Scrolling in adobe 9

since the update to adobr 9 I have not been able to scroll through pages using the
scroll wheel on the mouse. When using the scrolling wheel the page will resize

Sounds like you are holding down the shift or ctrl key that does the resize. Are you using Acrobat or Reader? Adobe is a company, not a product. If you are using Reader, try the Reader forum.

    Terry White, Adobe worldwide evangelist, shows how Adobe Muse CC lets you create stunning effects with just a few clicks. Make images and elements move in different directions at different speeds when scrolling — all without writing code.

    There has to be a way to create a Re: Discover New Parallax Scrolling with Adobe Muse CC | Creative Cloud for Design | Adobe TV slideshow that fills browser width. It's not a problem for desktop, but it is a problem for laptops/tablets/phones.
    How did the site in the tutorial do it? Terry said it was created in Muse.
    Here is a test site that I've been working on - I would love to make it responsive w/o having to create separate tablet/phone sites:

  • Choppy scrolling on adobe acrobat.

    hey guys, i just installed adobe acrobat x pdf reader on my macbook air 13 2011 model core i5.
    problem is: the scrolling so choppy. at first i thought it was normal but when i compared it to my friend's macbook pro (snow leopard), the scrolling in adobe was noticably choppier in mine compared to his. i have done some research via google and tried most of solution out there. i dont have air display installed or any 3rd party app that involves mirroring my display.
    i am very disappointed as i expected the scrolling to be smoother, at least as smooth as older macs. i am currently on lion 10.7.3
    Any suggestions? is this lions fault?
    thanks

  • Scroll() in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader X using Javascript

    Hi there,
    Does someone know how scrolling works in Adobe Acrobat/Reader using javascript?
    The scroll() functions needs two parameters: x and y.
    How are these axises defined? Is this based per page or does the scrolling reference change every time the page changes?
    Why we need to know this? We're making and application in Flash Builder that loads a PDF. External buttons need to call an embedded javascript within the PDF that scrolls up or down.
    Anyone who can provide us with some information concerning this topic: thank you!
    Regards
    Mario

    Well,
    It's hard to formulate: basically we need to understand how the scrolling is handled in Adobe Reader.
    Like: why does the scrolling index change every time you change to a new page. It gets resetted or something.
    Anyway: you cannot create a variable "scrollVerticalIndex" and "scrollHorizontalIndex" and increment it everytime you want to go down or up/left or right and say scroll(scrollHorizontalIndex,scrollVerticalIndex). Also, if you zoom in, the dimension of your page stay the same. We cannot find a way to calculate top or bottom of a document.
    In a perfect world you could say: (height of a page) x ((number of pages)-1) = total height of the document (and thus the total amount you can scroll up/down). But that is just not the case...
    We want to get an insight how the scrolling works :-)
    Does this make sence ;-) ?

  • 100% cpu when scrolling in Adobe Reader 8.1.2

    I've installed Reader 8.1.2 on a 2003 Windows server STD Edition with SP1. Everytime I open a pdf document (regardless of what's contained in it)and I scroll using the mouse or the scroll bar the AcroRd32.exe process spikes near 100% utilization. The effect is, scrolling slows down extremely slow and you loose control of the scrolling until it stops. Once the scrolling stops the CPU utilization comes back down to zero for the AcroRd32.exe process.
    Side note, I've tried different types of pdf documents, some with plain text and some with pictures. The same result occurs every time.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • IOS and Android Native Scroll in Adobe AIR

    I think it would be a great idea to implement the smooth scroll present in native iOS and Android applications for use in Adobe AIR projects.
    Currently, the only way to obtain smooth scrolling lists with images is using StageWebView to show the image list in HTML format, and then awkwardly implement some JavaScript / AS3 communication functionality so the list in the StageWebView is interactive and can communicate with the main program. This is excessively complicated and very error prone (I've found some inexplicable JavaScript errors that only happen in the iPad, not in Android, and not in the PC!).
    It would be way better to be able to skip all the StageWebView process altogether and being able to use a simple AS3 API to put any sprite/movieclip into a scrollable canvas which can be moved using the iOS native scroll.
    Using Flash animation to simulate the scroll in a list with images is too slow in the iPad and gives a bad user experience. iPad users expect the native iPad scroll, not some poor jerky simulation. A native scroll is the only way to go.
    And even though I talk about the iPad, this should be applicable to the native Android scroll, too.
    Scrolling is a VERY BASIC action in a tablet, so this should be implemented as soon as possible.
    Actually, I'm amazed we're already at AIR 3.0 beta, and still after all this time nobody thought of this. All sorts of fancy stuff is being added to AIR (hardware accelerated video, webcam and microphone access, etc...) but still something as basic and important as a smooth scroll, which every tablet user expects, is still not possible in Adobe AIR. We either have to implement some slow Flash animated scroll, or use the extremely complicated StageWebView with JavaScript/AS3 communication approach (I'm using a third party library called StageWebViewBridge for the JS/AS3 interoperations, which is great, but still, it's a far from ideal solution, since it's pretty fiddly and the JavaScript code doesn't always work properly in iOS).

    Hi again jackson@mja.
    I've given your scroll component a try just for some static texts, and I've found quite a few important bugs:
    1. If the referenced sprite/movieclip is shorter than the scrolling area, it starts bouncing infinitely in a quite funny way,
        which renders the component unusable. Sometimes it even happens when the content is not shorter.
    2. If your component is used inside another sprite/movieclip which is added dynamically from code ("addChild(mySprite);"),
        it doesn't work and stops with an error, because the EventListener for mouseDownHandler is being added to this.stage
        in the constructor, but a dynamic movieclip doesn't have access to the stage while in the constructor step (unless it is
        already in the stage added in the Flash IDE, such as in your FLA example). To fix this, I've added the following code
        to the ScrollArea() constructor:
    this.addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init);
    this.addEventListener(Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE, close);
        And then I've added the following listener functions:
    private function init(event:Event):void {
    this.removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init);
    this.stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, this.mouseDownHandler);
    private function close(event:Event):void {
    this.stage.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, this.mouseDownHandler);
    3. Also, the scrollbar is only correctly rendered if the scroll area is located at the up and left corner of the stage. To put text somewhere else, the component must be put inside a movieclip.
    4. This is not really important, but I've found the following variables are never user and so I've removed these lines:
    var xy:Point = this.localToGlobal(new Point(this.x, this.y));
    var wh:Point = this.localToGlobal(new Point(this.width, this.height));
    var sign:int = sign(obj[i]);
    I hope this can help you improve your classes.
    Best regards,
    OMA2k

  • How to Parallax Scrolling to adobe muse ?

    I am starting working with adobe muse these days and i really liked the  Parallax Scrolling. BUt my muse is not showing it in effect option. Please help me out how i can include that feature in my muse.

    As Syrax12 pointed out, Parallax Scrolling has moved from the Effects panel to the Scroll Effects panel. Some of the videos from June 2013 refer to the old location under the Effects panel.

  • How to print content inside a scroller in Adobe Air

    Hi experts,
    I am currently working on an Adobe AIR application that shows the  user some graphical data. As this data is more in height to fit the  screen height, I've placed it inside a scroller.
    Now I want to take a print of this visual data, mostly some charts  and lists but I only see a single page containing only the part of the  screen that is currently visible to the user. I want to have the entire  content inside the scroller to appear on the page.
    I tried using both PrintJob and FlexPrintJob but couldn't find a way  around. Can anyone please help me by providing an insight, some source  code will be greatly appreciated.
    Looking forward to your replies,
    Thanks

    Alex,
    From http://www.darronschall.com/weblog/2005/11/the-secret-to-printing-in-flex.cfm,
    I adjusted my code to
            if (printJob.start())
                FlexGlobals.application.contentGroup.clipAndEnableScrolling = false;
                results.scroller.viewport.clipAndEnableScrolling = false;
                setTimeout(continuePrinting, 250)
            function continuePrinting():void
                printJob.addPage(results.scroller.viewport as Sprite);
                printJob.send();
                results.scroller.viewport.clipAndEnableScrolling = true;
                FlexGlobals.application.contentGroup.clipAndEnableScrolling = true;
    Now it does print a small portion of invisible portion, but the view of limited to a single page. I observed the contentHeight property of the viewport and it is 6097. But the printout is limited to a single page. I also tried giving a rectangle as the second parameter for the addPage method of printJob giving the height of viewPort.contentHeight but of no use.
    How are you suggesting to create a new view of viewport outside the scroller ? Can you please paste some code for reference for better understanding of your suggestion?
    Thanks

