ScrollBar in Reports

Hi All,
Is there any way through which i can put a Scrollbar (Horizontal) in a Report ?
I have to show a Repot where there are lots of values on the X-Axis which makes the View a lot clumsy.
Kindly Reply if there is a way to achieve it..
Thanks

As far as I know, This is not possible. Please let us know if you find a way to acheive this.

  • Scrollbar for reports output in html format

    We are creating reports with fairly large amounts of data being directed to the screen in HTML format. We were expecting to see a scrollbar along the right hand edge of the report window that allows us to see all of our data. Is this possible?
    Alternatively, how would we split this data up into multiple pages? There isn't really anything to break on. We do want our totals on this last page.
    Thanks.

    hello,
    unfortunatly the varying destination types are only valid for bitmap reports.

  • Html report scrollbar in LV User Interface

    Hi Everyone
    I'm designing a LV User Interface with a HTML report view. Everything is working nicely except that while the report is being generated the report text becomes wider than the report view causing a horizontal scrollbar to appear which then shifts the report view to the far right hand side. This is annoying and we don't want the operator to constantly have to scroll the horizontal bar across every time.
    How can I disable the Horizontal scrollbar or enable the text to just wrap around. The culprit in the HTML report is when the full path name to the sequence is displayed, if I could at least disable the filename from being written that ought to help. This ought to be done within the reportgen_HTML.seq but where?

    Hi
    To help you remove the report path from the report I will need to know what are your report settings.
    Can you please post your "TestStandModelReportOptions.ini" usually found under <TestStand>\cfg folder.
    To try to resolve the issue with the horizontal scroll bar I have a couple of questions:
    1. What version of TestStand are you using
    2. What version of IE is installed on your machine
    3. Can you please post a sample report and a TestStand Sequence File which causes this issue
    4. What is your OS?

  • BIP report using HTML view in dashboard printing without scrollbars, parts

    Have created BI Publisher report in the MS Word using Landscape page settings.The report is printing without scrollbars in the OBIEE Dashboard using HTML view.
    Could not see the whole page output...have tried using resolution property settings in the dashboard configuration...havent found any solution.
    Have tried to use MHTML but the logos are missing.
    Any quick solution for the above will be very helpful.
    Thanks
    Baddam

    Hi Venkat,
    Thanks for your quick respond.
    1.) Auto Run is enabled. And the report runs automatically as well. But then it ignores the dashboard prompt (as a regular report would do as well). But when I choose some values in the prompt and then press go. Then it says I have to press on view as well.
    2.) no that is not the case. My report is so big that it always need a scroll bar ;) also adjusting the size settings in the dashboard doesn't help. The only occurs when viewing in HTML, when previewing in excel or RTF it all just work fine.
    3.) true, but ow well this is the least importetant one ;) so if this doesn't work, than it doesn't work ;)
    4.) Ok, I will have a look on that.
    5.) I did enabled HTML and EXCEL outputs in my BIP report. But when the first point is working, then I don't want to see the control bar anymore and I want to have the output on the dashboard in HTML and then I want to build a button, or a link or something that exports the request to excel. Is that possible?

  • Reporting Services - Horizontal Scrollbar not scrolling sometimes fields exceed page width

    We have a landscape report with lots of fields, causing report to span in width, more than page width. We don't print the report, just view it. Problem is that sometimes when previewing the report, the horizontal scroll bar opens to a size of the whole report
    window and there's no actual scrolling functionality to have the report show what's to the right of the data shown.
    We checked this with IE8, IE9, and as it seems there are entries on the internet about such problem, but we haven't encounted an entry with solution / bypass to this problem, when relating to preview within report builder / VS / Reporting Services in
    IE (they relate there only to reportviewer control if at all).
    We did find that in this event, manually zooming the IE window where the report result is shown, helps the horizontal scroll bar go back to what it should be, and work, e.g. zooming down to 75% and returning in zoom up to 100%....
    Can you please advise ? Thank u

    Hi moital,
    Just as you said, I still think the issue is caused by Internet Explorer. We can try to
    run IE in
    compatibility mode or
    disable third party add-ons
    of Internet Explorer (IE) to check the issue again. If this issue
    is still existed, I suggestion you post the question in the following forum:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/home?category=internetexplorer.
    It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.

