  • Droid incredible 2: phone says that i need to insert an sd card

Ever since I got my replacement phone whenever I open up my camera or photos my phone will say that I need to insert an SD card. Problem is that I already put in my SD card so I've no idea why it's asking for it. Anyone know what's up with my phone?

    I have gotten this to.
My theory is that is has something to do with the fact the my SD card came from a Fascinate and now I am using it in a Droid Incredible 2 and there may be some compatiability issues.
When I get that message, I do one of two things....restart the phone or pull the SD card and re-insert. One of them usually works and I have no issues after that.
My fear is that the correct solution is to reformat the SD card which would wipe it clean and I do not want to do that.
Yes, it's certainly possible that the card should be reformatted.   But can you read it in a computer?   If so, I would just copy all the contents off, reformat in the DINC2, then put the card in the computer and copy the contents back.

  • Droid Incredible SD Card Specs

Does the Droid Incredible utilize a Class 2 or Class 4 SD card? I just had my Sandisk 8gb card die on me (it was automatically removed from my phone). I have tried to load the SD card on mac and Windows platforms, but it isn't readable.
I am looking to buy a new one, but I want to ensure I am purchasing the correct type of SD card. I would prefer to not buy another Sandisk--any suggestions?
Also, has anyone heard anything regarding the 32gb causing issues? Or does any gb SD card work ok?

I have the full 206-page PDF of the HTC User Guide open here and page 202 full specs list verifies SD 2.0 compatible for the MicroSD expansion.
If you want an alternative to SanDisk I would look at PNY, Kingston, or Lexar.
Never tried a 32GB card so I cannot speak to that personally but the issue they had initially was where you could not properly format the 32GB card on the phone and to format it with computer first...Google admitted this was an issue.  Not sure if that has since been resolved.  Perhaps another user can expand upon that.

  • How can I get music I purchased though Amazon on my Android device(droid incredible) to my IPad 2 without using a computer?

I just got an iPad 2 a couple months ago, and I'm very eager to get my music collection purchased from Amazon to my device. I have had to get a replacement droid incredible and lost my login information for both my email and my amazon account. I have the music files stored on the SD card on my phone. I have the basic iPad 2, 16 GB, wifi, no 3G. I got an iPad to essentially replace my computer since it can't hold a charge anymore. I am almost due for an update with Verizon, so I would like to get an IPhone. However if I can't transfer my 100s of dollars worth of music, I'll have to suck it up and stick with android and be unable to have more than the 3 songs I have on my iPad.
If any one can help It would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds as if you have a computer but it won't hold a charge. Does it not work if it's plugged in at home? If so, you can simply transfer the music to your computer at home. You can either do this by connecting your Incredible to the computer and dragging the music from the SD card to iTunes or, you can contact Amazon and get your password reset and just download the music.

  • Droid Incredible 2 won't turn on or charge.

I have had this problem before, right after I got the DINC2. Yesterday, I wanted to take out my memory card to save pictures on my computer via a usb card reader. I turned my phone off by pressing the power button and selecting power off. I removed my battery, and then removed the memory card. After transferring my pictures, I placed the memory card back in the DINC2, and placed the battery and cover back on the device. I pushed the power button, and NOTHING. The phone won't turn on. I plugged it in to the charger, and the amber light won't even come on. I thought it might be the charger, so I used the USB cord attached to the computer, and still no charging light. I have removed the battery overnight, and just let it set. When I reinstalled the battery this morning, still nothing. The charging light does not come on, and I can't power up the device.
I had this problem before. I had let the battery run down to nothing and the device powered itself off. Same scenario, the charge light would not come on when plugged into the charger, and I couldn't power up the device. I left the battery out overnight, and the next morning the device still wouldn't power on. I placed the phone in my car, and plugged in my car charger. After a few minutes, the amber light came on, and I was able to power up the device. This, however, did not work this time. Nothing I try helps.
Is this a common problem? How should I go about getting this resolved?
      Thanks,
      Brian

    Hi Brian,
It must be frustrating not being able to power your phone on. I checked my resources and this is not noted as a known issue with the Droid Incredible 2. Since you are not able to power on the phone, there is nothing we can troubleshoot by phone. I recommend to bring your device to a Verizon Wireless store for a hands on evaluation. You can find a Verizon Wireless store near you by entering your ZIP code at vzw.com/storelocator online.

  • Connecting my Droid Incredible to my laptop

I am trying to get my Droid Incredible to connect to my laptop so I can pull the pictures off of the phone and SD card but I cant get my laptop to recognize my phone is connected.  I tried downloading the VCast Media Manager but that doesnt help.  My phone shows up on the left side of the screen for a second then disappears.  If I go into file manager within windows it doesnt show my phone is connected either even though the screen on my phone says its connected via the USB symbol and mounted as a disk drive.  Can someone please help me figure this out?

