SD card messing up bad

Ever since that new update, my SD card refuses to work with my phone.  It will work for about 5 minutes then it unmounts itself and all the apps that are on my SD card start malfunctioning as well as I can't use my music or photos without either completely restarting the phone or going into settings and unmounting and remounting the SD card.  Pretty much every time I want to view my photos or play my music I have to go thru this and its getting extremely frustrating.  Is there a fix for this???

Hi jitter_bug_2002,
I feel your pain; I would be very frustrated if I experienced issues with my SD memory card. While no SD card issues have been reported as known issues after latest software update, I would think that some third party application conflicts may be causing the issues. I would recommend trying 2 things:
1 Format SD Memory Card Remember to back up important media first as this procedure will erase all data on the memory card.
2 Factory Reset Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications. This process will not delete any thing on your SD Memory card.
I trust that one of the above recommendations resolve the issues with your SD Memory card. Keep us posted after you try the above troubleshooting steps.

Can you still boot to the Recovery partition using Command and R whilst booting? Or did you wipe the Recovery partition as well?
If your Recovery partition is still intact, you can simply boot to it and reinstall the OS via the Internet. If you wiped the Recovery partition, you can hold down Command, option and R keys whilst booting and boot into true Internet Recovery mode. You'll be able to reformat the hard drive, erasing all partitions (format it as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" with a dingle GUID partition) and then reinstall the OS that shipped with your machine.
Note that you should use a physical Ethernet connection when restoring over the Internet - it's three times slower if you use wifi.
Try your Recovery partition first and if that doesn't work, use Internet Recovery.

I'm assuming error 3259. Temporarily disable ALL of your antispyware/antivirus software, open your firewall and try again.

  • Can the Airport Card just go bad?

My MacBook finds the wireless network from my router but won't join it when i tell it to. I have accessed the internet directly from my cable modem. I have tried accessing other wireless networks at friends houses to no avail. I haven't run the Apple hardware test yet. Is it possible that the internal airport card has gone bad and just isnt receiving the signal from the router?

    Hi
Just like any other electronic component, an airport card can go bad. However, it's more likely that you're yet another victim of the unexplained wireless connection problem which is plaguing MacBooks. A quick survey of this forum will find many similar posts to yours

  • Windows 7, Photoshop CS6 or CC Dialog boxes Messed up bad!

    Hi Guys,
I'm running a PC with Windows 7 and a Nvidia Quadro 600 Card.
I have tried solving this one on and off for many months with no luck. Updating the drivers on the GPU etc. Clean installing.
It seems to affect only photoshop dialog boxes. But on both CS6 and even now on CC.
I'd settle right now for anyone even seeing this problem before! (Although I'd love a solution, don't get me wrong)
Here are a few snippets of the problems. Makes it impossible to read and use. Poor guy who uses this at work, is having a hard time using photoshop! It's every dialog, that gets messed up.
    Um, help!

I actually can't believe I'm writing this, but I have finally resolved this issue!
I think it might have been something to do with duplicate fonts.
I had duplicates of Arial and about 9 other fonts. However for the life of me, I could not delete them after going through changing ownership of the Windows folder to enable deletion of duplicate fonts which were used by the system. Couldn't do it that.
I finally re-installed WIndows 7 as an upgrade. So basically I was upgrading to the exact same version of Windows 7, while maintaining all my original settings, programs, mapped drives etc etc. Everything.
And photoshop looks peachy now! I can actually see what I'm doing!
But thanks to Dutch Paul Paul, who got me thinking along the lines of re-activating fonts!

  • Is my Video Card/Display going bad??

My display has 30-50 vertical columns, from top to bottom, across the screen. Within each column, are numerous vertical lines, like bar codes, that are pink in color. This situation happens at start up before any applications are opened. The computer(apps) works like normal, mail, safari, etc, except these lines are always in my view, on the desktop or window/page. If I "grab" a page to move it , then the whole page turns pink. If I click off of the page and then return, the page looks normal again, except for the columns of pink, vertical bars.
Is this my display going bad or video card?? I have the ATI Radeon X850 XT video card. If it's the video card , do I replace with a new old stock (ATI Radeon X850 XT) or can I replace with a newer, better card??
Any help GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!! I'm Very Novice at this!!

    Hi-
Sounds very much like a baked graphics processor.
Have you tried cleaning the dust from the card?
Is the fan on the card clean and rotating freely?
If you are at all mechanically inclined, removing the fan and reapplying thermal compound is worth a try before laying out serious cash.
As for replacement, the X850XT was the top card ever offered by Apple.
It is also THE most rare.
Because of this, they command high prices:
    http://www.welovemacs.com/6613594r.html
eBay also has a number of them for similar prices.
    Radeon X850XT
can I replace with a newer, better card??
    Only one option for better.
A flashed (converted PC version) Geforce 7800GS:

At less than half the price of the X850XT, it is worth considering:
    Geforce 7800 GS.

  • Activation nightmare - SIM card mess

I just purchased 2 new phones for a family plan. Activating the first was a snap. When I tried to activate the second, I get a rather vague message that itunes cannot activate and I must call ATT. After 2 hours on the phone (rep says it is the longest activation call he's ever had to deal with) I finally get through the activation process.
Now I get the dreaded "bad SIM card" message. Rep says to take it to an ATT store and get another card. Now I can't wait to get interrogated about hacking the new phone.
Finally I pop out the SIM card and +*IT HAS A SMUDGE ON IT*+. There is some kind of gunk on the "brand new" SIM card. I remove it with some saliva and my shirt and the phone now works!
Used card? Some dolt at the factory spilled some coffee? Who knows. Of course I'm probably the only one this happens to.

