Scrolling a page at a time with contacts
I love the page at a time scrolling feature with photos, does anyone know how to do it with contacts? thx.
thanks for your response, let me repeat the question: how would an ipod user scroll a page at a time eg. 50 contacts/click, the next click would show the next successive 50 contacts, and so on....

Using InDesign CS5 version 7, on a mac OS10.6.8
I would like to be able to scroll through a document one page at a time using my mouse scroll wheel. In some other programs there is a setting to scroll "continuously" or "by pages" — in the latter, each scroll wheel click turns one page. Is there such an option with ID?
If not, how does one best scroll through a large document one page at a time?

MarcIf you want to simplify it a little more, you can use the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box in InDesign to edit the Previous Page and Next Page shortcuts so that you don't have to also press the Option key, just Page Up and Page Down.
I don't know if this applies to you, but I work with two-page spreads a lot and prefer to scroll by entire spreads at Fit Spread in Window magnification, so I take it a step beyond that and assign the Previous Spread and Next Spread commands to the Page Up and Page Down keys, respectively, so one key advances the entire spread. -
Embed pdf in website, show one page at a time, with forward and back controls?

Not sure if this is possible (or if this is the right place to ask), but I need to take a multiple page pdf, embed it in a website so its on the left half of the screen, have it only show one page at a time, and have the forward and back page controls.
Is this possible, and if so, could someone point me in the right direction?Typically you would save it to a JPeg and post those on the web site. Expecting a PDF to show up depends on the client computer configuration and browser. This is too risky, unless you don't mind getting nasty little notes that it does not work. If you do it with JPegs, then all the browsers I know of can handle it. Then simply put the PDF separately for those who prefer to download the PDF and look at it separately.

Unable to scroll through pages of a PDF with mouse scroll wheel
I have identical computer setups at home and at my office (27" iMac running Yosemite, a Logitech mouse (M-BJ58), and Acrobat Pro XI). On my office Mac, every increment of the mouse's scroll wheel advances one page, but on my home Mac, I have to scroll the wheel several times before it advances to the next page, and then once it does, no amount of scrolling will make it advance any further in either direction. I've tried everything I can think of, and I can't figure out how to make the scrolling behavior at home match that of the office.
In Acrobat, Page Layout is set to Single Page and Zoom is set to Fit Page in both places. Any ideas?Answer, no, I do not know the cause. Single web site problems are not either Safari or the operating system.
I seriously doubt if resetting the iPad will fix the problem. If you still have problems, contact Macy's tech support.

The title says it all, I'm not really sure if this is the proper place to post this as it's not a "bug" per se. I noticed on the list of bugs "fixed" in Firefox 10 scrolling more than one line with the arrow keys was one of them. I know a lot of people hated the one-line thing too so I'd suggest in future releases it should be a preference we can change.
You can right-click either Back or Forward button to open the tab history list.

Can I go back in time with Contacts saved on iCloud?
I noticed that roughly 300 contact on my iPhone were duplicated. When I started deleting the duplicates, both would disaper. I back up my contact and most other things to iCloud (not iTunes). Is there a way to go "back in time" to receive them? Thank you.
You can restore the latest backup on icloud back to your device. But that requires wiping the phone and starting fresh; connect to itunes and perform a restore.

Scrolling 1 page at a time from my MacBook keyboard?
Can I generate a keyboard shortcut to do this? I can't find a way myself. Am I missing something simple?
Both fn + up or down arrow as well as ctr + the arrows works fine on my MBP. I haven't adjusted the view to fit the window so it moves one window view at the time.
If it is slow on your computer there is something else not working as it should. Have you restarted the computer lately? Restarted Pages? Saved the document often?
For diagnostic purposes you can create a new user account in the system preferences. Log in and try Pages in the new account. If Pages behaves here there is something wrong in the old account. Most often it helps to delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist in the Users > your name > Library > preferences. -
How can I scroll one full page at a time using the mouse wheel?
I've had this problem for 3 years now. When I nudge my scroll wheel (IntelliMouse Optical) one notch forward or back, Safari moves 1/4 of a page up or down. How can I get one nudge of the scroll wheel to move one full page up or down? Firefox has an add-on, SmoothWheel, that can be set to a full page. Are there any options for doing this in Safari, without having to go to the keyboard? I tried Smart Wheel, no setting for that.
Any ideas? thanks
p.s. Please don't tell me to get another mouse, I've tried dozens of them and the old IntelliMouse Optical is the best one for me. (I'm also stuck on an ancient Apple M2980 keyboard. I love those old keyboards.)

When using an external (ergonomic mouse) is there any way to get the wheel to scroll one full page at a time? Much appreciated.

Full page width then one page at a time, not working as before on new reader
full page tool not jumping screen to use full width.
Then using one page at a time with scroll wheel on mouse not jumping page to page, just scrolling part of page as before.
Don't they check this stuff before a new release?

If you really want help, stop messing with the fonts and post so that others can read and offer suggestions.
Or better yet... try a search, I'm certain you'll find a solution to whatever issue you're experiencing.

the problems seems that the free trial what i am constantly paying for may have ran out/free trial time never contacted as i find this online to take to long and to hard to deal with yet a paying costumer restricted by some weird fault i don't get this tried every thing how can i be billed and money taken for hired subscription but end up with a "free trial" that cut me off having withdrawal as i live my life inside Photoshop
Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps. -

MikeaaaI am running Snow Leopard. Transferring the same texts to TextEdit has no problems, so this is a Pages problem, I think. Corruption of Times New Roman and Arial fonts, I suspect, but where? and what do I do about it? I just need to be pointed to a source of advice, I think.

In Firefox 4, back button only goes back 1 page at a time. how can i go back further with one click?
in Firefox 3.6.10, i could click an arrow next to the back button for a drop down menu of previously visited pages. in Firefox 4, i can only go back one page at a time. has it been removed in the new version or am i just overlooking it?
in case you've taken it out, would you consider replacing it? sometime a page won't let you go back no matter how many times you hit the back arrow.

Would like to use 4nr iPads as an autocue system. Can I view the same pdf on multiple iPads at the same time with 1 iPad operating as the master (controlling page turns etc) and the others operating as slaves? Can this be done without the use of 3G or a remote Wifi hub? I would appreciate your input.................

How do I send SMS only at ALL TIMES with an iPhone to ALL contacts? iOS 8 now forces all Apple users to use iMessage all the time with all other iOS users. The option to send as SMS only is subordinate to iMessage in iOS 8 settings and CANNOT be turned off to send only SMS texts to another iOS device! This is a serious privacy issue for all households using iOS and doing family sharing, including over a number of iOS devices, under one member's Apple ID. Why should business conversations or financial conversations between parents be readable on an iPad in the hands of a teenager or a seven year old? The answer is not as simple as "Just don't enable iMessage on your other devices," because amy family that shares the Apple ID password is vulnerable to teenagers particularly hacking into iMessage to monitor, for example, what their parents are saying. If I were Samsung or Google I would hammer this issue immediately and continually until it is fixed by Apple (and I'm not sure why they haven't yet). iMessage is a convenience but it has this serious limitation given the architecture of the Apple universe. Apple simply cannot force all its users to conduct text messaging in arbitrarily limited way, any more than it was able to force all its users to switch from Google Maps. When will Apple fix this?

Turning off iMessage does not prevent you from sending messages to other Apple users. You can send an SMS to any iPhone without your own iMessage turned on, even if it is turned on on their iPhone.
The SMS-only option is: Turn off iMessage. Literally. That's it.
