SDM help

Hello,
I've just purchased an 1841 router but I can't make SDM work properly. It loads fine, but not all 'config' buttons work. On the 'Intrusion Prevention' button it sais to increase java heap size to 256MB and I did, but no change. The thing is that I have also installed ASDM for an ASA and that runs just perfect. Can anyone help me??
Thanks.

Download CCP http://www.cisco.com/go/ccp and use the JRE java 6 update 17 for use with it. If you have a higher version of JRE, it will not work.  CCP is the replacement for SDM since the product is end of life .

Answering your second query you can run both GRE/IPSEC on 2811 provided you have the required ios feature set installed to support ipsec.

    Hi,
its is due to duplicate deploymet in SDM Repository.
    Try this out..
1)Take a backup copy of the sdmrepository.sdc file from       \usr\sap\<SID>\JC<instno>\SDM\program\config\
    2)Stop the SDM from MMC.
3)Edit the sdmrepository.sdc file using WordPad.
4)In the deploy container part of the SDM repository (this is the second half of the  file  between the <DeploymentContainer> pair of tags),  search for the string " 2"
5)if you found more than one value. delete all except one...
6)Delete all space between the <SdaDeployment> pair for deployment with ID "com.sap.sen.permissions 2", including the <SdaDeployment> tags .
(A corrected repository should not contain any IDs with trailing numbers.)
7)Try the above procedure for occurrences of " 3", " 4", ... " N"(normally you will not find the occurance of "2" more than once..so u can ignore the rest.
    8)     Save the file and restart the SDM

  • SDM Config Help

Hi. I have a 2811 that I want to use as a IPsec, VPN Gateway. I'm using the SDM CD that came with the software. When I run the Firewall Wizard to create my security profile, it won't let me move the slide-bar up to "High" for maximum security. It defaults at "Low"
My goal is to lock-down the "outside" interface to permit IPsec only (for my VPN tunnels). Can you recommend a "profile" that I can use to lock it down?
    Many Thanks

    Hello Peter,
You will be able to see and choose that medium and high profiles if you upgrade your IOS to latest version.

  • Error while deploying ear-file to J2EE via NWDS/SDM

    Hi everybody,
i have a problem deploying an ear-file. I was looking for similar cases in forums, but didn't find anything. My application is developed by jsp/servlets. The deployment aborts with following error-massage:
Caught exception during application deployment from SAP J2EE Engine's deploy API:

Reason: java.io.IOException: Stream closed
I don't know what the reason could be. The application is running on tomcat. And I can deploy other applications to j2ee with nwds/sdm.
Maybe somebody had or has the same problem. Or somebody knows the answer for the problem. Please help, points will be regarded. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Dipankar,
I can't tell you the cause why you are facing this problem.
But I can suggest you a way that you can once again check the availability of plugins in your NWDS.
    Contents of  "gp_TopLevelDCs.zip" are
    <b>1) sap.com caf eu gp api wd.dcref
    2) sap.com caf eu gp api.dcref</b>
    And
    Location to Extract gp_TopLevelDcs.zip=>
    <b>C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse\plugins\com.sap.tc.ap_2.0.0\comp\CAF\SCs\sap.com\CAF\_comp\TopLevelDCs</b>
    Contents of "gp_api_nw04s.zip" are-->
    <b>1) api(folder)</b>
    Location to Extract gp_api_nw04s.zip=>
    <b>C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse\plugins\com.sap.tc.ap_2.0.0\comp\CAF\DCs\sap.com\caf\eu\gp</b>
    <b>I'm using NWDS 7.0.06</b>
Just check if  this info can help you out.
Do make a reply if you stiil face the problem.

  • J2ee Admin User locked on SDM Deployment - BI 7.0 and EP 7.0

    Hi,
We had a recent issue on BI iview publishing from the BEX WAD 7.0 in our Production Portal server.
The BEX WAD had the error " Java communication error"
" An Error occured during communication with the BI Components of the J2ee engine"
We traced down to identify that the current stack NW 7.0 SP14 BI Components had issues and had to patch to the next level
However, during deployment of the patch using SDM, the components (all) failed posting the following error. The SDM deployment got struck and the J2ee Engine user j2ee_admin was locked.
Only a restart of the j2ee engine is allowing us to get the Visual Admin connected. But the SDM deployment again is failing and admin user gets locked. Is there any tested solution to solve this.
    Kindly help asap.

    Hi Anup,
The restart unlocks the j2ee engine admin user and i am able to login to Visual admin and SDM and not otherwise (SDM is hanged and doesnot allow another session and hence only restart helps me to get into SDM again)
Admin Pwds reset etc from config tool secure store and all possible solutions have been tried before restart.
However, after restart, when we try to deploy again, the deploy fails saying the same msg
Caught exception while checking the login credentials for SAP J2EE Engine. Check whether the SAP J2EE Engine is up and running.com.sap.engine.deploy.manager.DeployManagerException: ERROR: Cannot connect to Host: [xxx] with user name: [j2ee_admin]check your login information.

  • Please help, unable to synchronize and run Applications NW2004s

    Hi All,
I am newbie (no only for mobile, them for SAP)  i can't run any example! and i really need for your help:
I have a Pentium IV +2GB RAM + Windows server 2003 + Oracle ( I them try to install the system in a Xeon but i have problems with the SDM password so i can't update the Java Components to  SP 10).
    <b>The Enviroment:</b>
    <b>Sever called erick:</b>
    1) First i install NW2004s  ABAP + JAVA + MI 7.0, SP 6 over Oracle 10.2
    2) After that i Update:
    Kernel to version 83
SAINT, ABA, Basis to SP 10
JSPM, NWCLIENT, NWLAP, NWADMIN, NWDRIVERS to SP 10 for MI 7.0
    3) After that, i used the MI template going to my server: http://erick:50100/nwa, login as J2EE_ADMIN, deploy & changes.... it appears to work... but when a login into the web system it says:
System Landscape Directory is not accessible.
Local System Only can be administrate. (maybe here is the key)
    <b>On the Client side:</b>
Windows XP + NW developer Studio Version: 7.0.10 + MI Client (I extract this from the NWCLIENTNT10_0-20000910.SCA, SAP Mobile Infrastructure, Version MI 70 SP10 Pacht 0 )
NW developer Studio is Configured in this form (Using Windows -> Preferences -> MI Development)
MI Folder: C:\Archivos de programa\SAP Mobile Infrastructure (Archivos de Programas  (Spanish) = Program Files)
    Java SDK tools.jar file: C:/j2sdk1.4.2_08/lib/tools.jar, I can't change it.
MI server name: localhost (I think this is Wrong, this have to be erick?, i will try with this)
    MI weapp TCP port: 4444
Command line to launch browser: cmd /C    start iexplorer
    Awt runtime:
MI Home Folder: C:\Archivos de programa\SAP Mobile Infrastructure (C) (I extract this from the NWCLIENTNT10_0-20000910.SCA too)
MI Logon Information: eilarraza, this user was the one that i create to update the system in the server, it has: SAP_ALL, and SAP_NEW permissions.
Password: The Master Password of the system.
When a push the Test Setting button, it works!
    <b>MI Client Configuration:</b>
    USER: eilarraza
    Client: 000
    Languaje: EN
    Country: Venezuela
    Time Zone: ACT
    <b>Synchronization:</b>
    Protocol: http
    Host: erick
    Port: 50100
    System: ERI
    Proxy: NO, we used DHCP.
    <b>Problem:</b>
I am Unable to synchronize with MI server.
    I import a .war file, i export It, but a i can't run It.
Searching in the forum i arrive to a Excellent BLOG: http://jogel.sdn.googlepages.com/milad
(Literally i read all the BLOG, is very good for the newbies, it is a excellent work)
I Install the mobile application using a tool called LAD, i restart the MI Client, and the application is Installed!!! But when a try to Syncronized it i received the same error:
    Syncronization Started.
Connection Set up (without proxy) to http://erick:50100/sap/bc/MJC/mi_host?~sysid=ERI&
    Connection to server failled
Problems in the Syncrhonization Not Found 404; The server has not found anything matching the URI given.
Basically i can't Syncrhonaze the MI Client with the Server. I search in the Forum, Documentation, Google, Blogs, etc etc, Surely is a configuration problem, please i need some tips.
    Best Regards,
    Erick Ilarraza

