SCUP Adobe Acrobat Installation Failures - Bad Certificate

I recently published some Acrobat updates in SCUP 2011. Shortly after that, I had to regenerate another cert from SCUP due to the old one expiring. I have some updates out there that are failing on user's machines with errors like this in WindowsUpdate.log
Validating signature for C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\431980c76c452fe726671fe621ed1900_ctc\AcrobatUpd11010.cab with dwProvFlags 0x00000080:
FATAL: Error: 0x800b0101 when verifying trust for C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\431980c76c452fe726671fe621ed1900_ctc\AcrobatUpd11010.cab
WARNING: Digital Signatures on file C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\431980c76c452fe726671fe621ed1900_ctc\AcrobatUpd11010.cab are not trusted: Error 0x800b0101
I went ahead and in SCUP republished them and checked the option to re-sign the updates with the new cert. I sync'd SCCM and saw the update in the logs getting sync'd. Then I refreshed my DPs that had the update.
When I tried to reinstall the update on a client I got the same errors in WindowsUpdate.log as above. What do I need to do so that the client's content will get signed with the new cert?

Hi,
Refreshing the DP is not enough, you need to download and deploy those updates again otherwise the DP's will be refreshed from the source for the intial updates you deployed and they are not updated when you sync with WSUS only when you deploy a software
update.

  • Adobe Acrobat Installer

I have no idea how this Adobe Acrobat Installer got installed. Went to update flash, get the message "Adobe Acrobat Installer, Only a single Instance of this Application Can Run". I do not have Acrobat or Reader, only Air. I cannot install Flash. Now what? And, no I cannot find this Adobe Installer.

  • For some reason, Adobe Acrobat Installer is on my computer & I can't load Flash

No, I did not load Acrobat or Reader, only have Adobe Air. I cannot find Adobe Acrobat Installer on my Windows XP. When, I go to download Flash a message pops up Saying:" Adobe Acrobat Installer, Only a Single Instance of this Application can Run". I use Chrome for my FB games, because I need Flash. I don't have any idea how this happened. Yes, I posted this in Adobe's forum, also. Any ideas?:

    Hello Elainemacko
    1. Fist I would uninstall any version of Abobe Flash plugin or active x installed.
Please go to '''Add or Remove Programs''' ([http://support.microsoft.com/KB/307895 Click Here to see how to uninstall programs from Windows XP]) and check you don't have "'Abobe Flash Player"' Installed, If so uninstall it.
    2. [http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html Click here to go to Adobe Flash Player Distribution] (This is the off line installer)
    3. Click '''Download EXE Installer''' Under '''Windows''' and save the file.
    4. Once downloaded double click the install files. '''make sure to close any browser you have open first'''. (At the time of writing this it should be called "'install_flash_player_15_plugin.exe"')
    5. Once the installer finishes installing [http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ Click Here] to go to the "'Check Abobe Flash is installed and up to date Page"' to test if the installer install Adobe Flash properly.
Please let me know if this solves you problem.

