SDKSILENT property in J2SE 5 Update 6

What does the property SDKSILENT do in the MSI pacakge? I have tried it with and without and I don't notice any difference.

sorted the problem
downloaded Windows Installer CleanUp Utility,
went into program files,
found the folder,
ran the utility,
removed offending article,
downloaded proper version of J2SE ,
evrything seems rosy in the garden

BPC 7.5 - Multiple Usernames in the owner property for Work Status Update

Good Day,
We have an issue in our BPC system, where our organisation dimension(entity) has an owner property which is maintained with multiple usernames. The issues comes in when we have to update the Work status for locking. The system recognises the first username as the owner property and only that first username can change or update the workstatus in BPC. We have a problem with that because we have a team of people that manages process.
The error that we get when one of the usernames other than the first one tries to update the work status is - "User not a Manager/Owner, Work status cannot be updated".
Please advise of the solution we are BPC 7.5 SP17

J2SE Runtime update problem (win32/Firefox)

I am installing the J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6 for Firefox 1.0.6 and am getting the error:
Error 1335. The cabinet file `jc150000[1].cab` required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
The update is being downloaded live and yes I quit Firefox before proceeding.
My OS is Windows 98 SE.
When I click "Retry" it just gives the same error again.

You'd likely be safe to remove updates 5, 6, 7 and 9.
Chances are you can delete J2SE 5, seeing as how you have J2SE 6, but your browser may not be configured for J2SE 6. (First, ensure that your browser IS set to J2SE6 and you're likelys afe to delete J2SE5 and all of its updates.) Note that I said likely. I can't possibly come up with every scenario...

Cant uninstall j2se 5 update 6

When I try to use the uninstaller (add/remove program) it runs to about 90%
then shows an error box

[WMI] QFE InstalledOn date property differs from GUI "update history", WMI bug?

When I use get-hotfix (uses WMI under the hood) on a Windows 2012 box to retrieve the Installdate for windows hotfixes, there is a difference between the date Powershell reports and the date visible in the update history GUI.

The GUI shows an install date of July 11th, where the get-hotfix shows an install date of September 21st.
The hotfix is installed in July, not in September. it doesn't seem to be a date formatting issue.
Is this a known issue? if so is there a fix available?

Updating to j2se 5, update 7 (jre and jdk) problems..

I'm runnin win98se, and meet all the minimum requirements..Well I just installed both the jdk and the jre using the online installation. Where did the jdk go? I have no idea what folder the javac.exe file is, so I can't compile anything. Any suggestions? And will the jre be automatically update when I use java.exe command?

jdk go?Even Win98 SE has a file search. Plus, since Windows installs everything into "Program Files" or what it's called if not directed otherwise, I'd have a look there.

Updatable View as data block source - can't get to work

I have created a simple form with one data block based on an updatable view, but it doesn't work properly after the form executes a query.
I can use DML on this view using SQL*Plus and it works as it should.
DML works in the form too, but only until I execute a query, after that I get the "FRM-40602: cannot insert into or update a view" error each time I try an insert, update, or delete.
This is repeated for each runtime of the form. I have set the "query only" property to yes for the non-DMLable item from the view so that isn't part of the problem. This is an example out of "Developer Advance Forms and Reports (page 112) - Oracle Press" so it should work. There is nothing else (code, triggers, etc...) in this module besides the one data block.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have had the same issue and had to go through Oracle Support to get it working.
First of all make sure that you have a recent patch installed (patch 9 as being the latest one available).
Second, set in the data block the property key mode to updatable and the property primary key to yes for one item of the data block. (this is bug 1561423)
Make sure that you only modify those columns that are updateable.
Quite a large number of bugs have been reported on the concept of updatable views and the installation of a recent patch will most definitely get you working again.
This functionality does work !

Multi-table data block with update

My data block is set up by joining 3 tables. Only 1 table is
set up as updatable. The columns from the other 2 tables are
set in property palette as not updatable. But when I try to
update the data block row, I get: FRM-40501 ORACLE error:
unable to reserve record for update or delete.
I have tried using an updatable view in the data block and even
wrote an INSTEAD TRIGGER for the update but I receive the same
message.

HAL not updating change in properties

Hi John,
When we tried to push members changing their property HAL is not updating the changed property in hyperion
Ex-- If i have member Account with TB LAst as its property in the source and using HAL we pushed this member to Hyperion. Now i changed the property from TB Last to None in the source and used HAl to push the member. But it is still showing TB last in the hierarchy.

Which HAL adapter are you using, Essbase or Planning? Where are you looking for the updated property, in Essbase or Planning?
If you're not already, what you should be doing is use the Planning adapter to update the property in Planning, and then refresh Essbase from Planning. When you've done those two things, and assuming there haven't been any errors in the HAL integration, you should see the updated property in both Essbase and Planning.
Of course, you have to run the HAL integration as a user with sufficient privileges in the Planning application to make metadata changes.