  • Bank is offering to increase my credit limit on 2 credit cards - good or bad idea?

My bank is offering to increase my credit limit on 2 credit cards.I have an excellent credit score, and already have more than enough credit limit available on my credit cards.I know that a higher limit would make for a better credit score when there is some debt on the cards.HOWEVER - What I'd like to know:Is it ever a bad idea to accept a credit limit increase offer from a bank / credit card issuer? Also - Can a too high of a credit limit affect ones ability to get a mortgage or other loans?  Thanks!

  • Creating an itunes account without a credit card messed up...can someone help?

I followed the instructions to create an Apple ID without using a credit card (thank you google....) but somewhere after the verification email it went wrong.  Now, every time I try to log into the Apps Store on Itunes it prompts me to enter a credit card.
Does anyone know how to fix this, so that I can get into the apps store?

I think you have to log in using your account, enter the codes etc. for the gift card, and then the credit amount appears and she will be able to download the music. I did the same for my stepson, who is 16. An employee at the Apple store told me to do this and said when he is old enough to get his own credit card he can set up an account and the music he already has will play. Yes, I think that a credit card is 100% necessary and I presume that legally it forces you to be respponsible, as a parent, for your child's downloads as they cannot have a credit card under 18, at least under English law, and presumably, in other countries such as the USA, it is the same.

  • How do I know if my Airport Extreme Card is going bad?

I have 3 computers on a home network. I have the router (Airport Extreme) in my guest house and it is working properly. The tenant is able to get her email and browse just fine. I also have a Airport Express in the front house that extends the signal via WDS. I have a 24 inch Intel iMac 2.4 that is connected to the network and runs fine. When I check in the Airport utility the iMac can see both routers. I have a Power Mac G5 2.0 that has a Airport Extreme card in my studio which is behind my garage. It shows that it is connected to the network and at full strength but I cannot browse or get mail. I tried to run diagnostics but when I do it does not find my network. I also cannot find either one of the routers from the Airport Utility even though the Mac is about one room away from the main router. I tried renewing the DHCP. I also even uninstalled and reinstalled the Airport Extreme Card with no luck. I can see my network from the Status Bar where the Airport Signal Strength is but again...cannot find the routers in Airport Utility nor find the network within the Networking Diagnostics.
    Any advise?

Little antenna is still intact. Everything looks good on that part. If I take it out the bars go grey. Yes this system was working fine with very good download speeds up to 1mb/sec (usually 400 to 700 kbps) up until a few days ago.

  • Is the ati graphics card good or bad?

i have the mac pro 2.66 w/ the 7300 gt. it works great but i do wish i upgraded to the ati when i purchased my mp. it just seems like it would of been easier than buying the card later and installing it myself - and cheaper too, 250 compared to 400. but i've been reading a lot of mixed reviews (usually not too good) about overheating and screen glitches. i would like to get a better card but the ati is the only one compatibable with the mp. is it worth the 400 bucks and what are your guys' thoughts on the ata card.
    much appreciated

Forums are mostly about problems, so you do get a skewed view of the world. And AMD is really busy cranking out the new X2000 series (2400, 2600, 2900, etc).
The 1950 moved the fan assembly back, further inside, where it is quieter. The problem with dust and ventilation is hard to remedy. FBDIMMs also run very warm as well. But, the Mac Pro is quite efficient at cooling.
If you do work or run apps and games that would actually make use of the ATI Radeon, yes. Does something you do actually benefit? I can't find anything I do that would, personally.

  • Itunes Card messed up

I redeemed an itunes card for $15s and i want to use it to buy some apps, but everytime i click "buy this app" it says it's going to bill my credit card. At the top of itunes it says i have 15 dollars, but everytime i click something to buy it says it's going to bill my credit card. I took off all the credit card information and now it just sends me to a screen where i have to enter it again.
What's going on, why can't i use my itunes money?

That is required by Canadian law.
why can't i use my itunes money?
You can use it on music and videos. Applications and games require a credit card in Canada.

  • Itunes card / support is bad

i recently got an itunes card from my fiancee and when i rubbed off the silver coating the numbers came off too. I have emailed apple 3 times and got the same auto response. I have sent in the upc numbers etc, etc like the support page said and am getting nowhere. i was told in the auto reponse that they would send me my password. i even called apple and the person was of no help. i need to find out how to cantact a person who can actually help me. please any one help

I know that the iTMS customer service department is swamped, so try the form again. If you still don't get anything other than the automated response within a day or two, post back and I'll ask a Discussions Host to try and escalate your issue.

  • I am pretty sure my video card has gone bad in my macbook pro, I want to retrieve data before replacing it.  Is this possible?

My video card has failed and I want to retrieve photos.  Can this be done?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
I wouldn't worry about that. Take your Mac to an Apple Store or reseller and let them repair your Mac. If it's a GPU failure, your hard drive is OK, and you will have the same hard drive with the same data after getting the MacBook Pro repaired.
However, it's recommended to make a backup. As you can't start up your Mac, what you can do is to take out the hard drive and connect it to another Mac through a USB to SATA adapter, so you can recover your files
