Scrolling Problems in PS CS5

In CS4 I could press shift while using the scroll wheel to vertical scroll at a larger interval than normal. I could also press command to switch to horizontal scrolling and add a shift press for a larger interval scroll.
In CS5 (12.01) when I press shift it switches to horizontal scrolling. I can't get it to scroll at the larger interval in any direction. When I go back to CS4 it works like it should.
I'm using a Microsoft mouse, but it doesn't matter what mouse I use, the problem is still there.

Yeah it's definitely a problem for me in 12.01. I much prefer the original behavior as it also worked on Layers palette window, etc. The only way you can get that back partially now is to enable Zoom with Scroll Wheel.
Seems odd that Adobe would change a major key function in .0x update without warning.
Wondering if this occurred in Windows version too?

Problem with Photoshop CS5. Memory and Harddisk spaces

Just got CS5 Master Suite. Whenever I open photoshop it takes a ton of memory 1 gig +. When I open files it takes up more and more until it takes up all my memory and hard disk space. I open a simple multi layered file that is 25 megs in size to work on it. Before I know it photoshop is taking 20gigs+ of my hard disk space along with 3+ gigs of system memory. Is there a memory problem in photoshop cs5?

So I just opened the 25 meg file in photoshop cs5 and watched my free space on my hard drive go down 8 gigs the instant I opened it. It went from 27 gigs of freespace to 19 instantly.
I am running a Macbook Pro with OSX 10.6., 4 gigs of ram on board.
anyone else having simular problems?

UPDATE:

Only way to correct it is to quit photoshop cs5 and wait a few minutes for the space to return... and it takes a few minutes for it all to return.

Problem with ID CS5 to epub

I have the following problem with Indesign CS5.
After placing correctly my pdf doc into ID CS5 and exporting it for epub, the exported epub file is generated with only small size. I mean when i opened the epub file with Adobe digital edition, i can not maximums the size of the doc. I think the problem is that ID CS5 is added a page number for only the first page in the right bottom of the first page only. This will makes the doc to be displayed with maximum only by adding an extra blank page to the right of each generated page which contains only a page number, so that I can not change the display size in Adobe digital edition. However, Adobe digital edition is working well for other e-books.
How can I remove the page number on the first page and make the epub file to be displayed with normal size.

I am getting really ****** here. For 2 months this problem has been bugging me. It seems to randomly appear and disappear.

I basically tried everything.
1.Reinstalled Windows from scratch twice!
2 Reinstalled Itunes a couple of times - clean install - tried different versions. Yea, got the latest one now.
3. Tried different VGA drivers. Got the latest Intel driver installed.
The problem has been gone for a couple of weeks now ever since I uninstalled a Windows update called U2711 Dell Display driver (The U2711 is my current LCD). That was just a 80KB file that messed Itunes up.
Well, I believed I found the problem (hail system restore) but nope. Today it started happening again. I even have Windows Update deactivated for that reason so no changes have been made to the system in the last couple of days! It worked fine yesterday.
So again: Same scrolling problem. And it only happens on my second large 27" screen. On the notebook screen it works just fine.
Guys, I really need help. I'm about to curse Apple and Microsoft at the same time.

Since I am that furstated I started trying really unorthodox methods to resolve the problem.
I just started Itunes in compatibilty mode (Windows XP SP3) and for now it seems to be working without that annoying bug!
Anybody know what that means?!

Persistent Scrolling Problem

I have a two-finger scrolling problem with my 5- day- old Macbook (10.5, Firefox latest version). It was suggested in this forum that I turn off Horizontal scrolling. I did that, in fact I think I tried every combination of settings on the
Keyboard & Mouse page, but the scrolling is still erratic. It jumps and stalls and
then (occasionally) works. This happens on line or in documents. I wish I could determine if this is a software or a hardware problem. If it is hardware I need to return this unit real quick. I've been everywhere on the net looking for a software fix or update, but all I have found are add ons that will probably lead to more problems. I don't want to go through the aggravation of a return if I can help it.

ok, dude, dont treat my reply as answer, but im just suggesting..why dun u plug in a normal mouse for gaming anyway?
1)clicking a lot kills the batteries, and also wear out the clicking mechanism.
2)the scrolling is too sensitive on windows (my exp.) and it switches the weapon unexpectedly all the time (left 4 dead 2)
3)as u said, its windows! mac hates PC, just think about it, they intentionally hold up the start up time for windows on boot camp, so what quality do u expect with all the mac hardware on WINDOWS??
I personally plug in a different set of keyboard and mouse to play games on bootcamp, cos the keys are still confusing for me, and USB HIDs dont need batteries, be green!

