Whenever I import AVCHD clips from my SDHC card (connected via a card reader) and then try to eject it I get this message.
Up to now I have simply quitted FCP X to eject it but there must be a quicker and more elegant solution?
How?

Incidentally I have read a suggestion to use the "eject" symbol/button in the camera import window but after using it the card remains stubbornly on the desktop and a further attempt to eject it normally or drag it to the trash brings up the dreaded warning message again.
I've even tried Disk Utility with the same lack of success.
OK, it only takes 20 seconds to relaunch FCP X but it should not be necessary.

Are you connected to wifi, or doing it over cell signal?

M ipod is daisabled and requires a connect to itune, but when i plug it in to the computer a pop up appears that says itunes cannot access this ipod because it has a passcode Type in the pascode and try again. I cant type in the pascode so any suggestions

Every Time i open itunes, i get this error message. I know that i am not connected to internet, but some how i want to remove that error message. It's kind of pain in brain. Because when i work on other application, sometime's i want to listen songs, so i just press shortcut key(play/pause key) from keyboard to open the itunes, but everytime i have to click on the error message. Suitable SD and SDHC Cards for Capturing Video for FCP?

Not exactly an FCP topic but this is the only forum that comes anywhere near!
Until a few weeks ago I assumed that all SD and SDHC cards were equal with regard to capture speeds.
Now I know better and have discovered that for trouble-free (consumer) video capture you need a Class 6 card to be safe.
I note that SD cards (by definition 2GB or less) have no speed classes.
I have trawled the internet, including the SD Card website but can't find any mention of the reason for this.
Is this because small SD cards are very fast or simply because nobody would conceivably use them for video?
I am asking because I have a small stock of 2GB cards which, if possible, I would like to use for short videos in the near future.

I've not used FCE so can't add anything there. Perhaps Tom W will drop by. He would know.
Regarding the VHS footage. You really ought to think about using a Time Based Corrector (TBC) between your VTR and the digitizing device. They will help deal with mis-timed frames (the 'tearing' effect) as well as chroma shift.
The Canopus ADVC-300 is the least expensive one I've seen and as an added benefit, it does the Analog/Digital conversion for you as well.

Here are some possible solutions:
Do you use musicmatch jukebox on your computer? If you do, you have to go into task manager on windows and end process mim.exe. It interferes with disconnecting ext devices
Empty your "trash/recycle bin."
If that doesn't work, try quitting all your programs, especially music-type programs, basically things that look for mp3's etc.
if that doesn't work, "log off" then "log on" and that should refresh/purge your OS system.
Finally, you can restart your computer.

My iPod (20 gb, 4 gen) syncs fine, but when I go to eject it a window pops up saying "the iPod cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application."
Unfortunately, there are no files on it (that I know of) that are being used by another application.
I can't use the eject function on the task bar because I have Vista and it will corrupt the iPod. I've just been unplugging it with out ejecting, but was hoping there was a solution. Any advice?

Are you running any anti-virus or spyware detection software in the background? Start closing programs located in the taskbar next to the clock and try ejecting the iPod.

After I had put some songs on the ipod, i got that message. I thought maybe the new songs were the problem but de computer still doesn't want to eject my Ipod and there are no programes in use other than itunes.

by any chance, do you have McAfee ActiveScan security software on that PC? i've seen that implicated a few times with this message.
if you do have McAfee, as an experiment try switching that off prior to doing a sync. do you still get the message then?
if the McAfee thing doesn't-help/isn't-relevant, let's try using the following techniques to see if we can identify if some other program is causing the message. (the article is actually about installation errors, but the techniques are relevant to this sort of investigation.)

I am using my crusty but trusty 5G iPod with my new rMPB, and things have been working as expected for the month or so that I've had the new laptop. But "recently," (past few days?), when I go to eject from iTunes (current - 11.1.5), I get the error message, "The iPod cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application." The iPod is then ejected but the "Do not disconnect" message remains on the iPod screen. I can continue using the iPod as normal after all this.
If I eject the iPod from the Finder, I get no error message but the iPod screen still remains at "Do not disconnect."
I tried plugging it into my Windows 7 PC (did not reformat of course!) and then ejected it, and the iPod screen returned to its proper state after a proper Windows disconnect.
I have of course restarted my Mac and reset the iPod (Up + Center buttons held for ~5 sec) but no change. I don't remember changing the OS that would cause this - any suggestions as to the problem here?

Thus far I have
reset me iPod, restores my iPod, uninstalled and installed iTunes. I have also removed Music Match Jukebox.

let's try an experiment. first, let's check to see if the wee darling will disconnect properly if you switch off your antivirus and antispyware prior to an attempt at an eject.
if you're still getting the message, let's try steadily switching off background applications prior to attempts to eject (the following article is actually about installer errors, but the technique is the same for this sort of thing):
