SDK 8.8 indirect access

Hi all,
in case a company wants to use third party addons, it is required to purchase DI Server or is enough to run it from Professional user Indirect Access ?

If a company just wants to use third party addons, it is not required to purchase DI Server. DI API will handle all.

Access to graphical components in AddOn Forms with Indirect Access Licence

Hi,
we have been developing an add on whose forms contain SAP Business One graphical components such as Calendar, Choose from list, calculator..
Our users who have indirect access licence havent' access to the graphical components Calendar and Calculator whereas they have access to choose from list.
SAP communicated in the fact that Indirect Access Licence doesn't allow user to have access to SAP Business One forms but nothing is mentioned about the graphical components used in Add On forms.
Moreover the difference of behaviour between Calendar and choose from list is not logic.
Do you know if SAP intends to fix this problem and allow users with Indirect Access Licence to have access to graphical components in Add On forms ?

SDK 3.1 UIImagePickerController access real time image

SDK 3.1 has a much better UIImagePickerController. It claims that you can access the real time image without closing the controller. Could anyone tell me exactly how to access the image?

Java ME Platform SDK 3.0 Early Access 'Help' menu - missing topics

I can't get to the Help topics.
The 'Contents' tab works, but there's nothing under either Index or Search.
Should I download something else?

Did you check Release Notes of the SDK? I've seen it once - if memory serves it lists quite a lot of known bugs.
Maybe the problem you describe is listed there too... and if you're really lucky then description may even mention some workaround for it.

Security - Indirect access to transaction for user

User is processing SM35 line and gets and authorization error because has no access to KB51N. We want to grant access to the transaction needed, but not give direct access (via Transaction Window) to the user. Is this possible, and if yes, how?

As this discussion leads into the wrong direction, I simply reply to the initial question now.
Please note that using SYSTEM for administrative purposes is highly discouraged and directly granting privileges to any single user will invariantly lead to massive problems once you try to manage permissions in a production environment.
Instead take the small additional effort and create roles with the appropriate privileges for their use cases.
In How to Define Standard Roles for SAP HANA Systems Richard Bremer provides samples for how to create roles that are transportable and that split the privileges in a reasonable way for many multi-user scenarios.
Whatever you do: disable SYSTEM user after setting up your privilege management. It's not the god-like user you seem to want anyway. So, when you need to grant privileges anyhow, you can do it in a sustainable way from the start.

Can someone please brief me how we can use the Access Server SDK and purpose of it

Its an SDK to impement you own custom Access Gate.
Typically OAM is used to protect Web applications but if you want to protect a Windows Client server application / Microsoft Smart Client type of applications, you can write Custom Access Gate and protect the resource.
the Advantage of OAM is to define resources and policieis in one central place and enforce those policies. You can leverage Access Server SDK to implement custom access gate.
its also used in directly if you have both OAM and OWSM.
I have used it to protect Smart client applications ( Microsoft client server app) , Web Services that are called from a Web Application which is protected by OAM ( passing the same cookie in the header and validating the privileges)

SDK download Access Denied

When i try to download the iPhone SDK, i got an Access Denied page, with an error code of V3 (if i remember correctly)...
am i doing something wrong?
or is this some bandwidth problem?
i'm from Hungary. is this matters?

OAM Access SDK

Hi there,
I am trying to set up an Access Gate on my OAM server.
When I run the "configureAccessGate.exe -i c:\oracle\access -t AccessGate -w AG-SDK" I keep getting "Access Server you specified is currently down. Please check your Access Server."
However, when I run the "configureWebGate.exe -i c:\oracle\Webgate\access -t Webgate -w Webgate1", using the same parameters, it runs successfully. (on the same machine)
So I know that the server is up and running and the parameters are correct.
Anyone encountered that issue?

Are you trying to configure automatic cache flush b/w Identity System and Access System ?.
If Yes, while running configureAccessGate utility, you have to mention the Access Server SDK installation path available in the Identity Server installation directory.
Example: configureAccessGate -i <IdentityServer_install_dir/identity/AccessServerSDK> -t AccessGate -w <Access Gate ID defined in Access System Console>
If you are implementing your own Access Gate (custome WebGate) then use below steps:
1. Install Access Server SDK.
2. Run below utility
configureAccessGate -i <AccessServerSDK Install Folder> -t AccessGate -w <Access Gate ID defined in Access System Console>
In both cases observe the value of paramter "-i"
Note: If all OAM components are NOT on the same machine then make sure clocks are synchronized across all machines.

MessageBox with Indirect Acces license on SBO 8.8

Hello,
We are experiencing problems with the Indirect Access license on SBO 8.8.
We can't use the Application MessageBox in our AddOn.
The messagebox displays the message, but when the user aswers by clicking on the buttons, the system returns the error :
HRESULT : 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT)
This error doesn't occur with a SAP Professional User license.
The error occurs on this type of code :
oApplication.MessageBox('Question', 1,'Bouton1Text', 'Bouton2Text') = 1 Then
Because of that, we can't use an Indirect Access license on our Add On...
Do you know if it's a correct behavior ?
Can we do otherwise ?

"Indirect Access u2013 can access any SSP solutions (developed with the SAP Business One DI-API)
only. Indirect access license is bundled with the DI server. Users who have an indirect access license
can access limited number of application forms, but cannot perform any functions with SAP Business
One application. Users who have an indirect access license can access an unlimited number of SSP
solutions."
An Add-on Access User ...
"SAP Business One Add-on-Access User - can access the SAP Business One software through a
third-party product approved by SAP. This user applies as follows:
If a customer uses a solution (add-on/extension) developed by a SAP Business One VAR with the
SAP Business One Software Development Kit (SDK), using the Application Programming Interface/s
(API/s), a SAP Business One Add-on-Access User must be licensed.
If customers run several partner solutions, they need to license one SAP Business One Add-on-
Access User for each running solution.
The SAP Business One Add-on-Access User enables customers to use only Partnersu2019 Solutions
without having to license an SAP Business One Professional User. The SAP Business One Add-on-
Access User includes limited functionality of SAP Business One that is part of the integration between
the Partner Solution and SAP Business One."

Java ME Platform SDK - S60 Emulator Problem

Hi Everyone!
I am new to S60 development. I searched the forum, and some other discussion forums but could not find any solution to my problem (If there is one in this forum, sorry about that).
I installed Java ME Platform SDK 3.0 Early Access. I also installed Java SDK for S60-FP1, and added this platform to my IDE with no problems.
The problem is, I can write and execute my code on S60 emulator, but Java IDE has got this annoying exception blinking on the bottom right side saying: "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Device S60Emulator not registered!". As I said, I can run the application, but I cannot debug because of some exceptions!
Why this can be happening, can it be a misconfiguration or something?

Does Sun ONE Application Server 7 contains J2EE SDK and can I access packages in my own Java programs without using any IDE such as Studio 4?
If yes, what version of SDK is included?

Sun ONE Application Server 7 is J2EE 1.3.1 compliant AppServer. you can access the packages in your java programs but you need to check correct jar files since the packages in jar for Sun ONE AppServer may be different from J2EE SDK.

IPhone: photo jpg access

I'd just like someone to confirm for me that iPhone apps built using the SDK cannot have read access to the jpgs stored at /var/root/Media/DCIM/100APPLE (or in any other way access the original photo files created by the camera)
What happens if you attempt to read files at that path using NSFileManager?
If we can read files at that path then great.
If we don't have read access to those file then for photo upload we need to do the following:
- use the image picker to get the UIImage of the selected image,
- write to a new JPEG file using UIImageJPEGRepresentation
- upload that new image file.
Unfortunately, don't we lose the EXIF info that was in the original JPEG file?
Is there any way to retain that info?

EJB 2.0 access to java.io.

I would like to create session bean which will indirectly access java.io through Lucene (indexing engine). Is this allowed. C.1.2 (Programming restrictions) states "...enterprise bean must not use the java.io package to ttempt to access files and directories in the file system. The file system APIs are not well-suited for business components to access data. Business components should use a resource manager API, such as JDBC API, to store data."

The EJB spec does not allow support of this. However, it is doable if you open up permissions to the container but this may not be portable.
For portability I would look at other alternatives in your design

SAP Design Studio SDK Editing

Hi,
I am an SAP BIBO consultant. One month before I started using Design Studio 1.2.
Is there any document that will help in BIAL coding???.
Can anyone please show me from the scratch how I can edit the existing standard components in the Design Studio through SDK. I have tried up the addition of Custom components(Colored Box, Google Maps) in Design Studio. That worked fine. But my issue in modifying or editing existing components. How I can import those standard components to Eclipse and how to start editing???
Also one more thing, please show me from where I can download the UI Development Kit (SAP UI5) for Design Studio 1.2. and how to install the same.

2. It is not possible to modify the functionality of the standard Design Studio components via the SDK. You can however modify the appearance of standard components by applying CSS as shown in this tutorial video.
3. You do not need to download the UI5 Development Kit to incorporate UI5 controls into SDK components. To access a UI5 control you need to develop the component using Handler Type "sapui5". The approach is described in Section 6 SDK Extensions Using SAPUI5 Controls of the Developer Guide. You can also download the SDK Templates and Samples which include UI5 examples.