Thank you to demmo86rt and budone for your contributions.  I have provided additional instructions from page 44-47 of your owner’s manual on how to connect your phone to you laptop computer.  I have also provided a link below that will take you directly to your online manual.
    http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/index.html?p=5269&m
Connecting your phone to a computer
Whenever you connect your phone to a computer using the USB cable, the Connect to PC dialog box displays and prompts you to choose the type of USB connection. Select one of the following choices, and then tap Done:
    Charge only
Select this mode if you only want to charge the phone’s battery using your computer.
    HTC Sync
When selected, the phone automatically uses HTC Sync when connected to your computer and lets you synchronize Outlook and Windows Address Book (Outlook Express), contacts and calendar events between your computer and your phone. For more information, see “Using HTC Sync” in the Accounts and sync chapter.
    Disk drive
This mode is available only when you have installed a microSD card on your phone. Select this mode when you want to use your storage card as a USB thumb drive, and copy files between your phone’s storage card and your computer.
When Disk Drive mode is enabled while your phone is connected to the computer, you will not be able to run applications that use the storage card, such as Music or Gallery. For more information, see “Copying files to and from the storage card” in this chapter.
    Mobile Broadband Connect
When you do not have Internet connection on your computer, you can select this mode to share your phone’s mobile data connection with your computer. For more information, see “Using Your Phone as a Modem” in the Internet chapter.
If you do not want to show the Connect to PC dialog box everytime you connect the phone to the computer, select the Don’t ask me again checkbox in the Connect to PC dialog box. The default connection type will be used when you connect the phone to the computer.
To check or change the default connection type and to show or hide the Connect to PC dialog box, press HOME > MENU, and then tap Settings > Connect to PC.
Copying files to and from the storage card
Connect the phone to your computer using the supplied USB cable.
When the Connect to PC dialog box appears, tap Disk drive, and then tap Done.
On your computer, the connected phone is recognized as a removable disk. Navigate to this removable disk and open it.
    Do one of the following:
Copy the files from the computer to the phone’s storage card’s root folder.
Copy the files from the phone’s storage card to a folder in your computer or computer desktop.
    5. After copying the files, unmount the removable disk (that is, the connected phone) as required by your computer’s operating system to safely remove your phone.
    6. Do one of the following:
Disconnect the phone from the computer.
If you want to keep the phone connected to the computer but want the phone to be able to access the storage card, open the Notifications panel, tap Disk drive, select an option except Disk drive, and then tap Done. See “Opening the Notifications panel” in this chapter to learn how to open the Notifications panel.

  • Uploading Video from Droid Incredible to Computer ??

I've had the Droid Incredible for a little over a month now (my first smartphone).     I have tried several different things but nothing seems to work.
Can someone please explain to me (step by step) how to upload videos from my phone to my computer?    Thanks!!

    @EmsMom,
Step 1: Connect your phone using the usb cable to your computer.
Step 2: On the phone, select Menu--> Notifications
Step 3: Click on Charge Only option in the notifications. This will bring up the Connect to PC screen.
Step 4: Select Disk Drive and click done.
Step 5: On your computer, you will now have one or two new drives apprear (similar to when you would plug in an external usb stick). You will see only one drive if you dont have a microSD card inserted, otherwise it will be two drives.
Step 6: You will find all your videos in either of the drives (depending on where you store your videos. By default the Camcorder app is configured to store it on the Phone Storage) Either ways, look under both drives at the following path:
driveletter:\dcim\100media.... (your videos and photos get stored here if you use the default camera and camcorder app)
Step 7: Simply copy the files and place them wherever you want them on your PC! That's it! You can then decide if you still want to keep them on the phone or delete them.
    Hope this helps!

  • Browsers, some apps keep quitting on Droid Incredible. Ideas before I reset phone?

In the last month or so, my Droid Incredible has developed a really annoying problem. My full-featured web browsers (including Dolphin HD, and the stock "internet") won't run. They quit seconds after launched.
Is anyone else seeing this problem? Know what's causing it? I know app conflicts can be very user-specific, but ya never know...
Opera Mini runs reliably, and Dolphin mini runs sometimes (but quits more often than it runs). So I am able to browse the web. But Opera Mini doesn't support "share page" functionality (via e-mail, bookmarklets, etc.), which is something I rely on heavily and am no longer willing to do without on a phone I'm paying $110/month for.
In addition, some apps I really like (including AppBrain and Shazam) also are quitting seconds after launch.
I've uninstalled all apps that I'm not using. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Dolphin HD and Mini, as well as the other apps that have ceased running. I've done the battery pull twice, and have also cleared the cache on most of my apps. I deleted a bunch of media files to free up space. No dice.
I'm at the point where I'm going to have to start uninstalling the apps that I'm using. I'm very reluctant to do this, since I just had to go through this tedious exercise a couple of months ago to correct a different problem. And if it is an app conflict, then I'm wondering whether backing up the apps to the SD card, resetting the phone, and restoring them would solve the problem. I mean, if I'm restoring the same apps, wouldn't it be likely that I'd have the same conflict problem?
My phone is not rooted, and I don't want to root it.
Can anyone suggest something else I might do short of uninstalling all my apps and doing a factory reset to try to fix this problem?
    Thanks.

