SD card options for 11inch MacBook Air?

The 11 inch doesn't have an on-board SD Card reader, unless I misread the literature, so what's the best way to transfer the data from SD cards?
An SD card reader?
Is there a "Best option for the Mac" or should I simply search Amazon?
Thanks

there are 3 types of SD cards: normal (SD), fast (SDHC) and blazing fast (SDXC). The better the performance, the more readers and cards cost
Most macs come with SDXC card reader.
the SDXC reader can read SD, SDHC and SDXC cards, but they cost more
the SDHC reader can read SD and SDHC but not SDXC.
the SD reader can only read SD. they're the cheapest.
If you're going to buy high performance cards (SDHC or SDXC), you don't want to buy SD readers, as they'll be incompatible.
Hope this answers.
P.S. (the onboard SDXC reader isn't going to be much faster than a good quality SDXC reader, since  even SDXC is slower than USB 3.0 technology)

  • Is 11inch MacBook Air Too Small?

    Hi,
I'm totally stuck on which MacBook to upgrade to. I currently have a late 2009 white polycarbonate MacBook. I use it with a 27inch external HD display. My first question is - is it worth an upgrade? My main uses are schoolwork, email, web surfing, the odd movie and the very odd intensive task. Should I upgrade my Mac now or wait another year or two? If I was to upgrade I am looking at an 11inch MacBook Air. 2nd question is - is it too small. I bring my MacBook around alot and would even more if I had the Air but is it too small for what I want to do? I know I have the external display but what when I'm not using it?
Sorry to be such a vague question,
    Any help appreciated,
    Mg

Ive owned both 11" and 13" Air, i wouldnt go back to the 11", but thats subjective
The 13" has a lot more battery and therefore more power for longer hours
also the 13" has a SD card slot, and of course larger viewing area (obviously).
The weight diff. to me was next to nothing between the two.

All you should have to do is to go to the Adobe web site http://www.adobe.com.
Sign in with your Adobe ID and Password.
Then go the web page's Search field and type in "My Orders".
Follow the "My Orders" link to your orders, find the order corresponding to the version in question.
There should be an opportunity there to download a new set of installation files.
Do you have your purchased serial number? If not, I am not sure if it will be included in the "My Orders"
area. But, it should be in the "My Products" which you can access from the Search field. Click on the
name of your product in "My Products", and the serial number should be revealed.
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.

  • Do I need a special convertor for a Macbook Air in the UK?

Hello. I am studying abroad in the UK soon and I was wondering if I needed a specific type of convertor for my Macbook Air? I've asked this question to several people and have received mixed responses. I have the MagSafe convertor for my charger and it says the voltage input is 100-240 with a 60 w magsafe power adaptor. Any information would be helpful! Thanks.

  • Is there a way for my macbook air (running Lion) to access an external hard drive on my Imac (running snow leopard) specifically for Iphoto and itunes?

Is there a way for my macbook air (running Lion 10.7.2) to access an external hard drive on my Imac (running snow leopard 10.6.8) specifically for Iphoto and itunes?

Yes. For those two applications specifically there is sharing. This presumes both computers are on and connected to the same network.
In iPhoto, enable sharing by (on the iMac) going to the iPhoto menu > Preferences > Sharing > check Share my photos. You can either share the entire library or only selected albums. Now on your MacBook Air, in iPhoto, go to the same preference pane and select Look for shared photos.
iTunes has something similar. In the iTunes menu > Preferences > Sharing > check Share my library on my local network. On the other computer, look in the left column for SHARED and select the iMac. You can now play that music on the MacBook Air.
There are other ways to share files but for those two applications this is the simplest way.
    Best of luck.

Apps for OSX aren't in iTunes: they are in the App Store in your Applications folder. The payment method is the one registered in iTunes. There's no app actually called Yoga Studio, though there are several Yoga apps. There is an iOS app called Yoga Studio but it appears to have no OSX equivalent, though I haven't done a detailed search.

  • What is the best skin for new Macbook Air 13"?

What is the best skin for new Macbook Air 13"?
I have a new Air and want to protect it from scratches and such.
    Thanks in advance

Sorry, I don't like "skins". They inhibit the heat transfer necessary to keep your MBA cool. Get a soft or hard case to store it when not in use. I like Speck products.
Just take care of it. Battle scars make it uniquely yours.

  • Where can I purchase a rubber/silicone case for my MacBook air?

I am searching for a silicone (soft) case for my MacBook Air.  Does anyone know where I may purchase one?  I'm not referring to the rubberized hard shell cases found via Amazon and/or eBay.  I want one that is similar to the silicone cases you put on an iPod or iPad.

Haven't seen one of those, but I did find a thin, padded neoprene case by NuCase at the Apple store...check the on-line store and see what they have.

I have a macbook air but I dont want to buy a whole new display for it which is why i want to use my tv.

  • Can I use my Imac as a monitor for my Macbook Air?

Can I use my iMac as a monitor for my Macbook Air?

Without any knowledge of the year machines you have it's impossible to answer that question. iMacs adn MBA's have been around for many years now so we have no idea of the exact specs your machine have. Remember when posting you need to be complete and paint a picture for us as we aren't there to look for ourselves. Your question should be  posted something like:
" I have a 2011 27" iMac and a 2009 MacBook Air, can I use the iMac as an external display for my MacBook Air?"
BTW what you are referring to is called Target Display Mode. Apple does support that on some 2009-2011 iMacs. You can find additional information at:
