SDB - CRMM_SEARCH

Hi,
I have configured Solution Database on CRM 7.0 as mentioned in the best practices guide
http://help.sap.com/bp_crm70/BBLibrary/HTML/C13_EN_DE.htm
The index also is compiled successfully. However, when I try to search the problems and solutions using CRMM_SEARCH or SAP CRM WebUI, the search results are zero.
Also, there is no error.
In CRMM_SEARCH I can search db SDB but not SDB Problems or SDB Solutions, Is this correct? as ICWC uses SDB I want to make sure questions and answers are visible in SDB as they appear to route to SDB Problems and SDB Solutions. I use IS01 to maintain problems and solutions.
Please note: The Knowledge Articles search is working perfectly.
Please advice.
Thanks,
Rinkal

  • (Grub) Dual booting with XP on sdb

My goal is to be able to dual boot with two hard drives: Arch on sda and Windows XP on sdb.  With help in the #archlinux IRC I've managed to get Windows XP to boot by getting the menu.lst correct but when I click "Start Windows Normally", or "Start in Safe Mode", etc. etc. the computer just reboots. A cellphone picture of that all well known Windows black Screen: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nrczq86vsi6o9 … 6%20AM.jpg
    My fdisk -l and /boot/grub/menu.lst:
    http://pastebin.com/sLUUsCcU
To see if my xp hard drive was still intact I did this:
    sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /media && ls /media/
    and saw this:
    boot.ini NTDETECT.COM pagefile.sys System Volume Information
Documents and Settings ntldr Program Files WINDOWS
    nano /media/boot.ini
    [Boot Loader]
    Timeout=30
    Default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [Operating Systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
I've consulted all the wiki's and forum posts I could find but at this point, I'm just stuck.  Somehow I think the final result is me reinstalling both OSs and starting again from scratch.
Any help or advice on getting a fully functional Windows XP on /dev/sdb would be greatly appreciated

    Pres,
Thanks for the post.  If I click "Last Known Configuration" the computer just reboots and I'm back where I started. Yeah, my Arch is working fine. My thought process behind re-installing Arch was that maybe the installation process would deal with the Grub config of /dev/sda and /dev/sdb automatically somehow and make everything OK...

  • [SOLVED] Arch is on /dev/sdb but I want to remove /dev/sda

Hi.  I've got 3 drives in my tower:  sda, sdb and sdc.  Arch is installed on sdb, but I want to physically remove the drive at sda. When I unplug the drive I get the syslinux menu at boot, but it ends up saying something like
"Root device mounted successfully, but /sbin/init does not exist....You're on your own", and it doesn't boot. If I plug the drive back in, it boots fine.
I'm not sure what's happening here, but I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm unplugging sda, then sdb/sdc get re-mapped to sda/sdb, or something like that.  Right now my syslinux.cfg looks like this (note the  APPEND root=/dev/sdb1 rw)
    DEFAULT arch

I'm tempted to change sdb to sda in syslinux.cfg, and change the UUID=... to /dev/sda1 in fstab, but I don't want to screw with anything boot related since it's a really bad time for me to end up with a system that won't boot.
Am I on the right track here?
If I go ahead and make those changes, unplug the drive and end up with a system that won't boot, can I just go in there with a live-cd, change them back and expect it to boot as before...is that safe?

...by not reading the docs carefully enough...
So you're saying to change my APPEND root=UUID=54ece8c2-8998-4203-b2f8-66cb682e4bf0
    in syslinux.cfg
And I should be able to boot with my other drives unplugged?

  • Boot fails due to /dev/sdb not showing up after update

For some reason, my secondary hard disk has stopped being detected after I updated my Arch Linux machine today.  This machine has not been updated for about a year (I have been away).  Basically, /dev/sdb* is not in /dev/.  There is only /dev/sda*.
The current kernel installed is 2.6.39.
The error I get on boot is when it tries to detect the hard drives.  I would try to provide a log file, however every time I try to plug in a USB stick, it says that it is disabling IRQ #10, and it won't start the network so I can't ssh the information to any other computer.  I can log in by removing sdb from the fstab, so I will try to get /var/log/messages on here later.
I am using udev to detect my hard drives on startup.
Anybody know how to fix this problem?
I can log in perfectly fine if I remove any mention of sdb from my /etc/fstab.
Thank-you in advance for your help,
    kev717.

Assuming you have a BIOS based computer, have you tried the BIOS configuration program to see if the drive is detected by the BIOS ?

  • Rc.sysinit hangs at fsck check when sdb gets mistaken for sda

I've recently started having this problem where booting gets stuck at  "Checking Filesystems", seemingly at random, when my boot drive gets assigned to sdb. Sda is SATA (/, /home), sdb is IDE (backup). Grub2 and fstab are using UUID (and have always used them).
The only thing I can do is press the "Print Screen/Sys Rq" key to instigate a reboot (fsckret=131).
Can anyone point me in the right direction please? It's driving me bonkers now!

tomk wrote:Use UUIDs or labels instead of sd* device naming - details here.
I don't want to appear rude but did you read what I wrote? I've never used sd* device naming.
Edit: Let me be more specific... This is what should happen
    Apr 11 21:37:10 arch64 kernel: sda1 sda2 sda3 sda4 < sdb1 sdb4
Apr 11 21:37:10 arch64 kernel: sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI disk
    Apr 11 21:37:10 arch64 kernel: sda5 sda6 sda7 sda8 >
Apr 11 21:37:10 arch64 kernel: sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI disk
But for some reason [sda] and [sdb] get switched on about 50-60% of boots.

  • No databases available on CRMM_SEARCH

    Hi,
We have Knowledge Search running correctly in the IC Web Client (CRM 5.0).  When you go to the Knowledge Search screen in IC Web, the Database drop-down list contains 3 items (as desired):  Interaction Records, Business Leads, and Service Tickets.  Searches using these knowledge bases work fine.
We'd like to make this functionality available in the SAP GUI since not all of our users use the IC Web.  However, when I go to transaction CRMM_SEARCH, all the fields and buttons are grayed-out, and the Database dropdown list is empty.  I get an error message "Knowledge base not compiled; inform your knowledge administrator" when I run this transaction, but I suspect this is because the Database field is empty.
Does anyone know how to configure CRMM_SEARCH to work the same as the IC Web Knowledge Search screen?  I went through the Configure Application wizard, and all Knowledge Bases are already assigned to the ICWINCLIENT & ICWEBCLIENT applications (the "ALL" application has only the 3 we want assigned - ACTIVITY, LEAD, SERVICE_ORDER).
    Thanks.
    Martin

    hello,
5 years is too long... well to enable the buttons you have to link the org unit, in ppoma_crm (pick attribute webclient), and then create this same profile in IMG. It´s 2 steps.
    cheers,

  • Knowledge Search SDB

    Hi Gurus!
I'm configuring Enterprise intelligence. I want to use knowledge search both in IC Web Client and standalone in SAP GUI. I've complied SDB but when I start to search through SDB I get no results, but also no errors. Any ideas how to solve this problem? There are of course some problems and solutions in SDB. In tx CRMC_SAF_TOOL I have no errors.
Maybe there are some settings for Knowlege Search?

  • IMG -pc not working on /dev/sdb

When I boot from PXE and the fixed disk is detected at /dev/sda, I can create partitions to my hearts content. However, when I boot from a USB device, the fixed disk is detected as /dev/sdb. (the USB drive is now /dev/sda) And when I run "img -pc 1", it just hangs indefinitely. (eventhough "img -partition" lists the fixed disk as /dev/sdb)
This is all after running "parted /dev/sdb rm 1" and img -pd -all". So the fixed disk is completly erased in both cases.
I also noticed the same problem with zisedit after clearing the fixed disk; If I PXE boot (fixed disk detected as /dev/sda), I can run "zisedit N={new name}" with no problem. The new name get's applied to Image Safe Data just fine, as I can verify it by running "zisview". However, if I boot to USB where the USB gets detected as /dev/sda and the fixed disk changes to /dev/sdb, I cannot rename it. It takes the command OK, it just never gets applied.
My client wants to boot from PXE (or USB) and be able to clear the fixed disk completely, create custom partitions, AND be able to rename the computer in ISD before the image comes down. So, zisedit can change its name in the OS automatically.
My PXE menu and USB menus are currently indentical. I have created scripts to parse the output of "img -partition", so I can determine the fixed disk whether I'm PXE or USB booting. I just need to know a way to specify the fixed disk as a parameter, if possible.
I've also tried to make the USB drive always be /dev/sdb, so the fixed disk would still be detected at /dev/sda when USB booting. But, this has also been challenging. But, I think it might work too. I just don't know of a way to do this either.
    Anyway.. HELP! and thank you

    Hi
How did yo create you USB boot disk? On 11.3?

