SD card locks up computer

I discovered my SD drive and purchased a 2GB sandisk.  It worked fine until I tried to read the disk in a newer computer which could not see the data on the card.
I looked at the card in the Toshiba and the data was there.  Sandisk said to format in fat32 mode.  I did and the card worked in the new computer.
Placed the 2GB card in the Toshiba and it promptly locked up the computer.  Rebooted and did a system restore.
Placed a 512 MB card in the Toshiba and it brings up the data and locks up the computer.
What is causing the computer to lockup when it has a memory card installed?

Are you using an adapter?. If you are,  try another adapter. If not, reinstall the driver. Uninstall it under disc drives in device manager then scan for hardware changes or restart the computer.

    If you enter your password on the ipad too many times and your sim card locks, is there a way of recovery without replacing the sim card?

    That doesn't lock the SIM card, it just locks you out of the device.
    If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

  • SD Card locked

    I can not take a new photo nor video...If I try and delete any old picture, it tells me my SD card is locked.  Is there a way to clear the SD card without losing everything?  This is so baffling...my old cheap flip phone took lots of pic's without all this drama.
    HELP

    Sounds like you may have activated or installed a app that has locked the card...  This thread has a solution listed to resolve this, check it out at http://androidforums.com/motorola-devour/202929-sd-card-locked.html.

  • E71 miniSD card lock function

    Hi all,
    Quick question, if I enable the miniSD card lock function in my phoone, then wehen I remove the card I know that it is locked (because I cannot read it from a card reader) and only after putting back in my phone will it read the card. However, is there a way to unlock the card or turn this off?
    This is because I remove the card and use a card reader to put movies, songs, files, etc on my card and then put back into my phone to use but I am unable to unlock the card after I remove it from my phone and I am unable to deactivate this lock within my phone? Is this possible or do I just dont know how to deactive this lock from my phone?
    Much thanks

    Just go the Memory Card application and remove the password; when you have finished using the card on your computer, just use the Memory Card applicationto apply a password...

    use a computer (card reader) to save your data from the memory card, and then format it with a computer. put it back to your phone and you can use it again.

  • Want to add Video and Graphic Card to my computer system

    I Notice that one of the users' in the Apple discussion Board is Listed, (AndyO) he has help me many times in the Past and was succesful in my problrm solution, would he might be able to help me with this?
    I had Purchased the Game Spore Creature Creator the Starter Kit which is just the Creature creator game and not the actual game itself. I wasn't able to install the the game on my computer because I don't have the right or not at all Video and Graphic Card install on my computer. I had Contacted the Company "EA" that puts out the Game Spore, this is what they said what the game requirements are: The minimum system requirements for Spore and Spore the Galactic Edition for Mac are as follows:
    * Mac OS X 10.5.3 Leopard or higher
    * Intel Core Duo Processor
    * 1024 MB RAM
    * At least 345 MB of hard drive space for installation, plus additional space for created creatures. (260 MB for the Trial Edition)
    * Video Card - ATI X1600 or NVidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100
    This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems (PowerMac).
    For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least: an Intel Integrated Chipset GMA X3100 or Dual 2.0GHz CPUs, or 1.7GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent
    Supported Video Cards
    ATI Radeon(TM) series
    * X1600, X1900, HD 2400, HD 2600
    NVIDIA GeForce series
    * 7300, 7600, 8600, 8800
    Intel(R) Extreme Graphics
    * GMA X3100
    and that I need to upgrade my system. Basically I need; ATI Radeon 1600 or NVIDIA Geforce 7300 and a INTEL Extreme Graphic Video Card-GMA X3100, in order to be able to install and play this game. Since I already have this game, I would like to be able to upgrade my computer system which brings me to ask; does somone know or refer me to a web site that has and sells these Video and Graphic Card and supports for the Mini Mac?
    Plus they say that I need a 1020 of MB of Ram, I Have already found that 1024 MB of Ram but I just need those Video and Graphic Cards for my computer system. I am adding my computer system Profile to my discussion board to show you what I have on my system, would you be able to tell me if I would be able to add these Video and Graphic card and the memory or Ram 1024 to my computer system?
    Note: Here is a web site that I am looking at to add the 1024 MB of Ram to my computer system:

    Hi Trisha,
    The only modern Mac's with video cards are the Mac Pro and Xserve (server) systems. They both are priced quite a bit higher than any Mac Mini.
    Some systems, like the Mac Book Pro laptop can be ordered with different graphics cards, but that has be done when the system is built, as it is not replaceable once the system is built. To find out which systems, go to store.apple.com. For each system that you select, you can see if there's an option for a better video card.

