SCVMM Resources Off/Warning in Cluster

Hi
We have a 3 node 2012R2 Hyper-V cluster that is managed with VMM.
When looking in Failover Cluster Manager, there are a number of roles that say
SCVMM MachineName Resources. Some are off, others are running.
Some of the 'Off' ones are machines we have deleted. Others have the machine name of a running machine.
Eg. Our VMM machine is called SC-VMM.
In Failover Cluster Manager, there is a machine called SC-VMM that is running. There is also a machine called 'SCVMM SC-VMM Resources' that is off.
When running the Cluster Validation Wizard, these SCVMM Reources machines cause warnings as VM's are offline.

I checked all deployment descriptions and there are no references to t3://localhost:7001. Few months back, I had the complete clustering setup working on 2 machines and now when I deploy my application on same configuration, it fails with t3://localhost:7001 unreachable error. I created a new cluster configuration on one machine with 2 managed server and it deploys fine. Can not figure out what has changed ?

Hi, as we know, we always turn off warning messages on queries by RSRT, but I don't know why.

hi,
If you didnt surpress the messages in the RSRT,
when user execute the report, on the top of the variable screen, and top of the report out put page the system will give warning messages, and usally Users dont like to see those messages and some of the users can think that there is some problem with the query designing;
so always better to surpress the messages

1) Update the messaging-config.xml under resource and add the cluster definition with shared-backend attribute. [#blz-197]
2) Minor update to the session test.
Ticket Links:
http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/blz-197
Modified Paths:
blazeds/branches/3.0.x/qa/apps/qa-regress/WEB-INF/src/remoting/session/FlexSessionAttribu teListenerTest.java
blazeds/branches/3.0.x/resources/config/messaging-config.xml

To use servlets u have indeed to update your web.xml...Well I'm not sure this is relevant to your case anyway.
You have to add a <servlet> element to this file.
Something like this:
<servlet>
<servlet-name>blabla</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>blablapackage.Blablaclass</servlet-class>
<init-param>...</init-param>
</servlet>
Now this may not solve your problem. Make sure you refer to your servlets using their full qualified names.btw, just to be sure, what is your definition of "servlet"? (i mean: any java class or only javax.servlet.Servlet)

• SAP-R/3 resource fails in CRM cluster instalation.

Hi.
We just install CRM 4.0 in a cluster, and everything was working perfectly, but at the moment that we increased the value for parameter PHYS_MEMSIZE, the SAP-R/3 resource did not work anymore.
At this moment we already check several notes and also we replaced some dll in the kernel, c:windowssystem32 and c:windowsSapCluster, but this resource still failed.
Does somebody know how to solve this issue?
Thanks
Jorge Ramírez C.

This issue was already solved.
The problem was at the moment that we import profile, this action cut a line of the profile file.
we had to use variables into the profile file in order to have a shorter line.
It was really curious, because if we tried to start the SAP instance without cluster service it worked perfectly.
Anyway now everything is working very well, thank you so much for your time.

• How do I turn off warning

I have a machine with a Sun Blade 2500 mohterboard in it. When I boot the machine, I receive a warning: Warning: Failed to open device(/pci@1e,600000/isa@7/i2c@0,320/gpio@0,30:pca9556_0), rv(6)
I believe the problem is caused because I have no sound cards or other audio devices attached. I also get warnings that the audiots0 is not working and cannot be configured.
What I would like to know is where do I go to stop the machine from looking for the above device. I have looked in /etc/rc areas but nothing jumps out at me. Neither is there anything in the printenv area.
Thanks for your time.
Stephen Keating

When you say "I have a machine with a Sun Blade 2500 mohterboard", I assume that it is a Blade 2500, if not correct me.
First a few questions:
1. What have you got in and connected to the system?
2. Have you always had this issue?
3. What changes have you made recently, new software, hardware, patches, etc?
4. At what stage of the boot do you see the message?
Now a few outputs that would be nice to see:
1. The /var/adm/messages file(s)
2. prtdiag -v
Now a few things that you might like to try:
1. Make sure that the system has been patched upto the latest levels, using the recomended patch cluster.
2. Make sure the system firmware(s) and OBP and up to date
3. Pass the server through diagnostics 2 or 3 times and see if any errors are shown.
4. Check the warranty on the system as you might have to or want to open a Sun Support case.

