Scrolling in Photo Events List for iPod Syncing

I'd like to know if this is a iTunes-wide bug or simply something on my computer. When on the Photos pane for iPod Touch syncing, there is a box for Events. Scrolling this list of Events on my touchpad only works horizontally, not up/down, though the list is a vertical shape.
Scrolling works everywhere else perfectly, including elsewhere in iTunes.
Running iTunes 9 on mid-2007 MBP.

Still occurs on iTunes 9.0.1...horizontal scrolling is, for some reason, preferred in many of the sync boxes now.

  • Help: Capturing photos from camera while iPod sync

    Big problem...
I started my canon sd600 camera to start capturing 90 pictures from my wife's birthay, but I was also sincronizing my ipod and both libraries are in an external LaCie drive.
Immediately after I turned on camera, the iPod Sync failed and also all pictures within iPhoto dissapeared... they were showing an admiration mark... I could only see the pictures just imported from the camera...
The only way I was able to see all pictures was to quit iPhoto and choose again the library. However, when I did this... there were NO pictures just captured!!!!!
Sadly I selected to delete the pictures in my camera after downloading them... Now I lost 90 pictures...
I believe they have to be somewhere since they were effectively captured... just need help to find them!
Can anyone of you friends help me?

Do a search on Macupdate using 'recover photos' and you'll get a lot of suggestions for Software that will recover the photos from your card.

  • Is there any option for ipod syncing?

ok, so i just moved over about 17000 images from i photo and after a 7 hour import, i realised, i may not be able to sync to my ipod. is this true?

Hmm interesting question. I too am wondering this, as I'd like to get an iPod for the field eventually (realizing that the iPod doesn't display RAW images).
I believe that the sync happens with iTunes, so it's very possible that it only works with the iPhoto library. Maybe an update to iTunes is needed before this will work.

  • Printing an Event list for a calendar

Hi I track events in a set calendar within ical, these can be weeks apart. is there anyway of printing a list of events in a calendar say for that year ?

My solution: I created a macro in excel
    This is what I did
    - copied and pasted search results from ical to excel
    - (Next I deleted the first column and instead gave my calendar a header name)
    - under "data" chose "text to columns"
    - created columns using a space as a delimiter
    - highlighted the date column (not months or year, just date) and under format chose cells (HERE IS THE KEY STEP): and changed the category to text
    - I then did a search and replace for commas in the date field and replaced the commas with nothingness
    - I was then able to, using sort, put everything in chronological order (first sort: sorted month and date colums, making sure to chose under "options" for the month field the month names. Then I did a separate sort for the year column)
    And that's it!
I saved it as a macro and now I can create calendars for any other search results that I want

  • PPlaylists with underscores no longer available for iPod sync

I use underscores to move my most commonly used playlists to the top of the list*, as they are the ones I use most often. This keept them easy to access using my iPod mini, but since the latest update, it will not show the underscored playlists in the iPod -> Music -> Playlists section of iTunes, and I cannot change whether they are on or off. Is there a way to force it to recognize them, or to manually downgrade versions, to the last that worked properly?
    *Thus, I have:
    _RadioDocs
    _Lectures
    _Photography
Some appear in the iPod, but none appear in the playlist selection pane on the iPod manager.

  • Maximum of 1363 playlists for iPod sync?

I have iTunes sync selected playlists to my iPods, but I have encountered what appears to be a playlist limit to do this. I have a very large library (+18k songs) and a large number of playlists (around 1400). iTunes does not show any playlists after the 1363th. Even worse is that the last time I synced my iPod, playlists that were alphabetically less than 1363 but now past that point are deleted off the iPod without warning. Is this a known limitation? I haven't been able to find any information online about this. I was able to produce this error on multiple iPods (both Mac and Windows formatted) on both iTunes for the Mac and Windows).

ok going by my quotes/your answers
you state no recreation of music as itunes does this..how do you automatically sync your ipod/itunes then to the ways we chose the album to play??
how do you choose the playlists to be synced to your ipod??
the 10-20 cd issue..i create a playlist of great tracks i want to hear from 10-20 cds as some are crap etc so we make a playlist of what we want. then this playlist automatically gets synced everytime it gets new tracks added to it with the ipod that has this playlist. going by the browse option it is limited to just that artists, albums etc and not MY playlist that i made from it, what order i want etc.
you question playlists as if there should not be so many- as in 1400 is a lot...beside the point that i should not feel limited to how many playlists i have, 1400 is not that many to music collectors, i have over 25,000 songs in my itunes, i collect vinyl and record that also. so a playlist for each piece of vinyl. The point of the matter is limiting playlists creates nothing but problems, was it placed to itunes to be a solution to anything?? No
fine example-original soundtrack The devil wears prada it is missing 2 great songs from it KT turnstill and Madonna Jump. so i make a playlist with the original soundtrack and i add the missing songs. I should be able to choose that playlist and those2 extra songs are there. but the problem is i have so many corrected soundtracks, albums etc that i cant even get to my S section to load to my ipod automatically. when i then use the browse section to add the soundtrack it can be added but missing the 2 songs. hence frustration occurs. and this is the same for me using the example of adding the 4 new tracks to ipod. if it is in a playlist with my own compilations of songs they will not load using the itunes browse section that ppl keep referring to. so this is a "DRAMA"
most albums we buy dont have songs we all love, we change tracks about, we have fav pref in how we want to listen to them etc and this is what ppl that have been commenting on this issue have been forgetting.we have a choice in how and what we listen to and apple is taking this away by limiting music playlists. so hencea playlist is needed for each and every album.and doing it the browse way etc is not the answer.
i wish i was to be wrong and that there was a way for me to be shown that you can load any compilation, and listen to it however you like but sadly it is not the case. See how frustrating and slow it is having to delete a playlist one by one just so i can get to the 1400 mark to load my music as i have it. so at least 1600 playlists @ 30sec-1min per playlist to delete (my playlists approx 3000) so about 14hrs non stop deleting to get the most out of my ipod/itunes...fun fun fun..NOT and there are better things i could have done today on my day off.