  • Open report with "Save as" and "Open with" dialogue

    Hi,
    I'm using jasper reports within my application. I manage to open them in a new window but in that case the url containing JasperServer username and password is shown. I would like to open the report without showing the url.
    I tryed using a database procedure (http://sqlcur.blogspot.com/2009/02/jasperreports-in-apex.html) but all I get is a alert window saying "file does not begin with ' pdf-'". Couldn't see what is the problem (I used the same procedure as Ino has in his example) so I thought of another way. Is it possible, when someone clicks a button to open a report, to open that report with a "Save as" and "Open with" pop up window?
    The javascript function that I use:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function openLAPopUpJasper(url){
    w = open(url,"winLov","toolbar=false,menubar=false,location=false,resizable=yes, //scrollbars=yes,status=yes,fullscreen=true");
    if (w.opener == null)
    w.opener = self;
    w.focus();
    </script>
    Thanks in advance!

  • Losing carriage returns in textarea / using plpdf to generate report

    Hello,
    I'm using Apex 3.1.1 and Oracle 10g database. I would appreciate any suggestions on how I can preserve carriage returns in a textarea when sending the text to a package that generates a report. Please see example of current problem (below code). I'm using an onkeypress function to check for keycode = 13 when the Enter key is pressed -- that is working. I also created an alert to show the url value -- I can see the text on multiple lines, so that appears to be working as well. The textarea value parameter in the package is defined as varchar2. Per the support folks at plpdf.com, chr(13) indicates an explicit line break, and they told me to check my text. I don't know what I'm missing. Thank you for any suggestions you may have.

          if (w.opener == null)
            w.opener = self;
            w.focus();
       function build_params()

    Hello Michael,
    Thank you for your response. After doing some researching and experimenting, here's what I have found so far.
    First, using an onkeypress function to alert the keycode, a chr(13) is being returned when I press the Enter key in the textarea.
      function check_Enter(e)
        var keynum;
        var textval = $x('P212_INCORRECT').value;
        if(document.all)
          keynum = e.keyCode
        else
          keynum = e.which
        alert(keynum);
      }Next, when I access the value of the textarea via javascript with $x('P212_INCORRECT').value, the chr(13) is automatically converted to the newline character (\n). In an attempt to replace the \n with a \r so plpdf will recognize the carriage return, I added a javascript replace function before sending the text to the package, and it does not work.
      function build_params()
        var lparms;
        lparms = '';
        lparms = lparms + '&p_incorrect=' + $x('P212_INCORRECT').value;
        lparms = lparms + '&p_correct=' + $x('P212_CORRECT').value;
        alert(lparms.split(/\n/g).length - 1);  // confirm that a newline character is found
        lparms = lparms.replace( new RegExp( "\n", "g" ), "\r");  // replace newline character with carriage return
        return lparms;
      }When I tried to replace the newline character (\n) with chr(13), the chr(13) is printed out like it is text instead of a special character. In order to test that I have the correct syntax for the replace function in javascript, I tried replacing \n with '...', and then in the package that generates the PDF, I replaced the '...' with chr(13). That works!
    In response to your comment about the PLPDF procedure for multi line section, I am using: plpdf.PrintMultiLineCell(180, 6, l_incorrect, '0', 0). As a newbie to javascript, I am not sure why replacing \n with \r is not working. Can you advise how to use a chr(13) in the javascript replace function and have it recognized as a special character and not text? I don't know how to view special characters in the textarea other than checking for them with javascript.
    Thanks, Lisa

  • Open BI Publisher Report After Submit

    I have a page with 2 date fields, which are parameters for a report.
    I also have a button called RUN_REPORT.
    What I need to do is that the user puts the parameters in, then clicks RUN_REPORT. The page should submit (putting parameters into session state) and then a BI Publisher report should appear in a pop up page.
    At the moment using the code below, the user inputs parameters and clicks RUN-REPORT (SUBMIT). Unfortunatley the BI report tries to open before the submit is finished. So there are no items in session state for the report to use as parameters.
    Page HTML Header
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function renew()
    doSubmit('SUBMIT')
    popupURL('This contains my string to open the report')
    </script>On my button
    javascript:renew();Help appreciated
    Gus