• Resource Conflict Warning (ACPI/NON-ACPI devices) while installing solaris

Hi,
I am trying to install Solaris 8 on my system.
Intel Celeron 1.7 Ghz
128 MB RAM
Gigabyte 8LD 533K Motherboard with Intel Chipset.
While installing, the second installation screen titled "Bus
Enumeration" gives the following warning.
Warning: Resource Conflict:
ACPI Device: PNP0C01.
Memory: (about 5 to 6 memory addresses in hexadecimal form are shown)
NON-ACPI Device: PNP0C01.
Memory: (about 5 to 6 memory addresses in hexadecimal form are shown,
which are different from the ones shown under the ACPI device list)
I ignored the message and pressed F2 key as suggested.
The next screen "Solaris Boot" comes and after choosing the CD (as
the target from which the OS is to be installed), The next screen
comes up asking me to chose the type of installation 1) Solaris
Interactive and 2) Jumpstart. No matter which option I choose, the
system shows 2-3 messages, and even before I can read them, the
system reboots. Thus I am unable to install Solaris.
I searched on Google and as one person had suggested tried tweaking
the BIOS. (Disable APM etc). But it did not work, because I don't
have an option that specifically gives the Disable/Enable option for
APM. I get the Advanced Power Management screen, but it shows some
different options.
I spoke about this problem with a friend who has some experience on
Solaris and he put the CD Drive and the Hard Disk on two different
buses, but it didn't help. I still get the same message.
I would be very grateful if someone could suggest a method so I can
install Solaris.
Regards,
pmu

The next screen comes up asking me to chose the type of installation 1) Solaris
Interactive and 2) Jumpstart. At this screen, type
b kadb -v
instead of choosing 1) or 2). Now you should be able to read the error messages from the kernel that
prevent booting into Solaris.

We don't want to get warning message during PO creation even though contract value exceeded.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for your quick resopnse. I had tried as per your suggestion.
Based on the message which I am getting and find that this message is trigeering from bbp_pd 560 and 561. Can you please confirm whether it is triggering from there or any different message.

• Resource Failover on Sun Cluster

Hi:
I am a newbie on Solaris Cluster (i have worked with VCS since 4 yeasr ago) and I am evaluating SC like an alternative to VCS.
I am testing in a two node cluster (SF v880 , 4 CPU's 16 Gb RAM). I have created a failover resource group with two resources:
- A logical hostname
- A HAStoragePlus resource (5 file systems)
I have enabled the monitoring and managing of the resource group. In order to test the switch of the resource group I have executed:
clresourcegroup switch -n xxxx app1_rg and works fine
If I reboot one server (witch resource group online) the resource group is realocated in the other member of the cluster.
I have found a problem (I suppose it sill be a configuration error) when I try to force a failure in the resources. By example If I umount all filesystems of the HAStoragePlus cluster doesn't detect this failure (the same when unplumb the network interface).
Could somebody help me with this?
Thanks in advance (I'm sorry because my bad English)

Hi,
It is not a configuration error, but a matter of expectations. The HAStoragePlus resource does not monitor the FS status, so the behaviour is as expected. This is not much of a problem, because an application probe will detect that the underlying FS is gon anyway. But becouse many people expressed the desire for a FS monitoring, there are discussions underway to implement one. But this is not available right now.
The network resource is different. Unplumbing is not a valid test to insert a network error. The Logical Host monitors the status of the underlying IPMP group, and unplumbing does not change that. If you want to test a network error, you have to physically remove the cables.
Cheers

• Resource Adapter deployment on cluster

Hi,
I have a weblogic cluster with 2 nodes and a load balancer. Recently I have deployed a database adapter to connect to a sql server database which is used by a service (OSB proxy service). The deployed was performed with both nodes running and I connected to the admin console using the LB IP. The deployed was done with successful and I have restarted both nodes. The cluster is configured with a stage mode in order to copy files from admin server.
When I call this service, it goes ok when node1 is used but not ok when node2 is used. It gives an JCA error accessing the sql server database. To solve this issue I had to copy the deployment plan file from node1 to node2 and reploy de dbadapter resource with node1 down in order to update the node2. I was expecting that these files were updated on both nodes whenever I deploy a resource adapter on admin console.
What am I doing wrong? Or what config should I check/update on admin console in order to avoid this manual task?
Thanks,
Regards,
António Amado