  • Arch, Arch installer and Sda/Sdb confusion

I have been attemping to install Arch and get kdemod up and running and I have been running into some issues.
Because of this, I have been reinstalling it quite a few times to get it to work.
My first main issue is this:
I have 3 physical hard drives in my computer.
    A 1TB Sata drive
    A 250GB IDe drive
    A 80GB Sata drive.
For some reason, 75% of the time, when I boot from the Arch Installer cd, it detects my 1TB sata drive as Sda and the 250GB ide drive as Sdb
the other 25% of the time it detects the 250GB drive as Sda and the 1TB as Sdb
When it detects it as Sda, I am able to usually boot into Arch after it's installed.
When it detects it as Sdb, it will "sometimes" boot into arch.
The rest of the time, it seems to change it's mind and think that the 1TB drive is once again Sda and the 250GB ide drive is Sdb, which confuses the boot loader (I think)
Thanks in advance for any help

I'm not sure as to why is "randomly"detecting the drives wrong ... having said that this is what I would do if confronted with that situation.
    1. Disable in my BIOS the two small drivers.
    2. Install Arch in the 1TB HDD ( I assume that's what you really want)
    3. Once Arch is properly installed (you of courses reboot the machine to test that ) I would edit my /etc/fstab file and add the other drives. Like
    /dev/sdb1 /home ext4 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sdb2 /backups ext4 defaults 0 1
and that should give you a consistent and working system.
    I hope this helps.
    R.
Edit: Just one thing ... in step 3 you have to reboot your system and re-enable in the BIOS the other HDDs you disabled in step 1

  • Hdparm -Y /dev/sdb in /etc/rc.conf no effect

Hello. I have added SSD disk to my laptop (/dev/sda), but I have kep old HDD (/dev/sdb).
Because HDD is rarely used, I decided to spare some power by putting this HDD to rest. So I checked out the command in terminal:
    sudo hdparm -Y /dev/sdb
It worked. However, when I added
    hdparm -Y /dev/sdb
to the bottom of /etc/rc.conf file, nothing happens.
Why is this and how can I debug that? Can I somehow prevent HDD spinning up in the first place?

siriusb wrote:Problem is that hdparm needs root privilage to run. So if you want that command invoked in ~/.xinitrc you have to write a script which asks for root password then execute hdparm.
There may be other ways I'm not aware of, but I'm not a guru either.
You can work around that with proper sudo configuration. Say, this should work for whole wheel group to be able to use sudo hdparm without root password:
    %wheel ALL = NOPASSWD: /sbin/hdparm
Obviously could be done for other groups as well. Just an example.

I have come up with solution:
    until [ "$(pidof X)" ]; do
    sleep 1
    done
    sleep 10
    hdparm -Y /dev/sdb
    Is solution like this acceptable?
edit, nevermind, I'm just dumb looks good
edit2 actually... a script put this way will ask for a pid of a process, on whose creation it is waiting. Either I'm very very tired (which I am), or the logic is a bit faulty.

instead of telling it to create by itself, i selected "manual" partition.
and select mount point /OVS for /dev/sdb and partition type osfs2
note : if ov 2.2 complain that it cant format such a big partition. then you need to boot the server with live cd and use parted and make /dev/sdb as "gpt" partition type
then start the server again with ov 2.2 cd .

    Hi All,
When you access tcode CRMM_SEARCH, theres an option there to send a solution/problem in email. However, when trying to send the email to my outlook, i got a message that contains a lot of "br" in its body.
    Example:

Have found that the "br" is the line break or new line in the paragraph.
Upon checking the set-up of my outlook, it was already set to HTML. Have also checked the RAW file of the email via SOST and there's also <br> in the body.
All I what is to deliver the email in my outlook without the "<br>" in its body.
Can anyone know how to fix this error? Is there any sap note available for this problem?
