Scrolling Issues with Zoom

I recently got a new HP computer and installed photoshop CS4 onto it. The irritating thing about it is when im using alt+scroll wheel to zoom in and out as soon as i get close enough to the image that side scroll bars appear the alt+mousewheel will no longer work. It simply scrolls up and down and i need to grab the zoom tool in order to do anything else afterwards. Im pretty sure this is a conflict with my OS or something but has anyone else had this issue or know a way to resolve it? HP computer with vista 64 home. Any help is appreciated because its just irritating me.

I would look at all the extra software that HP puts on their computers. There have been a few posters on here who bought new computers that discovered some pre-loaded software was conflicting with CS4.

  • Scrolling Issue with Yoga 3 Pro

    Hi guys,
    Got myself a yoga 3 pro and i really like it! It has got a few issues though... The one currently frustrating me the most is shown in the following video:
    Scrolling Issue
    Google Chrome somehow doesn't work well on this laptop. As you can see the UI renders in funny angles, then sometimes even stays like that after scrolling. But this mostly just happens while scrolling and then when the scrolling is complete, it renders fine again, particularly on longer webpages and PDF's. Also the scrolling itself is very laggy and sometimes not responsive, although this might also be the touchpad not reacting that well - I have to say i had a macbook pro before this and that touchpad is unbeatable (the rest is **bleep** hehe).
    I couldnt reproduce the same issues on Internet Explorer (somehow no surprise, it being a windows thing and all). Firefox has laggy scrolling but almost no rendering issues of the same kind (when used heavily, it also happens though). When used heavily (high cpu usage) i even experienced this issue briefly in the windows explorer.
    Now I'm not just here to complain, as I said before the laptop is great in general, just hoping there is a solution or awareness regarding the scrolling issue.
    Thank you.
    Regards

    Haven't seen that on my Y3P, *but* I agree that the trackpad is just horrible compared with Mac trackpads, or even with the Logitech T650. As for Chrome, indeed it works OK with touch but not so great with the trackpad. In general, IE works better, looks nicer, and uses less power---but it's noticeably slower.

  • Scrolling issues with a PDF in Preview application

    I have a Macbook Pro Retina 15 Inch. When I view a pdf in the Preview app, the document stops scrolling after two pages. I saw in other forms to change my mouse settings to scrolling with inertia, however, that setting was already in place.

    It was driving me crazy too; this solved it for me:
    You can fix this by enabling "Always show scrollbar" under "General" in "System Preferences"
    I'm bumping this old thread as it is the top hit in Google when searching for this issue.

  • Vertical Scroll issue with Excel 2013

    okay before i start this is NOT!! a fixed pane issue. checked and double checked
    i have a user who when scroll's the main view does not scroll, until you lift of the mouse button.
    as you click on the scroll bar, you get the number up displaying what Line you are on as you
    scroll this changes, but the view does not.
    scrolling with scroll lock on, using keys, and using the mouse wheel all work fine, just the
    scroll bar has this issue.
    i cant seen to find any options within excel or windows.
    anyone on here have any suggestions?
    just to add, the user is able to log onto multiple machines and the issue follows this user,
    but when another user logs onto the same machine the problem does not occur on that user, so I think it is a profile specific issue, would like to sort this out without deleted the user's profile

    Hi Zikofski,
    According to your description, my understanding is that as shown in the following figure the screen tip with content “Row: 2” is missing when you’re dragging/clicking the scrollbar.
    I suggest you can try to reset your XLB file to help check if settings of excel have been changed.
    XLB is a setting file format created by Microsoft Excel. XLB files contain custom settings for the toolbars (or command bars). These settings can be edited or customized by selecting “toolbar” from the view options. XLB files can contain information such
    as which toolbars are visible, their position, and their function. XLB files allow for the transfer of customization information between computers and users.
    Trying the following steps to reset you custom in excel:
    Go to the path in your own computer as shown in the following figure:
    Rename the *.xlb to *.xlb.old (Note: If you delete or rename *.xlb file, the settings of custom toolbars will lost.)
    Restart Excel and it will create a new *.xlb file
    Then, please check whether it is helpful.
    If my understanding is incorrect, please let me know. If possible could you take a screenshot and upload it, and could you be at bit more precise explain your problem so that we can get more accurate solutions to this problem. I am glad to help and forward
    to your reply.
    Regards,

