SD slot not working or in device manager

I have a HP Pavilion dm4 1050ca. I used my older brother's camera to take pictures and put them on an SD card I own. This is the first time I realized my laptop had an SD reader. I tried to put the card in but nothing happened. There was no sound and nothing in My Computer. I went to the HP site and downloaded the file to reinstall it. I uninstalled the old one and installed the new one. Still the same thing. The card only fits one way so it isn't upside down. I have no other way to get the pictures off the SD card, and no other SD cards to try in the slot.
I've tried;
reinstalling file (sp50822)
restarting computer
looking in ALL device manager folders
looking at device manager hidden folders
removing and putting in SD card
I welcome any help

HTML5 output is not working on mobile devices, including iPads and iPhones

Hello,
I posted a question about this last week but had no reply. So I'm posting it again as it presents a serious problem for anyone wanting to publish content to mobile devices from Captivate 6.
The problem is that HTML5 quiz content runs incrediably slowly (it at all) and crashes the brower on mobile devices. I have tested this on an iPhone and 2 iPads in 2 different locations.
This is a demo that shows the problems: http://sshls-dev.port.ac.uk/captivate_problems/
(Running this demo on a standard laptop / PC will be fine and it will work perfectly. The problem only appears when the content is viewed on a mobile device).
The problem is more extreem in the 'shorthand' demo. The quiz loads up the first question and then when I press submit it either freezes or closes the browser (Safari) completly. Occasionally it will progress to questions 2 or 3 but then the same happens.
I am keen on finding an answer / workaround becuase at the moment it effectively means that Captivate cannot be used to display quizes on phones / iPads.
I would be very grateful if anyone knows how to solve this problem to let me know.

Just tested on an iphone 4 and it works fine. Please provide details for all the devices on which you have the issue (model type/name, os version, browser version)

W520 Smart Card reader does not show up in Device Manager

W520 Smart Card reader does not show up in Device Manager.
It was working before and now nothing. Nothing happens when SD card plugges in.
Could my smart card reader stop working or is this a configuration issue?
Any thoughts?

The issue is related with software, to resolve this you need to re-install the card reader driver from the below mentioned web link.

System Recovery is not working From HP Recovery Manager. so i cant restore my laptop to its original factory condition. (Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium).
so when i restart my computer and press Esc and then choose F11 i get this message :

Had the C partition been split/shrunk to form a new partition previously?
Does disk management show the HDD as basic or dynamic? (Start>Right-click Computer>Manage>disk management on the left).
If it has been switched to dynamic (Windows does this automatically when more than 4 partitions are present on the disk), then the F11 recovery partition won't function until it is restored to basic, but I would like to confirm that is the scenario before providing those steps.
The Disk management shows that my HDD as Dynamic, what should i do then if this is the case and the possible solution to my problem?

If you have more than 4 partitions you will need to delete the extra partition/partitions, then convert the hdd back to Basic.

MS mobile browsers are crippled. They don't support many features known from IE. I would suggest to check MSDN for Windows Mobile documentation:

I can confirm this bug.
Not sure if this info is relevant, but this is my experience:
I am on the FIDO network, and so are two other people I know.
We all tried blocking numbers, and calls ring right through. Text messages are blocked successfully. (never tried facetime)
I also tried a ROGERS device running IOS7, and was successfully able to block my phone call from ringing through. HOWEVER, my call was forwarded to their voicemail, I was able to leave a voicemail for the person, and they did get an alert that they had a new voicemail.
I have not yet had a chance to test this on Bell, Telus, or any other carriers.
Spoke to Apple, and they advised me to do a hard reset (hold both buttons to shut off and reboot the phone), and if that fails to do an iOS restore.
I have yet to try this, but hopefully someone will have a better solution.

I think on your notebook are missing some drivers.
The SM Bus Controller driver is in the chipset driver package. So try to install it and maybe it works.
The drivers you can find on the Toshiba website.
Have you installed it with a Microsoft disk? The Toshiba recovery disk creator contains all necessary drivers and tools that you need and so this would be maybe an option for you to reinstall the OS.

Generally and at times we all have little idiosyncrasies appearing with the running of our Macs.
I use the same Logitech BT with my MBP. MB & iBook..(not at the same time) Only ever had one issue
and the cure was to completely Delete the mouse from BT -> Repair Permissions & Reboot then Re Install the BT mouse..Ihave just put a new set of batteries in the Logitech (only 2nd set ever)...L

Email settings DO NOT WORK WITH iOS Devices

Vz keeps sending these "important" instructions for email port settings, BUT they do not work with iOS devices--iPhones and iPads. Last go around with this I spent over 16 hours trying to reconcile until an Apple Expert discovered "special" instructions for iOS device settings. Get with the program, Verizon.

Bluetooth not working and not appearing in the devices manager

My bluetooth suddenly is not working anymore and i can't see it in the device manager.
I tried to reinstall the drivers but the problem persist. I have one strange USB problem happening too at the device manager, and it just appeared after the bluetooth problem. How can I solve it? One image of the problem is attached!

Memory Upgrade Problem/Slot not Working

I have an HP Pavilion G7-1260us. The laptop came with 4 gigs of memory in one module in one slot. It is upgradeable to 8 gigs, 4 gigs in 2 slots. I purchased a 4 gig memory module, installed it and it didn't work. I figured the system wasn't reading this particular brand on memory so I took it back and got a different brand. The same thing happened. System didn't recognize the memory so I took out the installed memory, put the new one in and it worked. I took that out, put the installed memory in the other slot and it didn't work, so now, I'm fairly sure the slot isn't working. My question is this, if I purchase an 8 gig memory module and install it in the working slot, will that work and will the system show that I have 8 gigs? Or will this system only recognize 8 gigs if it's 2 4 gigs in each slot?

   Hp Support Assistant should tell you what you have. Open up the HP Support Assistant and go to General Specifications, read down to slots. If it shows two slots then they are obviously functioning. If not, go to Device Manager to ensure that there is no conflict.
    It is also very-very of the utmost importance that the two memory cards are compatible with themselves and with your system's memory speed.. . . Which is? . . . .It is always best to have matching cards with sychronized speeds from a single vendor.
   As for: My question is this, if I purchase an 8 gig memory module and install it in the working slot, will that work and will the system show that I have 8 gigs? Or will this system only recognize 8 gigs if it's 2 4 gigs in each slot?
If your running Windows 7, Yes, your system will recognize and use the entire eight gigs.
If it were a rattler. . . .

Satellite L500D SD Card Slot not working

Hi! I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 as recommended by Toshiba and found that the built-in SD/MMC Card Slot no longer works. When I put in a card, the screen goes black. Then I uninstalled the device and when I tried to reinstall it, Windows reported that it could not load the driver (Code 31). I have no luck locating a newer version of the driver and all Driver Scan products I've tried seem to think the driver is up-to-date.
Before I send the machine in for a service, could you please let me know what I should do first? I bought the machine in Australia (not sure whether it has any bearing). Thanks!

First of all you should check the device manager if the SD slot in installed properly.
If the yellow exclamation mark occurs in the device manger in the SD area so there is something wrong. Usually the driver is missing. In this case you have to install the SD host controller driver and SD memory card driver. These drivers you will find on the Toshiba website.
If the device was installed properly and the device manager doesnt show any exclamation marks so you have to use a supported and compatible SD card.
Please check you users manual for supported SD cards.
