SCXI-2000 chassis does not work.
Hi, I'm trying to configure my SCXI-2000 with a SCXI-1200 and SCXI-1121
modules. I read in the notes of NIDAQ, that I would have to reprogram that
chassis with the rscxi.dmg file. But the system just tell me that can't
reprogram the chassis. I'm using a remote system, with an RS-232 null cable
modem., windows 98 and version 6.0.1 of NI-daq.
Please I would be very grateful for any tips.
It's my final project in the university.
Thanks.

Jose,
Without looking into your problem too deeply, I would suggest visiting our
SCXI troubleshooting page, which can be found by following links through ni.com
>> support >> daq help >> scxi help .
The direct link is as follows; these pages are pretty robust with
install/config information:
http://www.ni.com/support/trouble/daq/scxi/

Installed Premiere Pro CS4 but video display does not work?
I just got my copy of CS$. After installing Premiere I found two things that seem very wrong:
1) video display does not work, not even the little playback viewer next to improted film clips located on the project / sequence window. Audio works fine.
2) the UI is way too slow for my big beefy system.
My pc is a dual boot Vista-32 and XP system with 4GB of memory installed and nvidia geforce 280 graphics board with plenty of GPU power. The CS4 is installed on the Vista-32 partition. My windows XP partition on the same PC with Premiere CS2 works great and real fast.
Any ideas how to solve this CS4 install issue?
RonI would like to thank Dan, Hunt, and Haram:
The problem is now very clear to me. The problem only shows up with video footage imported into PP CS4 encoded with "MS Video 1" codec. So this seems to be a bug. The codec is very clearly called out and supported within various menues but video with this codec just will not play in any monitor or preview window. In addition the entire product looks horrible with respect to performance while PP CS4 trys its best to play the video. Audio will start playing after about 30 seconds. And once in awhile part of video shows up at the wrong magnification before blanking out again.
My suggestion to the Adobe team: fix the bug and add some sample footage to the next release so new installations can test their systems with known footage.

Thinkpad Helix - Screen auto rotation does not work (Issue 3/3)
Hi,
I have installed a clean Windows 8.1 on the Helix and have several issues. Putting them into several threads so they can be answered independently.
The first thing I did after installing the system (and critical Windows Updates) was running the Lenovo System Update tool and downloading everything.
Screen rotation does not work. In “Device Manager” I can see “C5621 gw Mobile Broadband Geolocation Sensor” and “Hid Sensor Collection”. The HID one has an exclamation mark next to it. Are there some drivers I need to download to make this work. I did of course check if screen rotation is not locked – it is not (I did turn it on/off a couple of times, without any effect). Manual rotation (using display settings) works fine.
Thank you in advance for any help,
Łukasz
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi Lukasz,
Try, in device manager, right click on HID Sensor Collection then uninstall. Reboot, and see if the driver is loaded properly, if not click on scan for hardware changes.

Merge to HDR Pro does not work on Nikon D800 RAW (NEF) files
Hi,
I can't get Merge to HDR Pro to work on NEF RAW files from my Nikon D800 - nothing happens after after confirming the file selection. However, it works ok if I convert those files to DNG (using Lightroom 4), and if I use the D800's JPGs, and if I use Nikon D7000 NEFs. It just seems to be a problem with Nikon D800 NEFs.
Steps taken:
1. File -> Automate -> Merge to HDR Pro
2. Browse... and select NEF files (even selecting 2 files does not work).
3. Attempt to Automatically Align Source Images is checked. Then press OK.
Expected result:
Progress cursor spins as files are loaded and HDR dialog appears.
Actual result:
Nothing happens - no progress cursor or CPU or disk activity - it is as if I had clicked cancel instead of ok.
This is a clean install of the 64 bit CS6 beta on Windows 7 64 bit, with no plugins, and I reset preferences (Ctrl+Alt+Shift on startup). I do have my existing CS5 Extended still installed, as well as Lightroom 3.6 and 4.0.
I can send you the NEFs if you like.

The Ps CS6 public beta version contains the same camera support as found in Ps CS5/5.5 compatible CR 6.6. There will be future updates to CR 7 for Ps CS6 to pick up more camera support. The Nikon D800 NEF files are not supported, yet.
If you like to work with your D800 files in the public beta build now, you'll have to get the DNG Converter 6.7 from here: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/cameraraw6-7/
and convert your files to DNG.
regards,
steve -
IChat 4 AV does not work in Leopard
iChat 4 AV does not work in OS 10.5. iChat 3 worked in OS 10.4.x with no problems. Why the problem?
I have iMac G5 20-inch with 2.5-gb memory using Motorola SB5101 cable modem provided by ISP Roadrunner (Brighthouse Bakersfield CA).
I am relatively new to the Apple world (12 months switching from the dark side). I am not a hardware-software engineer. Read discussions, and tried a few things to no avail; eg, no where to set port settings on cable modem.
It appears most people paid for something that does not work. So, now what? Is Apple working on a fix? If so, any idea when it will be released?Got similar problems. Interesting, I can chat with Test Buddies but not to real buddies. Here is the error message:

Report generation toolkit does not work
Hello,
The report generation toolkit does not work.
It seems to point to the 'Generate Report Data Members.ctl'.
I suppose it has something to do with the wrong set of active X-controls ?
I work with Win 2000 and Office XP
How can i solve this problem ?
Thanks in advance !
Regards
ChristineHello Julien,
Sorry for the late answer
I become a broken arrow, when openening the example Sample Report (Excel).vi
Searching further for the cause of the error it brings me to the sub vi tables.

Christine

What error message if any did you get? It could be a couple things:
1. Did you include the Report Toolkit's dynamic vis in the app's build process?
Ref: Error 7 when Running an .EXE Using VIs from Report Generation Toolkit for MS Office
2. How are you giving the path to you custom template, as a relative or an absolute path? The path will be different for the .exe. You have to strip twice.

Focus under Win2k does not work correctly
Hi,
we've found out that the focus does not work correctly under Windows 2000 in
Seamless Mode (App is a Windows Application running on Windows Terminal Server
2003), the same application has no problems under Windows XP, Apple Macintosh
and Linux.
Example: The application has a button which pop's up a small calendar window
giving that window focus. In Tarantella under Win2k however you just see the
window popping up shortly and then going in the background. As the window is in
the background and you can't get the window back and you also cannot work
further in that application as the rest is inactive.
Only way is to do a right-click on the application in the taskbar, which brings
the window in the foreground again. What makes this problem even harder to
analyze is, that it sometimes even works correctly (around 3 of 10 times).
We've mostly recognized this with modal windows. The native client does not have
this problem, however as far as I know it does not support seamless mode.
2. The second problem we got is, that if you click with the mouse into the
initializing Window while the application starts up after you have clicked on an
application Link in SGD (I mean the Pre-Login window of Windows which shortly
shows up just before the Login Process begins),
the application is not started seamlessly but is started within that window and
you have no chance but closing an restarting the application to get it in
seamless mode. This is seen on all Client Operating Systems by us and not only
Windows 2000.
The Client runs:
Windows 2000 SP4 all updates installed
Java: 1.5.0-5
Browser: IE6.0 and Firefox 1.0.7
Server: Windows 2003 Terminal Server (all updates installed)
Tarantella: 4.20.909
I hope that someone has at least a workaround.
Regards
CarstenI have organized some testcases attached are 3 Test Programs which work
nice natively but got these problems under Tarantella under every Windows
Operating System (the error is not Windows 2000 as I previously mentioned but
also occurs on Windows XP).
The interesting thing is that the Test Program made with .NET does not show this
problem.
Could someone please test these and tell if this error is reproducible on your
systems as well ?
Run these Testprograms natively, they show no misbehavior.
Execute this from a SGD Webtop Session in Seamless Mode, see that
the Modal window is not modal but shifts into the background on every 2 -3 click.
Regards
Carsten