  • I redeemed my gift card on one computer, how do I transfer the balance to another?

    I redeemed my gift card on one computer, but when I try to by music on my other computer, it asks for my credit card information. So I am guessing I need to some how transfer the balance on the card to the other computer? I assumed it would be there on both since it is the same account on both?
    Anyone have ideas?

    A couple of questions for you...
    Did you get an email confirming the card had been successfully redeemed?  Is it possible you've changed iTunes store since you redeemed the gift card?  The gift card can only be used within the iTunes store it was purchased / redeemed.  If you're still in the same store, then try logging out of your iTunes account and logging back in.  That should reset the balance.
    The balance should be visible when you're browsing within the store (on the bar towards the top of the screen on the right hand side - next to the ID you've logged in to the store with.
    If you're still not happy with the results, the iTunes Store Billing support staff will be able to give you a definitive answer on your account balance.  I don't know where you are, so here are links to the US and UK support pages:

  • How to lock my computer while playing a video?

    I am setting up my MacBook up to loop a video to leave playing at a booth for a convention, and was wondering if I play a video if there was a way to lock the computer up so no one can quit the video or surf the web or anything like that?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Maximum number of PCI-6602 cards in 1 computer?

    Is it possible to have 4 PCI-6602 cards in 1 computer?
    Are there any DMA channels or IRQ limitations we need
    to worry about?
    Our computer will have 1 graphics card in the AGP slot,
    possibly a PCI NIC ethernet card and possibly a PCI
    based sound card. It will also have an IDE controller
    with 2 hard drives and 1 CDRW.
    The PCI-6602 manual seems to imply that if you are
    using more than 3 counter channels that you must
    use the slower Interrupt based transfer mode which
    has a maximum transfer rate specified as 2000
    Reading/second. If there are 4 PCI-6602 boards in
    the same computer and all 8 of the channels are
    used on each board does that mean the total
    transfer rate is still 2000 Readings/sec? Or
    wo
    uld the total transfer rate be 8000 Readings/Sec
    since there are 4 PCI-6602's (2000 Readings/Sec
    for each of the 4 PCI-6602's)?

    Hello;
    The only concern you need to have is the number of IRQs available. As far as DMA channels, as the PCI bus itself has only 3 DMA channels available, all the devices that use DMA will share those 3 channels. But, as IRQs can't be shared, the number of counters you will be able to use will be the exact number of available IRQs you still have on your machine.
    As far as transfer rate, the maximum transfer rate will be 2000 Readings/sec, regardless the number of counters you are using.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why can't I transfer my photos from the memory card to my computer.

    I have an HP 5510 and can't see where I can download photos from the memory card to my computer. The printer only lets me view the photos or print them, but I want to store them on my computer. How do i do that?

    I'm wondering the same thing...  Do I need to connect the printer via the usb cable?  Help Please.

  • Text tool in elements 10 has taken to locking up computer

    Any attempt to use text tool in elements 10 has taken to locking up computer. I do not want to pay for an upgrade until I know that one of two things will happen: 1) the upgrade will fix this situation, OR 2) there is a way to repair the problem so that the upgrade will install properly

    Select the T tool and try a reset - see image below:

  • I use a Pandigital Photlink one touch scanner. In order to get iphoto ro recognize the jpegs after loading them from an hd card onto the computer i have to 'save as' each one into documents and them 'open with' iphoto.  Is there a way to do a group 'save

    I use a Pandigital Photolink one touch scanner.  Then I upload the pics from the hd card to the computer.  In order to get iphoto to recognize the images I have to first save each photo using 'save as' to my documents, then 'open with' iphoto.  Is there a way to do a group 'save as' and then open the group in iphoto?
    Scanning this way is much faster than using my printer but having to save each individually defeats the purpose.
    Thanks,  Gailfromlangley