T43 Vertical Scrolling Problem (not just Firefox)- Any official response from Lenovo

After searching the forum, i have not been able to find any response from Lenovo as to how to correct this problem.
Incidentally, my "occasional" vertical scrolling problem occurs in any browser, IE7, Firefox3, Opera9 (at least those 3) as well as Windows applications with a vertical scroll bar like Windows Explorer.
This only started to occur very randomly around 6 months ago. But as of late it is occuring more often.

might indicate that it is a possible hardware problem.
However, I have to say that I rarely use the laptop scrolling buttons and 99.9% of the time, latetly, I use a Logitech laser USB mouse for scrolling purposes.
As another possible work-around (if you are using an external mouse) is to uncheck the enable virtual scrolling in the touchpad properties window.
I certainly hope it is not a hardware problem, as the warranty on my T43 ran out a long time ago.
btw, I am running Windows XP Pro XP3.

How do you fix a scrolling problem on Apple TV?

When I click the remote once, it scrolls to end of row or column. I've restarted via remote, unplugged (restarted), restored to factory default = still have scrolling problem. Tried 2 different remotes, same problem with each. Tried unparring then reparring = no joy.

First thing I would suggest is to upgrade your server OS to a newer version if possible. Secondly try removing the apps out of the allowable apps list and instead change it so that you allow the apps that are within the specific application folder, ex: Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5
I had similar problems with CS5 apps and by adding the apps by allowable folder instead it corrected my problem. Granted, if you have savvy users, there is the potential to open a can of worms here but it was the only way I could get it to work for "standard" non-admin user types.

Problem installing illustrator cs5 trial

I have downloaded the trial cs5 but when i try to install it i get the following error message. I use vista.

Problem solved - SIMPLE and QUICK solution
I too had similar problems installing Illustrator CS5. It just wouldn't complete the installation. Everything else in the CS5 collection installed fine. I looked around on the internet. Assuming that most people's installation problems originate from the same cause—registry errors, then scanning the registry for errors and correcting them first before rerunning the install should solve the problem. Which is exactly what I did and it worked like a charm.
Once you figure out what the problem is, how to fix it and get the right tools, the rest is easy. This is what I did. It took only a matter of minutes:
I use CCleaner (stands for Crap Cleaner, it's top-notch freeware I've been using for years, I can't recommend it highly enough!) to run a registry scan first. Sure enough, it identified at least one error with Illustrator. I scanned and fixed the errors in a couple of mouse clicks, took seconds.
I then run the CS5 installer again for Illustrator. Miraculously, it installed without a hitch!

Problems with the CS5.5 Design Premium Suite on OSX Lion?

Hi, did anybody had already problems with the CS5.5 Design Premium Suite on OSX Lion? I purchased the software as a Volume licenced product recently and everything was working fine, until since few days my Indesign and Illustrator keep crashing on launch. I de-installed and re-installed the entire CS5 Suite on my iMac, but Indesign and Illustrator still keep on crashing while launching. I already rang the Adobe tech support but they are not very helpful at all... Its quite frustrating.

No problems here with CS5. After I upgraded to Lion I did update to 5.5 and still did not experience any problems. There are some handy articlles on Adobe's web site relating to compatability with Lion, but I have experienced none. Have you checked the third party plug-ins in Illustrator and InDesign for compatability if you have any installed?

It is not grouped, deleted preferences, usually work in rgb/ 8 bit channel - have same problem with all new projects.

Problem with layers is when I use the crop tool in a layer out of 20, all of them get croped at once including a locked backgound layer.
When I use smart object in a layer to size down image with transform tool, guess what happens to all the layers in project? all behave odd, changes same as the layer being sized down. If I work images or layers in separate files, once I bring them over to my workspace, all get affected without maintaining their own individuality. This happens with every new project. I think colors are not affecting layers. Layers are not grouped, I do not know anything about linking layers. This problem is stopping me from using photoshop. Please help!!!
I had previously a problem with a photoshop bug (GPU sniffer), which I was able to resolve it with reintalling the graphics video card with the help of HP technical support, I am able now to work with repousse however with same video card.
Let me know if you need me to give you more details.
