Scrollbars in an iFrame not showing in Firefox 17.0

I have a public facing site that uses a DIV, containing an iFrame, to display a virtual site, in a jQuery dialog window, when the user clicks a link. For both IE and Chrome, when the user gets to a page that is longer than the dialog dimensions the div style tag scroll: auto; causes a verticle scrollbar to appear. In firefox 17.0 this scrollbar does not appear, but it did in pervious versions I had installed, only after updating to 17.0 did the scrollbar dissapear. After some searching I found a site talking about the dom.disable_window_open_features.scrollbars value in the about:config. When I set this value to true, default false, then refresh my page and click the link, the scrollbar is now present.
This is great if I was only concerned about the pages I myself browsed to. Unfortunately, the site I am developing is an outward facing site and I am unable to control the setting on other user's instances of Firefox. I will not bother to ask if I can control the about:config settings via javascript as I the answer wil be 'no'. So here are my questions to you ....
1. What can be done to ensure that my site runs properly under Firefox like it does under IE and Chrome?
2.Do you plan on fixing this issue in your next release?
3. If the functionality worked in pervious versions, which I know it did, why was the browser changed in such a fashion that it caused working code to break?
Regards.

Could you post a link to a publicly accessible page that doesn't require authentication (log in) to access?
Note that on Linux the width of text fields is determined by the size and font-size that is specified.

Adobe Reader if always free. Acrobat requires a purchase.
Also Acrobat X has different UI, there is usually a floating toolbar that can be used to open the full toolbar.

• Image only viewable in Safari. Does not show in Firefox 3.0 (OS/Windows), IE7&8

I used an index template .dwt and inserted a logo header image.
Using Browser lab it renders in Safari but not in Firefox 3.0 for both OS/Windows, IE 7&8, and Chrome.
Using FILE-->VIEW IN BROWSER, which is Safari it is fine.
A friend used FIrefox and IE7 and the image did not show or same results as Browser Lab.
Orginial code:
<img src="../pictures/logo_header.jpg : Safari good, other browsers did not show image
2nd try: Code: src="/~sanchezg/pictures/logo_header.jpg", This time Safari did not show header image either.
Location: www.unm.edu/~sanchezg
From PROPERTIES--> SRC --> BROWSE FOR FILE
URL: ../pictures/logo_header_jpg
Relative to: Document : index.dwt
Selecting 'Change default Link Relative To in the site definition:
Default Images folder: /User/xxxxx/Sites/GabeSanchezFIles/Pictures
Links relative to: Document is selected
Web URL: http//www.unm.edu/~sanchezg
What are your thoughts?
Thank you

I'm troubled by these answers because they seem to further muddy the water. Here's the important concept -
All links in the TEMPLATE file should be one of three kinds -
1. Relative to the template file, e.g.,
<a href="../ (meaning that you must go up one level from the template folder
to reach the root of the site, hence all other files, since none of them
should be in the templates folder)
2. Relative to the site root, e.g.,
<a href="/ (meaning that one would begin looking for the linked file at the
root of the site and follow the pathing from that point)
3. Absolute, e.g.,
<a href="http:// (meaning that the link is to a page external to the site).
Seems that none of the suggestions are putting you on that path first.

• Why is my site Title not showing in Firefox?

Hello
On my site at http://fbibiz.com/, the page Title flashes briefly in the Title bar, but then reverts to 'Mozilla Firefox'. The title tag is in place (correctly as far as I can see).
Any suggestions, please, as to why my page Title is not showing correctly?
Thanks,
Jon

• A div in a site am developing is not showing in firefox but shows on all the other browsers (chrome, safari, opera and explorer), can anyone help?

i am developing a site and i used divs in making the arrangements.
all other divs on the page shows but on particular one does not show.
i gave all the divs a border with a red color, all the other browsers(explorer, opera, chrome and safari ) shows the divs with the colors but firefox does not even show the red color

Can you post a test case demonstrating the problem? It doesn't need to contain confidential content or active links. (This forum doesn't handle raw HTML very well, so I don't recommend pasting code here unless you convert your angle brackets to HTML entities.)

• Web gallery images not showing in Firefox

I have just created a web gallery in Adobe Bridge CS4. I had it working perfectly in all browsers and now all of a sudden the images are not showing up in Firefox. Anyone else have this problem?

If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains.
*Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the hidden Menu bar.
Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images
*Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
*If an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.
Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the about:config page should be 1.
Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
*Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Note that these settings affect background images.

• Video and audio players will not show in Firefox. Players show in Safari and Chrome. (Mac computers). Do I need a plug-in?

Tested on 3 apple mac computers:
Mac Pro, Mini Mac and Macbook Pro.
Each computer running Mountain Lion and Firefox 11.8.800.94
Video and audio players not showing on website (video player is JWPlayer)
Error on video player placeholder says 'No video with supported format and MIME type found'
When the same site is access via either Chrome or Safari then the video and audio players show with all of the controls.