    Hi Jo Santiago, Sivakumar V
Thanks a lot for your help!
<b>Jo</b>: I made Pings to erick:
Ping statistics for xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: (i removed the local ip)
    Packects: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0  (0% loss), Works perfect.
nslookup does not work, maybe because all the machines are in a local network.
I am investigating about: ICM Logon and SLD. I don't know what it is that, i Remember that in the installation phase i say NO when he ask me to install the SLD.
    <b>Sivakumar:</b>
After the 3 Steps, the services (that were down) now are UP but when a try to test the service he ask me for:
Enter username and password for "SAP Web Application Server [ERI] at http://erick:8001
I try with <b><i>J2EE_ADMIN + Master Password</i></b>, I always use this user to go into the Web Server.
    Logon failed.
    Note
Logon performed in system ERI .
Logon performed for client 001 and language EN.
Them i try with: SAP*, and eilarraza (SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW permissions)
    It does not work.
After i try to synchronize the MI Client (with the services mi_host and mi_services UP). But it does not work.
So who is exactly the middleware user? The J2EE_ADMIN? or the one that i create with SAP* to update the system to SP10 (It has SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW permissions, in my case is called eilarraza) Maybe the problem is that i a not using the correct user in the MI Client configuration neither in the test of the service.
    Best Regards,
    Erick Ilarraza

  • Please Help - Only Some Port Forwards Working

    Hi all,
I have the most annoying issue with a Cisco 887VA-K9 port forwarding. Some port work while other don’t and I just can’t see why, however I suspect it is a zone based firewall (ZBF) issue.
Port forwards on the follow ports all work fine:
External port 8021 to 192.168.4.253 on port 80 works
External port 8022 to 192.168.4.253 on port 8022 works
All the rest don’t. I also have SIP phones sitting outside the LAN which are unable to register through the internet with the PBX unit which is in the DMZ network 192.168.4..0
Any help would be great appreciated as this sending me mad. Fully running config below.
    Louise ;-)

It turns out the problem had nothing to do with wires or splitters.  The Verizon tech was at my house yesterday and the ONT was failing.  He replaced part of the ONT and it fixed the problem (finally!).  At least I was able to watch the Celtics game last night.
I have a Tellabs ONT.  Not sure the model but it's older like the ones in this thread.

  • SDM agent is not registered with SDM server of Solution Manager server

    Hi,
We are in process of configuring EWA report for JAVA stack of SAP system along with ABAP stack. For ABAP stack the EWA report generation is straight forward and it is working fine. We are facing the problem while configuring EWA report for JAVA stack. Pls. find below the steps that we have followed and currently where we are stuck,
    1) Installation of Willy introscope on Solman server.
    2) Define JAVA component for each SAP system in SMSY
    3) Installation of SDM Agent on all managed systems
    4) Trying to attach SDM Agent to SDM server(solman) with the use of smdsetup.bat (managingconf & sldconf ).still we are getting error in smd agent log file as given below:
    ===============
    Nov 24, 2011 6:16:09 PM [Thread[Connector,5,main]] Info       [p4://xxxx.xxxx.int:8103] Checking server availability...
Nov 24, 2011 6:16:39 PM [Thread[Connector,5,main]] Error      Failed to connect to SMD server - user: SMD_ADMIN
Nov 24, 2011 6:16:39 PM [Thread[Connector,5,main]] Warning    Connecting to SMD server p4://xxx.xxx..int:8103 failed - error counter: 0 - com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NamingException: Exception while trying to get InitialContext. *     Nested exceptions are:*
    *     com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.P4IOException: Cannot open connection on host: xx.xx.xx.xx and port: 8103*=================
    5) The solman_setup t-code execution is successful in Solman server.
    6)  Trying to configure Technical system for JAVA system type through solman_setup : At this time we are getting another error as shown below:
    ========
The Managed System does not fulfil the Diagnostics prerequisites
Software with prerequisite are incorrect: Found SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00 with sp level 0, minimum sp level required is 9: Please install or upgrade the required software component.========
I have gone through the SAP note: 1274287 : My solman system is already on the required patch level for LMservice and St 400 SP. Also, the managing systems Java patch level is more then sp06 which is minimum level required.
I need your help to know, why i am getting this SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00 patch level error although my Java stack is up to date with the required patches.
    Waiting for your reply friends.
    Regards,