  • Converted MS Word 2007 to Adobe Acrobat 9 random "Bad Parameter" Error

Question: I Converted MS Word 2007 file which contained 892 pages into Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard afterwards and while needing to update only certain pages I receive the "Bad Parameter" Error. My process is using drop down Document/Extract pages(make my updates)/Replace pages into complete PDF file/ usually with no problem then towards the last pages of the PDF the Error showed up! I believe that it’s possible, the conversion initially may have allowed many tags to be written correctly but some are corrupted. It could be a buffer-overflow failsafe that is having an adverse effect against the two programs because of the file’s size? I have seen some good advice come from many people on this site like "Bill@VT" and "CtDave" and others so I am humbly requesting assistance? Some additional background information is I have to keep the file size the same and I cannot print to PDF file from Word due to a specific format I must keep and most of the PDF is not corrupt: meaning receiving the "Error". I would like to know if the error that seems to be due to the conversion process can be corrected. I have provided some additional similar post below from other customers that may be useful as reference material?  R/ Thanks in advance!
“Like 10 others, I get a "bad parameter" pop-up window when I try to delete 1 or more pages from a PDF created from Adobe 8 Pro from Microsoft Word 2007.  Of the 3 computers we have tried to delete the pages, we are running Windows XP and Office 2007 on all.  But 1 computer has Adobe 7 Pro, one has Adobe 8 Pro, and the 3rd has Adobe 9 Pro.  None are able to delete or extract the pages -- we get the bad parameter error each time we try. The PDF has 260 pages and occupies 5.7 MB memory.  What additional information can I provide to get a resolution to this problem?  Thanks!” “Civilengr10” (posted Aug 17, 2010)
“I am taking adobe files from a database, saving them, and then making changes to them by inserting (from other adobe files from the same database) or deleting pages.  Very basic stuff! However, sometimes when I want to insert pages, it will insert them but then say "bad parameter".  After that point, I cannot delete any pages.  It will give me the "bad parameter" error again and not delete. I have reduced the file size, ran "Examine Document" and removed whatever it wanted me to, and whenever I save a file, I do Save As...instead of Save! Also, under preferences > security I have the "Verify signatures when the document is opened" unchecked. None of these recommendations that I have read elsewhere work.  Can someone offer me some guidance? I am working on the files locally.  I save the files from the database unto my own folder on the computer. The thing is, some of the files I download from the database are fine and do not give me any error, but others do.  Do you know how I can fix the files that are corrupted from the database?” “hoda64” (posted July 22, 2009)
“Problem converting Word 2007 DOC to PDF 9
I have a Word 2007 DOC (not docx) file with pictures and text which converted perfectly with Distiller 8. I installed CS4 Distiller 9, and now the same DOC file flows over onto several extra pages. I am using the default settings. Any idea what has changed? Thanks in advance.  “Petrula” (posted Nov 29, 2002) “First, select the Adobe PDF printer in WORD. Then go through the document to check for the flow of the document. It should print the same as you see in the document after the printer has been selected.”

For the replace and delete pages, I can only guess that you are messing up some of the bookmarks or links in the page from what I think you have based on the description. I would work on copies between each stage so that you can at least go back to the last success stage. If possible, you are better to go back and do the modifications in the original page and the recreate the PDF. If that is not possible, then maybe a better explanation of how you are creating the PDF would help folks understand your process fully and suggest a solution.
On the latter, I would do a repair on Acrobat. However, it may be in the process you are using in the conversion from WORD. How are you creating the PDF from WORD? Have you updated AA9 and not simply have 9.0? The confusing point is that you talk about Distiller for getting the PDF from WORD. Distiller is often involved, but only behind the scenes and normally you either print to the Adobe PDF printer, use PDF Maker, or use the MS plugin for PDF creation. So when stating Distiller, it is unclear what process you are using since none of the methods I mention state the use of Distiller even if it is used in the background.

  • Error 1304 for adobe acrobat installation

So freakin frustrating. Spend loads of money at Adobe to find that just upgrading installing an older version of Adobe Acrobat completely scrwed up my system and no one is available to help.
it continues giving a 1304 error, VERY FRUSTRATING.
last time i purchase from adobe!
what can be done to unscrew up my system?

Without proper system info and other details we can't know anything. This error is a permissions issue, so something is blocking access to your system drive or at least specific folders.

  • Adobe Acrobat installer does not install...

downloaded the install file, ran it, the install screen (fuel gauge) never shows install progress, what's up with that?

  • I just purchased Adobe Acrobat Standard and am unable to upload the software to my laptop. It is stalled in the Adobe Acrobat Installer.

Do you have any suggestions are why I can't upload the Adobe Acrobat software onto my laptop. It remains stalled in the download screen!

    Hi margueritem,
What browser are you trying to download from? Please make sure that you're signed in as an admin, have virus-protection disabled, and try using a different web browser. You can also try downloading directly from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X - Adobe
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Adobe AIR Installation Failure on Fedora 10 64-bit: "cannot enable executable stack"

    Hi:
I followed instructions for installing Adobe AIR 1.5 on 64-bit Fedora 10 at <http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408084.html#Installing_AIR_1.5_on_64-bit_Fedora_10>. However, upon completing yum installs, and trying to install AIR after making it executable, I get:
    $ ./AdobeAIRInstaller.bin
Error loading the runtime (/tmp/air.pe4fqq/build/opt/Adobe AIR/Versions/1.0/libCore.so: cannot enable executable stack as shared object requires: Permission denied)
Trying to install as root gives the same result.
    Appreciate your help. Thank you.

The problem is that SELinux blocks executable stack usage. (The REAL problem may actually be that Adobe's binary allows for executable stack usage). I encountered the same error on 32-bit Fedora 12. To fix it:
    # chmod +x AdobeAIRInstaller.bin
    # setsebool -P allow_execstack=1
    # ./AdobeAIRInstaller.bin
Hope that does it for you.