I have the same exact problem, I pretty much can't even use my internet function with this phone. it always freezes and quits in the middle of anything. I'm kind of thinking it's a glitch with this phone unfortunately, I have a few friends who also have the same bad droid luck with the internet or any applications running properly. I'm wondering if a few of the phones just need to be re-called with the Droid HTC Incredible model. I'm paying for the internet service and wish I was just back to my simple LG phone with the 39.99 a month bill, that's about the quality of service I'm getting.
I wish I had better information for you, but I guess you can just re-set and delete all your applications over and over again like Verizon suggests. I'm tired and don't want to even bother at this point.  I want my money back for the internet service I don't get, very bummed indeed...

  • Droid Incredible 2 Speakers ...

Has anyone found that using the speaker mode on the phone pretty much makes it easier for you to hear the conversation, but makes it almost impossible for the person on the other end of the conversation to understand you?
That seems common for me, my Droid Incredible 2, and .
    Perhaps mine is a lemon?
    -Brian

quite frankly, it sounds bad. do you store everything on the phone's internal memory? you don't have an sd card? i REALLY hope they can help you. however, (and i know this doesn't help you now) in the future, if you go into the camera settings, you can have all of your pics saved to the sd card. also, you can either sync your account with google or backup assistant (you may have your contacts in one of these places already, and didn't even realize it). if you have been using the sd card for all of this, then there is nothing to worry about, as a factory reset will only wipe the phone. it does not wipe the sd card. if you have been using an sd card, take it out now. you can at least salvage whatever is on it.

  • How do you transfer pictures from a droid incredible to a macbook pro?

How do you transfer pictures taken on my droid incredible to my MacBook Pro? When I plug the phone into the computer using the usb port I get a message saying--"The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer." Any help would be apppreciated.

Is the phone set to be used as a Mas Storage Device? Check the phone settings. If it is then the SD card should read as a FAT32 device and any computer that can read FAT32 formatted drives. which all computers I know about, will be able to read the files on it.

  • Solution to the Droid Incredible frequently shutting itself off?

As with many other posters I was perfectly content with my droid incredible until recently. Now it just shuts itself off whenever it feels like it (while I'm on the phone or when its just sitting on my desk, etc). This past week my once or twice a day shut off has picked up to 5-6 times a day. I can't tell you how many times I've tried factory resets or changing out my battery or any other solution you can imagine to no avail. I'm desperately seeking any advice on fixes to this solution.
    Thanks in advance!

I'd like to give some advise if you have taken the time to do a master reset already. There are really only 2 other things I can think of aside from replacing the device.  One thing I would like to make clear before trying the troubleshooting steps below is ensure that your issue is not caused by an application. I don't know how many customers have done a master reset and then immediately have redownloaded all of their apps.  The issues immediately came back which isn't surprising if the issue is caused by an app.
    1) Remove the SD card from you device. The phone may be trying to access files that have been corrupted and is glitching out because of this. If you find there is a problem with your SD card, I suggest backing up any pertinent info on a computer and formatting the SD card. Do the same for phone storage memory too.
    2) Ensure your software is up to date. The current software information can be found here: Incredible Software Update.
If none of the above has resolved your problem, I recommend contacting the Warranty Center at 866-406-5154 or DM me with your name and number. I'll call you as soon as possible.

  • Manually Install Froyo 2.2 on Droid Incredible

    Hello all!
Didn't get your update OTA yet? Do it yourself!
How to Manually Install Android 2.2 Froyo On Your Verizon Droid Incredible
I just did it and it was easy! Enjoy

Ok... so for those few on this thread who have installed it... I have a couple of newbie questions.
    1.  How do you know you have the 2.2 update?  The only thing I can think of is to go into the camera and check for the 720p thing.
Go to menu -> settings -> about phone -> software // That'll give you the version
    2.  What all did you get on the update?  Hotspot?  720p HD video capability?  What?  Anything else?
Pretty icons, city ID that never stops, Skype mobile whether you want it or not, the ability to rotate the screen to the right now instead of just the left. Seriously, not a lot. Definitely nothing for people to ose sleep over. *edit** I forgot one important thing - I hear that it also enables bluetooth voice dialing. I haven't tried it yet. If this is true, then I would say that the update gets a definite +1. This is a feature that, even though I rarely need it, should be standard on every phone in existence.
    3.  What exactly is the "root" folder it talks about when doing it manually?  And is it safe to do it this way?  Especially off of some site.
The root of the SDcard just means to put the downloaded file on your sd card, but NOT in a folder. Just drop it on there, all by it's lonesome. It has nothing to do with "rooting" your phone, in case you were curious. That's an entirely different animal.
Hope that helps a bit! Enjoy.
Sorry for the newbie questions.  Your help is appreciated.

