SCTP API for Solaris 10

I've been trying to use SCTP for Solaris 10, and it seems that the API is very far behind the current SCTP API. Does anyone know if there's an update to SCTP for Solaris, or if one is planned at some point? Thanks.
- Jon

Don't go back any farther though.
I've heard reports that prior to Solaris 9, the included in.tftpd lacks certain extensions that are required for PXEGRUB in Solaris 10 to work properly.

  • USB API?  Solaris 8 or in 9?

I am looking for any information on the USB api for Solaris. In the early docs on Solaris 8, it was mentioned that the api would be in a future release, but I cannot find it. Does anyone have information about its inclusion (or exclusion) in Solaris 8?
    Thanks in advance,

Have a look at the manpages (in s8) for uhci, ohci, hubd, usb_mid, hid and scsa2usb. The document "Writing Device Drivers" (see docs.sun.com) is also useful, as is the documentation on USB located at http://www.usb.org/developers/home.php3

  • Available APIs for process and package management

Hello All and welcome to my Hello All:
Welcome to my inaugural post. I am a complete noob to Solaris (although I have been using Linux for 5+ years) and am in the process of trying to get a handle on what local C/C++ APIs (if any) are available for management. Specifically, I am looking to find out about process and package management.
For process management, basically I would like to know is there some kind of interface to the the prstat application (ie. Memory and CPU utilization). Does something like this exist?
For package management, I am looking for the ability to add, remove, and query the package database. Correct me if I am wrong, but the Solaris package database seems similar to that of a Debian system (at least from the perspective that the informational files are stored as plain text in a well-defined directory [ie /var/sadm/pkg/]).
I have installed Solaris 10 on an x86 machine with a full installation; however, of the installed development kits (listed below) nothing jumped out at me.

I've placed orders for Solaris Internals and Solaris Performance & Tuning (that should arrive tomorrow), but I was hoping that someone could give me a gentle push (or perhaps a swift kick) in a general direction. :)
    Thanks.

For process management, basically I would like to
know is there some kind of interface to the the
prstat application (ie. Memory and CPU utilization).
Does something like this exist? Not prstat (although you could 'truss' it and see some of what it's doing to collect the information). kstat is available with a C interface and through perl/shell. It has several CPU fields. It's certainly useful for monitoring, but read-only. I'm not sure what you're looking for in terms of "management".
Also 'dtrace' can provide tons of dynamic information, but that's not necessarily what you're looking for.
For package management, I am looking for the ability
to add, remove, and query the package database.
Correct me if I am wrong, but the Solaris package
database seems similar to that of a Debian system
(at least from the perspective that the
informational files are stored as plain text in a
well-defined directory [ie /var/sadm/pkg/]).Yes, although it's based on the SysV packaging system. I don't believe there's any API for it outside of the 'pkg*' utilities.

  • Announcement Oracle9iAS Portal Patch Release 3.0.9.8.3 For Solaris is now available

Oracle9iAS Portal Patch Release 3.0.9.8.3 For Solaris is now available for download from metalink. Bugnumber for the patch release is 2131815.
You must install this patch release over an Oracle9iAS 1.0.2.2 installation of Oracle9iAS Portal. You can install it over either a production installation (3.0.9.8.0) or a patched installation (3.0.9.8.1, 3.0.9.8.2). This patch release is cumulative and it incorporates the changes from the earlier patches (3.0.9.8.1, 3.0.9.8.2). The installation instructions are in README.TXT and RELNOTES.HTM contained in the patch release.
The patch will be available for other platforms by the end of May.

I saw this warning in the content area API home page.
Warning - The Content Area APIs available in 3.0.8.x and 3.0.9.x will not work with Oracle9iAS Portal 9.0.2. They are not available with this release
    Will there be other API's?
Are you removing the concept of loading an item through APIs?
    Thanks in advance

  • JMS C API for AIX

              Hi,
Is there a version for JMS C API for AIX ? Where can I find it ?
              Thanks,

If your willing to use an untested binary, I suppose you
might be able to get BEA to compile one for you (the
majority of work in a new platform port is often just making sure
that it passes all tests, even if, as is often happens,
there is a 100% pass rate.) Again, I recommend making
sure you make a request through customer support and
make sure that JMS product manager Frazier Miller sees it.

  • Communication API for Linux

I want to develop an application in Java for Linux that uses serial port .
But java.sun.com provides communications API for Windows, Solaris but not Linux ! ! !
Where can I find free java api to drive a serial port easily ???
    Thanks a lot

I think you can do this using the version for Solaris/SPARC along with RXTX for Linux (do a search on google), also I think IBM did a JavaCOMM api for linux.

  • Java(tm) Communication API for win32

I looked all over the java website for the java comm api for windows.... Can't find it... They have it for linux and solaris but no windows.
Is there anywhere on the net that I can get it, if it exists.
The file i'm looking for is javacomm20-win32.zip.
    Thanks!

  • RAMDISK for Solaris 8

I want to install ramdisk for Solaris 8. Is it possible ? I don't know how to do that. How can explain how to do that ?

    Dear All,
I try to set up a ramdisk on Solaris 8 by the command:
    # mount -F tmpfs -o size=1800m swap /mypath/ramdisk
(1). use "mkfile" to test the performance:
1-1. in the original file system (vx)
    # mkfile 1500m 1500m ==> it needs about 20 sec.
    1-2. in "/ramdisk"
    # mkfile 1500m 1500m ==> it needs about 10 sec.
(2). after copying my data, the free space is:
    # df -k
Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity Mounted on
    swap 1843200 1115712 727488 61% /mypath/ramdisk
(3). when my applicatiion is running, I check the log:
( it needs to import a big file (41MB) )
3-1. before using ramdisk, importing the file needs 16 sec.
3-2. after using ramdisk, importing the file needs 15 sec.
    * I use "vmstat -p 2" to check epi/epo, api/apo are very low.
    My question is:
since the test result of step (1) shows the performance of ramdisk is better than vx,
why the result of step (3) is almost the same?
Can somebody explain this situation or give me suggestion, thanks.

  • Is "SCSI Generic" driver available for Solaris 10?

I just wanted to know whether "SCSI Generic" driver is available for Solaris 10? And if yes then is it freely available?
weblinks for download would be very much helpful.

sgen is the driver that exports the uscsi api. I would presume that uscsi and sg would be similar, but annoyingly different. You can see the uscsi interface here: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-5430/6mksu57l0?l=en&a=view&q=uscsi

  • Where can I download the JMS C API for WLS 12c?

Where can I download the JMS C API for WLS 12c? It doeesn't appear to be bundled with the standard or supplemental WLS zip files, nor obvious as a separate download bundle. Searching oracle.com finds plenty of documents which reference its existence, but not how to obtain it (unless I missed something). Pointers appreciated, thanks.

Thanks. Unfortunately, that's just a reference to the documentation. As I said, there's lots of reference to the C API in the documentation but I need the source code (I have an existing application running against WLS8.1/Solaris that I want to port to WLS12c/linux).

  • PostThreadMessage, PeekMessage equivalent  for solaris

    Hi all,
Iam new to porting and have been trying to find out solaris specific Cpp(or C) APIs for some of the win32 APIs for Thread handling. All these APIs are in the windows.h header.
    PostThreadMessage
    PeekMessage

and if I am not too much ambitious can you people point me to some documentation which talks about the windows.h file and solaris implementation for the APIs in that file?
    Thanks in advance,

If anyone does reply to you, could you point me in the right direction as I am doing something similar.
