SDM instance is shown stopped status
Hi,
I am appling a note 905856 after that SDM instance is shown stopped status.
I already started je22 engine and restarted SDM 3 to 4 times but no status is changed.
I need some expert comments .
Help will be rewarded.
Regards,
Gurprit Bhatia
Hi,
Kindly check what trace file says..check if SDM is in integrated mode and not on standalone.Because sometimes deploying components through SDM command prompt, we take SDM to standalone mode and then once deployment is over, we take it to integrated mode. So kindly check its mode

Worst update ever! On my Vista everything is wrong! Back button never active; If I want open pages as new tab it opens new window; FF starts with blank page instead of Google; No url address shown on status bar when I move mouse arrow on the link etc.. Please Help!
Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.
''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.''
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
* You can open the Firefox 4.0+ SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running.
''Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
'''''If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.
Tomcat is hanging as a stopping status when we try to stop it.
Hi,
We are using BOE 3.1 SP6 Patch 1. We believe that our Tomcat ( version 7.0.40 ) has a problem because we could not view BO Infoview Screen one or
two times in every months. So we have to restart the Tomcat. If Tomcat start successfully, our BO Infoview screen can be viewed and working in success. But for most of times, when we restart Tomcat, it stays as a stopping status and not getting stopped status.
We wonder that why Tomcat's status is stopping?
Do you have any idea about this case?
I have attached some of log files of Tomcat belonging to when we face this problem.
Best Regards,
CihangirHi Hrishikesh,
Our Maximum memory pool has not been entered any value so far, now we set it to 2048 MB.
Our MaxPermSize is 320 MB as before. We have not changed it.
Our Server has 8 Cores, 32 GB RAM,
Thanks for your helps,

SIA in stopped status after installation of SAP BO BI 4.0 SP02 Full Build
SIA in stopped status after installation of SAP BO BI 4.0 SP02 Full Build Version
Regards
KapilHi Kapil,
Please post your question in the SAP Business Objects Administration.
Here you can only post questions to Integration Kit.
I think the installation of the default CMS database provided with BI 4.0 i.e SQL Server 2008 Express Edition was not proper.
Go to CCM.
Go to SIA Properties and select the Configuration tab.
Click on the option Specify for CMS database.
Repoint the CMS to any other available 64 bit Database.
Start SIA.
If the SIA starts then that was the issue.
Please post in the proper category for further assistance. -
EWA thethe session is shown in status "Data is available"
Hi,
In the EarlyWatch Alert Operations screen the session is shown in status "Data is available" (icon with two small bottles) with the description The service is ready to process session data.
Background job 'SM:EXEC SERVICES' is finished successfully. Few systems EWA report is generated and *for few systems the EWA is not generated and the status is The service is ready to process session data*
ISSUE : Few systems the session is shown in status "Data is available" (icon with two small bottles) with the description The service is ready to process session data.
As an alternative running the session manually from DSA.
Request you to help me to resolve this issue.
Regards
ReddyHi Reddy,
What ST-SER patch level you are?
For the background job sm:exec services, it should be scheduled via
the transaction
solman_setup->Basic configuration->Automatic Configuration
->Schedule background jobs
of course you can also manually schedule it. This job generally runs
daily at 00:30:00.
Also check:
Following notes provide also details about the EWA functionality and
troubleshooting.
976054 - Availability of EWA for Non ABAP components
1332428 - Missing data in service sessions from BI/CCDB

Thanks,Hi,
Can you find any errors in Workflow log file?
Please go through the following documents, it should be helpful in troubleshooting the issue.

Application hangs in STOPPING status - NW04s
Occassionally, when manually stopping an application from the deploy service inside of Visual Administrator, the application stays in a STOPPING status. The only way that we have been able to get it out of this STOPPING status is to restart the entire server node. Has anyone else experienced this? The application is a web dynpro component with runtime/deploy references to another web dynpro applicaion and an EJB application.
Is there another way to "force" a shutdown of an application without having to restart the entire server node? After the initial stop_app call, no other operations are allowed on the application. I don't see anything in the logs after the initial stop attempt of the application....only the messages after trying to stop it or start it again.
thanks
EricWhen this happens next time...try looking at the locking service to see if there are locks the server may be waiting for...

I needed to shutdown my database (10.2.0.4). I issued the following command:
shutdown immediate;but the database is still up. What can I do ?So, now your instance has been stop. Are you able to restart the database by startup command ?
An experienced (little sense too) DBA never go for shutdown abort, because its a knife and it have its own usages and dangers. Without looking into alert log; issuing shutdown abort may/may not cause ANY issue.
No one is going to give you appraisal, if your db starts up after shutdown abort, but if db goes to complete crash, then ... (my figures stopped...)
This is not a way to resolve the issue. First one should have the knowledge what exactly is shutdown immediate? Why it is not going to shut down? You are using Oracle database, not a toy or a game or a simple GUI application which have its limited scope.
I shall pray, db should be started up without any issue.

Step 001 started (program SAPF110S, variant &0000000007737, user name xxxxxx)
Log for payment run for payment on xx.xx.2009, identification XXxxx
System error occurred during blocking attempt; payment run stopped
... the execution of the payment program is terminated
End of log
Job finished
I thought no accounting document has been posted.
Is it the right way if I re-run the program SAPF110S with its variant?
What is the possible impact.
Kindly advise.
regards,
robHi,
Yes there might be no accounting document has been posted because even though the payment run has been carried out but parameters you have mentioned might not been selected because of many reasons.
Please go to EDIT - Payment -
Payment list and exception list.......
Please check if any entry is there in payment list if it is than some doc has been posted.
Rest will go to EXCEPTION list.... will show you the exact errors.
Please check the same in the proposal run first... it seems that PROPOSAL run in not only correct.
See the error and correct it. -
'stopped' status when opening pdf in Firefox
We're having problems opening the pdf's on our site in Firefox with Adobe Reader. More than 50% of the time the pdf will not open and the status bar shows 'stopped'. It's intermittent, the same file can fail to load 3 times but work on the fourth attempt. This issue is specific to Adobe Reader and Firefox (affecting all versions tested).
Example file: http://www.realtor.org/files/research/localmarket/2010/q1/lmr_ny_rochester.pdf
I've done some googling and it appears it's not an uncommon problem, but there aren't any identified solutions other than using a different pdf reader. Is there a known fix? Is there a way we can get more information on what specifically is going wrong (verbose adobe reader logfile, etc.)?It's an issue that's being reported by many of our users. Currently it's been confirmed on XP through Win7 and Reader 7 and 9. The kicker is that it's only a problem with Adobe Reader displaying the pdf in-browser.
If using Adobe Reader but not viewing in-browser it works.
If using another pdf reader (PDF Xchange Viewer, etc.) to view in-browser it works.
I confirmed the issue testing on fresh Win7 VM with current versions of Firefox and Reader (so no Firefox extensions, Virus protection, etc.) using the pdf link in my first post (among others).

Can I at least get Adobe Reader to produce some verbose logging to help troubleshoot the issue? -
VM Guest locked and stuck in Stopping Status
I am using Oracle VM 3.0.2 on both Manager and Server. Yesterday, I tried to shut down a guest VM and I guess the shut down did not go well, the status of the VM is currently "Stopping" with the little "lock" next to it in VM Manager. Since the lock is there, none of the other commands are allowed in VM Manager (such as Kill Server).
Any ideas of what to try to be able to reboot this guest?hi,
this happened with me also..
i googled up & but no success to stop the vm or to release the lock
even if u execute "xm list" on ur vm server , u will c tht ur guest is not running.
finally i rebooted my vm server & thn every thing was ok...