  • Best Photo Recovery App for Ipod video?

Hi.... what should be the best app recovery tool out there that is compatible with iPod video?

If you copied photos to your iPod using the full resolution option you don't need a 3rd party program. Enable disk use, open your iPod in "my computer", open the photos folder then open the "full resolution" folder and drag the photos out of that folder to your desktop. For enabling disk use look here.
    Disk Use.
As for other programs, I don't know if this is the "best", but it's one I've used successfully before.

  • Music files not found for iPod sync

Trying to sync my son's iPod nano and none of the music files can be found, when I look in the library, none are indicated by an '!' so I can't re-find them for the computer. I've re-stored the iPod but to no avail.  Forums have indicated that we've moved the library, which we haven't.  Please help.

    Hi LCGeo,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
You don't say if the songs play in iTunes or not.
Please see this article for finding music on your computer.

  • Wish list for iPod Shuffle improvements.

Wish Apple would come out with a battery indicator for the iPod shuffle in the dock or pull down windows! Or maybe put a battery indicator in iTunes window under 'autofill', something to indicate the battery level and if it is charging or not. The idiot lights on the iPod are ambiguous and leave the user in doubt.

    Send your feedback to apple.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipod.html
I don't however see the problem with the lights. When it is solid green it is charged. Solid orange charging but safe to disconnect. Flashing orange charging and in use (don't disconnect). Orange and green indicates error.

  • How do i tell how many Gb i've enabled for iPod sync?

    Hi!
Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, but i can't find an easy way to show how many GB of my iTunes Library I've enabled to sync with my iPod, which has less memory than the library.
    Any suggestions?
    cheers
    martin

I "check" songs that I want to load onto iPod (40Gb iPod, 225Gb iTunes library!), so I created a Smart Playlist called "All Checked" that I can go to and read off the combined sizes of the checked files (File: New Smart Playlist, then check Match Only Checked Songs and Live Updating). Works great, Smart Playlists are very powerful.
I made another one called "All Unchecked" whose conditions are: Playlist is NOT "All Checked"!

  • How to convert ALAC to 256kbps for ipod when syncing?

I have a large library of apple ALAC files ripped from CD into itunes and I want to have an easy way of converting to a lessor quality version for syncing with the  ipod.  The problem i don't want duplicates and I want higher than 128 so the check box (convert to 128 on sync) will not be good enough.  I want around, say 256kbs for better quality on the ipod.  How do I do this without having to maintain two sets of files or libraries?  Is there any tool that can do this?
    Thanks
    Alan

The "sync-on-the-fly" option for iPod syncing currently only works at 128 kb/s.

  • Photo's on my iPod

Has anyone else run into this problem? Not all of the photo's within a photo album will transfer to my iPod. I cannot seem to figure out why.

Are you syncing these photos from iPhoto? Does any error come up in iTunes when you try to sync (saying that some couldn't be transferred because...)?
Also, do all of these photos show up and work properly in iPhoto? Are there any error messages in that application?
Finally, try simply deselecting that you want to transfer photos, then let the iPod sync, disconnect it, etc. Then reconnect it back up and turn on photo syncing again. See if that does the trick.

  • When I connect my iPod touch to my computer, I have a list of Events on my iTunes/iPod/Photos. I want to erase these Events. However, the photos are NOT on my MacBook Air. When I check one of the Events and then hit Apply, the photos appear on my iPod.

When I connect my iPod touch to my computer, I have a list of Events on my iTunes-iPod-Photos. I want to erase these Events. However, the photos are NOT on my MacBook Air-iPhoto. When I check one of the Events and then hit Apply, the photos appear on my iPod. And one last thing: When I connect the iPod and open iPhoto, iPhoto tries to load New Photos (I think), but nothing happens. Any ideas?

    Resolved.

  • Best sync setting for iPod

What is the best sync settings for iPod? I have it on manual now, if I select any other sync option, it asks if it's ok to delete everything on my iPod, then copy everything from my iTunes account on the computer. So if this happens every time, to copy one new album takes forever. Also, I noticed in the new iTunes, a playlist doesn't appear to copy over, just the songs, so then I have to go through all the procedures to make a new playlist on my iPod. Am I missing something?

    There is no "best way".
Personally, I create a few playlists and select to sync only those playlists (as opposed to the entire library, which won't fit anyway).
Then I simply add/delete from these playlists and sync to change what is on my iDevice.
I find it is much easier to manage with playlists because you don't have to scroll through a big list on the iPod to see what's on it.
Can create smart playlists to show what is NOT on the iPod.