You get this error if the video tag is used and not an object or embed tag that specifies a Flash player.
So this doesn't look like a problem with the Flash player as it is most likely not used in this case.
If there is fall back code to use a Flash player then it isn't working.

• Topic headings not showing in Firefox, with RoboHelp HTML version 8 WebHelp

1. I have just upgraded a customer's Help project to RH8, with a WebHelp layout.
The finished WebHelp Guide works fine in Internet Explorer 8.
But Firefox 3.0.1.5 (latest update) does not show topic headings (style Heading 1) where they are automatically linked to the Topic Properties > Topic Title.; i.e. the topic heading is a Field {Title}, using rh-variable_start name="title" etc. Firefox only shows the topic heading if the heading exists as text in the WYSIWYG field.
I checked a backup copy of the compiled WebHelp that I had generated using RoboHelp HTML version 7, and this works OK - all topic headings that are fields display OK in Firefox.
2. Also, some images (.gif format) do not display in Firefox that is generated by RH8.
Any ideas, anyone?
Philip

Hi,
Note: All I post here are my findings. I didn't test all DHTML effects and I'm not a javascript guru, so I may be wrong.
As far as I can find, this behaviour is defenitly a bug, although it's not related to headings, CBT's or images. This is what I found:
Whenever you have multiple DHTML-effects that kick in on load, Firefox only displays the one that is defined first in the topic. In the bottom of the topic, you'll find a script like this:

In this case, the image with id img1 is loaded first and displayed correct. All subsequent effects (heading with id h11) is not displayed. Putting the heading in front of the image will show the image, while the image is not displayed.
I suspect that the effects are not correctly parsed into
if ((gbBsNS6)&&(srcObj.addEventListener))
srcObj.addEventListener( noOn.toLowerCase(), new Function("event", newHandler ),false);
on line 2994 and 2995. Changing or deleting line 2995 effectively removes kills on load effects (ie not showing anything with an on load effect) as expected.
If you also use DHTML effects and find the same behaviour as Philip, please post a bug report.
Greet,
Willam

• My webpage does not show on Firefox, but it does on other browsers

I have a personal website, http://www.kryshu.com that I have created myself on Dreamweaver. I have 7 pages and all except one appear on Firefox. Everything was fine until a couple of months ago when I updated some of the pages, again on Dreamweaver. All of a sudden my 'Portfolio - images' page does not show anything. It is empty - blank. It had text and images. I reloaded several times but each time the 'Portfolio - images' page is blank.
This happened only on Firefox. On Internet Explorer and Chrome the page works fine.
So, I presume the problem is with Firefox. What should I do?

The content is on the page, but is shifted down considerably.
Looks that this is caused by a simple typo: height="790%" instead of height="790" for one of the tables that causes all content to get shifted down.

<nowiki>
</nowiki>

but nothing shows.
Something is blocking the download. Prabably because this is an exe file. There is a Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition installated, but I cannot find where the restriction is defined.
I am not that familiar with whether there is a some Windows configuration effecting this restriction
Also I am using Verizon FIOS, I do not suppose this is a source of the problem.

The address bar does not show. How do I get it to appear?

* If the menu bar is hidden then press and hold the Alt key down, that should make the Menu bar appear. Make sure that you have the Navigation Toolbar and other toolbars visible: View > Toolbars .
* If items are missing then see if you can find them in the View > Toolbars > Customize window.
* If you see the item in the Customize window then drag it back from the Customize window to the Navigation toolbar.
* If you do not see that item then click the Restore Default Set button in the View > Toolbars > Customize window.

• Multiple cftextareas not showing in Firefox 11?

After upgrading to Firefox 11, any page with multiple CFTEXTAREA richtext fields results in the second field not displaying at all. Commenting out the first field allows the second field to show without issue. Both fields have individual ID and NAME attributes as follows:

<cftextarea id="email_header_html" name="email_header_html" height="125" width="550" richtext="true" toolbar="Basic" wrap="virtual"><cfoutput>#qry_get_sale.email_header_html#</cfoutput></cftextarea>

• Image not showing in Firefox browser

in IE images is showing okay but in Firefox images are showing like some sort of image icon but not actual image.
Do I need to do some setting in Firefox ?

img src="\i\chart.gif"One this that seems wrong is your slashes are leaning the wrong way. Which explains why IE sees them and FF doesn't. IE is tolerant of the backslashes because that's the windoze norm. FF won't do that.
Can you tell me what is i \i\ (How does it gets it
value ? )/i/ is the alias setup in your Apache configuration that points to the images directory on the server.
The #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# or #APPLICATION_IMAGES# substitution strings are generally the accepted way of dealing with files (THMLDB calls them static files) that you upload into the database.
