
    if u place the detail block at different canvas (as stacked).

  • Forms 5 - run fine on Win2000.  WinXP has scrollbars

    Our application is designed so that the splash screen and all subsequent forms fit within the frame of the application. No vertical/horizontal scrollbars.
    We are just starting to get WinXP machines. When WinXP users start our application, the application window has vertical and horizontal scrollbars. This is because the look and feel of WinXP has fatter GUI widgets.
    Can someone give me some ideas on how to eliminate the scrollbars for XP users? I would prefer if possible, to not have blank space for non-XP users.
    thanks,
    Rick

    That did the trick, thanks!
    One weird thing, though. I set it to height, width of about 1 inch bigger. I can see the full 1 inch on XP. But on Win2000 (my development machine), the window is only a couple of pixels bigger. It really isn't noticeable. Luckily, this is the exact behavior I want - no change for non-XP users, and a bigger window for XP users to eliminate the scrollbars.
    Thanks to all who helped.
    Rick
