Scrolling through Camera roll is not smooth after iOS 5 update

Hi,
I have a little problem with my iPod touch 4th gen after the iOS 5 update - the scroll through Camera roll is not running smoothly.
When scrolling to earlier photos, it gets stuck for a second and then scrolls again, gets stuck and then scrolls.
It can get quite irritating when trying to view earlier photos....
I'd appreciate any help.

Well, at least those features work fine with mine.... I hope the bugs will be fixed soon!

Scrolling through Camera Roll is Jumpy

The title says it all really. When scrolling through the photos in Camera Roll, it is not a smooth scroll. It jumps and stutters. However, when I am in any other folder of photos, the scrolling is as smooth as glass. This only happens in the Camera Roll folder.
I have tried the following to solve the issue:
1. Hold the home button until it shuts the app down.
2. Hold the home and power button until the phone resets.
3. Turn the phone off over night.
Does anyone have a fix for this, because it hasn't always done this. Thanks in advance.

One thing that might help.
If you have done a reset with the home and power button, you might want to try a restore.
If the issue is a software problem, the restore will fix it.

i see a lot of denial on this site when it comes to viruses, the same applies to apple updates messing up folks devices. Take it back to an apple store and it is likely the best you can hope for is a discount on a new ipad. Good luck. Hopefully someone here can help you with a fix.

Iphone 4s not working after ios update 6.1.3

I have an iphone 4s boxed, brandnew and unopened for a year not until March 2013, for a couple of days i have used it, worked excellent but after i have unlocked it through at&t and updated it to IOS 6.1.3 it went to re-activation mode again. Tried several times to activate it but no succeess. I went to an apple store to discuss the problem of the update and consequently the result it brought to my iphone4s but denied a replacement because it was passed the warranty period. I was offered a replacement (for a fee) of $200 but i refused since i believe i havent enjoyed the iphone for years, has not even dropped, water-damaged nor scratched. The manager on duty (Mary, Fairview Mall, Ontario) insisted that my iphone 4s has a growing software problem already and i just dont know of... I reiterated to her that the unit was working as brandnew just like many of my apple products i have. I havent called the apple support telephone support though. What should i do now? Please help guys. I cannot take it paying another $200 for an iphone that was practically brandnew and went useless after the update. I have a record of the at&t authorized unlocking request. Should i escalate the appeal to where? Please help.. Thanks a lot guys.

The fact that you chose to leave the device in the box for a year (a rather unintelligent decision) has no bearing on the warranty. Warranty starts from the date of the original purchase.
You can try basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide which is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).

Ipad mini will not restore after ios update 7.1.2

I recieved a message last night about the update 7.1.2 for my ipad mini. I left my ipad on overnight while plugged in while it was updating. i woke up this morning seeing my ipad must be connected to itunes. I connect my ipad to itunes and it must be restored. Every time i try to restore and update the ipad from itunes i get the error code 3004. I have tried hard resetting the ipad, re-downloading the latest version of itunes, and disconnecting and reconnected the usb plug.

Here are the steps that I would recommend going through when experiencing error 3004.
Resolve network errors
Related errors: 17, 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194, 3000, 3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3015, 3194, 3200, or "There was a problem downloading the software," or say the "device isn't eligible for the requested build.". These alerts mean that your computer is either having difficulty contacting the Apple update server or communicating with your device.
Check your computer for software or settings that might cause communication issues between your computer and Apple or between your computer and your device.

IPhone5 rear-facing camera and flashlight not working after iOs 7.0.3 update

This is my first time posting here so do forgive me if I leave anything out.
Problem 1
I updated my iPhone 5 to iOs 7.0.3 (on 10/22 when it released). Since then, my rear-facing camera has stopped working. When I open up the camera, it's just a black screen and I cannot take a picture or video, but the other elements on the screen are still functional: changing flash from auto/on/off, turning HDR on/off, switching from video/photo/square/pano, but still the screen remains black. When I switch to the front-facing camera though, it works fine. I can take pictures and video through that view.
Problem 2
The second problem that's happened as well is the flashlight in the control center is greyed out, can't click it at all.
Attempt to Fix
I brought my iPhone 5 to a Genius Bar. Guy took it to the back to open it up and check if there were any physical problems with the phone and camera. He came back, found nothing. Unfortunately my phone was no longer under the one-year warranty, so in order to fully replace the phone with a new or refurbished one, I would've had to dish out $200 something and I wasn't trying to do that just yet. So we decided to just wipe it clean and restore. After we did that, everything was working, the rear-facing camera, the flashlight, things were perfect. I left the Apple store, got on the train to head home. I opened up the camera to take a picture and long behold, it stopped working again. I got home and did the exact same thing the guy did, wiped my phone and restored. Everything was working again. I held my breath though... 1/2 hour later, same problems with the rear-facing camera and flashlight came back.
Just as a note, not sure if it helps, when I use third-party camera apps/photo editors, when I try to use the camera within those apps, it freezes and closes.
I don't know what else to do. It seems the only fix is restoring my phone and having the camera and flashlight work for a few minutes only to go back to the same problems. The Genius Bar didn't help. I'm not trying to give up $200 something when this is something that happened clearly because of the iOs 7.0.3 update. It was working perfectly fine before that.