  • HTC droid incredible compatibility

I have a HTC Droid incredible 4G LTE with no Sim card in it.  Was wondering if I get a version Sim card I can use it for prepaid Verizon service or if I have to get a normal plan?

You should be able to use it on the Verizon prepaid ALLSET plans for smartphones.

  • Droid Incredible keeps deleting all of my photos.

My Droid Incredible keeps deleting my photos. Every time I take a picture, a little later it will be deleted. What should I do to stop this from happening? Thanks.

Last time I checked with customer care/tech support, they weren't able to tell me why.
Mine did the same thing a few times last year.
I got my CPO Incredible around Feb 2011, set my photos to be saved to the SD card, and a few weeks later I noticed pictures of my kids had been replaced by gray or black boxes. Every time I called customer care, I was told to do a factory restore. The first time it happened, the rep led me through the steps but forgot to remind me to back up my data so my remaining pics were lost I didn't think about it at the time either because I just wanted to know why pictures I'd taken of my children were disappearing. I thought it was an issue with the card so I removed it, but the same thing continued to happen.
After about the 5th time of reporting this problem and restoring my device, I gave up and made sure I uploaded my pics on my computer every week. Customer service wasn't even trying to offer another solution other than restoring my phone.
In November, I got a replacement device from asurion after my original Incredible's screen cracked; I'm used the same 4gb microSD card up until last week when I got a 16gb- so far, I haven't noticed any missing photos. Then again, I don't use the camera on this device much after the issues with my first one.

  • Droid Incredible - Terrible Phone

I'm really sad to say that the Droid Incredible has turned out to be a terrible phone.  I loved it for almost 18 months, then I started having "problems".  The problems I have been having started with the Google Navigation several months ago - this was my favorite feature of the phone.  The phone shut down in the middle of navigation when I was a few turns from my destination.  From there it has gotten steadily worse.  I took it to the Verizon store a the beginning of December when it went into a reboot loop - i.e. it shut down, then rebooted to the "eye" screen, then shut down again and went on an endless loop.  The nice people at the store did a factory reset for me.  At the time I did not know this was a common problem with Droid Incredible.  Now I know and have lost count of the number of factory resets I have done on the phone since early December - probably 8-10.  I just did another one today.  My phone has been usable for about 15 of the last 24 hours, but now my texting feature doesn't work at all.  That is a new development in the failures of this phone.  I have not used navigation in about 2 months because it reliably shuts my phone down.  Yesterday the simple Google directions feature made my phone shut down, again just a few turns from my destination.  Since early December I have probably had to reboot/restart my phone 30 or so times due to reboot loop.  When this does not work, I do some kind of cache partition clearing, and when that does not work is when I have to do factory reset.  I have searched these forums and see that the only recommendations Verizon has are to buy a new phone, buy a refurbished phone or next time buy insurance.  This is the first time in about 10 years I have been truly disappointed by Verizon.  The worst is when my phone is in a loop and nothing helps, I try to go online for support, but I can't get email support for that problem, they say I must call.  I CAN NOT CALL FROM A BROKEN PHONE.  I am planning on upgrading to the iPhone, but my full upgrade is not due until late April.  I am trying to trudge through with this terrible phone until then, but it is becoming nearly impossible.  It is simply unacceptable for a device that is supposed to be a contender to the highest rated smart phones to behave this way with no support and that the device does not last even a full 2 years.  I do realize that this is mostly an HTC issue, not a Verizon issue, but that doesn't make me any less frustrated.  It is also suspcious that there are no other posts on these issues here.  I guess that would be bad for business.  I am not a complainer, very seldom do I complain, but these major problems seem like they are being ignored or swept under the rug.

I agree with you100%. I got this phone from my grandmother because she recently upgraded to the bionic. when i got the phone the sd card was fine. it showed pictures well, i could unmount the card and everything was ok. well i put my sd card in, pictures came up fine. well, i had to do an update and the card wouldn't read anymore. so i called ts and they troubleshot the phone. factory reset idk how many times. they sent another one. same thing. seems like after the update it wouldn't work. i have went thru three of those phones and i have this phone. oh did i mention that the sd card that came out of the phone and the one i was using worked in any other droid, multi-media phone, computer, whatever I put it in.
