Scrolling webpages?

I'm new to Flash Catalyst and figuring out how to make a website in the program is the goal of my senior project this semester...
Now the thing that I just can't seem to figure out is why, when viewing my project in my browser window, there is no option to scroll so that I can see the rest of my content below.  I don't know if the fact that I created my layout in Illustrator is causing the problem, or if there is something you have to do in Catalyst so that the browser knows to scroll.  I am stumped.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Since Flash Catalyst was designed for application design and not web design, this is one of those issues that can appear.
The only option I can think of is to put the content into a scroll pane, and scroll within the FC app, and not the broswer.

  • When scrolling webpages go white, and take a second to refresh.

I upgraded to FF18 Friday. This morning I'm having problems with the browser window, and the menu bars and bookmark side bar.
The browser window goes completely white when scrolling up or down, with mouse scroll wheel, or the side slider.
The areas where the file menu and address bar where the navigation buttons along with the bookmarks side bar will go completely black. I can put the mouse over the areas, and they are functional, though I cannot see what I'll be clicking.
    My system is running XP

hello gedwardsvper, please either try updating your graphics driver (this should be the right link for your model: http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-tesla-winxp-x32-307.45-whql-driver.html) or disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > general.

  • Musca scrolling webpage is very slow and a little freezing

    Hi guys !
I installed Musca on yaourt ,my os is x86_64,
when I scrolled in firefox ,the web page scrolled very slow and with some freezing.:(
but the termial (urxvt) and other apps was working without this problem.
my video driver is x86_video_radeonhd ,
my video card is ATI HD3650.
when I use fvwm ,all things works well!
    thanks for your help!!!:D

Hi, I see you're pretty new to the forums. Unfortunately, I don't know what could be causing your problem. So, let me first direct you to the thread about musca here. You may also want to look at the ATI thread (no idea). Have you tried enabling/disenabling compositing?
Secondly, let me direct you to the Forum Etiquette guide, especially the part about bumping. Usually you should only "bump" your thread after 3-5 days and after you have tried more, researched more, and only to tell us any new information you have, like "XYZ doesn't help either, it makes Firefox segfault."

  • Slow loading and slow scrolling webpages.

The pages in safari and Firefox are loading and scrolling down and up very slow, this was not like this yesterday or ever before, why is this?

Check Activity Monitor (located in Applications -> Utilities) to see what other processes are using up the cpu. If both browsers are slow, it sounds like something else is using the cpu.

  • Extremely slow scrolling webpages on Tecra M5

I have a Tecra M5 and on web pages, when I'am scrolling, it is extremely slow and the pictures roll up like blinds.
What could be the issue with this?

  • Firefox 37 Beta on Windows 8.1 has lag and stuttering when scrolling

I just recently got a new laptop, and since the minute I've installed firefox on it there has been lag when scrolling webpages. It seems to start off not too badly, with there being some stuttering when I first open firefox, however it seems like the longer I'm browsing the worse it gets, to the point where sometimes I'll start scrolling and then a second later firefox will just jump to the bottom of the page. Internet Explorer and Chrome both have perfectly smooth scrolling.
I've tried numerous things to fix it already, this is some of the stuff I can remember trying:
-Turning off hardware acceleration and smooth scrolling
    -Starting in safe mode
    -Complete reinstall with new profile
-Updating graphics card and intel drivers
    Specs of the new laptop:
    Core i7
    GTX 970M
    16Gb RAM

When I was trying different versions of Firefox to see if they all had the scrolling problem, I made sure to try 36, 38, and even 31.5 ESL portable. They all have the scrolling problem when my laptop is unplugged. However, when I tried Tor just to see what would happen - bingo! Perfectly smooth scrolling once more. This is especially weird as Tor uses 31.5.3 ESL as a base...
This made me think that it could potentially be a plugin, as Tor doesn't have any plugins installed other than Flash. However, after first disabling, then manually removing, every plugin that was listed in about:plugins the problem continues to persist.
Any idea why Tor would work flawlessly while every other version of firefox suffers the scrolling issue? I couldn't seem to remove the OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, plugin. Is it possible to remove it in order to see if it is causing the problem?

  • Does the mousepad have scrolling function when you swipe up and down on the side?

I am curious to know if the mousepad has a scrolling feature (swipe up and down on the right side) would scroll webpage.
I come from Sony laptop and their mousepad has this feature which is convenient rather than using page up and down to scroll webpage.
    thanks.

It does not have a scrolling function on the side of the touchpad, but it does have multitouch capabilities so you can push two fingers down, start the scroll, and I recently discovered that you can take one finger off and move the one that is still on to the top (or bottom) of the touchpad and it will continue the scroll so it does not scroll a bit, stop, and make you scroll again. A nifty little feature, in my opinion.
Of course, I am fairly sure all Yogas come with a touchscreen, which is really nice for scrolling as well.

  • My iMac 2010 27" makes low noises EXCEPT when scrolling with my magic mouse.

It's like a low static electric noise but it stops when I scroll webpages and such with my magic mouse.

It's coming from inside the iMac and turning down/mute-ing doesn't change it and neither does it stop when I plug in headphones. It doesn't stop when I turn off the built in monitor.
The batteries are ok and no phone around. The sound is not like an interference sound. It's more like the sound the harddrive makes except not as loud and higher pitch (i guess).
The sound has been for a while. More than a month but not since I bought it.
    Thanks for your reply!