    I've solved this in two ways:
    First solution:
    - The last parameter the user has to pick is in a selectlist which submits the page
    - The button redirects to url:
    javascript:popUpNamed('URL','');Seccond solution (and user-friendlier solution ;) ):
    1 - Hidden item (say P_RAP), default it's empty
    2 - The buttons Action is 'Submit page'
    3 - A conditional Branche to the own page, which only runs when the report button is pressed.
    3a -- This branche sets the hidden Item (P_RAP) with the report name (in my case, becouse I can start multiple reports on the page and I use it in my URL to the report, it can also be just a 1 or something, just that it is filled)
    4 - A Page Process which runs On Load - After Header, and is conditional: Value of Item P_RAP is NOT NULL.
    4a -- The code of this process is:
    BEGIN
    htp.p('<script type="text/javascript">');
    htp.p('w = open("URL_to_the_report","_blank","Scrollbars=0,location=0,resizable=1,menubar=0,toolbar=0,left=50,top=100,width=500,height=500");');
    htp.p('</script>');
    :P_RAP:=''; /*clear the P_RAP item after starting the report*/
    END;Hope this helps

  • Report Region incrementing ID number by 1 using Javascript

    I have a report that pulls file names and id numbers from a table and displays them on the page.
    I have set the 'id' column, which is a number type field in the table, to be a link to a javascript url that uses that number to delete the file from the table in question.
    Whenever the javascript call passes the ID number to the function, it seem to round the number off - somtimes increasing the value by one and sometimes decreasing the value of the number.
    My link on the report uses this syntax;
    javascript:delFile(#ID#);
    and the delFile function is as follows:
    function delFile(cid){
    var auth = $v('P52_AUTH');
    if (auth.indexOf('D')>=0 || auth.indexOf('A')>=0) {
    window.open('f?p=&APP_ID.:119:&SESSION.::NO::P119_DOCID:'+cid,'PopUp','scrollbars=no,resize=no,height=300,width=300');
    else {
    alert('You do not have sufficient rights to delete documents.');
    I am at a loss. Why does the 'cid' var get rounded up or down when the variable gets populated?

    I concur with what you are saying - this is standard javascript handling and my first assessment of the situation was that it had something to do with the data in the tables. The problem is that the data in the table is simply a number, and the function is passed the number through the link on the page.
    Putting a functioning example on apex.oracle.com would be like me dealing with a problem I am having painting a house by building a robot to dip the paint brush in the paint bucket for me. The test would never result in an apples to apples example, and is far too complex an option to give any valuable return. Additionally, the reason I submitted the results I did is because when it works for a particular record in the table, it always works no matter what. When it doesn't work, it doesn't ever work for the data record in question. There isn't any mystery in this except for the 'black box' that is in the middle of it that populates the #ID# value. Is there anything under the hood with that that could cause the number to inexplicably round off?
    My next guess that I have not tested is if the issue happens in Internet Explorer as opposed to Firefox. I have seen the problem in Firefox on Windows and Firefox on Ubuntu.
    Is there anything in the report template that could cause the #ID# to inexplicably round itself?
    I will do some additional testing and post what I find.

  • Hyperlink on Crystal Report: how to popup a window without menubar?

    Hyperlink on Crystal Report: how to popup a window without menubar?
    Hello Experts!
    I'm using VS2003 with Crystal Reports for VS2003.
    I need to show a popup window clicking a hyperlink text object on my crystal report.
    On the CrystalReportViewer I have set up HyperlinkTarget=_blank, and it's working fine.
    But when I click on the hyperlink and shows the popup window, how can I show the popup window without menubar, toolbar, directories, etc.
    Something like:
    window.open('../MyPage.html?id=id001" + Cad + "',null,'menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,resizable=yes,status=yes')

    Adam is correct. The closest you can get is setting the CrystalReportViewers HyperlinkTarget to _blank. It was seen as a potential security vulnerability to allow you to run scripts from a Crystal Reports. In our Enterprise product you can use a reg key called EncodeHTMLForSingleLineFieldObjects to control whether this can be turned on or off.
    Unfortunately this was never ported over to our .NET CrystalReportViewer.
    This is referenced in notes 1202803, 1219298, and 1219301.

