SDN Type Forum Collaboration wanted on EP

The internal Requirement is to confiugre " SDN Type Forum" in our internal Portal.
We heard by some experts, it can be done with all features as it is like SDN.
May i request you to help with some links / some docs / & which patch levels is minimum for this configuraton\

This is Possible but you have deployee Two Forum SCA file into your Portal.After that you need Created Iview and into that Page you can categories Accordingly.

When I try to File > Save As on an .FLV movie, Firefox automatically changes the filetype to .mp4 while Chrome for instance retains the .FLV file type. I wanted to see why this is and how it can be fixed to work similarly to Chrome. Thanks.
If that file is an FLV file then Firefox should save it as such and not change the file extension.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

New eCATT page on SDN / eCATT forum
Hi all,
we have recently created a new SDN page on eCATT: [eCATT: The Extended Computer Aided Test Tool.|eCATT: The Extended Computer Aided Test Tool]
Comments and proposals for improvement are welcome.
Additionally eCATT related questions should in the future be posted in the eCATT forum

in the layout of the flow logic:

so when you click on the button you should get the google page in a popup.

SDN Search Forum uses Google functionality?
Hello All,
I would just like to confirm if the Search forum fuctionality of SCN forums use google functionality in the background anywhere. As i use the search functionality often in SCN, the administrators in my organization are telling that they receive lots of google search related alerts which is causing some traffic congestion from my system. I just want to confirm if google search is a part of SCN search.

Its true that the results vary when you search with the same keywords in google and scn forums. But my question is whether SCN anywhere makes a call to the google search functionality to fetch the results within the SDN website. I am asking this question just to confirm that SCN search is not responsible for the traffic congestion we are facing.

SDN Security Forum in "Santa" mode for next 10 days
Dear gurus,
In an attempt to close some threads neglected by the OP's this year and achieve SDN's goals with regards to ponits (see the Welcome thread about the UN food program and other donations made by SAP based on annual contributions) I will be combing through selected threads from the current year and closing them as moderator.
It will be impossible to do a perfect and complete job of this, but I will try my best to be fair and concentrate on those who have contributed valueable inputs of information but not been recognized appropriately.
Feel welcome to post links to threads which you feel are candidates for me to take a look into, or even add to the "FAQ & Memorable threads" sticky. You can also contact me via my Business Card details.
Also please close your own threads and do not dump them all to the top again unless there is a good reason to comment further (the comment field is not mandatory!)

I find this procedure objectionable for three reasons:
The community on SDN has failed to achieve its goals. But achieved they must be!! So now the leaders of said community will force the accomplishment of what the community could or would not ... by expressing the approval of the site owner over the community. How does that sound in your ears?
I always understood these forums to be exchange platforms for experts. I cannot see where judgment of 'contributed valueable inputs of information but not been recognized appropriately' comes into that picture. That sounds more like a consolation gift on a beauty contest.
Putting a 'Santa' - cloak around it only makes the whole affair even more dubious.
Personally, I feel offended.

ETA: yet another argument: by extending your role from 'moderator' to 'jury' you are crossing an invisible border. future searchers will no longer know who closed/assigned rewards to a thread: was it the OP or one of the "staff"? that leaves at least a trace of doubt.

SDN PI Forum in "Santa" mode for next 5 days
In spite of being a bit late about it, I would still try to spend some time with the neglected threads on
PI forums and close them before the commencement of the New Year. The work could be questionable but
I would try to be as fair as possible.
Once I saw my colleague (working in Enterprise Portal) post a query on SDN....he wrote the query and clicked Post Message....he was not allowed to do so....warning message was displayed you have more than 10 open threads
Now instead of the moderators initiating a force-closure of the threads, cant we implement a similar logic for Process Integration Forum? This may ensure that the thread-owner closes it giving a proper solution.

Just to clarify, this logic is already in place for all the Forums since some time and it has served its purpose to some extent. Even then you might have already noticed lot of ignored threads. It's not always that a solution seeker log on to SDN just for assigning the points and closing the threads.
If you have noticed, the aim of this thread doesn't really target all those who have their questions open, rather those who have contributed genuinely but couldn't get into the Active Contributors list because of few lazy/extremely busy posters.

Is there any chance that will be reconsidered? In my opinion, this is a disservice to the community.
I personally had seven threads that I had not yet marked as answered because I didn't get a complete answer on any one of them--just parts of the answer. So, in order to keep them from being deleted and losing that information, I have today revisited them and marked them as answered.
There is good information in those threads and it would be a shame to lose that information due to rules and regulations that, in my opinion, were not fully considered. That's probably not what was intended when the decision was made to have them deleted, but there didn't appear to be any other choice. From this point forward, will anyone be able to add more information to them? Or, will a new thread need to be opened to continue the community dialog?
I would urge that this portion of the recent changes be reconsidered. Perhaps the affected threads could just be marked as "closed due to inactivity" but left for future reference--just a thought.

First of all I should add a little bit of information I just got. The 10 open threads limit is only counted for new threads. So if you have several old open threads you don't have to close them to continue posting. But if some are solved it would be nice if you do so. There are some forums that are excluded from this rule. So if you bring up ten suggestions in the 'suggestions and comments' forum that will not be counted.
Regarding the deletion / archiving of old open threads: I see your point and will bring this up to the SDN team.

I am trying to upload a photo from camera roll to a forum. The forum states the max size is 390.6KB. I figured out how to reduce photo size for emailing but cannot email the forum, any pointers. Thanks.

The Import tab of the file drop down menu will not highlight (function) when I follow all the instructions of firefox help. I want to import bookmarks from Internet explorer. At no time does the Import tab ever react when I move the cursor over it.

there should not be any issue in creating template using that XML.