WORKAROUND FOUND ! Download and install "Awesome Camera" app and take a picture with that app. After 1-2 seconds of standby, it will work. Then you can go back to default Camera app which would work again.Please let me know

IPhone 4S Camera Roll picture naming – reset after firmware update

Since I updated my iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.3, it reset the counter on my picture names, starting again on IMG_0001.JPG, so not only I lost the sequence on my pictures but am also having a really hard time importing pictures to the same folder on my computer, since I have a lot of pictures with the same names...is anyone else having this problem? Also, could this be happening because my last picture before it reset was IMG_9999.JPG?

Since I recently updated my iPhone 5s to ios 8.0.2 i am having a problem where it will not ring when I get incoming calls. what can be done to fix this issue?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I know it must be frustrating when you iPhone will not ring when you have an incoming call. The first thing I would suggest as far as troubleshooting would be to check the ring/vibrate switch on the side of your iPhone, just above the volume buttons, to make sure the ringer isn’t silenced. If the ringer is not silenced, continue to read over the information in the attached article to troubleshoot your iPhone sound.

Caller ID not working after IOS update, any ideas?

I've played with java preference settings and it makes no difference.
Have you checked the brower preferences to make sure the plug-in is enabled? It appears maybe you have.

A response I put together from another post. Also going into iTunes and choosing to sync phone to iCloud then back "this computer" sometimes works.
First thing.. Stop where you are. Don't try to sync, update, hard reset, iCloud... Just stop.
Check on your phone under 'SETTINGS' 'GENERAL' USAGE'. It should show some value for PHOTOSTREAM. Also, connect to iTunes and you will notice at the bottom of your phones summary page that there is a large amount of 'OTHER' data.
I used third party software called iExplorer (formerly iPhone explorer). In this program you select 'MEDIA FOLDER', then 'DCIM'. In the various apple folders (IE: 101APPLE) you should be able to preview your photos and copy them to your desktop.
From there sync them back to your device through iTunes or whatever method you use.
There is a simpler solution I'm sure, which may involve using iExplorer to delete some .plist files then restart the phone and let it rebuild. I'm going to try it myself AFTER I've finished copying all the photos to my MAC

RESOLVED!!! I logged on to my Straight Talk online account, and did a Tech Chat. They immediately gave me a direct phone number and a Reference PIN number and asked me to contact their iPhone specialty support. I called (of course the gentleman's accent was very difficult for me to understand, but managed with asking continually for clarity). He walked me through several tests, setting changes and had me get on my wifi to obtain the latest APN settings. None of his efforts worked ad it was obviously NOT my Straight Talk iPhone 5, 64GB CDMA (no SIM) - it was something with their setting on their end on my account. I was placed on hold a few times and he would come back on to have me try to get on Safari and even Google... after the 3rd on-hold, he returned and asked me to try to use my data again without the wifi turned on and BINGO it worked... I still do not have my wifi turned on and I'm still receiving texts from YESTERDAY too while I was away from wifi service. IF you come across this issue - please call Straight Talk and/or log on to your Straight Talk online account and talk to an online customer service representative and get their direct line phone number for iPhone support and have your Reference PIN number available. Try quitting the Camera app or restarting the iPhone. Do they upload to the Photo Steam after that?
Take a look at Apple's Photo Stream FAQ.
On an iOS device, new photos you take will be automatically uploaded to your Photo Stream when you leave the Camera app and are connected to Wi-Fi. Note: Photo Stream does not push photos over cellular connections.

ICloud pictures not syncing - Shared streams will; camera roll will not

Ever since I got my new iPhone 5c my Camera Roll will not sync with my computer. The shared streams will sync, the pictures will sync with my other devices just not the computer.
I have tried untinstalling the icloud from the computer and reinstalling, I have signed out and back in on both the computer and iPhone, I just cant figure it out.
Has anyone else had this happen?

Similar issues, although maybe not quite as catastrophically bad. I've got a Mac Mini, an iMac, and an MBA, all running Yosemite, an iPhone 6, and an iPad 3 (both iOS devices are running iOS 8). The iOS devices seem to sync okay with changes made on the Mini, and vice versa, but the iMac doesn't seem to be syncing at all with the other devices, nor does the MBA. Based on the original post, I'm not going to bother calling Apple and spending an entire workday trying everything short of replacing the main logic board to try to figure out the problem.
What's particularly annoying is that Yosemite just went through an extended beta period. Unfortunately, there was no equivalent beta program for iOS 8, so there were probably plenty of areas where Apple simply did not do sufficient QC in an area where things need to work flawlessly: file management. Some of the files I keep on iCloud are hundreds of pages long, and the notion that they may become lost or corrupted gives me chills. Apple advertises iCloud Drive as a way to safely and reliably work on your files on multiple devices. So far, it is neither.

To delete your photo library you need to connect to iTunes, then remove the selection for the images, then sync the device.
While you are connected to iTunes do the update through iTunes. It takes much less memory as the update is loaded onto your computer, unpacked, then sent to the device.
