SDI interface for Mac to connect to SE-800DV

I have three MacBook Pros (all with HDMI out) and a MacPro desktop (two HDMIs). I also own a DataVideo SE-800DV video switcher which allows you to connect a PC to it to overlay graphics for titling, animation, etc.
Does anyone have any experience putting a MBP/MacPro together with an SE-800DV for this purpose?
Can anyone recommend an SDI interface for the Mac...an inexpensive but effective one preferably!? (And preferably something external that I can use with one of the MBPs.)
Thanks for any help.

What application were you planning to use for the CG?

I actually don't know. I had been looking for options but didn't find many. Then I was thinking about using Keynote -- you can access layouts by page number and include animated portions with text. Note sure if that makes sense but would love any other suggestions.

  • Lync 2011 for MAC not connecting externally to On-Premise Lync 2013

    Hello,
Hopefully someone has some idea on this or a better direction for me to follow. So currently I have an issue where Lync 2011 for MAC clients will not connect when external to my On-Premise Lync 2013 servers. Everything to do with my Windows based clients
and even cell phone based client’s works just fine. It is currently only Lync 2011 for MAC which will not correct externally.
I did initially have the logon problem internally as noted by other posts online when using an internal CA certificate with Lync. But with the internal certificate imported onto the MAC when internally connected Lync 2011 will login just fine. Now in my
setup I do have a TMG server that clients are connecting to that forwards the connections onto my Lync servers when connecting externally. When I review live real time logs to see what’s connecting to the external URL for Windows based clients I can see them
connect in on port 443 no problem.
But with the MAC I don’t see any attempt from it to connect to the URL like I see with the Windows clients. Now below is what shows up in the Microsoft-Lync.log generated by the MAC. Now initially looking at the log I thought my problem was the fact when
Lync 2011 tires to connect when external that it was doing so on port 5061 which we don’t have open. So I tired entering external.mydomain.com:443 in for my external server in the setup.
And while rechecking the log after doing so shows like it is now trying to connect on port 443. When reviewing TMG I again see no connection attempt by the MAC to connect to the Lync external url or on port 443. Further research so far into the problem has
come up empty on the subject. And most other cases where people report problems connecting externally they are using some form of online service like Office 365. So at this point I am not even sure if Lync 2011 for MAC is supposed to work externally with On-Premise
Lync 2013 deployments or not. If anyone has an thought’s or idea’s please share them as at this point I am stuck on this issue.

    Hi Nicholas Sayewich,
I tested in my lab and without any problem.
I also use TMG as Reverse Proxy and without configuring SRV records (My ISP don’t support SRV), after importing the root certificate onto MacBook, I can sign into Lync everywhere(internal
    and external).
Please make sure that the certificate is set up to
    Always Trust .

the mac clients are running RDC for mac version 2.1 and they cannot connect to Windows 2008 R2 TS server. They get the error "You were disconnected from the Windows-based computer because of problems during the licensing protocol".
really appreciated if someone have a fix for this.
    thanks,

    Hey,
Any proposed answer for this ?
I face the same problem and my environment
and I've got same results as dle2k
    1. TS lic mode is set to per user confirmed it works for windows clients.
    2. the TS server's system log logged error "The Terminal Server security layer detected an error in the protocol stream and has disconnected the client".
    3. the reports shows per user cal has been issued to users. no temp per device cal has been issued.
    4. yes, CoRD works .
    5. we tried version 2.1.1 of the Mac RD Client but it also does not work.

  • Bridge for Mac loses connection with Xperia E4g

I am using a brand new Xperia E4g dual with Mac and PCs. At the beginning, the application was performing correctly, now, BfM starts, recognizes the phone and after a while ist says "Connection problems" and I cannot access the unit anymore (looks lik e a  timeout issue). Tried two different Mac plattforms with different OS version, same result, tried PC Companion platform, works fine, any help? Might there be a cache file which should be deleted?
    BfM Version 4.0 (4003)

    Hi Kazawaza!
Hi I have been in contact with the development crew now.
    Sorry for a late reply.
They don't know what the problem is.
So can you please send me your log-file so I can forward the log-file to the development crew.
Here’s how to get error logs from Sony Bridge for Mac:
    1. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the "Phone" menu. Select "Clear logs" to remove all old logs and get a clean start
    2. Reproduce the problem you're having, whether it's connecting the phone, importing photos, doing backup...
    3. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the ”Xperia” menu. Select "Export logs"
    4. On the computers desktop there should now be a file named "SonyBridgeForMacLogs_[date].zip
    5. PM a dropbox link with the file to me
    Best regard
    Fredrik

  • Fix for Mac not connecting to local network

    Hi,
I'm a uni student and I've had trouble connecting my Macbook Pro to the local Uni network so I can access computers connected to the network from my computer in my dorm. It worked perfectly fine the first day and then it stopped working. I contacted Apple today to fix the problem and was told to the following procedure:
OS X Mavericks: Reset your computer’s PRAM
It solved the issue perfectly and I also found the reason for why my Mac was not connecting. Well since I've got a few more devices at home I've setup 'Internet Sharing' on the Mac so my ethernet connection is shared wireless through the computer's built in router. Turning this function on for some reason blocks you out from accessing your network. So yea, I thought this might help anyone else who've had the same problem, since I couldn't seem to find it anywhere on the internet!

Not on this forum.  Classic Mac OS 9 is not the same as Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

  • Audio Interface for Mac OSX 10.4.7?!?!?

    Hey all,
After a lot of saving, tons of research and some patience I purchased an M-Audio Firewire solo. I thought alll was good, having checked the m-audio site which said it carried recent drivers for intel Macs. So I bring the interface home plug it in and while checking to see exactly which OS I was running, it turns out I have OSX 10.4.7, not .6 which is the most recent for this tool.
Gack!!!! I assumed I just run the latest updates and presto, .7 which is not carried by M-Audio yet.
So I calls M-Audio and the guy says 8-10 weeks!!!!! Wha???
anyone else with this problem? what's a guy to do? somhow install a less recent OS?
    Help....
    thanks!
    J :")

    Ok.
I installed the firewire solo and the latest driver for the firewire solo (10.4.6 intel - I have 10.4.7 intel but there are no drivers out there for that. This may be the problem... dunno)
I the went to audio prefs for my mac (not GB). Selected Firewire Solo as the audio input.
Output is listed as Line out output. I haven't ever changed this.
When I test the audio input plucking my guitar, it is picked up on the little sound meter.
When I sing (open air) nothing is picked up, which leads me to believe that the signal actually is the firewire solo and not the macs built in mic.
    I open GB3
I open an existing project that has only g piano listed.
I add a real instrument track.
    I select guitar>no effects.
my details on this track are as follows:
Input: 1 & 2 (stereo) - could this be the problem? Not sure, but I think I've checked them all.
    Volume at mid
    monitor on
all other volume settings are on mid... guitar (has volume knob), GB main volume, comp speaker, all mid. Maybe I'm missing a volume level?
check GB prefs - audio settings> audio output = built in output, Input = Firewire Solo.
No other settings have been modified.
Plucking guitar. GB is picking up nothing..... nadda. No static, no indicator lights.. nothing.
I am only assuming that if the mac picks up the signal but GB does not means that the FW solo is working as it should and that there might be a GB setting somewhere I've missed.
Whew.... ok.. does that help out all?
    Thanks everyone!!!!

  • Audio interface for mac

Hi guys, I have a mac pro 3.1 which i have used happily for many years with a motu 828mkII.
Sadly my interface is nearing the end of its life so i'm looking for a replacement.
I've been happy with the recordings made with the motu, but some of the minuscule knobs and switches
have been a constant irritant. I've been looking at Focusrite interfaces, both usb and firewire. Anyone have experience
of these babies?  Does anyone know if the usb models would work with a mac as old as mine or would i be wiser to stick with firewire?
Any advice or suggestions for alternatives gratefully recieved.

  • PcAnywhere for Mac?  Connect to PC

Does anyone know if there is a OS X software package that can connect to a PC running pcAnywhere? I know I can use VNC but am having trouble going that route over a VPN tunnel.
Any help would be greatl appreciated.

Well I just received my copy of Pcanywhere 12.0.
    I
tried to unstall it on my imac G5, I unfortunately
    received this error:
    Could not create directory /usr/local/lib
I cannot find any support for this type of error.
    I
looked to see if everything was updated according to
recommendations. However I cannot proceede past
this. The only option is to exit.
    Any help is greatly appreciated..
I was knocking my head on this one for a while.
I solved it by creating the directory in terminal
    with this command:
    sudo mkdir /usr/local/lib/pcAnywhere
I then changed the permissions on that directory from
system (read only) to my "user name" (read/write) and
it installed fine then. I left it read/write after
installation as 'thin host' needs it that way to
    store config files.
(There was also one other directory /usr/bin that I
had to change to read/write because the install
needed to write a temp file there. I changed that
back after the install completed without errors)
It's a shame that the geniuses at Symantec have no
clue that this is the problem and that there's
NOTHING posted in their support about this issue.
    Hope this helps someone.
    Rich
    PowerBook G4 1.67,
    MacMini 1.58   Mac OS X (10.4.1)
    I had the same problem...
Another way to solve the problem is to set up a "Root" level account and then log in to that account as the admistrator.. once you have a Root level account set up you will find a new log on when you start up computer.. log into the Root account using "root" as the user name and whatever the password you set when you created the root level account... once logged into the root account PC Anywhere will install... then log back into your user account and your program will work... I actually installed PC Anywhere again through the user account after I got it installed from the root level - but I am not sure if I would have needed to do that or not... but anyway all works fine now..
    Hope this helps someone...

  • Downgrade firmware for MAC not connecting

Help still, I have read through all the old posts regarding this downgrade, but really I have maxed myself out doing this and can't even find where to get the downgrade, i went to the FTP directory link in the post but sincerely can't even find it.  I have been at this for days, and really know nothing about any of this including the mac stuff my daughters were the ones to convince me this was the way to go.
Anyway please a link to what i have do to downgrade and get my life back.
    THANKS!

You don't exactly say which router and which posts. Do you mean this post?
    Check this link.... ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/
    Look for wrt54gv5_v6_fw_1.00.9_US_code.zip
Just search in the listing and you'll find. Or you paste it:

  • Twain Sane Interface for Mac O SX

I installed the libusb.pkg, sane-backends.pkg and TWAIN-SANE-Interface.pkg on my IMac because I could not get my Canon CanoScan Lide 35 to work injh Mavericks with Image Capture. I then discovered that there are no drivers available from Canon that actually allow Image Capture to work my scanner and have ordered a new Epson XP-312 printer/scanner. What I would like help with is whether it is OK to leave the packages that I installed on my computer or, whether I have to find them and remove them?

    Hi Carolyn
I am not sure if these packages were drivers or not?  My scanner always worked with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and then when I installed Mavericks it no longer functioned through Image Capture because there are no software updates for Mavericks for my model of scanner.
Although you say that Image Capture does not use drivers I could still use the scanner through the Canon Toolbox on my iMac but Cannon and Apple Support both said that my scanner would not work through Image Capture in Mavericks because there were no software updates available from Canon to facillitate that model.
So, I need to establish whether the packages ( I described in first post)  I installed are drivers and, if so how I go about removing them?

  • RDP 8.02438 for Mac lost connection when scroll on touchpad or mouse

    Hello
when I scrolled pages in win apps by using touchpad or apple mouse rdp lost connection and error message appears: "connection reset by peer"
It appear not always but if I switch from one apps to anther in launchpad and tries to scroll at once in active window(not always but often). But if after switching to that app I press somewhere inside active window by mouse I can scroll (in that case scroll
    always works correctly)
It seems that in RDP after switching to new app window it gets focus only after clicking inside active window.
It's difficult to me describe it exactly in english

  • MS Outlook For Mac

Does anyone know why I can access my work emails on my iPhone but when it comes to setting up the account in my MS Outlook for Mac, I can't?
I have tried quite a few permitations but I just don't manage to pull it off. Just for the record, the email account type is exchange.
    Thanks for your help, Mike

The following would explain what I suspect is the most likely cause.
When you configure an iPhone (or iPad) to connect to your MS Exchange account it will use a protocol called EAS (Exchange Active Sync), I would expect all companies to have enabled access to this protocol. However when you configure Outlook for Mac to connect to the same Exchange server it cannot use EAS as Outlook for Mac does not support this and instead uses EWS (Exchange Web Services). This is a totally different protocol and very little software uses it other than Outlook for Mac the only other notable example of an application that uses it is Apple Mail. Outlook for Windows generally uses MAPI which Outlook for Mac does not support.
As a result many enterprise users of Exchange might start off with not having EWS enabled on their server or blocked by their network firewall.
Therefore it looks like you need to speak to the IT department and get them to check this and if necessary enable EWS access.
