SDHC Card - Change the Order of Files

I been trying to find a solution, so far unsuccessfully, to try to force the alphabetization of files and folders on a FAT SDHC Card. The memory card is used in a portable music player and when I add new files to the card the newly addded files show up at the end of the previously added files and not in alphabetical order. The music player does not have a feature to force the files in alphabetical order. I know on Windows there are a couple of software solutions that will force the order of files, for example FATSort. Is there such a solution for the mac? Thanks

Files are sorted based on the column header you sort on.
Viewing in a window will not affect how the player sees them though.

  • How do I change the order of files in a combined PDF?

Trying to create a brochure.  I've uploaded and converted some files from word to a pdf.  How can I now change the order of these files ?

    Hi respice1,
Are you combining multiple files to PDF? If so, you can drag and drop the page thumbnails on the Combine Files tab in the order that you want the files combined.
After the fact, you would need to use Acrobat to rearrange the pages in a PDF. You can try Acrobat for free for 30 days, if you would like. For more information, see www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

  • How do I change the order of files and documents in adobe acrobat 9, in the Portfolio??

I have been searching for 3.5 hours now and can't find the answer to this. Please help! I have created a portfolio in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, which has three files and three documents, the last step is just to arrange them in the right order. If you can please list step by step.
    THANK YOU!!!!!!

I think you can remove suggestions from the address bar by arrowing down to the unwanted site on the auto-suggest drop-down list and pressing Delete.
Make sure to arrow to another site or edit the address before pressing Enter or using Go, because that deleted URL will still be the address bar.
    Does that work?

  • Changing the order for printing portfolio files in adobe acrobat 9 pro

Does anyone know how to change the order for printing pdf files that are part of a portfolio in adobe acrobat 9 pro?  The documentation seems to say that it prints files alphabetically by filename rather than by the internal sort order.  This won't work for me. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • How do I change the order of multiple cards in Passbook?

    Hi,
I have two Starbucks cards loaded into Passbook - one of US currency and the other Canadian. The problem is I live in Canada and when I want to pay at Starbucks via my iPhone's Passbook, the card with US currency always show up first. The Starbucks card with US currency on it was an e-gift so I need it in my Passbook in order to use it (and it may also come in handy when the exchange rate is lower). But it gets somewhat annoying at times, especially when I am in a hurry.
Is there a way to to change the order of how the cards show up (i.e. have my Gold card with CDN $ show up first)? Please note that I have tried removing both cards from Passbook and added them in the preferred order, but it did not work.
    Thank you.

  • Importing data for tuple changes the order from source file - please help

    Hi all:
I am using MDM 7.1 with the new tuple functionality. I have to import some product texts in a specific order. Tuples is working fine, the only issue is that it changes the order of the rows when importing from Excel.  Let's say I have product number
    A123, Text 1
    A123, Text 2
    A123, Text 3
When importing in MDM I get:
    A123, Text 2
    A123, text 3
    A123, Text 1
It is changing the order in which records are from source Excel file. Any ideas on how to force it to import in the same order as source file?
    Thanks,
    -Arturo Blasi.

I want to order files (e.g., photos) in a particular order (not necessarily an order that is an option in MacOS. Ie, my own custom order, and I want them STAY in that order until I change the order. Is this possible?

Custom sort order is not a typical option in the list view of any desktop computing systems I know of. The way you're seeing it work is also how it works in Windows and other systems.
There is no "None" sort order. What you're seeing is a "None" option under "Arrange By." Arranging is not the same as sorting; arranging is how the files are grouped in the window. For example, you can arrange (group) files by Kind while sorting by Name. You'll notice that if you are in List view and you choose Arrange By "None," in the window there is still a sort triangle next to the column name that it's sorting by.
If Arrange is set to None, the files appear in one big group (the traditional view) that is controlled by the Sort order (where there is no None option).
I didn't even know the difference between Sort and Arrange until I saw your question and did a little research! This Macworld article helped:
How to arrange and sort files in Lion Finder (also applies to later OSs like Mavericks)
As for your main question, how to do a custom sort order in the Finder, you can only rearrange files manually in Icon view. As with other operating systems, if you want to create a custom sort order for photos there are other ways:
Use a photo organizer application like iPhoto or Lightroom. Some let you have custom sort orders in folders, but others only let you have a custom sort inside a different container like an "album" or "collection". Having those additional container types is part of why photos are often best managed in an organizer application and not on the desktop.
Rename the files. You can use a renaming utility program to rename the photos with numbers that will enforce your sort order when sorted by name on the desktop, like
    01 Photo.jpg
    01 Photo.jpg
    01 Photo.jpg
    or
    Photo 01.jpg
    Photo 02.jpg
    Photo 03.jpg

  • Changing the order of precedence of video card ports

My video card, a Radeon HD 5450, has three outputs: HDMI, DVI, and D-SUB. I have my TV plugged in to my computer via HDMI and my monitor via DVI. I ignore the D-SUB port.
The HDMI port appears to take precedence. When I start my computer, the resolution is configured for my TV, which is then mirrored to my monitor. This isn't a problem, because I configured X to switch resolutions (so the monitor is correct, and the TV disabled) as soon as X starts. But this doen't take into account the TTY screens and the other operating systems I have installed.
Is it possible to change the order of precedence of ports on my video card? Do any video cards support changing this?