  • Macbook pro choppy / laggy scrolling after wakeup

As long as the MacBook is running after Boot UI is behaving smooth,
but after MacBook went to sleep and wakes up again UI is very choppy or laggy when scrolling WebPages (all Browsers) or moving Windows.
Only way to get smooth scrolling back is to restart the MacBook
I've got a MacBook Pro Mid 2009 (MacBookPro5,3) and using Mountain Lion actually.
With Snow Leopard i haven't had these Problems

Such problems appear when upgrading a somewhat old machine to a modern  OS. New operating systems demand powerful hardware to run them.
Try go to 'System Preferences' app, then to 'Sharing'; disable the option 'Screen Sharing'. Make sure its status turns to off. Restart your machine.
Disabling some of the OS features that you might not use saves processing power, this  solves such problems.
    Sincerely.

  • Turn iPhone into a Scrolling Device?

Is there an app that allows you to use your iphone to scroll webpages or back and forth in a film strip, or perform similar functions to what the new apple mouse will do?
    Thanks!

I don't understand your question. Do you want to use your iPhone as a mouse, that functions like the new Apple mouse, with your computer?

  • Updated to 10.9.3, issues persist with Mail.

Just updated to 10.9.3, and seemingly nothing looks to be fixed....at all.
Since Mavericks 10.9 release, issues with Mail have been ongoing for me.
Gmail is still hit/miss--sometimes mail notifications come in, sometimes not.
VIP Folders randomly and grey out on the horizontal "favorites" bar.
Unread mail shows up in the Archive, Sent, and Trash folders. (esp. the iCloud account)
As of 10.9.3, mail notification sounds stopped working reliably--sometimes yes, most times no.
    As for Mavericks itself....
Slow to sleep, boot, and shutdown. I bootcamp with Windows 8.1 for work on an Early '11 MBP (8GB RAM, 750GB HDD), when I drop the lid or boot the machine, everything is snappy. Even with a clean install (under 10.9.2), it's just slow. 10.9.3 has done nothing to fix this, now I get the spinning beachball for nearly 2min after the desktop shows.
Notification sounds (i.e. trash, mail, etc.) seem to be intermittent  since installing 10.9.3.
Safari will flicker the browser window when scrolling webpages, usually the lower 1/2 of the page; installed 10.9.3, no change. Running on discrete (Radeon) GPU and the issue appears less pronounced but still happens.
This is just sad. I spend 1/2 my time in Windows 8.1 for work and Mavericks is just dog slow and glitchy by comparison. I can't help but wonder if there is a diffusion of talent going on with Apple's programmers lately.
Anyway, if anyone has advice or suggestions on anything I've listed, please advise.
    Thanks!

  • How to edit a web page in Acrobat 9???

    Hello,
I would like to create a PDF from my website, but do not like the way the web page breaks up when I download it into Acrobat Pro 9. I don't want to change the way the page looks online, just the way it will print out if a client downloads the PDF. Acrobat doesn't seem to allow me to go into the page source to add breaks, or have a command for adding page breaks,  to even out the spacing so that it prints the way I want. Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Rich

Sorry but that suggestion doesn't help.I want to add a page break in the web page, in Acrobat,  without having to go in and redesign each page in notepad, rewriting  the html code , so that my scrolling webpage has a page break where I choose as it goes from one page to the next. I don't want it to print a full page of text on the 1st page as that breaks up information I want to keep grouped together. Here;'s the site: http://www.iditarodtours.com/iditarod.htm I want to keep each tour itinerary seperate and together.
    Thanks

  • IPad3 + iOS 7.0.3 some motions are twitching

    I updated my iPad3  5.1.1 to 7.0.3
I noticed Safari is now much slower to load and view webpages. And it's twitching! In iOS 5.1.1 it was so smooth to scroll webpages. Also multitasking view are twitching when I change program.
How can I fix this problem? Or is the problem on iOS7's program code?

  • X crashes (I think)

Hi, I have some problem with my arch, the thing is that it is freezing preatty often, and nothing works, ctrl + alt +F1 and ctrl alt backspace doesn't work, the only thing that is working is pushing the powerbutton and reboot.
The problem started after I came back after Christmas and did a pacman -Syu, didn't see any weird things in the output thou. I have read some other threads about people with problems similar to mine, and tried the most of the tips given to them, I have changed my driver to nv instead of nvidia for example. The crashes came in both fluxbox and KDE, and almost always when I'm scrolling webpages (in both firefox and opera), but the first crash was when I was minimizing a window. I have tried to read the logs after the error, but there isn't anything about firefox or opera after the crashes. But I don't really know what logs I should be looking in, and I need to reboot after the crashes, which make it hard to find. I tried to search after firefox and opera in the logs but didn't find anything.
Don't know what files that is needed to solve it, but I can upload them if you say what ones you need.
    Computer specs are:
    Amd athlon 64 X2 dual
    3 GB ram
    Nvidia geforce 7300 GS
    Sorry about the lousy english.

  • What refresh rates does the Macbook Pro 2011 support? (Internal Display)

While I know you used to be able to change the refresh rate via General Settings, now you have to use an app or probably something terminal related.
Ignoring this, I just got a new 2011 MBP when my old one couldn't be fixed and after having the display/resolution upgraded I noticed that, when scrolling webpages, there is a bit of... I dunno, ghosting or something? Nothing that indicates there is a problem with the display or card, but it's something that could probably be fixed by a stronger refresh rate.
So my question is as the subject states. What is supported? I read 60 and 75 is typical for Apple, but I want confirmation. Remember, internal display, not external.
    Thanks!

For some reason Displays no longer shows that information, so I don't know what it is. However, the last time I saw the information on a 2009 MBP it was 75.
I'd think there is a utility around that might provide the info like Display Maestro 1.1.7 or SwitchResX.