• Sharepoint 2007 - Turning off warning notification + additional check in/out information

Scenario:
Open file at 9am, leave open (to read) till 12p, then check out. Upon checking out, it will give you a warning to use the most current version. If the warning is ignored, the 9am version + whatever changes you will make will overwrite the newest version.
Is it possible to turn off this warning, and automatically have the most recent version checked out when checking out?
Also, is there a way to show what exact version was modified in the version history? For example:
No. Modified
Modified by
3.0 12/11/14 9:00am Person 3
2.0 12/11/14 8:00am Person 2
1.0 12/11/14 7:00am Person 1
In this particular situation, Person 3 opened the file to view perhaps around 7:30am. Person 2 as seen here, modified the file at 8:00am. Person 3 decided to check out the file around 8:45am, but for some reason or another, ignored the warning to use the most
current version (2.0). (Which is why I want to turn this notification/warning off)
So, when Person 3 modified the document, he/she was actually making changes to version (1.0).
Is there anyway to identify which version of the document was modified? For example, a tag such as "Person 3 modified version 1.0 at 9:00am."
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I would like to know if there is any update regarding to this issue.

• Failed to create resource - Error in Sun cluster 3.2

Hi All,
I have a 2 node cluster in place. When i trying to create a resource, i am getting following error.
Can anybody tell me why i am getting this. I have Sun Cluster 3.2 on Solaris 10.
I have created zpool called testpool.
clrs create -g test-rg -t SUNW.HAStoragePlus -p Zpools=testpool hasp-testpool-res
clrs: sun011:test011z - : no error

clrs: (C891200) Failed to create resource "hasp-testpool-res".
Regards
Kumar

Thorsten,
testpool created in one of the cluster nodes and is accessible from both the nodes in the cluster. But if it is imported in one node and will not be access from other node. If other node want to get access we need to export and import testpool in other node.
Storage LUNs allocated to testpool are accessible from all the nodes in the cluster and able import and export testpool from all the nodes in the cluster.

• Loading resources generates warning messages

Our application uses a number of resources stored in multiple +.properties+ files. These files are on the server machine and accessed by the Java client applet using Apache WebServer.
When any such resource file loads on the client, a number of warning messages are getting logged by Apache. So, for example, if the Java client applet is loading login.properties, Apache log would show:
File does not exist: /data/apache/htdocs/xaqpsprd/login.class
File does not exist: /data/apache/htdocs/xaqpsprd/login_en.class
File does not exist: /data/apache/htdocs/xaqpsprd/login_en.properties
File does not exist: /data/apache/htdocs/xaqpsprd/login_en_US.class
File does not exist: /data/apache/htdocs/xaqpsprd/login_en_US.properties
The application otherwise functions correct. Because of the volume of these warnings generated, they crowd out the real useful message in the Apache log file. So users are complaining and asking us to suppress them.
I am looking for a way to suppress these warnings and prevent them from showing in the Apache log.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Thanks for you suggestion. I had tried a similar idea as you suggested before. And the problem was partly addressed. The product I work on however support 13 languages. So I would need to create about 300 such dummy properties files for all the resource bundles-locale (en, en_US, etc) that product needs to support. That makes it unwieldy as you can imagine.
I have not been successful at bundling the files into a JAR. So I am looking for a way to suppress them completely so other way. *Does anyone know what the root cause of this warning is? I presume this is some kind of default JVM behavior where it looks for the the resource bundles in order of en_US, _en, etc*
Suggestions on suppressing that behavior?

• Oracle vm manager powered off: does the cluster work?

Hello,
I plan to build an ha cluster. But I would like to keep the Manager in a virtual machine on my workstation.

Does the cluster continue to work?
What does I miss when the manager is down?

Please elaborate.Oracle VM 3.0 supports two types of pool policies: DRS (Distributed Resource Scheduler) and DPM (Distributed Power Management). DRS attempts to balance the load across your pool by automatically live migrating guests when the load on a particular server gets too high while other servers are not heavily used. DPM attempts to reduce the power consumption of your pool by shutting down physical servers when it can fit all the currently running VMs onto less servers. More information can be found in the Oracle VM documentation:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26996_01/e18549/svrpool_policies.html
However, the load balancer mechanism for these policies runs on the Manager. Therefore, if the Manager is not running all the time, DRS/DPM will not work.
