Scrolling lightbox thumbnails

Is it possible to create scrolling lightbox thumbnails that bleed off the left and right edges of a web page with Adobe Muse? The effect I'd like to recreate is something like here http://www.panpeninsula.com/world-capital.html

Ok I hope someone can or would help me with a actionscript3.0 dilemma. I found this great tutorial on how to create a scrolling picture thumbnail in Flash. I am currently using Flash CS4 and i am using actionscript3.0. The script below is what the tutorials says I should use

I would like to control the image bar with the mouse x,y coordinates. I also noticed that the _root is no longer used with actionscript is this a correct assumption? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Yes, _root is no longer supported, and in many cases it is an overused crutch. You may be able to just ignore including its AS3 counterpart. In AS3, all events are dealt with using event listener/handler function pairs. So for the case of the onEnterFrame code, you would need to have an event listener/handler pair...

As for the rest of your code, the only thing that stands out immediately is the use of _xmouse and _ymouse. In AS3, that would be mouseX and mouseY.
So see what you can finagle with this information and try to figure out why it doesn't work if it doesn't.

Scroll Bar Thumbnails gone

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Extended.
In Pro 8 I was able to view each page as a thumbnail as I scrolled using the scroll bar button. The thumbnail would appear immediately beside the scroll button on the right of the screen.
I can't seem to get Acrobat Pro 9 to do this.
Is there a setting that has to be set to get this to work?

Very slow scrolling window thumbnails clips

Very slow scrolling windows with thumbnail clips. The more files in the event, the worse it gets. It is very frustrating. Is in others it is the same? I have MacOookPro i7 early 2011, thunderbolt drives RAID0, 16GB memory, FCPX 10.0.7. After the hardware is decent.

P.S. I might add that this disadvantage are found from version 10.0.0.

You might want to look at either booting from your install dvd (insert, restart and hold 'C' down) and running disk repair from Utilities. Alternatively, and I always suggest any Mac user should have at least one, a 3rd party disk utility like DiskWarrior (there are others) is extremely useful.

Lightbox thumbnail rollover yellow tabs

Lightbox is working except that when I roll over a thumbnail, I get little yellow tabs on either side at the bottom. I don't understand what they are for, or whether they are supposed to be there. I can't find them in the code. Can anyone tell me about them?

Lightbox thumbnail moving on export.

Hey Guys,
Please forgive me if this has already been asked. But I have not been able to find the answer to my problem.
I have a page that is using a static background image used by the browser fill option set to original.
I am then creating a widget using lightbox and dragging the thumbnail over a portion of the image (which is a map) . When I preview the site or export the site to a html the thumbnail moves to another location on the page. I'm not exactly sure why its doing that. Is there anyway I could position the thumbnail using a absolute property? Or could I anchor the thumbnail to not move around?

Working on this further - I found that when I reduce the size of the site after its been exported to a html the thumbnail for the lightbox does not move with the site.

I made a photoshop button that I'd like to have trigger a movie in a lightbox, but it's not showing rollover state. Is this use for photoshop button possible?

Lightbox thumbnail background image states

I have 5 lightboxes on the page listed above. The expected behavior would be that the roll over state would drop the opacity by 20%. What's happening is on three of the lightboxes is a different image is being displayed. I've double and triple checked the states in each lightbox and republished, refreshed the browser, but to no avail.
Thoughts?

In other words is it possible to build a slideshow where, for instance, maybe 30 thumbnails are used but only 5 or so are visible in a horizontal row under the main ("hero" image) and when an arrow is clicked the thumbnails advance horizontally to the left bringing up the new group of thumbnails that were, "hidden" on the original horizontal row? This allows the site to contain many more thumbnails than can "fit" on the page and at the same time not cause the extra thumbnails to be made to be stacked vertically all on the same page seen all at once?

I have spent all night and hours and hours researching Muse in the forums, videos, tutorials web-wide and have not been able to find a way to achieve this kind of slideshow. You can try using compositions and then slideshow within composition.
In composition target container insert the slideshow and as set of slides create different slideshows for separate composition containers.
It would similar effect.

Mouse no longer scrolls photos in 2 view modes

In A2, if I hovered the mouse over the strip and used the wheel (Revolution MX) it would scroll the thumbnails. If I hovered it over the selected, large photo I could scroll through one-by-one. Same in Viewer mode-scrolling up or down went to the next or previous photo. Now it only works in Browser mode or in the strip in Split View. This has ruined my whole workflow of rating with my left hand while scrolling with the mouse in the right.
I've checked the settings I know, such as Primary on or off, with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it looks like scrolling has been changed as you describe.
Dont forget that the arrows and numeric pad (if you have a full size keyboard) work very well. I find rating to be a one handed job using a thumb on the right arrow and a finger for the rating value. Its fast after a bit of practice.

Lightbox widget not displaying correctly in phone or tablet versions

I've created a portfolio pagen using the lightbox/thumbnails for the desktop version which works as it should. But when I recreate the same widget in the tablet or phone versions, the pop-up/lightbox effect appears behind the thumbnails and is persistent. How do I get this to display like the ordinary lightbox in the desktop version?

Could you please do a File>Preview site in Browser and check if it works fine there?
Also, please do a File>Export as HTML and export your website files in a local folder. Check if the local copy works fine or not.
If not, please send your .muse file to us at [email protected] If your file is greater than 20mb you can use something like Adobe SendNow or SendThisFile.

Why is Lightroom 2.4 Thumbnail Rendering SLOOOOOOOOW...?

For some reason Lightroom 2.4 is taking an enormous amount of time to render thumbnail previews and in spite of having my thumbnail cache set to 50 GB, it still re-renders the thumbnails every single time I use the scroll bar.
Every other aspect of Lightroom performs just fine on my machine. But the library is so slow that it is unusable. Every time I touch the scroll bar I can see a somewhat darker preview of the thumbnails and then as soon as I stop scrolling, the CPU shoots up to 100% utilization and I watch as the thumbnails brighten and adjust one by one. 30 to 45 seconds later I can click on the thumbnails and navigate around just fine. Performance is great in fact until I touch the scroll bar again.
The basic question is this. Why does Lightroom refuse to cache my thumbnails? And why does it take soooo long to render them when Vista's explorer can render hundreds of thumbnails off even a flash card in seconds? Even if thumbnail rendering was slow it would be fine if Lightroom would only cache them for me so it doesn't have to redo it every time I scroll back and forth. Shouldn't there be an option to render thumbnails on import as well as 1:1 previews?
I am running Vista 64 bit with 4GB of RAM with a Gforce 7600GT graphics card. My library has about 18,000 images in it. But I've also tried with a brand new small catalog. I'm shooting and processing Nikon D300 RAW files.
I've done all the standard performance tweaks that everyone talks about:
1. I render 1:1 previews and never expire them.
2. I have tried all the various nvidia card tweaks.
3. I've updated to the latest and greatest nvidia drivers.
4. I have my catalog on a separate drive from my images, and my thumbnail cache on yet a 3rd drive.
5. My machine has plenty of RAM, and in fact Lightroom is only using 1.5GB leaving me with well over 1GB remaining.
6. My machine is not swapping at all.
I've been reading and reading for the past 24 hours about this issue but have yet to come up with an answer to it. Does anyone have ANY idea what can be causing this? As is, I can't use Lightroom under these conditions.

So I spent all evening experimenting with different things in Lightroom to try and improve performance and found 1 solution that worked. Although I'm not sure why.
I understand that a design decision was made to render thumbs on the fly. Fine. But what I couldn't understand was why it took so incredibly long. I mean the process was literally locking up my entire machine every time I touched the scroll bar.
The ONLY thing I could get to clear up the problem was to select the top level folder in my catalog, and export the entire catalog as a new catalog. For export I did NOT choose to export the image files or the previews since I only wanted to keep my database (image adjustments, keywords, etc).
Upon opening this newly created catalog, of course everything was slow because there are no previews for anything. Fine. So I chose to render standard sized previews for a couple of the folders in the catalog (about 150 photos each). And then lightroom became extremely fast for browsing and scrolling through thumbnails on those particular folders.
What I can't undertand is why rendering standard sized previews on my old catalog (same photos, same folder) does not improve performance, yet doing it for the new catalog which should be an exact copy DOES improve performance.
The only thing I can think of is that my original catalog must have either been corrupt or there may be some upper limit on how many previews Lightroom can handle gracefully? Since I had standard previews for my entire catalog before.
I'm going to try and render standard sized previews on my entire new catalog tonight and see if the performance remains snappy. But something is definitely not right here.

Thumbnail images slow to develop

I'm using a new 24" iMac with 4 gig RAM. I'm working to import photos into Lightroom version 1.4.1, deleting photos as I go. Typically, the folders I'm importing into the Library contain 10-60 photos.
For some reason, as I scroll through thumbnails, it sometimes takes as long as 15 seconds (or more) for the thumbnails to clearly appear. Is there any way to speed up this process? The only other program I have open is Safari.

This seems to be an issue that affects a lot of people. rebuilding the standard and 1:1 previews doesn't seem to make it much better.

Horizontal scrolling use MOUSE_MOVE event problem

Hi, I have a a thumbnail scroller that scrolls images horizontally and inverted when I move the mouse.
It works fine on its own, and is giving me the results I want, but whenever I put it in my project, it won't scroll properly.
Like, the scrolling is the same, but it doesnt just scroll the thumbnails anymore, it scrolls everything. The background image, page title, etc.
I'm sure I did something wrong, because I think this his been implented before with no problems, any ideas?
P.S When I put the scroller on the main timeline, this problem doesn't happen. It only occurs when I put it within a movieclip.
In the main timeline i have a movieclip named mainContainer.
In the main Container movieclip, frame 1, this the code.

It moves the panelContainer just fine, but it also moves images and text from the main timeline as well.