  • Issue with zoom

    I need help with this issue I am having with my layout. If you were to go to my site and either zoom in or decrease the size of the browser window, two undesirable things will happen.
    1. The content part of my page will cover the navigation buttons
    2. The right side of the header will misalign itself with the content section.
    I can't seem to fix this problem. My site is http://abstracthealth.com

  • Anyone had scrolling issues with standard MacPro mouse?

    my mouse no longer scrolls down. i either drag the bar down, or use key. once down, i can use scroll-ball on mouse to scroll back up, the only direction that is functional. at one time, only an intermittent issue, but degraded to becoming unusable. any suggestions?

    The 4 no microscopic magnetic rollers below the ball are covered in fluff and finger oils.
    Even using the recommended cleaning method eventually fails to loosen the fluff because the ONLY way out of the mouse for this build up is by collecting back on the ball then out onto the paper.
    Below the ball is a microswitch unit so the debris can not fall into the body space of the mouse.
    Finally the bottom of the mouse has been glued shut preventing easy general maintenance.
    If you are adventurous you can carry out some surgery to repair the mouse.
    You need a scalpel, some super glue, a very small cross bladed screw driver, and a pair tweezers
    Right turn the mouse up side down , with the scalpel carefully separate the OUTER grey bezel ring from the mouse top and set aside.
    Now press the two side buttons and with your thumb press the front of the top mouse body away from you .
    It should click free.
    It still may be held by two hinge posts about 25mm/1" from the rear of the mouse so use the screw driver to leverage these free with a snap.
    'The body will now be separated however you will now find that the two parts are connected by two ribbon cables.
    These are just pressure fitted to the logic board but being careful you shouldn't dislodge them.
    So twist the bottom plate through ninety degrees and you will see the microswitch held by three cross head screws.
    Unscrew these and set aside.
    Now you can finally clean those little magnets using the tweezers.
    Now reassemble in reverse and finally using the super glue reattach the bezel.
    Allow time to dry and finally plug in USB/Repair if bluetooth and test run what should now be a functioning mouse.

  • Issue with Zoom- Formula option in Excel add in

    Hi All,
    In spreadsheet add in when I enable the option, Essbase->Options->Zoom->Formulas and then do a retrieve operation for a level 0 member having a formula in the outline, it returns the members that are included in the formula. The above works fine for a BSO application.
    But when I do the same operation on a level 0 member of an ASO application that has a formula associated to it does not retrieve the members of the formula.
    Can anyone help me on the above.
    Thanks,
    Raja

    I'm guessing that the zoom in on formula does not understand MDX. IT works for the BSO cube on simple calculations because it can understand calc script language and figure out the member names. When it gets to complex formulas in BSO it can't do it any more. MDX is a different animal for Essbase and I'll bet they never thought about modifying the add-in for ASO. As far as I know there were no special modifications to the add-in for ASO

  • Zoom Issues with JScrollPane

    Hello all,
    I have ran into an issue with zoom functionality on a JScrollPane.
    Here is the situation (code to follow):
    I have a JFrame with a JDesktopPane as the contentpane. Then I have a JScrollPane with a JPanel inside. On this JPanel are three rectangles. When they are clicked on, they will open up a JInternalFrame with their name (rect1, rect2, or rect3) as the title bar. Rect3 is positioned (2000,2000).
    I have attached a mousewheel listener to the JPanel so I can zoom in and out.
    I have also attached a mouse listener so I can detect the mouse clicks for the rectangles. I also do a transformation on the point so I can be use it during clicks while the panel is zoomed.
    All of this works fantastic. The only issue I am having is that when the JScrollPane scroll bars change, I cannot select any of the rectangles.
    I will give a step by step reproduction to be used with the code:
    1.) Upon loading you will see two rectangles. Click the far right one. You'll see a window appear. Good. Move it to the far right side.
    2.) Zoom in with your mouse wheel (push it towards you) until you cannot zoom anymore (May have to get focus back on the panel). You should see three rectangles. Click on the newly shown rectangle. Another window, titled rect3 should appear. Close both windows.
    3.) This is where things get alittle tricky. Sometimes it works as intended, other times it doesn't. But do something to this affect: Scroll to the right so that only the third rectangle is showing. Try to click on it. If a window does not appear - that is the problem. But if a window does appear, close it out and try to click on the 3rd rect again. Most times, it will not display another window for me. I have to zoom out one step and back in. Then the window will appear.
    After playing around with it for awhile, I first thought it may be a focus issue...I've put some code in the internal window listeners so the JPanel/JScrollPane can grab the focus upon window closing, but it still does not work. So, either the AffineTransform and/or point conversion could be the problem with the scroll bars? It only happens when the scroll bar has been moved. What affect would this have on the AffineTransform and/or point conversion?
    Any help would be great.