OLE DB Connection Build does not work
Hello All!
I am in the process of creating an ASP.NET application that
will initially have an Access database for test purposes on my
laptop computer. Eventually the database will be MS SQL. When I
select OLE DB Connection -> Build it does not work. I have
already tried the "fix" in
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19515
and it did not work.
I have also tried MS Access 2000 template and it does not
work. At this point there is no User ID or Password to this
database. Here is what is in the web.config file:
<configuration>
<appSettings>
<add key="MM_CONNECTION_HANDLER_ctv"
value="default_oledb.htm" />
<add key="MM_CONNECTION_STRING_ctv"
value="Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data
ource=C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\CTV1_1\database\ctv.mdb;User
ID=;Password=;" />
<add key="MM_CONNECTION_DATABASETYPE_ctv" value="OleDb"
/>
<add key="MM_CONNECTION_SCHEMA_ctv" value="" />
<add key="MM_CONNECTION_CATALOG_ctv" value="" />
</appSettings>
</configuration>
I have installed IIS on the laptop along with .NET framework
2.0 - maybe there is an install issue?
I am using DreamWeaver MX 2004 with MS XP SP2 if that gives
any further clues.
Thanks for any help you can give!
Lisa

ISO 7 move and scale photos for wallpaper does not work
Move and scale photos does not work when using photos as wall paper
What a nightmare! Had I known what was in store for me, I would never have updated my iPAD Mini to iOS7.
The calendar with it's ultra-thin Helvetica is near impossible to see. To add insult to injury, not being able
to move and size a wallpaper photo is just totally unacceptable. So annoying when software is thrown out
there for the general public when it's obviously not ready. I tried the solution:
Go to Settings > General > Assessibility > Reduce Motion "set to OFF"
Next, in Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness > Choose Wallpaper (pick the wallpaper) - you should now be able to "Move and Scale" the photo that you've chosen for your wallpaper.
After you've SET the wallpaper, you can go back to Parallax motion by turning Reduce Motion to "ON" (see step 1)
And it just DOES NOT WORK. Plain and simple. I am so tired of Apple products that have bugs that we are all expected to work through and work out while paying anywhere from $500 to $2000 for a product. And of course you can't get online support in a quick, efficient manner. My big old $600 bite out the Apple is tasting mighty sour at the moment. -
Hello,
after trying unsuccessfully for several hours to get WLEC to work on
WLS 5.1, I think I might ask this group.
It simply does not work.
I have installed the latest service pack (6) and I'm now trying to
install the WLEC version included therein. I've merged the files from
wlec_classes.jar (some classes in the package
com.beasys.CORBA.pool.weblogic) into the $WLS_HOME/classes tree,
copied the files wleorb.jar and wlepool.jar to $WLS_HOME/lib and added
them to the appropriate class paths as described in the
README_wlec.txt file that comes with WLEC. WLS is started as follows:
/opt/JAVA/JDK/1.2.2/bin/java -ms64m -mx64m -classpath ./lib/weblogic510sp6boot.jar:./lib/wleorb.jar:./classes/boot:./eval/cloudscape/lib/cloudscape.jar -Dweblogic.class.path=./lib/weblogic510sp6.jar:./lib/wlepool.jar:./license:./classes:./lib/weblogicaux.jar:./myserver/serverclasses -Dweblogic.home=. -Djava.security.manager -Djava.security.policy=$WLSHOME/weblogic.policy -Dweblogic.system.name=myserver -Djava.naming.ldap.version=2 weblogic.Server
(README_wlec.txt does not document the order in which the jar files
should appear in the class paths..?)
Furthermore, I've defined an IIOP connection pool in
weblogic.properties like this:
weblogic.CORBA.connectionPool.myIIOPConnectionPool=\
appaddrlist=//wlehost:3800,\
failoverlist=//wlehost:3800,\
minpoolsize=4,\
maxpoolsize=7,\
domainname=test
A WLE 5.1 instance is waiting for IIOP connections at wlehost:3800,
providing the WLE domain "test".
WLS starts up and functions flawlessly, but the IIOP connection pool
doesn't show up in the WebLogic Console (the "IIOP Connection Pool
Manager" branch is missing completely). An attempt to connect to the
pool with the following code:
com.beasys.Tobj_Bootstrap tBootstrap
= com.beasys.BootstrapFactory.getClientContext("myIIOPConnectionPool")
results in a NullPointerException in getClientContext.
I can connect to the running WLE server directly, bypassing the pool,
like this:
String[] args = new String[0];
org.omg.CORBA.ORB tOrb = org.omg.CORBA.ORB.init(args, null);
com.beasys.Tobj_Bootstrap tBootstrap
= new com.beasys.Tobj_Bootstrap(tOrb,"//wlehost:3800");
This works, which proves that WLE is not the problem, right?
The java version is:
$ /opt/JAVA/JDK/1.2.2/bin/java -version
java version "1.2.2"
Classic VM (build JDK-1.2.2_006, green threads, sunwjit)
$
(I've tried 1.3, too)
running on:
$ uname -a
SunOS bird 5.8 Generic_108528-01 sun4u sparc
$
WLE runs on:
wlehost:~$ uname -a
AIX wlehost 3 4 002013145700
wlehost:~$
What might be the problem here?
Thanks,
Olaf