Disable profile option updation at user level

I want to disable the profile option HR: Security Profile or for that matter any other profile option at user level. The user should be able to see the value set by the system administrator (Field should be grayed out) and user should not be able to update it.
How to do it??

Try a personalization combined with custom PLSQL, like this:
1) Acces System Profiles
2) Help->Diagnostics->Custom Code->Personalize
3) In the newly displayed Form Personalization form, create a line with a description like this: Prevent modification of USER_VISIBLE_VALUE
4) In the Conditions tab, set Trigger Event = WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE
5) Set Trigger Object = PROFILE_VALUES.USER_VISIBLE_VALUE
6) In the Condition text area, enter:

Pls be aware that testing first on a test instance is always advisable.

TestStand not updating th description after using the edit substep

I've created numerous custom steps in TestStand. None of them will update the description after I use the edit substep and change some of that steps properties. As an example, I have the following step description...
str(Step.Channel.DeviceName)
After I use the edit substep, which changes step.Channel.DeviceName, the description does not update. However, if I then open the properties menu for that item and either select "OK" of "Cancel" to leave the property window, it then updates to the correct values. Placing down a new step will also force the description to update. While this is not functionally causing any problems, it would be nice if the descriptions updated immediatly.

The reason it doesn't update is because the sequence editor doesn't know that the sequencefile has changed so it doesn't know to redraw that window. You can force it to redraw the window by calling the method IncChangeCount from the PropertyObjectFileClass. If you increment the change count it should automatically update the description as soon as your edit substep completes. Also a piece of advice, in the future if you have TestStand questions, you can probably get a quicker answer to them by posting on the TestStand forums, even if it is using the TestStand API in another programming environment like LabVIEW or CVI. Hope this helps!

I'd like to know if there are more possibilities especially when a control is used. we can always right a value into an indicator when an indicator is used.

Ok, so the CLD could be a moving target. I posted these question in an email and now awaiting an answer.
What are the criteria used to grade the CLD exam? What are the specific finding and recommendations used when determining a grade?
In two instances of taking the CLD the graders comments are shown below.
After a comparison of the two cases, here are my comments. “Property nodes and local variable are not to be used”. I’ve posted a question asking what other ways are there to programmatically update a control. “Unnecessary bends in wires are not to be used”. What criteria determine when a wire bend is unnecessary? Should all wires not have bends thus bends in wires are not allowed? “Errors not handled….error terminal on property node not wired”. As I read the exam requirements, I did not come across a case to handle an error in any step. Simply connecting an error terminal and providing a case doesn’t handle errors. I’m almost certain my code in Case2 does not generate programmatic errors. “NOT gate used rather than inverted input where available”. Are you saying NOT gates are not be used, is there some advantage? Maybe I was able reuse duplicate code in Case2 and in one of the cases the NOT gate was appropriate since is read well on a block diagram and the change was effortless.
Case1:
Style: Overly complex solution. Property Nodes used to update values. Unnecessary bends in wires. Error terminals on property nodes unwired. Errors not handled.
Functionality: Application not fully implemented. Logic of implementation is not correct. Boolean latch action is not implemented where necessary.
Documentation:
Case2:

I have no idea what NI is looking for as far as “Style”. Lets define this and have a point system in place for determining “Style”. What “Style” allocates 15 points in the CLD exam?

Commit updated date problem???

I have db block where I execute 14 records at a time (using a where clause in the blocks property pallette) and then update/delete the data..
The block has five coilumns
A,B,C,D
A,B,C,D are jointly primary key..(i.e. they cannot be repeated combined)
the problem is that when I execute the query and then update the values and then press F10 to save, the values are not updated
suppose i execute query and the following data is displayed in the form
A       B       C      D
12      11     1201    1
12      11     1202    2
12      11     1203    3
12      11     1204    4
12      11     1205    5       now suppose I change all executed values in the block like that
A       B       C      D
12      11     1205    1
12      11     1204    2
12      11     1203    3
12      11     1202    4
12      11     1201    5       and now to update when i press the F10 key to save all the changes the form displays an error saying
ORA-00001: unique constraint (TSW.IB) violated
I am unable to find why it is happening..which constarnt for which record is being violated..
please help me to solve this..

What you are trying to do here is impossible this way. Forms processes records one at a time, So when you are trying to change 1st record column C from 1201 to 1205 you get an error, since a record with 1205 already exists.
You will have to programmatically change the PK some other way, e.g. update 1201 to 12010 first, then 1205 to 1201, then 12010 to 1205.
