Scrubby sliders in the Lens Blur Filter in PS CC 2014 behaving erratically.

The scrubby sliders in the Lens Blur Filter in PS CC 2014 are behaving erratically. In PS CC no problems. I may be mistaken, but I think I read somewhere that this filter only works on 8bit images.
In PS CC it works on 16bit, and in PS CC 2014 (no third-party plugins) nothing works. Could this have something to do with the Graphic Card, or Cache Levels? All advice appreciated.

Sorry, no solution to the problem, but a confirmation. I do have the same problem (Intuos Pro and Pen & Touch) showing the problem with ACR 8.5 and Photoshop (2014, CC and 6, these were updated with ACR 8.5) . No such problem before ACR 8.5 and no problem with LR 5.5 (also containing ACR 8.5).
I hope there will be a solution from Adobe soon, since sems to be caused by the ACR update.
Windows 8.1 in my case and latest Wacom Intuos driver installed.

  • LR/PS - Applying the Lens Blur Filter for Selective Focus | Adobe Evangelists - Julieanne Kost | Adobe TV

In this episode of The Complete Picture, Julieanne Kost shows us how to get great results with the Lens Blur Filter in Adobe Photoshop CS4.
    http://adobe.ly/x3bXus

After you make the blur over the full picture, you quickly switch to the gradient panel, but you say it so fast that I don't know what you pressed to get there. It sounds like you say tap the "g" key for gradient. But when I do that, the paint bucket tool appears. Help?

  • How can i view the ellipse and the points on the ellipse in order to modify the settings when i'm using the iris blur filter on Photoshop CC 2014

I can't use this blur filter (diaphragm) because i see nothing that could allow me to increase, decrease or move the ellipse that normally appear(?) on the screen. What's amazing is that this filter does his job on photoshop CS6, but not on Photoshop CC 2014 ?! Thanks in advance for your help.  Serge.

    Start from the beginning
    - Select the Rectangle Tool - go to Options Bar, ensure 'Shape' options is on from the the Pick a Tool Mode drop down list.
    - Draw Rect. This should create a vector Shape Layer.
    - Select it in the Layers Panel: The Properties Panel then should highlight the Density and Feather options.
What happens here when you drag the Feather slider? On my end it feathers the vector shape as a whole.
If you need further masking capabilities, then apply a Layer Mask to the Shape and proceed with the Properties Panel Density/Feather options.

  • Iris shapes in lens blur filter

    Hi,
In earlier versions of Photoshop the lens blur filter offered the ability to choose the iris shape one wished to apply to bokeh being created.
I can't seem to find that in the new filter gallery.
Anyone know where it is hiding?

    Good day!
Could you please post a screenshot with the Layers Panel visible?

  • CS 5.5 plug-ins - sans Lens Blur Filter

hello the BASIC Lens Blur filter from AE 5 is NOT showing up in AE 5.5 - and yes its in the correct folder in AE 5.5 but its not a choice in the effects menu
    any solution suggestion?

Lens blur is not included in 5.5 as a selectable option.
However, you can add lens blur to a layer in CS5, then open or import the project in CS5.5. The filter will show up and you can copy and paste it to another layer. It's kind of a wonky workaround, but it will work.
I'd love to see a project where the new filter won't do what the old one did. Blur map is the new Depth Map. If you have an example, even WO footage I'd love to take a look at it.

  • Using Camera Lens Blur Filter / Mask

I have a question concerning the lens blur and I hoping someone can point me to a good tutorial.
I have several interview segments and I would like to do a small digital zoom at the end of each clip. The background is slightly out of focus already and it doesn't look natural to zoom when the bokeh is not changing.
I have a good handle on the filter but I am not that experienced with advanced mattes. I need to learn how to get the matte on the person and stay during the zoom so I can manipulate the background. The subjects are seated on a stool so their is very little movement.
Did some searches but I am probably not searching the right keywords. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
    Thanks.

Masking? Rotsoscoping? I can think of a million ways to create separated layers or mattes and then duplicate the layer and invert the masks/ matte, but if you never have used that stuff before, you will hard-crash on concrete and not get very far, I'm afraid. It takes at least a bit of practice to produce a clean matte. As a palce to start you may get by suing the Rotobrush and see, if it produces clean enough edges, but if not, it's proably better to scrap the idea before eitehr ending up with a bad result or not meeting your deadline...

  • Nikon D800 Camera not listed in the Lens Correction Filter under camera models in Photoshop CC 2014

I do not see a Nikon D 800 Camera listed in the Lens Correction Filter under camera models. Is there any way to update this ?