for any connection pool errors?Yes I have. I've searched (case-insensitively) for "iiop" and the
hostname of the host running WLE ("wlehost"), and there was always
only one log entry per WLS session:
Mon Dec 04 16:36:50 CET 2000:<I> <Config> Property name: 'weblogic.CORBA.connectionPool', current value: '[weblogic.CORBA.connectionPool.myIIOPConnectionPool=appaddrlist=//wlehost:3800,failoverlist=//wlehost:3800,minpoolsize=4,maxpoolsize=7,domainname=test ]'
This seems to be a generic notification that the property was read and
that the property name
"weblogic.CORBA.connectionPool.myIIOPConnectionPool" was recognized
(otherwise there would have been an "undeclared property" error
message, right?).
How would a log message look which notifies the user that an IIOP
conection pool has been set up successfully?
When I delete or rename the file wleorb.jar or remove it from the
classpath, I get the following exception when WLS boots:
Tue Dec 05 15:42:11 CET 2000:<E> <WebLogicServer> Failed startup on com.beasys.CORBA.pool.weblogic.PoolStartUp

at weblogic.Server.main(Server.java:55)
(note the spelling mistake ("callPoolStartupMehtod"). Could this be
part of the problem?)
When I remove the connection pool entry from weblogic.properties, the
exception disappears.
I examined the file $WLS_HOME/myserver/weblogic.log as well as the
standard output and standard error of the WLS process. Are there any
other places to look at?
I'm still suspecting the order in which the JAR files appear in my
system class path and weblogic class path. As pointed out in my
previous posting, the order is as follows:
system class path:
./lib/weblogic510sp6boot.jar:./lib/wleorb.jar:./classes/boot:./eval/cloudscape/lib/cloudscape.jar
weblogic.class.path:
./lib/weblogic510sp6.jar:./lib/wlepool.jar:./license:./classes:./lib/weblogicaux.jar:./myserver/serverclasses
Is anything wrong with that? I could try out all permutations, but
that would take a while....
Could anybody post the class paths of a WLS configuration with a
working WLEC?
Thank you,
Olaf

Attempting to run an SCXI-2000 chassis over the serial port to a Mac.
I was told that this is not supported by NI. Can this be done using register level programming or some other method. The reason for serial communication is due to the distance requirement of roughly 300 feet. The mac RS-422 serial interface is cabable of this. Is there another solution out there Using a mac and an SCXI chassis over long distances. Remotely talking(wireless or ethernet) to a local computer near the experiment and using a DAQ Card interface to the SCXI chassis is not ideal solution.
Unfortunately, to communicate with an SCXI chassis via Serial port on the Macintosh would require that a driver for the SCXI 1200 and SCXI 2000 chassis be written. To write such a driver would not only require register level programming, but a thorough understanding of the SCXI hardware, some of which information might not be available in manuals and such. Because of this I don't think it would be feasible to use the SCXI 2000 chassis on a Mac.
I tried to think of other approaches, but the only alternatives I could think of were to use a Windows Machine with the SCXI 2000 or to put one Mac near the equipment, as you mentioned previously.