                   this.myScrollPane = myScrollPane;
         }

    What I'm noticing is your zoomedAffineTransform is changing when you click to close the internal frame. This ends up being passed down the line, thus mucking up your clicks until you do something to reset it (like zoom in and out).
    Clicking on the JInternalFrame appears to add a translate to the g2d transform. This translation is what's throwing everything off. So in the paintComponent where you set the zoomedAffineTransform, you can verify if the transform has a translation before storing the reference:
             if (g2d.getTransform().getTranslateX() == 0.0) {
                zoomedAffineTransform = g2d.getTransform();

  • Mx.controls.Text zoom issue with wrapped text. Is this a bug?

    We have created a diagram drawing tool in Flex, but we are having a serious issue with zooming. Everything zoom fine expect the Text control if it contains wrapped text. At certain zoom levels, some of the text seems to disappear (usually text at the end). I have tried everything, embedding fonts, turning anti-aliasing on and off, setting anti-aliasing to normal or advanced, but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Is this is a known bug?
    If you check out the pictures (see attachments), you will see that the part of the text ('34') disappears at a certain zoom level.
    There is another blog who suggest to embed the font and set the antiAliasType to ‘animation’ (http://www.mehtanirav.com/2008/08/20/zooming-text-area-in-flex-messes-up-word-wrap-bug%20), but this doesn't seem to work for me either. I don't know if I am doing this correctly though, but I embedded a font and called text.setStyle("fontAntiAliasType","animation"). However, 'animation' is not one of the  AntiAliasType contants. According to the official documentation, the AntiAliasType constants are 'advanced' or 'normal'.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Try this:
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.text.*;
    class textpaneColor extends JFrame {
       JTextPane tp = new JTextPane();

          textpaneColor obj = new textpaneColor();
          obj.showMe();
       void showMe() {
          button.addActionListener(new buttonListener());
          setSize(200,200);
          getContentPane().setLayout(new BorderLayout());
          getContentPane().add(tp, BorderLayout.CENTER);
          getContentPane().add(button, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
          setVisible(true);
       class buttonListener implements ActionListener {
          public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
             SimpleAttributeSet set=new SimpleAttributeSet();
             StyleConstants.setForeground(set,Color.BLUE);
             StyledDocument doc=tp.getStyledDocument();
             doc.setParagraphAttributes(0,999999,set,true);
    };o)

    I got the textLayout.swc from the 4.0.0.8217 gumbo build.  I did look at the release notes http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/changes4.0.0.8217.  Only saw something about nullTabStopFormat  and defaults possibly the change was made in another nightly build or i just missed it.  Is there a better place to look for changes?
    Thanks for the heads up about the API changes.  Overall i think things have been going pretty smooth considering ive been working off weekly builds for the past 8 or 9 weeks.  You guys have also been very receptive on the forum.  Ill be ready for the API changes Monday when I update to the next weekly build.

    Hello,
    I have a public website in SharePoint Office 365.

    My question is: are there rendering and scrolling issues with IOS devices with SharePoint.