The lens distortion corrections are encoded in such a way that they are independent of the body of camera that they were determined with--in other words they are in terms of millimeters not pixels.  The only issue is that lens profiles computed on a crop-frame body can't reliably be applied for the same lens on a full-frame body because the lens profile from a crop-frame body won't cover the entire full-frame lens image circle.
So as you're looking for a lens profile just make sure you're using a full-frame one if you have a full-frame or crop-frame camera, and don't try to use a crop-frame one on a full-frame camera.  I'd expect Adobe only computes crop-frame profiles for crop-frame lenses, and uses full-frame camera bodies on full frame lenses, so there shouldn't be a problem.

  • The camera presets for the Lens Correction Filter are gone

Hi!  I shoot with a Canon 5D Mk II and Mk III.  Sometimes I need to use the Lens Correction filter and have gotten used to seeing the dropdown choices for Canon cameras and associated lenses.  Suddenly, they are all gone.  Canon isn't even an option.  What could have happened to them and how can I get them back.  Any advice would be most appreciated.  Thanks!

    Jeff,
Thanks for the quick answer, but I still think the menu is misleading.
If the body choices were in the format of "full frame, 1.3 crop, 1.6
crop, etc.", it would be clear that the specific model didn't matter.
However, this would create its own problems since many people wouldn't
understand the concept of the crop factor for their camera.
The fact that the 5D Mark II exists in the pull-down menu as a discrete
choice in addition to the 1Ds Mark III implies that there is a difference
between the two. Even if there is no functional difference in this context,
it would avoid confusion if the actual body from the EXIF information could
    always be the default selection.
       Thanks.

  • Anyone know how to reset the lens correction filter? (it's using the wrong scratch disk)

OK, to back up a little, I recently discovered that photoshop was using the wrong drive for it's scratch disk (it wasn't obeying the preferences I'd set). So, I reset the photoshop preferences file (ctrl-alt-shift & open photoshop).
Trouble is, the lens correction filter is still using drive "F:" (my only scratch disks are C, D and I). It access it at a root level and creates some temporary files while the filter is in use.
Does anyone know how I can get photoshop to behave?
    Thanks

  • The best 'blur' filter to use on high rez stills jittering on NTSC?

I've got a film full of stills a la Ken Burns.
Some have some very fine lines... and thus are jittering on the NTSC screens. I want to add a slight blur ...
I can use a Flicker Filter, but sometimes find it takes two or three of them in a row to do the job.
What is the best 'blur' filter to do something like this?
    Ben

Ahhh...this KILLED me on THE MEXICAN AMERICAN WAR. I had lots of line art that was fine in HD, but the SD downconverts moired like a...well, I can say that word.
So I had to go in an use a 2% directional blur...vertical. That took care of that...well, enough to pass inspection anyway.
Directional blur...angle at 90, blur level at .2 to .5.

  • Where is the SURFACE BLUR filter?

In Photoshop CS2, there is a surface blur filter. I need to use it now, but I can't find its plugin although I have Photoshop CS2 SDK now.
Where can I call the "surface blur" function?
    Thank you!

Thank you very much for your information.
But I want to call this function in my VC++ codes. Could you tell me how to do?
    Best regards.

  • Lens blur filter - limit in use?!

I've got a question about lens blur. What I've done is duplicate my background layer, and used the quick selection tool to do some lens blur in my photo to imitate depth of field. I've done 3 different lens blur selections on this same duplicate layer. I wanted to do a fourth (I'm doing this with different amount of blurs, that's why it's not all one selection), but all of a sudden I can't apply lens blur anymore. Is there a limit for how many selections you can have in one photo? I also tried duplicating the duplicate layer, but it still won't let me add it. HELP PLEASE!!

  • Why is The Oil Paint Filter not on photoshop 2014  and when are we get it back

    i wan to user this
The Oil Paint Filter in Photoshop

I too object to the oil paint filter being removed in CC 2014. It was extremely useful in a number of different ways, so I used it a lot. And especially irritating when I pay so much for the CC subscription to hear Adobe needs to dumb down the cool and useful features in favor of keeping other older less useful filters.  Weird.  So now I have to go back and forth between the old and new versions of PS to do what I want….

  • I want to enter the info specific to my camera and lens into the lens corrections options in P'shop 2014 and L'room 2015 but they're not on the list. (Nikon D-750 with 24-120 lens). How do I fix this?

I recently upgraded from a Nikon D-7000 to a D-750 with the Nikkor 24-120 mm lens but they aren't on the list of options in either P'shop or Lightroom under camera and lens profiles. Since every tutorial I viewed on the 24-120 lens suggested fixing the distortion issues in P'shop, how do I make the choice without those specific products being on the list? (P'shop 2014, L'room 2015)

A few do shoot in JPEG...I definitely do not!
    You're welcome!

  • Using the Camera Raw Filter from photoshop cc 2014, I dont get all the tools, e.g. crop icon is not available. Are some features restricted?

I only seem to have 10 icons (features) available to use, for example the crop or straighten features are missing. Are these features restricted by some settings?