  • How to startup a report in a popup after committing a form (solution)

    How to startup a report in a popup window after succesfull submission of a form</p>
    In Portal Applications you can create forms in which e.g. users can enter
    order-entries. When a user submits his order, it's a good practice to show his
    filled-in order-form, containing the delivery address, items, descriptions,
    prices etc etc.</p>
    In this solution the order-report is started up in a popup window after
    succesfully completing the order-entry form.</p>
    Once you've created the form and report, you have to take two extra steps
    (the abbrevation mos represents MyOrderSystem and offcourse you should replace
    that by the schema- and applicationname you use).</p>
    1  Create a package to startup the report</p>
    <font face="Courier">create package MOS.MOS_POPUP_ORDER
    as
     procedure show ( order_id varchar2, backurl varchar2 );
    end; </font></p>
    <font face="Courier">create package body MOS.MOS_POPUP_ORDER
    as
     procedure show ( order_id varchar2 , backurl varchar2 )
     is
      l_url varchar2(2000);
    begin
     if order_id is not null
     then
    -- URL to startup the report. Surf to the Develop tab while managing the
    -- portal-report and click on Show the call interface.
      l_url := 'http://www.mydomain.com/pls/portal30/'
            &#0124; &#0124; 'MOS.MOS_ORDER_REP.show?'
            &#0124; &#0124;
    'p_arg_names=_show_header&;p_arg_values=YES&;'
            &#0124; &#0124; 'p_arg_names=order_id&;p_arg_values='
            &#0124; &#0124; order_id;
    -- Display the popup window and startup the report.
      htp.p('<SCRIPT> var MyWindow = window.open(&quot;'
            &#0124; &#0124; l_url
            &#0124; &#0124;
    '&quot;,&quot;MyOrderWindow&quot;,&quot;toolbar=no,location=yes,directories=no,'
            &#0124; &#0124;
    'status=no,menubar=yes,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,'
            &#0124; &#0124;
    'height=400,width=600,left=150,top=150&quot;);'
            &#0124; &#0124;
    'MyWindow.focus();</SCRIPT>');
    -- Now you have two options:
    -- 1. When you have your form in a Portal Page, you want to return to the page.
    -- 2. When you have your form in a full window, you only have to return to that
    --    window.
    -- The coding is as followed:
    -- 1. Copy this URL from the navigator pointing to the page.
      l_url := 'http://www.mydomain.com/pls/portal30/'
            &#0124; &#0124;
    '!portal30.wwpob_page_util.redirect?'
            &#0124; &#0124;
    '_pageid=123&;_mode=3&;_tabstring=&;_portletmode=&;_cache=1';
    -- 2. Parameter backurl contains automatically the correct url to return
    --    to the form in full browser mode.
      l_url := backurl;
    -- Now return to the original window.
      htp.p('<SCRIPT>self.location.href=&quot;'
           &#0124; &#0124; l_url
           &#0124; &#0124; '&quot;</SCRIPT>');</font></p>
    <font face="Courier"> end if;
    end;</font></p>
    2  Modify the form</p>
    In the &quot;on succesful submission of a form&quot; part you enter this
    PLSQL. Note that the order is identified by the column ORDER_ID and the CALL
    procedure needs two parameters: the url for starting up the report and the
    parameter name for the back-url. </p>
    <font face="Courier">declare
     l_order_id integer;
    begin
     l_order_id := p_session.get_value_as_NUMBER(
     p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
     p_attribute_name => 'A_ORDER_ID');
     call('mos.mos_popup_order.show?order_id='&#0124; &#012 4;l_order_id,'backurl');
    end;</font></p>
     </p>
    null

    Excellent tip! Thank you for that!
    One question - where you have hardcoded the URL to navigate to the report and back again, I'd like to be able to do this without the hardcoding. The domain of my development environment is different from the domain of my production environment, and I don't want to have to remember to change the URL when I handover code. How could I do this?