    The most common problem you will find using SharePoint 2010 in Google Chrome is the missing scrollbar. This issue can be easily solved by replacing 1 line of code. Yes,
    ONE line.
    Step 1
    In the Master page, look for this:
    <body scroll=”no” onload=”javascript:_spBodyOnLoadWrapper();”>
    and replace with this:
    <body scroll=”no”>
    <script type=”text/javascript”>$(document).ready(function()
    {if (typeof(_spBodyOnLoadWrapper) != ‘undefined’) {_spBodyOnLoadWrapper();} });</script>
    Step 2
    THAT’S IT. Hopefully the scrollbar should appear
    in Google Chrome.
    You can find dozens of other solutions online, but I found that this one is easy to integrate, and doesn’t cause any other known issues.

    Hi, i am having an issue with a basic motion scroll effect.
    I already watched and read every tutorial out there regarding this topic and even tried the adobe chat support, but the guy on the other end of the line disconnected me…, probably he didn't understand what i wanted from him because english is not my native language, so a will try to be very, very clear about this one..
    please note, that i am new to muse, this is my first project ever.
    my idea is as following:
    when the customer comes to our companies site, he just sees our logo on a white Background. the logo consists of, say, four elements. when the customer scrolls down, the logo starts to disassamble: first the first part of the logo flies out the left side of the site, then the second part of the logo vanishes down, then the third part of the logo flies to the right, then the fourth part of the logo flies to the top and out of the customers view. given what i have seen, it is possible to do that….
    so…..
    now i have the four parts of my logo imported as png files into muse and assembled them in design view to build our companies logo. I select every one of the four parts and go into the scroll effects tab left beside the layers tab. first i enter the same values for every one of the four parts: initial motion: 0x and 0x again for the left and right motion; key position ( t-handle) : 0px; final motion: 0x and 0x again for the left and right value.
    now i hit "preview".: the logo is "pinned" at the correct position, i can scroll but the logo stays where it is. so far so good….
    now i select all the four elements again and go to the scroll effecs tab. at "final motion", i click the down arrows and enter 1x. I hit Preview…
    when i am scrolling down the WHOLE logo goes down…. so far so good.
    NOW i want the first part of the logo to go down, THEN the second part to go left, THEN the third part to go up, THEN the fourth part to go right.
    so i select ONLY the first part, go to the scroll motion tab, at "final motion" i click the left arrows, then i enter 1x.( the up-down value, i set to 0 again).. i hit Preview…
    the first part of the logo goes left as soon as i start scrolling, the other three parts still go down at the same time…
    NOW i want the second part of the logo to start moving, when the first part has left the scene, not at the same time as the first part.
    SO I SELECT THE SECOND PART AND DRAG ITS T-HANDLE (KEY POSITION) DOWN TO, LETS SAY, 200PX. SO IT STARTS MOVING ONLY AFTER THE CUSTOMER HAS REACHED THAT POINT, RIGHT?
    BUT WHEN I PREVIEW THAT ****, THE LOGO IS NOT TOGETHER ANYMORE, THE SECOND PART IS FLOATING ANYWHERE ELSE BUT WHERE IT SHOULD BE…..WTFF????
    short: when i move the t handle, the initial position of the object changes. thats what i said to the adobe employee, but he said, that thats the expected behavior….
    but if thats so, how can i have my four parts correctly together, so they form my logo, but with different t handles, so that they all start to move at different times??
    Pleeease help me, i am dying of frustration here…..:( that behavior cant be right, right?
    Thanks so much to everyone who actually reads this post and tries to help…….
    All the best,
    Niki Lapan

    Thank you so much for helping,
    But i really wonder how you did that. did you always switch between design view and preview view, then change the key position for 2px then switch back, to align the four letters? because i imagine that can get really frustrating, if you have a logo consisting of 58 parts instead of 4!:)
    Anyway thank you very much for your time and effort!!!!

    I don't know if this is the right section but I experience the following issue with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI installed on Windows 8.1. When I start Acrobat the related window opens normally but, after some scroll up and down along the document, it blocks, Acrobat doesn't respond to any command I can give and, in place of the pointer arrow, a vertical bar, as the one of the text editor appears. The only way I can stop Acrobat is by means of the task manager. I tried to de-install and the re- install Acrobat but the behaviour is always the same. What can I do??

    Have you opened Acrobat and gone to Help>Updates to get an updated install?