Have you tried doing it through Catalyst Control Center (or whatever it's called these days)?
Or maybe there's some jumpers/headers on the card itself.
The only [remotely] similar experience I have had was with an nVidia card. It had VGA, DVI and HDMI. The HDMI was inactive during POST, and there was nothing could be done about it.

  • Any way to change the order of the items in the Files Inspector? DW CS4

    Hi,
I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 with my menus split virtically.
Is there any way to change the order of the items in the Files Inspector?
Specifially I'd like to have them in this order:
    | Local/Remote Files | Modified | Size | Type |
The reason being that next to the 'Local Files' the 'Modified' column is most impotant for putting updated files/images, and in split vertical mode I have to scroll right to see the 'Modified' column.
    Is this a feature request?

Is there any way to change the order of the items in the Files Inspector?
Yes, but it must be done on a site-by-site basis.
In the Site Definition dialog box, select File View Columns. You can control the position and display of columns there. The only one that can't be changed is Name.

  • Can I change the order of photos in Events

I am in the process of scanning my old film photos so that I can put them into iPhoto. As I have no scanner I take them to Wal Mart and scan them onto a CD then import them into iPhoto at home. Because the CD holds the photos from a number of events I then distribute them to a number of different Event folders.
Once I get all the photos into their correct Event folders I would like to rearrange their order. Using drag and drop, or cut and paste, simply leaves the photo in it's original location. If I use the 'Moving photos from one event to another' feature the moved photos will still go into the new Event folder in the same order as they were in the originating folder, regardless of what order I drag or paste them.
The help menu has topics on how to change the order of photos in a slideshow, book or calender, but not an event. I could arrange the photos beforehand so that they are scanned in the order in which I want them to appear in Events, but with 500+ photos in completely random order it will be fairly time consuming. It also will not help with the disc of photos I have already made.
So, to finally get to my question, does anybody know if there is a way to rearrange the order of photos within an Event folder?
    Rgds

Events are strictly time based. If you put those photos in an album and in the order you want, you can set their date and time by using the PHotos->Batch Change->Date and set the date and time you want with the checkbox to add the time differential you'd like between photos. That will reorder them in the Event also.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • I want to change the order that my 9 email accounts are listed on the left sidebar (folderpane?).

    Mac Snow Leopard

Suggestions have pointed me towards finding prefs.js file, but I can't find it (library/mozilla, libary/application support/mozilla not there nor in search function)

Really a pain as I need the more active accounts on top opened but not enough room with less active accounts stuck in the middle.

  • Can I change the order of lines in a drop-down menu?

Can I change the order of items on a drop-down menu? Specifically, the "open" menu that comes up when I right-click on a link.
Putting "open in new tab" on top of "in new window" makes sense, of course, since it is used more often. But I do a lot of surfing, and had the old position in muscle memory. Re-training my brain to click on the first line instead of the second is taking a long time, and makes me grumbly.
I'd love to put it back to the old order. Can I? and, if so, how do I do it? (Please give me detailed instructions, IOW, please assume I am a complete simpleton, because sometimes I am.)
    HP G62 w/ Win 7 home premium. If it matters, it's 64-bit.
And my old desktop, which has, yech, Vista. (I haven't upgraded it to F4 yet.)

  • Change the Order of Fields in the Search Lookup Form

    Hi guys,
The end user has requested me to change the order of the fields in the Search Lookup Form. I haven't found any configuration to change this order, so I changed the JSP (tjspLookupFormTiles.jsp) as below:
    <bean:define id="colIDsObj" name="lookupFieldForm" property="columnIDs"/>
    <%
    //Sort Column IDs
    String[] colIDs = (String[]) pageContext.getAttribute("colIDsObj");
    colIDs[0] = "Lookup Definition.Lookup Code Information.Decode";
    colIDs[1] = "Lookup Definition.Lookup Code Information.Code Key";
    %>
Is there any property where I can change this order without change the JSP File?
    Thanks,
    Renato.

I had a similar requirement in the past, but could not find any other way for doing this. It does not reverse the order even for lookup fields on USR forms, for which the encode and decode values are defined in formmetadata.xml. Changing jsp seems to be the only way, unless someone else knows better.