  • Scroll wheel Adobe Reader 5.0.9

    The Mouse Scroll Wheel is not working in Adobe Reader 5.0.9. Does anyone know reasons why or how to fix? Thanks!

    I am using Adobe Reader ver 5.0.9 on Solaris 10.
    Upgrading to Adobe Reader 7.0.9 is probably the best option, but I would like to first understand if the mouse scroll wheel functionality is even supported in ver 5.0.9? I would hate to install 7.0.9 and still have the scroll wheel not working.
    Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

  • Ability to scroll in Adobe Digital Editions

    I have downloaded a book into Adobe digital Editions and expected to be able to use the touch screen on my MS Surface Pro 2 to scroll through the book by simply swiping a finger up and down the screen as I do in every other program that i've used.  However it just dosen't happen.  Is it indeed possible?  Any suggestions?

    It appears not at this time. Seems like that would be commonplace, (Even full desktops and laptops have touchscreens now...) But sadly no, AND the "next/previous" page buttons are very smal. Try using this app on an 8" tablet... You can increase font size but not the size of the function buttons. (Even Adobe's PDF reader has a touch option that makes function items a little larger)

  • How do you keyboard scroll an Adobe Reader document the same way as a web page?

    When I use the up and down arrows using a browser it simply scroll the page as a whole, not line for line. I can not seem to figure out how to do the same with Adobe Reader. I often have 2 column documents (similar to newspaper width) and find it frustrating scrolling as the cursor jumps around. It's not a smooth transition at all. I am often frustrated with this. How can I fix it? I searched and google and did not find anything. Automatic scroll is the closest I can get it to work. Seems like such a simple task is made complicated.

    Windows 7. Document being opened directly with Adobe Reader X 10.1.8.24.
    Like I said in the original post I'm using the arrow keys. The page up keys are for scrolling entire pages. I want to smooth scroll as you can with browsers. Can't seem to figure it out. The page keys are choppy and it's easy to loose your place this way. Using the arrow keys only scrows a cursor on the last page the cursor was on. If I skip from page 1 to 10 for example, and my cursor is still sitting on page 1, if I hit the arrow key, it brings me back to page 1.  I experience this on ALL systems using Adobe Reader.

  • Inability to Scroll in Adobe Portfolios

    We recently installed the Adobe Acrobat 10.1.5 update, but ever since, have noticed that we are unable to scroll through a Portfolio, using the scroll button on our mouse. In order to scroll we must manually click on the arrows on the right hand side. We use Portfolios every day, so this is a little annoying - is there anyway to fix this?
    Thanks

    Hello Tamara,
    Is the issue remain same if you create a new portfolio file?
    Have you created original portfolio via outlook emails?
    Would it be possible for you to share one sample file? You could use Adobe SendNow for sharing the file.
    Thanks,

  • Scrolling Over Adobe Icon

    Whenever I scroll over an adobe pdf file icon (but don't click on it - I'm scrolling to a something else), adobe immediately opens in Task Manager.
    How do I disable adobe from opening up when I scroll over an adode file icon?

    BUMP
    When I scroll over a pdf file as I'm scrolling on to a different file, 2-3 instances of Acrobat open up in my Task Manager, even though I did not open the pdf file.
    The previous reply is irrelevent  - I never said Adobe opens the Task Manager, I said that when I scroll over an adobe pdf file but do not open it, Acrobat opens up and is listed in my Task Manager even thogh I never opened the pdf file. My computer freezes up a bit and I'm forced to open Task Manager and forcibly close multiple instances of Acrobat which I never opened but which opened simply because I scrolled over the file en route to another file.
